Rotated print on HP LJ6P - Win7

I need to rotate the print on my HP LJ6P/MP, I can't find that option on the driver for WIN7. How can I solve this issue? It worked fine on XP, but now the old PC is broken so now I run Win7.

Hi,
Let’s see this blog which discuss this issue:

    I cannot print on my Canon i550 printer with the used Win7 computer I just bought. I downloaded a driver update from Canon that is supposed to fix the incompatibility issue, but it does nothing. Can anyone help? Can't afford a new computer or printer!

    Hi cjvandeveer, The Windows 7 operating system has a mini-driver built-in for the printer. You can plug in the USB cable of printer into the computer and then turn the printer on. If Windows 7 automatically recognizes the printer, it will appear in your DEVICES AND PRINTERS window, and you will be able to print. You will then need to download the Windows 7 printer driver add-on module from our website. The add-on module will give the printer its full capability, but only after the printer is already recognized by Windows 7. First, to see if Windows recognizes your printer, please follow these steps: 1. Plug in the printer's USB cable into the computer and then turn on the printer. 2. Go to your START MENU on the computer and select DEVICES AND PRINTERS. 3. See if your printer is located in the DEVICES AND PRINTERS window. If it is not, we may need to run Windows Update on your computer in order for the printer to be initially recognized. Please follow these steps to install the latest driver for your printer from Windows Update: 1. Turn the printer on and ensure it is connected to the computer with the USB cable. Please note that your computer will also need to be connected to the internet before performing the next step. 2. Click on your START menu button, and in the text box that appears, type in 'WINDOWS UPDATE', then click on START SEARCH. The Windows Update window should open. 3. Click on the 'SEARCH FOR UPDATES' or 'CHECK FOR UPDATES' link. The computer will search for updates and then display the updates it has found relevant to your operating system and devices connected to it. 4. View the CRITICAL UPDATES and OPTIONAL UPDATES that appear; if you see an update for your printer, select that one and then install it. 5. Once the driver is installed, please restart your computer. Once Windows 7 recognizes your printer, you can then install the printer add-on module from our website to give the printer its full functionality.  Hope this helps! This didn't answer your question or issue? Please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for further assistance.

  • HP Photosmart 6520 - shows offline and has stopped rotating printing for short-edge binding

    I have suddenly had some issues with my HP Photosmart 6520 printer. I use a wireless connection with my Macbook Pro (OSX 10.9.5)
    First problem is that the printer icon in the dock has recently shown to be offline/not connected. The printer would print pages of documents in the computer (Open Office stuff) but would not print material direct from a web browser. Now (a few days later) it showed to be offline and wouldn't print anything.
    I should point out that the printer device list in System Preferences shows two different entries: one is "HP Photosmart series 6520" (listed as offline) - and the second is "Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" (listed as idle).
    The first ("HP Photosmart series 6520") had been ticked as the default printer.  I then ticked "Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" to change the default printer.
    Then I noticed, when I used the Print command for a document, that the printer list in the Print dialogue box showed that it had a tick against the "HP Photosmart series 6520" printer. When I changed this to the ("Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" printer, the machine printed my document. But the next time I opened the print command, the tick was once again next to the "HP Photosmart series 6520" printer.
    The printers listed in the Print dialogue box have small icons to their left. The "HP Photosmart series 6520" has a wavy line inside a circle and the "Photosmart 6520 series (FDA82D)" has an exclamation mark inside a triangle.
    The second problem is that the printer is no longer rotating the second page when I am printing two-sided and choose "short edge binding" in layout. It now prints out exactly the same as when "long edge binding" is selected (default). The result is that the second page is printed upside down in relation to the first page. This problem has never previously occurred.
    So far I have tried paracetamol and scotch but neither seems to solve these problems. Not sure if I should try them together!
    Sorry this is so long-winded - I'm trying to include as much detail as possible to make it all clear from the start.

    Hello lenc48,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having a few issues when it comes to printing from your mac as well as some two sided printing issues.
    I do have a some suggestions that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
    First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
    Please remove the usb cable (if using wireless, disregard this step) from the printer and from the Mac and leave it disconnected until further notice.
    Please click on the first link that will give you instructions on Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Once the software has been removed, please disable any anti virus protection that you may have on the Mac.
    The next step we are going to take is downloading the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers - OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
    The installation will prompt you when to connect the usb cable (You will see a prompt for a wireless connection as well if that is the connection type you would like to use) so please do not connect the cable until prompted to do so.
    If you are still having issues, feel free to write me back or you can contact HP Total care direct.  If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Success! How to Print/Scan on network (Win7 & HP 2710)

    OK, I can't say that this will work for everyone considering how many different setups there are out there, but I was able to Print and Scan over my network using the HP software for my Photosmart 2710.  This works about 95% of the way.  The extra 5% I'll explain:
    1) I keep getting a "device driver failed to install" error on restarting the PC.  This only happens on a PC restart and you can silence the message if you want (although it may slience any other hardware install messages with it).  The funny thing is that the printer/scanner still work perfectly fine even with error.
    2) It seems Win7 programs still can't "see" the scanner and it appears to be "half installed"... I'm able to view the scanner properties, but when I select "Scan Profiles" I get an error saying "no scaners are insalled.  However, the HP software can see and use the scanner AND you can press the "scan" button on the printer and get the scanner to load the HP software to capture the scan.
    3) Final Notes:  Printing seems to work perfectly from any program in Win7, and I'm unable to test the Fax since I'm not setup for that.
    4) Lastly, my "UAC" was turned off so I'm unware of any extra "are you sure?" messages you may get.
    ~~~~~How to get the HP Photosmart 2710 to Print, Scan... and maybe Fax over the network with Windows 7~~~~~
    OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (Fresh install -- Installed Win7 then Installed the HP software to ensure no conflicts)
    Network Connection: Wired through a Belkin N+ router (did not use the 2710's wifi)
    Status: HP Digital Monitor can see and track the printer and scanner, some scanning options may not work if your not using the HP software.
    How to:
    1) Download the latest "HP Officejet and Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers" package (about 164MB large)" for Windows VISTA (32bit & 64bit) and the 2710 and save to your desktop.  Of course you should double check to ensure there's not a new Windows 7 software package available... just in case HP decided to help us out.  If there is, download that instead and ingore the rest of this post. ;-)
    2) Now goto "Start", "Control Panel", "System & Security", "Windows Firewall".  On the left panel select "Turn Windows Firewalll on or off".  Now ensure that both "Turn Off Windows Firewall" options are selected... save your settings.  ALSO, ensure you've turned off any other 3rd party firewalls that may be running "ZoneAlarm, Norton, Symantec, etc".  Finally, you may need to double check your router settings, although if the printer was working before Windows 7... chances are your network is fine.
    3) Now "Right Click" on the driver package sitting on your desktop and select "troubleshoot compatibility"... once Win7 gets done "detecting problems" make sure you select "Troubleshoot Program" (2nd option).  Now select "I don't see my problem listed" and click "Next".
    4) On the new screen select "Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and click "Next" and then select "I don't see my problem listed"... finally, click the "Start the program..." button that appears.
    5) During the install slide the extra "program compatibility" window out of the way (leaving it open) and allow the installer to do it's work.  If everything goes to plan all the HP software should be installed and your printer should be detected on the network.  Once the installer is all done you can close out the extra window and if you so choose you can "save these settings for this program".
    6)  Restart the PC for good measure and you should be able to run the 2710... keep in mind that you'll probably get the "device driver failed to install" message, but again I've not seen any real problem with that message yet.
    7)  Now you can slow turn the windows firewall and any other 3rd party firewall settings back to what they were before.. keeping in mind that you might  have to give permission for the HP software to passthrough the firewalls you have running for it to work correctly.
    Hope this helps, until HP does.   I'll try to answer any questions to the best of my ability.  Sorry about any spelling errors.
    Thank you for the above. It got me most of the way, but I had to do a few more bits to get the drivers to work correctly on Windows 7 Professional.
    * Install windows 7
    * Install anti virus/spam/firewall solution
    * Install the 'basic' inbuilt windows 7 printer driver for the HP 2710. Then check it will print, so know printer works
    * Turn off the firewall used on windows 7
    * Installs the Vista drivers for the HP 2710, under vista service pack 2 compatibility mode, as above
    * Download and install the Vista Reboot patch for Windows 7 upgrade (I think this stops the driver message at startup)
    * At this point the printer worked, but scanner did not.
    * Download and install the Windows 7 c309a All in 1 Photosmart software. Ignore when it looks for the c309a printer, and say complete the install. Basically this looks to be a newer photosmart based on the same software solution as the original HP2710. As it over-installs the 2710 software & drivers, it automatically fixes the bits that the 2710 install did not get right.
    * Turn on your firewall
    * Reboot the windows 7 PC
    * On startup allow the HP software to access the different network bits (say Yes) to can HPxxxx access networks etc..
    * Update Win7 with microsoft updates
    * Reboot PC
    Now after a few reboots the PC starts with a full patched Win 7 Operating System and the HP 2710 can Print, Scan, Fax as normal. Now I can use the HP2710 for another year until it breaks on me.
  • Print from wireless laptop (win7) to HP 5550 attached to desktop (xp-pro)
    network is wireless access point to router to multiple desktops.  Desktops are all XP-pro with a workgroup name (dexter).
    I can see the printer in a list on the laptop when I search for printers.
    Win 7 on laptop says I cannot use because there is no driver and it cannot find one.
    I temporarily connected printer to laptop and it installed a driver but still wants to search for one when I ask it to use the printer on the desktop.   This is a piece of cake in XP.  Driving me mad with Win7.  HELP!
  • Page Size and Rotated printing Bug
    When using the DataMax I4208 printer, I cannot use Crystal Reports 2008 as it will autorotate the text 90 degrees as it sees fit to the label.  It is always wrong which causes the font size to be reduced to a super fine font too small for a microscope.  If I change the page size from 4.00 x 1.00 to 4.00 x 4.00 it does not rotate it, it just spits out 3 blank labels with the one correct one.  I cannot find another way to get Crystal Reports to do wysiwyg.
    Hi Pat,
    Fix Pack 2.3 was just released also and there are more updates to fix printer issues in there also.
    A few other things to check is in the report check off Dissociate Formatting Page... this could be one of you issues. Also, use the latest printer driver. CR is unicode compliant and print drivers nust be aware of this also.
    Thank you
  • WhenI print from firefox on a Mac everything comes out 50% too light, if I save the image and print from the desktop it looks fine. No problem either printing from FF with Win7. How do I fix FF on the Mac?
    My iMac runs bootcamp, so I have both OSX and win7 available. I run the latest Firefox on both as my primary browser. The printing looks like the ink is running low, but when the same image is printed from other desktop apps the printing looks fine.
    Hi, Jordan -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
    If the original drive in the newer Mac is a Western Digital, its jumpers may be set to Single, which WD drives often use when there is only one device on the bus. When a second drive is added, the jumpers on the original must be reset to Master.
    OS 9's utility is named Drive Setup - you should find it in the Utilities folder on the hard drive. Run that. Select the added hard drive in the list, then select Mount Volume from the Functions menu.
    You can also check with that utility to see if the OS believes the drive has been set to automount at boot. Again, select the drive in the list. Then select Volume Settings from the Functions menu - there's a checkbox in that screen to set automount (for freshly initialized drives, that's turned on by default).
    Also, try running Disk First Aid (should also be in the Utilities folder). Let it have a look at the second drive, and repair anything it can.
    Apple System Profiler should report the format of all drives it sees. Is the format of the drive from the old Mac stated as Mac OS Standard, or as Mac OS Extended?
    Hi congaman59,
    Are you saving the print settings from within a program on your computer, or from within the printer driver?
  • Rotate print 180 degrees
    I am having problems with printing from SAP to an HP laserjet 4350 printer. The HP printer driver has the facility to rotate the page 180 degrees and works fine when printing test pages from the windows print server.
    When printing from SAP to the network printer the page does not rotate.
    Anyone any ideas as to how to fix this.
    Regards..
    Hi,
    You may need to select the appropriate HP Device Type in SAP.
    Go to SPAD --> Select the ouptut device which you are using (Say LP01) --> Check the device type.
  • HP 6940 print head cleaning in Win7
    I have an HP 6940 which was originally installed on my XP system. I now have moved the printer to my WIN7 Professional system but no longer have access to the toolbox to clean the print heads. Is there anyway to install the toolbox on the WIN7 system?
    I have the same issue too. The driver is built in to Win 7 so there's no toolbox or HP software. How do we get the cleaning and maintenance features installed on Win 7?
  • OfficeJet pro 8600 not printing for USB attached WIn7
    I have an OfficeJet Pro 8600 Attached  to Win 7 Dell with USB cable.  It scans very well but most of the time when you go to print, it thinks the USB device has timed out and it gives me garbage about where to send a fax to?
    I have other computers runing XP that are Wireless devices, and they take longer but print every time something is sent to them.
    This connection is 3' away and the printer default & only printer for Win 7 machine.  Under printers and devices it always  sees the printer.
    Try to run the Print and scan doctor and check the results.
  • PDF Printing Broken in FM10 Win7 64bit
    1) When printing As PDF, the FM doesn't use fonts correctly. I get font substitutions. It doesn't match the PDF setting in the selected PDF distiller profile I selected (embed all fonts).
    2) When printing to Acrobat Printer, the file name window opens with just the header bar (when I tab through windows) without the windows. It locks FM - Not Responding. Have to go into the task manager and kill the FM tree (right click process). Have to reset the files when I reopen the book.
    I believe this second one is a know bug mentioned earlier. Probably both of then.
    I now have to go old school and print to a postscript file and drop it into the Distiller.
    I don't see how testing coiuld miss this one during FM10 beta.
    Hi,
    I canot print from FM to P'DF aswell. If I should start another thread please let me know.
    I am running FM 10 (TCS 3 upgrade) Win 7 32bit
    I have been able to print PDF up until yesterday. I did update Adobe Captivate in the morning, I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
    In FM, when I select Save as PDF from the file menu I don't see Distiller open, but a .tps file is created (0 bytes).
    When trying to create a PDF directly from Distiller I get the error message [ Error: syntaxerror; OffendingCommand: M ].
    Thanks for any help that can be offered.
  • Cannot print to PDF in Win7 Ultimate 64-bit
    Firefox locks up when trying to print to Adobe PDF, NitroPDF, FoxIt or XPS. At first I only noticed it occurring when hitting CTRL+V to paste in a file name for an Adobe Acrobat X v10.1.1.33 PDF but now seems to happen nearly every time a page is printed regardless of site.
    I have tried disabling all extensions as well as starting in safemode.
    Manually Ending the Process splwow64.exe in Task Manager clears the hang but afterward no other prints can even be attempted.
    This has been a problem over several versions of Firefox (5 - 7?)
    Can you print just a few pages of the document. If so, you are probably running out of disk space in the TEMP folder. Empty the TEMP folder and try again. It may also be that your document is graphic intensive and reduced resolution would help. Keep in mind that the creation process creates a PS file first and then converts that to a PDF. The storage of the PS file is where the problem arises in many cases - it can become huge!
