I have a field which length is 17, once i print the field in sapscript, it default right alignment, i want make the field left alignment, how can i do that, Thanks

first create one character node
for example c1. In this c1 you specify the font size ,style and give left alignment
and then give as <c1>fieldname</>

Set text right adjustement on JButton

What I am looking to do is set th ealignment on the text ine the JButton after it has been established. I have the following code but it does not do what I want it to do.

Never mind I figured the answer out myself, instead of using
pr_names[t][g].setHorizontalTextPosition(JButton.RIGHT);
use
pr_names[t][g].setHorizontalAlignment(JButton.LEADING);

it is possible to print by placing each characters in different line.
for example:
             A
              N
               G
                L
                 E
                  P
                   R
                    I
                     N
                      T
by using tabs and each character will be placed in an angular fashion using tabs

Right Justify Numbered List

In a very simple table, within Pages Layout - I want to list 10 numbered items and have the numbers be right justified. not the entire text, just the numbers. I do not find a way to do that. Thanks for any help.

Here on my machine, if I put a decimal tab stop in the cell's ruler,
the number aligns correctly when I insert a tab (alt + tab)
but it returns to the left side when I leave the cell.
It seems that the feature was designed for the old tables (those in iWork 1 and 2) but fails with the tables using the Numbers structure.
Only the alignment buttons give a correct behavior (but the decimal characters are aligned only if the number of decimals is fixed and if the font used is a monospaced one. Boring, isn't it ?

Except for one step, the brightness (right adjustment in advance calibration) is all the way down when trying to calibrate my JVC Broadcast CRT. This makes the apple disappear and the color adjustment impossible. Please advise.

Error when exporting to flat file in ODI 11g

This works ok in ODI 10g. I'm using IKM SQL to File Append on Windows Server 2008 R2

I've seen a couple of threads like this on the forum, but I've never seen an answer to the problem.

Problem is with the difference in behaviour for the IKM SQL to File Append KM between 10g and 11g.
Our 10g target file datastore had a mixture of fixed string and numeric columns. Mapping from the source to target was simple one to one column mapping. It generated the desired fixed format flat file; numerics were right adjusted with embedded decimal point and leading spaces. Each numeric column in the generated flat file occupied the exact space allocated to it in the layout. This gave the desired results, even though documentation for the 10g IKM states that all columns in the target must be string.
When we converted to 11g and tried to run this interface, it generated an error on the "numeric" columns because it was wrapping them in quotation marks. The result column was being treated as string, and it was larger than the defined target once it acquired those quotation marks.
In order to get 11g to work, I had to change all the numeric columns in the target data store to fixedstring 30. I then had to change the mapping for these numeric columns to convert them to right adjusted character strings (i.e. RIGHT(SPACE(30) + RTRIM(MyNumericColumn),30).
Now it works.

Indesign tables

Hi, wondering if anyone could help me with this...i have been creating tables in indesign to a specific size, saving as a pdf, opening in illustrator and saving for web to be placed in muse. Once in muse they do not retain the original size and i always have to size up, then they lose quality. it's not too bad but i want the type to look clear, and it doesn't. Any suggestions?

That's an odd workflow for getting tables into web pages. More accurately, you're putting pictures of tables in web pages. Lack of native tables in Muse is one of its key weaknesses.
Assuming you believe there are good reasons for doing it your way, maybe you could streamline it a bit, and solve some problems.
First off, there's no reason to export to PDF. Just select the text frame which contains the table and copy it. Paste in Illustrator.
In Illustrator, if you're not already working with pixels as the unit of measure, switch to that. Rt-click the ruler, (View > Rulers > Show Rulers), and choose Pixels.
At the bottom of the Transform panel, (Window > Transform), tick Align to Pixel Grid.
Now, you say your tables are of a set size, and you're losing that size by the time you import to Muse. I don't presently run Muse, although I did experiment heavily with an early version. In any case, I can't test any particular method right now, but it stands to reason that you want to exert all possible control over size as you Save for Web from Illustrator. So, hopefully you know the pixel dimensions of the space your table will occupy on the Muse page. Set your Illustrator Artboard size to those dimensions, (dbl-click the Artboard tool), position your table in that space as desired, and Save for Web. In the Image Size panel of the Illustrator Save for Web dialog, (something else I don't regularly use), tick Clip to Artboard and confirm the desired dimensions are shown.
If, for some reason, the resulting import to Muse is again undersized, don't upsize it there. Check its size and determine mathematically how much smaller it is. That way, you can redo the Save for Web from Illustrator, adding a size adjustment to compensate for the loss. It may take a bit of trial and error to get the right adjustment, but the result will be better than you're getting when manually resizing in Muse. Ideally, you don't want to resize any imported graphic in Muse.

Text problem - will not run on...gets cut off

I need my text to appear to the right hand side of an image, so on the left of the screen is the image, and to the right is the text.
Is there an option to make the text run on, underneath itself? It keeps running along and gets cut off the edge of the screen!

yeah, just hit 'enter' when you want a line break. it's not like MS Word where it breaks when you hit a margin. once you are done typing your text you can center it or make it left or right adjusted.

Creating a FM Book and then Flash RoboHelp starting from PDF

At our business we have an SOP (Standard Operating Procedures). There are about 20 chapters. We create them in Publisher and then convert to PDF and then post on our internal Wiki for all to see. This works for us. However, one of the chapters is 49 pages long and contains many tables that break down about 60 different adjustments our Call Center agents could use on a customer's account. We have a lot of agents doing a lot of adjustments wrong. So I've been tasked with coming up with a better system for agents to find the right adjustment and use it. The bosses wanted me to put the whole document into a spreadsheet. The first tab of the spreadsheet would be a list of questions, i.e. Are you giving a credit because of an outage? Are you giving a credit because of a PPV that didn't display?, and clicking on the question would take them to a tab that shows the appropriate adjustment. (This would save me from having to recreate the PDF links everytime I edit the PUB file and re-create the PDF.) Sounds good, but very archaic to me. I don't want to revert to spreadsheet when I have the Adobe Tech Comm Suite. I watched RJ's videos and was able to take the final Flash file from the Robo Help video and put it on our wiki and everyone loves it. Loves how easy it is to use, that it is searchable and well laid out. So, now my dilema, how do I take our existing PUB or PDF files and convert them to FM Books? I think I can figure out how to take the book to RoboHelp, but I don't know how to accomplish the first step. If there is an existing thread about this, please post it and I will read it. If you've done this before, please share your secret. Thanks!

The full version of Acrobat lets you save a PDF as an RTF file, which Frame can open. (There's a free eval you can use, if you don't have it.)
There are also a herd of third-party utility programs that do the conversion -- Google is your friend here.
After you've pulled the data out of the PDF, remember that you still need to divide the content into chapters/files and use those to build your book.

Time Machine: Excluded Items Do Not Appear In Excluded Window

I have been successfully using Time Machine for some time now. I switched to Lion about 5 weeks ago and I have also recently added a second TM 1TB Backup Drive (SeaGate) to use as an off-site backup of my 1TB External Media Drive (iOmega) and my entire 160GB Internal Drive. I have also restructured the Folders on my 1TB External Media Drive which would've effected the file path of almost every file. I have been experiencing a multitude of issues since then.
1. For the first time, I have been getting error messages telling me that the backup drive is full. I am only backing up a total of 782GB on the External and 133GB on the Internal (915GB Total). So to get around this I have been using the Exclude feature. This is where the next issue occurs..
2. When I add Folders to the Exclude list, they do not appear in the Exclude window; however the "Estimated size of full backup" dialog at the bottom right adjusts to reflect the changes. I cannot delete or use the "-" to remove folders from the list, because they do not appear to be there. I seem to be able to get around this by turning the TM Off then On again, but the trouble doesn't end there.
3. Once I have excluded enough folders for the backup to be small enough and I begin the backup, TM displays the "Preparing Backup" message for quite sometime. During this time several things tend to happen:
a) the entire computer begins to run VERY SLOW, with the PinWheel of Death showing up frequently
b) about every other time, the TM Preferences window crashes and displays an error message saying it encountered a problem and had to close
4. Even if I could successfully use this method of backing up 1 large folder at a time, it becomes very confusing as to what has been backed up recently and what still needs to be backed up. It basically goes against the entire idea of having an automated backup system to have to split up the backups in that manner.
I am very frustrated, as TM has traditionally been a trouble/worry-free system for me. I have seen many posts regarding the various error messages i've received but no one else is complaining about this Exclude issue. I am most appreciative of any help you may offer.

Turn off TM, Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, trash this file...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeMachine.plist
Reboot & try TM again.

Autonumber and text in separate frames affects PDF bookmarks

Since making a forced return in an autonumber specification does not work, I tried the solution of making the chapter heading span two text frames. The first frame is very small to handle only the one or two digits of the chapter number and a space, while the second frame is the normal text column where the chapter title is displayed. This setup allowed me to make the chapter number and heading right-adjusted on the page so that users scanning through pages can more easily find the beginning of a chapter at the outer right edge. I connected the two text frames so that they are part of the same Flow A. The autonumbering for the chapter heading was unchanged. I used the specification:
H:<$chapnum>\sn
Basically, this is a heading series with the <$chapnum> followed by an en space, which, after testing, provided the proper spacing after the number to force the chapter title to the next frame.
The solution looks good in the document, in references to the chapter title, and in the TOC. The only problem is that when I print the book to PostScript and use Distiller to generate the PDF file, the PDF bookmarks have a doubled chapter number, as in:
1 1 Introduction
2 2 Getting Started
3 3 Using the Interface
I can delete the duplicated numbers manually, but I would like a way to prevent them from appearing. I don't understand why Acrobat is adding the extra chapter number when it appears nowhere duplicated within the FrameMaker process.
Any solutions?

OK, so we need a different approach. We need a table of numbers, a concept that I discuss here:

We join the numbers to temp table with BETWEEN over the numbers. Then we count the distinct combination of member ID and number.
We also need to make an adjustment how to build the string for the DISTINCT. I initially assumed that your columns were integer, why I used str() which produces a right-adjusted fixed-length string of 10 characters. (The default, you can specify a different
width as the second parameter.) But str() expects a float value as input, and will fail if for instance member id would be non-numeric. We cannot just concatenate the strings, since in that case (MemberID, SubID) = ('12345', '61') would be
the same as ('123456', '1'). So we must convert to char to get fixed length. All that said, and some more test data added, here is a solution:

Printing of return delivery of multiple line items

Message details are maintained for all line items. Print preview is seen from MB90. please suggest me to achieve this requirement.

What I did seemed fairly straigntforward: Drag the Content tab from its bottom location up next to the Preview tab, so that Content and Preview are in the same panel. Move the right edge of the Preview/Content panel to the left to create a place for the content (film strip). Then drag the Content tab into this new space at the right; adjust panel width and preview size to suit.

Hebrew dictionaries and flashcards apps Definitely ios 7 problem because same apps displayed properly in previous ios versions also checked flashcards sqlite database on pc and the cards display properly. I'm curious to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem and knows a fix for it or a way to report the problem to Apple.

To recap: the markings are being displayed far left of their proper positions essentially symbolizing incorrect sounds. This actually has nothing to do with the apps but actually has to do with how ios7 displays Hebrew. I have a number of Hebrew applications which have all been affected in the same manner. So, I checked a few things in order to come to the aforementioned conclusion. Firstly, I downloaded a sqlite format 3 browser and checked the sql file which is compiled of the flashcards I’ve created from within the flashcards app on my pc and the nikud displays just fine. Therefore there’s nothing wrong with the database just how the information is being displayed, then I opened up a mobile web application dictionary on my phone which displays the nikud properly and copy/pasted the entry into the stock iPhone Notes app and experienced the same problem. Leading me to believe that ios 7 simply isn’t displaying the information properly. Additionally, I noticed that when I tried doing the same thing in a new flashcard in the flashcards app I obviously encountered the same problem but also learned something else: that though the word was initially right adjusted when I pasted it into the text field, after I exit that window and then return to the same window the word is left adjusted leading me to believe that apple simply forgot to add right-to-left language support into ios 7
