Rounding up component quantities during Production Confirmation
Hello gurus. I have the following situation.
I have a BOM for finished product "X" that contains a component "Y" and a box "Z". The box fits 16 of these pieces. So in the BOM I type a usage quantity of .062 for component "Z" (I'm limited to 3 decimals).
Then I create a Production order for X for 32 pieces. The component overview correctly shows me requirements of 32 pieces of "Y" and 2 pieces of "Z".
The problem is; when I confirm this order in CO11N; as long as I report 32 pieces, I get a required quantity of 2 pieces for "Z", but if I want to report a partial quantity of 23 pieces, then it tells me I only need 1 piece of "Z".
I still need to use the 2 boxes but the system is rounding down to 1 piece. Only if I type 24 pieces or more, it puts it up to 2 pieces.
Is there a way to make SAP always round UP these quantities. Instead or rounding down/up depending on the quantity?
Hi Fernando,
I had the same problem.
If u keep the component quantity in fraction, the system will create more procurement proposal.
We need to keep the base quantity of the BOM header more and avoid the fraction in component qty. This will increase your accuracy when high amount of quantity requirment.
Anyway for the small amount system will do round off.
By practically also for 23 quantities you need 2 Boxes. ( as you said for 16 qtys one box).

Restrict Authorization at Material level during production confirmation
Hi SAP Gurus,
I would like to ask if its possible to restrict authorization at Material Level during production confirmation.
Our scenario is we have SFG and FG which are handled by different group of people but it has the same Order Type. Now we want to restrict authorization such as one department can only confirm SFG and the other department can confirm FG only.
Is it possible to set authorization at material type or production scheduler level. IF not possible, is there other way except creation of new Order Type?
Thanks,
RaymondHi Raymond,
DO you mean I should create a customized table for this?
Yes
Are there no standard way?
As per my knowledge, you can control through production order type, so you need to create seprate order type for this

Display of additional data of production confirmation in QA11
Dear All,
While production confirmation in repetitive manufacturing, we are capturing machine related data like die no through development and savind in table.
My requirement is to display the data mentioned during production confirmation (die no) in QA11 screen which enables the user for defects recording. Here we have used '04' inspection type , based on production confirmation quantity ,inspection lot wil be generated.
please provide your valuable suggestions
Thanks & regards,
rajeshHi Luke,
Thanks for your reply,
I think the userexit "QPL10004" suggested by you will display the additional data stored in QALS table. However, our requirement is to display the data stored in "RMRP" table based on material document no stored in QALS table while posting usage decision.
We have appended RMRP table with zfields like die no, & we've done a developement, like whenever we do production confirmation in repetive manufacturing the die no will be stored in RMRP table.
And we've activated '04' inspection type in the material master of the product produced.
Our requirement is to display the die no (stored in RMRP table ) to user in QA11 , so that the user will be aware of the die no for which he is going to post usage decision in order to record defects die wise.
we are producing similar materials on various dies.
I've preapared a logic to display die no in QA11 which is as follows.
1. Get material document No from: QALS-MBLNR, QALS u2013 HERKUNFT=u201904u2019
2. Against QALS-MBLNR = BLPP-MBLNR, get the value of BLPP- PRTNR
3. Against BLPP- PRTNR = RMRP-PRTNR, get the values of RMRP- ZZMDV01, RMRP- ZZDIE_NO, RMRP- ZZCAVITIES, RMRP-ZZSHIFT
4. Display of data of step 3 in inspection lot u2013 T-code = QA11, by creating custom fields for display
If available, please suggest any userexit/BADI which will support the above functionality.
Thanks & regards,

Change Work Center during production order confirmation
Dear All,
I must to modeling this situation:
I created an production order. In routing I used an work center A.
After I confirmed a half of quantity, the work center A was damaged and I must to change it, with the work center B.
The system allow this change, but when I checked the costing, the situation isn't real. The system counted the costs just for the work center A, and no for work center B.
My question is: it's possible to change the work center, during production order confirmation and the costs updated with new cost?
Thank you for your answer!
Regards,
Marianonce a Order is released, the Process order detaisl for that order is frozen.
however if you want to do it, change the order status to CRTD after reversing the Movements done.
Do READ MAster data , this will copy the new Work center , redo the previously done Moevements.
if the change is long term.
or
Just manually add the new work center and do the processing. if the change is temporary. -

Serial nos entry during production order confirmation in CO15 - User Exits
Hi all,
Is there any user exit existing for a serial nos screen pop-up during production order confirmation.
Regards,
Sravan Kumar VHi,
For serial numbers at the time of goods receipt, u have to activate sr. no. mgt for that particular finished product. This can be done by assigning sr. no. profile in the material master record of that material in work scheduling view. once this is done , system will automatically prompt for sr. nos at the time of goods receipt. I am not aware about any user exit.

Equipment as PRT's during Production Order Confirmation
Hi Gurus,
During Production Order confirmation I cannot see whether I have consumed equipments as PRT which are attached to operation.
The operation is showing CNF status as well the Order.
How can I see whether which Equipment was used for each operation since there can be more than one equipment as a PRT's for a single operation.
Regards
NileshI use Production Order confirmation hence saw it in CO14 and checked that PRT's are in PRT REL status..I guess this is what you mean to say right??
Thank you so much for your response.

Recording shift during Production order confirmation
Hi All,
Is there a way I can record the shift during production order confirmations using CO15, CO11 or CO11N? I do not see the shift field in the confirmation screen.
Thanks & Regards
Subbu SPDear,
If you don't want to use the standard functionality of SAP or you are on lower version then you can go ahead with enhancement.
CONFPP07 Single Screen Entry: Inclusion of User-Defined Subscreens by using this you can define shift in confirmation.
For more details refer this link,

Component / Semi Finshed rejection during Production
How can we configure the following Business Scenerios :
1. Material is Transfer to production floor with reference to BOM / Production Order from main store
2. During production - Some material is rejected because found faulty
3. Rejected Material is sent to Quality for inspection ( the same material is inspected by the Quality at the time of GR ,but may be found faulty in production floor)
4. Quality Department do the inspection and found some quantity may be used after some rework and remaining quantity is rejected and send to Main stores to return to Supplier
Pl let us know the steps how this can be configure into the system.
thanks
harishHi
1. Material is Transfer to production floor with reference to BOM / Production Order from main store
2. During production - Some material is rejected because found faulty
Solution:Here for the rejected material take back that material through reversal movement type.
3. Rejected Material is sent to Quality for inspection ( the same material is inspected by the Quality at the time of GR ,but may be found faulty in production floor)
Issue this material to quality through transfer posting (from unrestricted to quality inspection) using movement type 322.
4. Quality Department do the inspection and found some quantity may be used after some rework and remaining quantity is rejected and send to Main stores to return to Supplier
Once it's cleared from quality department here create inspection lot & thorugh usage decision clear that stock as unrestricted stock & again issue that material to production.

Goods movement during operation confirmation
Hi Gurus
Currently My system is backflushing all the components when i partially confirm the operation through Co11n T-code, which i dont want. I want the backflushing should happen only after the final confirmation of the operation.
Is there any configuration change required to stop the backflushing only during partial confirmation.
Thanks in advance,
Quantum.Hi
In SAP U can do backflush in 3 ways
Indicator: Backflush
Determines whether the backflush indicator is set in the production order. Here, a 3-level hierarchical logic is applied:
1. In the routing, the backflush indicator is set in the component assignment.
2. In the material master record, the backflush indicator has the characteristic "Always backflush".
3. In the material master record, the backflush indicator has the characteristic "Work center decides",
the indicator being set in the work center.
If at all u dont want to Backflush at the time of Confirmation in CO11N, partial confirmation , dont set any backflush indicator in any level, u can go for Manual Goobs issue Using MB1A, So that u can confirm Goods issue , and final component u can confim By setting Auto goods recipt with the help of Control Key for the last operation in routing.
i Hope this will help.

Hello Team,
I have this confirmation situation:
NORMAL SITUATION
When production confirmation is done usually,
1. The components that make up that finished product is withdrawn from inventory via movement 261
2. The finished product is received into inventory via movement 131.
But when there is not enough components in stock, the system gives an error message and terminates
the confirmation. This creates a COGI error log.
PROBLEM
When production confirmation is done between the last day of the month and the first day of the next month,
the following happens:
1. When components that make up a finished product is insufficient, a COGI error is logged for the component.
2. The component is NOT withdrawn from stock.
3. BUT, the finished product is still received into inventory via mvt 131.
This messes up the MRP process because the component was not withdrawn and the system thinks we
still have them, whereas, they are actually consumed.
I have compared master datas and other checks but nothing jumps at me.
I will really appreciate any inputs and suggestions.
Thank you in advance.>

Joel,
I think you are using REM of SAP and you are using MFBF to perform your confirmation. If so please check the REM- Profile assigned to the assembly material, and in SPRO->Production ->REM->Control Data---->Define REM Profile, here you check its defination. I would suggest you to use a REM Profile which is having "Mandatory" radio button active for Error Correction during Backflush in Dialog mode. This is prevent GR happening if there is problem in GI of Component.
Alternately the generic practice in Industry is that just before month end closing all the error records in CO1P/ COGI / MF47 are to be cleared by the concerned plant person.

Production confirmation is allowed more than once
Hi,
I have carried out production order confirmation once and tried to enter confirmation again with CO15 however system allows to confirm the order again.
Can we restrict the confirmation to not to take place if it is already happened.
KumarDear ,
Please do the following :
1.In OPK4-Operation Individual Screen -In Selection Tab :
Un-Marked Finally Confirmed Operation : If u marked Finally Confirmed Operation , then during the confirmation process the system also selects confirmed operations.
Markeed Confirmable Operation : If this indicator is set then the confirmable operations are also selected when executing the confirmation processes
2.Goto General Individual Entry :
Marked Act Cost and Termination for Incorrect Act Cost
Marked Goods Movement and Termination for Incorrect Goods Movement .
Try and reverty back

Costing variant , how to config rounding for component quants ?
Hello everyone ,
i am new to CO-PC
my user want to change rounding for component quants.
Current setting is u2018Round up with Nondimensional units of Measureu2019.
This affects too high loss in standard product cost due to rounding up.
For instance, 24 pieces of product are packed in one shipping carton.
Based on standard cost calculation per 100 pieces,
shipping carton usage is computed as roundup of (100/24) which is 5 pieces.
Once in the actual production, production lot size is 10,000 pcs.
Target shipping carton usage would be automatically calculated as (5*24,000/100) = 1,200 pcs
whereas in the reality, 1,000 shipping carton should be used (24,000/24).
As a result, material usage variance is shown too high due to rounding up.
you can see detail in below website (there is only picture in website)
thank you in advance.Hi
I dont think this behaviour can be changed....
There is a workaround though, in acordance with SAP recommendations
Increase your costing lot size to 10,000 or 1000 or as much as reasonably possible... Also, increase your Price Unit and keep it same as Costing Lot Size....
For Existing Material Masters: Go to T code MM17 and change MARC-LOSGR (Costing Lot Size) and MBEW-PEINH (Price Unit)....You can change in mass mode
For New Material Masters: Using BADI MATERIAL_REFERENCE, you can default the costing lot size and price unit as 10000 or 1000 as desired
