'Sales order stock' has to hit inventory account at GR

I'm facing the completion of the following scenario:
. sales order to customer
. sales order item generates purchase requisition, which is converted into a purchase order
. goods are received in our stock, 'sales order stock'
. vendor invoice is posted to the purchase order
. delivery is created, goods issue is posted
. customer is billed.
The guy before me configured the whole thing and left, I have to complete it. From a logistical point of view it works fine: it all goes via 'sales order stock'. However from a financial point of view there are some things incorrect:
. the GR does not post against the regular inventory stock account (in the account assignment of the purchase order there is a GL account and the related sales order line item)
. the PGI does have any financial posting at all
What I have to establish is:
. with GR, material goes into sales order stock with regular financial posting (debit inventory, credit GR/IR)
.with PGI, material goes out of sales order stock, with financial posting: credit inventory, debit intermediate account (in the billing document the intermediate account is credited and the COGS account is debited).
Again from a logistical point of view it all looks okay, the financial side is bothering me . . .
Who can help me out?
thx
Ben

Further to my last message. What item category are you using.
TAS is for third party, which works as I described. The GR does not post into sales order stock, but direct to cost of sales.
If you use TAB, then this is individual purchase order. In this case the GR should post to valuated sales order stock, as you expected. If you have other custom item category, then it depends on the configuration of that item category. You could compare it to the SAP standards TAB/TAS. You could also try to test in your test system using the SAP standard item categories. Also if you use material valuation with standard price, make sure the material has a price, or you will not get any posting.

  • MM Account determination with valuated/non valuated sales order stock!

    Hi All,
I have been trying to set up MM account determination in our project for sales order assigned POs.What I have observed is that when I have a PO with sales order assignment and according to requirement class (coming through reqt type) in sales order it is valuated sales order stock then in the PO we get the stock account determined through BSX key. But when it is non valuated sales order stock we get a different account assigned through GBB-VKA key. In both the cases the account assignment category in the PO is "E".
Can someone please explain what is the connection between valuated/non valuated sales order stock and MM account determination and if what is happening is right from account determination point of view?
    Regards,
    V S

    These are two different postings:
    BSX: stock posting
GBB: Offsetting entry for stock posting
    Stock posting (BSX)
This transaction is used for all postings to stock accounts. Such
    postings are effected, for example:
    -   In inventory management in the case of goods receipts to own
stock and goods issues from own stock
    -   In invoice verification, if price differences occur in
connection with incoming invoices for materials valuated at
moving average price and there is adequate stock coverage
    -   In order settlement, if the order is assigned to a material with
moving average price and the actual costs at the time of
settlement vary from the actual costs at the time of goods
        receipt
Offsetting entry for stock posting (GBB)
Offsetting entries for stock postings are used in Inventory
Management. They are dependent on the account grouping to which each
movement type is assigned. The following account groupings are
    defined in the standard system:
    -   VKA:     for sales order account assignment
(for example, for individual purchase order)

  • Sales order stock does not exists

    Dear All:
I have created a sales order with reference to a quotation. the line item in sales order is also with reference to the quotation. and the stock has been assigned to that quotation. But while creating delivery, it is giving the error that sales order stock does not exist. my query is why sales order stock is required when the article is with reference to a quotation?? should not the stock be with reference to quotation??

    Hi,
Check the Item Category of the Sales order which your using to create the delivery. In the item category confuguration VOV7 the special stock indicator 'E' may be assigned. So without a sales order stock assignement it will not allow you to create a delivery.
GO to Mb1b for the Sales order using 412 E create a stock and see whether the delivery is created or not.If it is creating than that means the sales order stock has to be generated through your process.
If production order confirms then it may generate a sales order stock in MTO scenario. If in your case it has to generated then you have to use MB1B trnasactio code or create your own customized program to create the sales order stock.

  • PO against valuated sales order stock posting to consumption account

    Hi All,
I am creating a PO with account assignment against valuated sales order stock. However the posting happens to consumption account (GBB) instead of the stock account (BSX). The following settings exist
    1. The material type is both quantity and value update
    2. The account assignment category used in PO is E which has special stock = E, account modifier = VKA and consumption posting = E
    3. The requirement class (in SD) has account assignment = E and valuation = M (even tried with A)
    4. The valuation class for valuated SO stock has been maintained in the accounting view
However the system picks up the account corresponding to GBB-VKA and not BSX. Can anyone point out any setting that may be mising here.
    Regards,
    Ketan

    Hi,
Maintain the consumption posting as blank against the account assignment used in PO in OME9 and test the scenario again.

  • Cannot release inventory allocated as Sales Order Stock

Hi All,  I'm very new to SAP and am somewhat unfamiliar with the SD process.  We created a Sales Order (from a customer purchase order), everything was okay until we tried to do an ATF; a change was made to the strategy group (from 20 - MTO to 40 - MTO with final assembly).  That change allowed us to create a new sales order and successful do the ATF and ship the order.  Now, however, we find that there is one item in inventory that has been allocated to that old sales order as "Sales Order Stock", we can see this in MMBE.  We've tried to delete the sales order, but it cannot be deleted.  When we try to delete it, we're getting a message "For reasons of cost management item 000010 cannot be deleted, Message No. V1128"; we have no idea what this means or what caused the initial error with the sales order.  Is there a way to relese this inventory and return it to regular stock and delete that old sales order?  Hope I gave enough information, thanks for your help.

    Hi Xamiaca,
You key in the sales order number in VA02 and ,you can see the production order number  in the schedule line tab(Production- at the bottom). Take down that number and go to "CO02" and see the status of production order and the settlement status. If the settlement has happened, take a FI/CO consultants help to cancel the Financial postings and reverse the goods issue of this production order. After doing all these go to the sale order and delete the sales order ,this automatically deletes the Production order and the sales order stock. If needed the run the report "SDRQCR21" If still you see any inconsistencies after doing all the above.Kindly please let me know If you need any more information on this.

  • Account Determination with Sales Order Stock

    Hi, Guys
Does anybody know how (and WHY) SAP makes (or doesn't make) account determination of material movements from or to Sales Order Stock???
I have found that, for example, an Accounting Document is generated when transferring to or from Customer Stock (411E and 413 mvt) and that no Accounting Document is generated when processing GI from Customer Stock (601E mvt) or GR against Production Order (101E to Customer Stock)....
There are also NO Accounting Documents when inventory differences occur (701E or 702E)...
It's pretty strange I think....Sure there is some logic  put into the process of managing Sales Order Stock but I don't get it...
Of course, reward points are guaranteed for helpful answers!

Automatic Accounet determination is done in MM. In this for some of the movement types there is no need to enter the G/L account every time.
All are customized in  Automatic Account determination.(AAA)
Go to SE16 enter the Table name T156 and press F4 you can see the movement types where G/L account are customized in  (AAA)
you can check the movement types

  • Account Determination for the Procurement of Sales Order Stock

    Dear All,
I am trying to a procure stock with reference to  a sales order(with Account Assignment Cat E in PO),System is not picking/posting the stock into BSX inventory Account upon Goods Receipt.
The requirement is to post the sales order stock procured on to the Inventory Account BSX and to be shown seperately as Sales order stock.
    Please advice.
    Regards
    Karthik

    Hi,
Go to sales order VA03, here under "Procurement" Tab, check the "RqTy" (Requirement type for e.g. KE)
Now go to OVZH, here check the requirement class for Requirement type KE, it will be "040" for e.g.
    Now go to SPRO > Sales and Distribution > Basic Functions > Account Assignment/Costing > Maintain Requirements Classes For Costing/Account Assignment > Here for Requirement Class "040", enter following;
    Acct assignment cat.        E
Valuation                   M (Separate valuation with ref. to sales document/project)
Then do the cycle again and check.

  • Cost of Inventory for Special Stock- (Sales Order Stock)

    Dear All,
We manufactures "x" materail under Make to Stock and Make to Order Scenarios. We carried the standard cost estimate through CK11N and released through CK24N. There is a value of "X". Also we carried the sales order cost estimate that is value "Y". But we have observed the inventory value updated during confirmation of the production is at "Z" value. We have identified this Z value is the value of special stock previous periods.
I would like to know the procedure of valuation of inventory under scenarios
    Regards
    Anilkumar

    Hi,
    thanks for your info.
Can i say the changes will be done for those special stock.?
Actually my problem is related to a Return Sales order process where we need to change the MAP before DO and GI, otherwise the Material document would not capture the correct MAP during GI.
and the solution from the senior is select the variance "special stock -Sales order" and enter the sales doc# in MR21.
The problem that we are not yet having any special stock for this return Sales order, but this MR21 works for us and after that, the material document is able to capture the correct MAP.
Any idea what or where the MR21 is updating for the "Special Stock-Sales order" if we don't have any Sales order stock for the paticular sales document?

  • Sales order stock on delivery document and transfer order

    Hi all,
At my current client I have a requirement where we need to put stock against sales order (sales order stock E). So, being a MTO process we create production order and perform goods reciept to unrestricted stock. To avoid getting picked up by a different sales order, we move the stock to sales order stock using 412 E (tcode: MB1B). Here are the issues I am facing currently:
    1. Is there a direct way of receiving production order directly to sales order stock?
    2. I couldn't find a way to do the first, so I am currently receiving production order against unrestricted inventory and then move it using MB1B. So, the stock can be seen to assigned to sales order.
2a. When I create delivery it is not consuming same stock, it is consuming inventory out of unrestricted stock (if any, in case no inventory is available it throws error of 0 available quantity). Once I have assigned sales order stock why is it still looking into unrestricted? Is it due to the requirement type which is assigned. Do I need to change the item category so availability will check sales order stock (similar to item category TAB)?
2b. This probably will be resolved if I get the delivery fixed but we have SAP WM and during TO creation I don't see the special stock reference filled in? I tested this process with item category ZTAB (copy of TAB) which creates purchase requisition and it seems to be working but I don't need the purchase req for my case.
    3. This is more of an accounting issue: when I attempt to move stock from unrestricted to sales order stock using 412 E, I was getting "Account XXXXX is not assigned to cost center". So, I went in an assigned a cost center to this cost element. IS THIS REQUIRED & WHAT IS THE RELEVANCE as it takes stock out of inventory.
I understand it crosses other functional areas but even if you can clarify 1 part of it, will be very helpful.
    Thanks.
    Naren

    Dear Friend
You are telling that it is MTO scenario and you are posting stocks into unrestricted stocks
    This is entirely wrong
This is happening because of a simple thing missing in your sales order item category configuration in VOV7 that is special stock indicator E is missing which should be there
This is the cause of whole problem
MTO item categories will have special stock indicator E in standards
In MTO based on the sales order production order is triggered and stocks are receipted against sales order and not into unrestricted use by defaut in standard
You will receive MTO stocks as sales order stocks in your plant  only in standard
But it is not happening for you because of  stock indicator E in VOV7 of your sales order item category is missing
Posting MTO stock in to unrestricted use is meaningless  and the same is happening because of a slight miss out in setting in VOV7
This is the solution for issue no 1
    For issue no 2
You have created the sales order( MTO order) without special stock indicator E and now you are doing a transfer posting in MB1B with 412 E  referencing the order no sales order stocks  that is Fine
You are getting an error that only zero qty is available either at delivery or at pgi eventhough in MMBE you will find sales order stocks in your order name
    This is happening because
Reservation in MB1B is done with special stock indicator E for sales order
But the  same sales order is not created with special stock indicator E in VA01 during creation
    There is a mismatch
Hence the system is not able to sense while the order comes for delivery there are already stocks are reserved
By inputting  special stock indicator E for sales order item category the whole issues will get solved
By doing that there is no need to do MB1B itself
The first step itself will get corrected  as the stocks will be posted to sales order stocks no need for MB1B
No need to touch TAB make it ZTAB as it is meant for a different purpose it is for individual purchase order not to be used for MTO
*By marking the special stock indicator as E in your sales order item category your entire issue will be resolved*
    Issue no 3
MTO is based on costing for which you have take the help of FI person
    Note Very important
If U make the settings now in item category it will not work for the existing or already created order
With existing orders it will have the same error as the order is created without special stock indicator E
Only for new orders it will work and from Now on it will work
Test it with new order cycle starting from VA01
Please let me know this issue has got solved or not?
I am 200 % sure it will get solved
    Regards
    Raja

  • Posting of variances for purchase for sales order stock (Z)

    Hello
I have an issue when posting invoices related to purchase order with item cat Z (valuated sales order stock). The material is a standard material with 'Price control' 'S'.
I would like the variances to follow the goods. If the goods are still on stock, the variance shall be posted to inventory instead of account for purchase variances.
Logic has to be the same as for production variances for materials with 'Price Control' 'V'.
    Best regards
    Søren

    Hi
With price control S you can never achieve that, unless you have MaterialLedger in Place
You can not inventorize variances otherwise withPrice Control S

  • Revaluation in stock transfer to Sales Order stock from unrestricted

User is trying to do a stock transfer posting from unrestricted to Sales order stock.  Now the system is throwing an error saying that account setting has not been done for UMB (OBYC setting).  I have given the GL for this UMB transaction type in OBYC>  UMB is for posting Gain/Loss from revaluation.
I dont understand how a revauation happens when we transfer stock from unrestricted to Sales Order Stock ?  What is the purpose of that in our scenario, could you please explain.

    Hi:
Normally it should not happen in case of stock transfer posting. Please check the movement type settings for valuation class of your material and see if the transaction type UMB has been set against valuation class in OMJJ...Account grouping.
    Hope it will help you.

  • Difference between Valuated and Non valuated Sale order stock

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me the difference between the above said subject with the steps involved in each scenario.
That is valuated sale order stock and Non valuated sale order stock in Product cost by Sale Order.
With Journal entries at each step and whether any WIP or variances at Production order level and sale order level and all the financial entries related to them
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ravi Kumar

    Hi Shail,
    Thans for your inputs,
But I wanted to know it in more detail. In what scenarios they are used with financial entries in both the cases.
I will give you my scenario. It goes like this,
My client is in pipe coating business, who receives pipes from customers and does only coating work(which is considered as service) and despatches it to the customer. this process is carried on the basis of work order(Sale order).
Now Production order is created and work is done on that with reference to Sale order for that particular customer.
So the pipe which my client receives should be non valuated stock as it will not be a raw material to them and the cost incurred on it is booked on production order like chemicals as raw material consumption, activity cost etc.
now in this scenario just tell me how and at which stage FI entries get generated at Production order and Sale order level, and also at wat level Standard cost estimate should be created i,e at production order level or sale order level(sale order cost estimate).
Will there be any entries at goods isssue and GR against production order. If no then how the COGM account will get hit.
Please tell me this scenario in both cases Valuated sale order stock and Non valuated sale order stock with financial entries in Sale order costing.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ravi Kumar

  • Valuated Sales order stock - Goods Receipt

    Greetings,
I am trying to better understand the concept of 'Valuated Sales order stock" and I read in the SAP documentation that:
"When you are using a valuated sales order stock, externally procured individual requirements materials are assigned to the sales order stock at the net order price at the time of the goods receipt"
But I find that in our SAP system, this is not the case. Externally procured materials are valued at whatever price they are costed in the sales order they are used.
I can have a PO whose net price is 5000 Euros for Material X but if that same Material X is costed at 8000 Euros in the Sales order to which is it used, the GR for Material X will be at 8000 Euros.
(the PO for Material X is assigned against the sales order).
Perhaps I am misunderstanding what is meant by "externally procured individual requirements materials"?
In the example above, material X is not the Finished Goods sold to customer through the Sales order. It is a component that is involved in the production of the FG.
It seems to me more logical that Material X value be based on the cost estimate computed in the sales order rather than on the PO Net price...
Thanks in advance for your valuable feedbacks!
    Best regards,
    Sylvain

    Hello Nikolas,
    Thanks for your answer.
Yes, we value our inventory at Std.
(Is this why the GR is valued at Sales order cost estimate and not Net Price?. SAP does not mention this in its documentation)
I understand your point but my argument is based on the fact that if a purchased material (Material X in my example) is received into stock at the Net Price value, then, there will be a mismatch between
    - the Cost Estimate of Material X in the Sales order (Material X will be valued at its Std there, based on our Costing variant)
    and
    - the value at which this Material X will be consumed in the Production process (since it will be at Net Price).
This would cause a Production variance to be recognized since the actual costs to produce the Finished good would be different from the Cost estimate of the Finished Good in the Sales order (and the cost estimate in the sales order determine the COGS of the Finished Goods in accounting).
The difference of 20 you mention is treated as a Purchase Price variance in our case. That PPV is assigned against the Sales order.
    Best regards,
    Sylvain

  • Goods Receipt for sales order stock

    Hi everybody,
I want to receive materials for sales order stock. what I did:
    1- Created a Purchase order,
    2- Account Assignment = C
    3- went to MIGO
    4- selected PO number
    5- set movement type 101 / E
the SAP give error message that you have not planned 101 / E !!!!
I searched alot but couldn\t find the solution.

    Hi Dear,
When you use C account assignment category, System will consume those materials/services for the respective sales order at the time goods receipt/service confirmation. There is no inventory possible when we use, account assignment C as a standard, If you want to make inventorize, we have to choose account assignment category M against sales order.
When we are procuring material against project, Account assignment Q-will be inventoried and P-will be consumed for respective cost object
Like the same M-will be inventoried and C--will be consumed for respective cost object
