Does anyone know how to have a java program run automatically when the computer is started?

This is OS depended, thus can not be done in 100% pure Java.
You can do it for some OSes for example
In Win9X, add it to your Startup folder in your Start Menu.
In WinNT, make it a WinNT Service. (search forums for more info).

Go into your System Preferences and click your accounts, then click on your name then click on Login Items, select the item then click the minus sign on the bottom. I am not clear on the other problem.

When i go to system preferences, then users & groups, then to my name, log in items ....this box is clear, i have unchecked everything, yet things still start up......

sometimes these applications will have a setting in the preferences to not open on login of computer. If you see none of that, you can go into:
system preferences> Users & Groups > Select your user>Login Items.
unlock the settings by hitting the lock icon on the bottom left of the window then youll be able to uncheck these things from opening when you log in.

(or more) of the time we abend while Forte is trying to partition the

Hi,
We have had the same problem in a non-express application
with a heavy server partition. In our case, the error was not
systematic, depending on the server workload at the time we
tried to partition and run.
The work-around we're using is to put the -fm flags (increasing the x
parameter to say 30000) in the 'server arguments' of your server
partition
properties in the partition workshop. Note that if your server is a Unix
platform,
you need to put double-quotes before and after the parenthesis in the -fm
syntax.

Access to a FG from another running program

Group, Is there any way to "get a hold of" a reference of a functional global running inside another vi? I have a program that uses a functional global to pass data between vi's of a program. I have this program starting up as a service when I start the computer so I don't really have access to its front panel. Part of the data that the FG holds is a STOP flag and will shut down mulitple parts of this program. I would like to build another program that I can start and run at will that will set the STOP flag in the "hidden" running program. I am not sure quite how to do this.

What you are essentially asking to do is to access an internal resouce of another program. Doesn't really matter if it's a LabVIEW program. In your case you could enable the ActiveX server for the other program so you can access the VI that way. The LabVIEW Help contains information on how to enable the ActiveX server for an app and how to use it from another application. You could also use shared variables. You can take a look at this overview for more ideas:

Checking for running programs using a abap program

Is there a way in ABAP to detect from within a program that another process is running the same program? Meaning if PROG1 is running, could PROG1 check to see if another process is running program PROG1?

Use the locking concept. You can either create your own, or a popular one to use is ESINDX, passing parameters: relid 'ZZ', SRTFD program name, and SRTF2 = 0.
The logic is:
Attempt to get lock (FM ENQUEUE_ESINDX, perhaps).
If lock got -> run program
If lock not got -> quit.
You have to put this logic at the start of your program.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Cannot write the suitable source codes for running program

I want to write a program that help student to compile program and run program by using some test cases. For the compiled part, i have been wrote it successfully, but for the run part, i cannot pass the test cases to the program for running. Could any ppl help me to find the problem on the followng codes, why the error will on there? how do i change it? Thanks!

Whats the error message??
Just a guess, but could be (without seeing the error) that you've already closed the TestCaseBuf reader by closing the result set, hence when you go to read it, you're reading on closed reader.
Give this a go...Put the // code into the result set while loop

Adobe Audition 3.0 - first time run - program shutdown

i downloaded the AA3 trial version
it installed on my computer with no problem.
when i first run the program it gives me the trial version window, saying i have 30 days to use trail version program etc.
so far so good
i click on try, to try the program
i starts the program, giving the "green" splash screen. than it prompts me to select my biggest hard drive for my temp folder- i choose yes, and my next laargest drive for secondry temp- i choose yes also.
than it opens a little window thats saying
title: "Shutting Down"
text : "to continue working where you left off, please resatrt audition"
then the window closes.
when i rstart the program, the problem continues.
i tried uninstalling, and reinstalling. no good
i tried safe mode- no good
i tried to install on another windows user - no good.
also i tried selecting no on the temp folder questions, just to try it, nothing happends- same problem.
what can i do? im kinda desperate for this program before i buy it, so can anyone has any idea?
system info:
winxp pro SP3, english version.
im computer administrator.have lots of free space, on my temp folder drivers, and on te windows drive, and the installed AA drive. surely more than the program should require to work OK.

Unfortunately once uninstalled you cannot reinstall the trial version. It only works once, I'm afraid.

Exception "Cannot run program" while using ProcessBuilder class

I try to start a program within a Java application using the ProcessBuilder class. This is the first time I use ProcessBuilder so I do not have any deep knowledge of it. Here is a snippet of my code:

Does anybody have an idea why this is not working? I tried to start another application like "notepad.exe" and that works fine. So it seems related to the fact
that the program I want to start is only available in a certain directory and not via the PATH env-variable.
I would appreciate any help or hint :-)

Okay I guess I misinterpreted the JavaDocs regarding the directory method. The exception message is a little bit confusing too, because it seems like Java tries to find the Application within the specified
working directory.
I tried to use the full path with the ProcessBuilder constructor and it looks like this variant is working. I still have some trouble with the application itself but I was able to start another program which is
not in the PATH var, using the full path to the executable.

Error running program AI_CRM_CPY_PROCTYPE in SOLMAN 7.1

Hi Gurus.
I'm trying to run program AI_CRM_CPY_PROCTYPE to copy transaction type SMIN to ZMIN in SOLMAN 7.1 SP3.
When I choose button "start copy process", the program terminates with error "ASSIGN_BASE_TOO_SHORT".
Do I need to change something in the screen before I choose the "start copy process"? Can you please help me how to correctly run this report to copy transaction type.
The Central Correction Note for was already applied in our SOLMAN system.

Hi,
In SOLMAN 7.1, Use SOLMAN_SETUP, and go to IT Service Management-> Change Request Management.
Apply the master note for Charm in step and in Step 3, Copy Transaction Type via Report.
Please use the above method, it should work.

Checking for a running program?

I have a program I'm working on that will have background threads, and instead of starting up a new instance when the main method is invoked, I'd like to bring the GUI up (just gui.show();) if the background threads arent running.
How do I go about checking for the running program?

Use the locking concept. You can either create your own, or a popular one to use is ESINDX, passing parameters: relid 'ZZ', SRTFD program name, and SRTF2 = 0.
The logic is:
Attempt to get lock (FM ENQUEUE_ESINDX, perhaps).
If lock got -> run program
If lock not got -> quit.
You have to put this logic at the start of your program.

OWB - Workflow- Cannot run program "/usr/bin/perl": CreateProcess error=2,

Hi All,
I am using OWB 11gR2 and I am getting "perl" location error after start workflow for any dimension or fact.
*Cannot run program "/usr/bin/perl": CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specified
The log is below. I am using Windows 2008 R2 OS and 11gR2 DB. The perl path is set in the environment variables and I can run the perl.exe from command line.
Why OWB is looking for the Unix base path "/usr/bin/perl": is a question for me.
If anybody knows the issue please guide me.

I have created a sample Fusion Web Application(ADF) and created a test.jsp in viewcontroller with few components. I have started the integrated weblogic server and started successfully, but when I run test.jsp it is giving me the below error

Initially this page is working successfuly.
Please tell me whats the problem.

There are some problems when JDev's system directory (e.g. the \system11.1.1.4.37.59.23 directory) is in a path that contains spaces (as it is in your case - C:\Documents and Settings\...). Move the system directory to a path without spaces and try again. The simplest way to move it is to start JDeveloper in a "single user" mode (use <tt>jdeveloper.exe -singleuser</tt>) which will create the system directory within JDev's home directory. Of course, if your JDeveloper is installed in a path containing spaces, it will not work either (for example, if JDev is in C:\Program Files\...).
