  • May be selling S750 Gigaworks system

There is a possibility I may be selling my S750 Gigaworks system along with spare parts of the system.
It has worked flawlessly for a number of years (after I returned an initial unit that failed after 6 months!).
I have not used the unit much and always at very low volumes. I also have a spare remote, a spare pod (neither of which have been used at all) and some spare satellites (which were not required to be returned when I received the new unit under warranty some years ago). I will NOT however sell any parts separately.
If you are interested in this possibility, you can ping me via my web site (you DO know the address right? if not search for it in my previous postings :-). Indicate you interest level and how much you would be willing to pay for it. It is in superb condition with not a scratch on the subwoofer box or any satellites.

    SmooV,
First off, these forums are for user interaction so you may not get an answer to questions asked here from a Creative Employee. I will try where I can though.
    1) It is possible, however we won't know anything until they are announced. We generally do not comment on future releases as we do not always have all the information on them.
    2) I have a set of S700's (exact same amp as the S750s, just ships with 5 sats instead of 7) that work wonderfully. All of those that I know with a set of Gigaworks S750/S700's have no problems with them.
    3) That's a pretty good combination. Actually one of the best right now.
    4) The Fatalty and Elite pro versions include 64MB of X-Ram which is memory that is devoted to storing audio information for games. This allows games that leverage it (ex. BF2 and Quake 4) to have improved game performance with higher audio settings.
    5) The DDTS-100 is actually aimed at people that wish to use their Gigaworks with home theater equipment and game consoles. Any X-Fi has a built in DD and DTS decoder and the Plat, Fatalty, and Elite Pro models have inputs for external devices like DVD players and game consoles. So, although the DDTS does come with what you need to work with the X-fi (it comes with a PC switch box) it really isn't needed.
    6) I really don't have any information on Speaker Stands other than what direct sales told you. I am in the US so our product line is a bit different.
    7) Our customer service and technical support depts are located in Oklahoma for the Americas, Dublin for Europe, and Singapore for Asia. We do not outsource our support, so they are all Creative Labs employees.

  • S750 GIGAWORKS AND ASUS MOTHERERBOARD REALTEK SOUND CARD will they work together

S750 GIGAWORKS AND ASUS MOTHERERBOARD REALTEK SOUND CARD
My system currently used a built in sound card on the main board asus hd audio
I am wondering if these speakers will work fully with the built in sound card or will I need to purchase another sound blaster card?
the mobo is a but I have noticed the jack plugs on the s750 have

should work fine mate, i have asus p5n-e sli board, and i have the realtek hd audio onboard, one thing i can tell you though, CREATIVE audigy 2 and x-fi cards have a serious problem with nforce 4 and 650i chipsets, not sure about 680i but i wouldnt risk my money, they just dont seem to draw enough power from the pci bus if you have a decent graphic card installed, you end up with very loud crackling and pops which sound scary as if its gonna blow your pc up, theres a lot of complaints on the net about this and i had to pull my audigy 2 zs out my machine and go back to onboard realtek because of this problem, blame driver support, creative just cant get their act together

  • S750 gigaworks has blown, can i still utilize the sub itself?

    HI guys,
The Fuse of my sub has finally blown. SO this common problem finally reached me. But i'm not an expert in electronics and i'm not sure if i can fix the problem. I only know some basics. So my idea is buying a new A/V Amplifier like a Yamaha or a Denon and attach the satellite speakers. But what about the Sub. Can it easily tweaked(repaired or whatever) that i can attach it as well. Maybe there is a tutorial already out there but i couldn't find it.
I hope you can help me out.

    Hello,
Maybe you can connect the satellites from S750 to a 7900 system.
    See:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...&thread.id=525
But I see a couple of problems:
    1) First, you must be sure that the satellites of the 7900 system have same impedance. S700/S750 satellites are 8 ohms, make sure the satellites of the 7900 are also 8 ohms, or you may run into trouble!
    2) A 7900 system is much less powerful than S7500! S750 is 7.1 setup -- 7x70 W rms satellites (plus the sub). The 7900 is x20 W rms front satellite, and 6x8 W rms front, mid and rear satellites (plus sub). This means, the subwoofer/amp of the 7900 is x20 W front channel and 6x8 W all other 6 channels. This won't be able to power normally the S750 satellites, which each one require normally 70W. So even if it works, the satellites will be very underpowered. This may present a problem for the amp/sub of the 7900, but I am not sure. Or simply, they will be very quiet.
So basically, I think that chances are very low...
To connect satellites from one Creative system to another, they should be similar, in terms of power and other characteristics. And 7900 and S750 are very different, unfortunately. For example, I use now 2 x S700 satellites on 250D 2.1 system, but they are almost similar power and other similar parameters and they sound very well. But 250D satellites are: 50 Hz - 8'000 kHz, 75 W rms, 8 ohms; S750 satellites are: 50Hz - 20'000 kHz, 70W rms, 8 ohms; so they're almost identical... that's why it works.
Better try to repair the subwoofer of the S750 -- there are some threads around, which mention successful repair of S7500 sub/amp! :-)
Or sell the S700/750 satellites on ebay...that's an option, too.
    HTS!

  • Gigaworks and audigy 2 zs platinum lip sync is

Can smeone form creative please help me with this issue.
I have loads of external dvd players, a pacific, an xbox, 4 yamadas, accoustic solutions, scanvision, etc etc.
This is what is happenning, i am connecting the pacific dvd players optical out (or coaxial) It makes no difference as they both do it.
Press play to watch dvd, and start watching movie, the longer the movie plays and even in the first 5 minutes of playback the lip sync starts to go out, this is with the use installed decoder checked on soundcard and doly digital decode slected instead of default, spdif byass.
If i stop or pause the dvd and press play the lip sysnc comes back in, then it gradually goes out again.
Now it is not the dvd player. as it does this with the xbox as well, and the yamada, etc etc, this is on a clean installation of win xp pro, the only things that are in are chipset drivers, gfx card driver and the full installation of the audigy 2 zs platinum driver disc.
I connect the optical out or the coaxial ut to the optical in on aud 2 zs plat li've bay, and the same with the coaxial in on aud 2 zs plat li've bay, but only one at a time.
Can someone tell me why this is doing this, i am 98% certain i do not get this from using aux 2 in.
Also it always says unknown or invalid spdif signal in the decoder options.
Also it fails to initialize the dolby digital decoding when inserting the coaxial cable sometimes or rather 8 times out of ten, i have to either restart dvd player, or restart computer to get sound back.
I am not happy with either the s750 speakers whilst playing dvds or the audigy 2 zs card, the speakers are not very loud whilst playing most dvds and teh lip sync is not acceptable, i have used a dtt2200 and sb li've 5. witht the same dvd players and i never had this issue, granted this was on another computer, so i wil be try the s750 with the new computers onboard 7. sound chip to see if i get same issues, then i will be moving the sound card into another pci slot but i should not have to do this, as creative should have already tried this card in all available pci slots in all manufacturers motherboards to test the compatibility, if this issue remains can someone at creative tell me if they will give me a refund for the hardware of gigaworks s750 and audigy 2 zs platinum as www.dabs.co.uk will not give me a refund for these the speakers have only been in use for at most 2 weeks but are 3 weeks old and aud 2 card is about 0 weeks old but have only just been tested on my new computer as of at most 4 days as thats went i got all the other hardware to build up computer and i am most unhappy that dabs tell me they only do a refund or replacement upto 28 days, so creative it looks like the refunding of my money will fall to your company, but then after all it is your hardware, so you maybe can force dabs into giving me a refund , as after all it is your hardware and you will be able to reimburse dabs .

I tried it into all available pci slots on a fresh clean install of windows xp even the exclusi've pci slot was used, and even ehen it was in the other pci slots, it was not sharing an irq with anything anyways, it still does it whilst decodint the Dolby Digital Stream.
Have tried the driver updates for the card and it still does it.
    I have the audigy 2 zs platinum witht the li've dri've I/O .
I have taken this card out and put my soundblaster 5. platinum card in, and the li've dri've IR that came with that card, and using the optical in or the coaxial in the same way as the Audigy 2 zs plat li've dri've ,and it decodes the 5. with perfect lip sync, however this is not true dolby digital decdong on the sb 5. card as you have to use the CMSS feature anyways on this card, so even though the ac-3 decode is ticked, it aint true Dolby Digital Decoding anyways.
So i took that card out, and put in my older audigy Platinum 5. card, and teh li've dri've that came with that card, and formatted windows, etc, then after xp went back in installed the audigy drivers etc, then connected the coaxial cable from external dvd player and This also plays the 5. with perfect lip sync, but again however this is not true dolby digital decoding on the audgy card, even tehough the option is selected ac-3 spdif decode in audio hq, You still have to use the CMSS feature to get kind of 5..
I know this to be true as when the 7. Audigy 2 zs plat card is in, when you play dvd from external dvd and use the optical or the coaxial to the fron of the li've dri've that came with audigy 2 zs plat, you get the Dolby Digital Logo appearring on the monitor screen to tell you that it is decoding etc, and teh Quality is very good and you can hear that it is a Dolby Digital 5. stream, APART FROM THE FACT THAT THE AUDIO GOES OUT OF SYNC WITH THE PICTURE.
So I know it has to be down to the actual hardware of the audigy 2 zs plat soundcard or the hardware in the Li've dri've that came with the audigy 2 zs plat soundcard. Its a shame that a lot more people that have bought this pruduct ie the audigy 2 zs platinum version, would not test there li've dri've soundcards dolby digital decoding using an external dvd player, so as we could get a better idea of the problem, AS there are only a couple of other users on this forum that have this harware and they have the same problem, so is it because these cards are faulty, or is it inherint in the hardware that cannot be fixed, cos it aint in the software, but how can we find out when no one seems to be able to tell for sure that a driver update will fix it.
Also Does the Audigy 2 zs platinum Pro suffer from this same lip sync issue whilst using the external dvd players optical out to the optical in to decode dolby digital 5. streams.
Saying as i spent over ?400 on the s750 gigaworks speakers and the Audigy 2 zs platinum soundcard, and that they are only 3-4 months old, and have just been installed into my computer (ie just opened within the last 2 weeks) i am really shocked to learn that nothing can be done and i have wasted a lot of money to get something that cannot do what it is advertised to do, And www.dabs .co.uk are reluctant to refund me my money on the basis that they only do refunds upto 28 days, so in my situation although i purchased the goods 3-4 months ago, i have only just got round to teseting the goods, as i needed the other bits to build computer up , like the case mnotherboard etc etc.
Come on creative, whats the score with this hardware.

  • GIGAWORKS AND ASUS REALTEK SOUND CARD will they work together or what sound cards are compatable?

S750 GIGAWORKS AND ASUS MOTHERERBOARD REALTEK SOUND CARD
My system currently used a built in sound card on the main board asus hd audio
I am wondering if these speakers will work fully with the built in sound card or will I need to purchase another sound blaster card?

Is your built in Realtek 7.1 analog? If so, does it have 3 output jacks for 7.1 or 4.1 If 4, you'll need a cable with 4 1/8th inch plugs on each end, if it's got 3 the included cable will work fine. Either way it shouldn't be a problem, although some onboard sound may not sound as good as a dedicated higher-quality soundcard as high quality speakers tend to bring out both the best and worst in your other sound equipment.

  • PC soundcard output's division with Y-adapter - possible? & does it affect the sound quali

Does the quality of the signal, quality of sound or power of the signal weaken in anyway if I split one of the soundcard's 3,5mm (/8'') output for two speakers with an 3,5mm Y-adapter?The soundcard is X-Fi ExtremeMusic and speakers connected are S750 Gigaworks. I have an extra set of those speakers and I thought if I'd connect another S750 main unit to get a double subwoofer. I have no intention of connection any of the satellites to the second S750, so just a second sub and it's divided channel signal from the soundcard. I'd be connecting the Y-adapter to the speaker-end of the cable which comes from the soundcard. The cable is?Creative's modified 3x3,5mm/4x3,5mm 7.-cable, aprox. ,8m in length, but I also do have?an Creative's DDTS-00 decoder in between the soundcard and the S750 unit, so make it two times ,8 meters?and in the middle of?those two a?decoder's?separate source switchbox, which is used to alternate the signal to the speakers either from the soundcard or from the external decoder. I truly appreciate all answers and Merry Christmas to everyone regardless of where your from or what size shoes you wear!Message Edited by Atte_84 on 2-24-20060:56 PM

Okay, thank you very much for such an experienced and technically mastered?answer. I appreciated it a lot. I hope you had a great Christmas eve last night! In Helsinki it was beautiful. The central cemetary in Helsinki was an serene experience to visit late in the evening, covered in beautiful waves of lit candles in an otherwise pitch blackness. But here we have a two identical systems to connect, a two S750 main unit. So naturally their impedance values should be identical. As I understand you, the both?would have an?excactly the same?noticeable or mediocre decreasal in the?level of sound volume, or strength of the signal. As the quality of the sound is a huge priority to me, that clearly rules out the useage of such Y-adapter. Right? Is there any other method? Would two X-Fi's run simultaneusly on one PC, both being acti've at a same time sending the identical signals through outputs?

  • Still have 6 inspire mt1200 speaker stand adaptors available for trade

I have the 750 Gigaworks Speakers and now have a total of six Creative MT-1200 speaker stands. Only needed four until I broke one of the adapters, so I had to buy two more stands. (You can't buy the adapters separately here in the US)? If anyone out there isn't using the Megaworks/Gigaworks adapters from the stand kit, I would be happy to trade for the other Creative Inspire adapters that came along with my sets of speaker stands. Let me know if anyone has the adapters I need. They are so flimsy it seems so silly and extremely expensive to have to pay $70 plus shipping, just to replace two small adapters. Hope Creative will fix this little problem in the future. luvmyrescuedogsTucson,AZUSAThe 6 plastic adaptors that I still have available, fit the Inspire Speakers. They are the plastic ones that are horizontal and have one hole in them. The other long vertical Inspire Adaptors have already been traded to a forum member from The Netherlands.
I believe he said his Creative speakers were the Inspire 5700sAnyway, if anyone has the ones for my S750 Gigaworks, that I can trade for, please let me know.

First, let me thank the two Creative forum members who were able to trade their extra speaker stand plastic adapters to me for the extras ones that I have. It is very much appreciated. Now, if there is a forum moderator reading this message, then would it be possible to pass along my frustrations on being unable to order these very essential parts from Creative here in the US? Surely, I can't be the only person who's metal speaker stand has fallen over and broken that little plastic adapter. These stands are very prone to tipping over. If nothing else, why not make that adapter out of metal? When ordering our stands, why not let us just buy the adapters that fit our particular speaker, instead of giving us extras for two other models? These speaker stands are very overpriced and it seems wasteful to have to junk them because of the weakness of a little plastic part or to have to buy extra stands just to get the part needed. luvmyrescuedogs

  • SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook connections to speake

Was wondering if anyone out there could tell me something? i have the creative S750 Gigaworks 7. surround sound speakers. i have just purchased the X-Fi Xtreme audio notebook card with the surround sound connection piece. on my sub there are four ports: Green, orange, white and black. Now on the other end of that very same cable there are only three, the typical Black, Green and Orange that i have used on my desktop for my 7. surround sound needs. My question is, where do i get this cable with both ends having all four colors to connect into my external speakers dock? if anyone can help me on this I would be greatly appreciati've. Thanks.........

There is a very good reason why it tells you your card isn't supported, that's because it isn't,?This download?is an?application for Creative Sound Blaster? X-Fi? series of audio devices. It restores 3D audio and EAX? effects for certain DirectSound?3D games in Microsoft? Windows Vista?. For more details, read the rest of this web release note.
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi?XtremeGamer Fatalty?Pro<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatalty<
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatalty Champion Series<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer<
    Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic<
?Alchemy was written to translate DirectSound3D software calls to OpenAL hardware calls, and unfortunately the Xtreme Audio doesn't have the hardware, the EMU20K2?(all that card basically is is a renamed SB Li've 24 bit/Audigy SE, neither of which have the hardware either).

  • Ddts 100 is this normal

ok so far i have spent over ?600 to get a dolby digital system with some punch
Firstly i bought the s750 gigaworks speakers
then the audigy 2 zs platinum soundcard.
Now this should have been good enough to get dolby digital via optical out on dvd to optical in on audigy 2 zs live drive ( nope lip sync issue with no fix in sight)
So i buy the ddts 100, well actually i sepnt my money on another creative 7.1 speaker set that includes the ddts 100.
Set it up and yes i can now get dolby digital / dts etc.
But i got no switch box, your also suppsoed to get 2 (7.1) audio cables, I GOT it gets worse can someone that represents creative tell me, what sound quality i should expect whilst using the analogue stereo inputs.
    Stereo is ok
But when i want to use dolby prologic or the neo to upload 2 channel stereo to 5.1 etc. in movie mode, cinema mode, music mode etc.
I get high frequency garbled noises from the speakers, it aint the speakers as i do not get these nosies using dolby digital, i only get these noises whilst using the prologic and neo, now i know this is not normal, as it would be pointless if this was supposed to happen, why is it all the creative geart i have bought is having troubles. Do you not think that someone who spends this amonut of money deserves to have hardware that actually works as intended.
The amount of hassle i have and for someone to say, that has a vested interest well mine does not do that. Do they just keep the good stuff for their workers and palm everyone else of with , sub standard, missing parts etc.
    Whats going on?

The iPad 2 & 3 came with a 10W charger, the 12W didn't roll out until iPad 4.  But if the OP is using an iPhone charger, or anything that delivers less than 2A DC then that would explain the lengthy charge time (9 hours does seem rather long).

  • Creative Labs What Is Wrong With Your Manufacturing!!!??!?! RE: Gigaworks S750, XFI e

Ok this is a straight forward RANT! In building my new computer I decided to let Creative be my folks for sound since I've always been impressed with the EAX and surround sound, the first time I played EQ in 4. 3D sound on a first gen SBLi've card I was in awe. I've bought so many speakers and sound cards since and been happy. So I decide with my new computer I will buy the XFI Fatality, Progamer headphones with mic, and the Gigaworks s750 7. speakers. Well I got the headphones and the sound card first, right off the headphones left side sounded blown out to me, so I sent them back, and the new pair worked fine. The XFI card became the issue next I had the cracking and popping noises, I made a few tweaks and was able to kill most of it, but I have 4 gigs of Ram and when I turn on the memory hole in the bios so that XP Pro 64 can see the 4 gigs brings back the popping noises. So I have to turn of 2 gigs of ram that cost me over $300 so I don't have nasty noise when I play games. Oh yea and I sent the card back as well in hopes I'd get a repaired one.... No Such Luck... So then I get to my speakers, the left rear channel is making a sound like a blown speaker so I swap the plug with another channel and its fine and the other speaker in that channel makes the noise, so I send back the sub as a RMA at a cost of $30 to me (not like giving them $800+ for broken stuff isn't bad enough... nothing like salt on the wound.) So after 2 weeks of no sound other than headphones for my gaming, I get my sub back, I hook it up and.... Now the left rear channel is totally DEAD. So now I'm PISSED, I call up and hold it together when talking to the RMA folks. They offer to send me a whole new set of speakers, so I'm thinking cool, maybe its in a cable or the box or something.... Today I get home from work and see the box, I'm like sweet new stuff and spend a good hour carefully rewiring my whole desk with the new speakers and cables. Get it all hooked up and click on the sound test for the 7. and........ The Side Left Channel is DEAD WTF!!!!!!
!!! All I can say is it sucks there is no real competition for sound against Creative, because they know their product will be the demand and if they put out a poorly manufactured item they can get away with only so many people will even bother RMAing and will just li've with it thinking they did something wrong. I am truly disturbed by this trend and can only hope that after I actually get everything working in 6 months or so if they ever fix the noise issue with XFI and maybe a few more RMAs of my sub to get one they TEST before sending it to me... I hate to say it but I think next comp I build I'm going to have to start looking at other sound companies. Its sad to lose faith in a company you hold in such high regards for so long as pioneers. • How to use GigaWorks S750 to my laptop??? HELP!!

    Hi
I'm having trouble with finding the right and best solution to connect my GigaWorks S750 to my laptop.
I havent got enough outputs on my laptop (my system needs 7.1).
I need a solution so i can use all 8 speakers. Maybe a external soundcard or something like that?
Please be kind and help me if you know a good solution. Thanks!

  • Connecting DVD-Player with GigaWorks S750

I'm going to buy a GigaWorks S750 system. Will I need an extra decoder like the DDTS-100 when I want to connect the soundsystem with the Computer (with Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro) and one of these things: DVD-Player, Radio, Walkman?
    Thank's for your answers!

No, I wouldn't bother. You can connect both radio and walkman to two of the line-in sockets on the Audigy's external hub. A DVD player can be connected using the coax or optical inputs. One thing you can't do with the Audigy 2 is use Dolby Pro Logic II for PS2 games. If you don't have a PS2 to connect then, that's not really a problem.

  • Is this a genuine gigaworks s750 system?

A little over a month ago I purchased a GigaWorks S750 system from Dell, which arrived in a regular brown box with Creative's logo, pictures of the S750 and black writing on it. It looks fine. Recently however, I observed that all the pictures I ever saw of the S750 always showed the shipping package as a multi-colored box. Plus, some of the wording on the box I received are a bit different from what are on the multi-colored box.
Just out of curiosity, I e-mailed Creative about this and they replied stating that all S750 systems are indeed shipped in Creative's multi-colored box (orange/white with blue writing on it). They advised that I should contact Dell about this since Dell might have shipped me a refurbished S750 system.
I contacted Dell by telephone about what Creative had said and they told me that first of all, they do not refurbish third party products and second, although I ordered the product from Dell, the S750 was actually shipped from Creative's warehouse. (Product was actually shipped from a company named Tech Data Corp., Technology Drive, Swedesboro, NJ 08085. Country of origin: China. Manufactured date: 0/28/05).
Please note that I have not even hooked up the system yet. In view of the innumerable amount of problems people are having with the S750, I think I should first get some explanation about this discrepancy.
Am I the only one this has happened to I need to know whether this is a genuine GigaWorks S750 system or is it a fake, a refurbished set or whatever. I really need to know just to put my mind at ease.

    JC,
I have seen S700 and S750's shipped in brown boxes so I would not worry. It may be that since these were for a third party a brown box was decided on as the packaging. I am not aware of any "fake" S750's so I think you are safe.
