Sales Org. structure reallignment

First thanks for taking the time to read this post. I would like to have your expert suggestions for the below scenario.
In our client organization, a country is mapped as sales org in SAP, different product lines are captured in the sales division level, the country is divided into mutiple sales districts and it is captured as sales office in SAP, district is further sub-divided into mutiple territories and it is captured as sales group in the system. Customers will be created at the bottom of the sales structure.
The business is highly dynamic and they would do geographical reallignment every year. For eg, To start with, we may have created 8 different sales offices in the system. But it could be reduced (for eg. 6) or increasted (for eg. 10)  in the next year depending on the market situation. The same could happen with the sales group also. So the underlying customers need to updated with new sales office and sales group. How can we do it easily considering the master record volume (approx. 200,000). How will it impact other areas like demand planning, allocation, pricing, commission and etc. Is there any alternate approach to handle it differently?

Hi,
Sales pricing, commission will be effected in case you sales office and sales group will be part of it, you need to input the condition record for the same to caluculate the pricing and commission.
Since this is your business requirements, you have to go with it, and later you need to maintained the condition record as required.
For demand planning is based upon creation of sales order, i don't it will impact mutch in it.
regards
Vivek.

  • Loading Sales Org structure in to CRM

    Hi,
If we copy the Org Units, Position, job and persons master data from HR then do we have to copy the sales structure again from SD? Should copied HR org structure be enough in CRM?
Can you please explain at high level step-by-step on how to get and configure sales org with positions in CRM? What we can download and what we have to configure manually in CRM?
    Thanks in advance.
    -GK

    HI,
There are many topics about this subject. Use search on sdn.
    For example:
CRM - HR - SD Organizational Model
First decide wether HR or SD organization structure is being mapped, Normally SD structure is mapped to CRM org structure in organization maintaince(CRM)
Normally the structures are borrowed from SD side of R/3 as who knows better about the sales orgaizations/sales distribution channels/sales divisions/sales offices/sales groups etc than the SD in R/3. HR's primary controlling functions are about the positions, roles and idnetification of employees. This data is replicated into CRM as BP in the roles of employees.

  • Sales Org Structure Transport

    Hi,
    Guru's
How can we transport the " Sales area  " structure from Dev to Qlt server ?

    Hello Mr. Gupta,
You can transport CRM Org Structure from Development to Quality using a Report  RHMOVE30 (T COde SE38)
    Use below details
    Plan Version = 01
    Object type = O ( Transporting Org Units)  Select S = Positions
Object ID: Org Units For Object Type O & Positions for Object Type S
Transport: Task . Give the Customizing Transport Request Number & Tick on Transport Objects
After Executing Save the Org Structure.
Then import the Transport request into Quality.

  • Sales organization structure changes in COPA

    Hi All,
My client like to change Sales organization structure like Distribution channel, division, sales office, sales group etc. and profit centers in sales orders.
from 01/01/2011 we like to post all open sales order's settlments to new sales organization, distribution channel, division, sales office, sales group and profit centers in COPA.
What is the best way to achieve this?
    Any help is appreciated.....
    Thanks,
    Anusha

    Hi,
I think COPA realignment should work for you.
If you can establish the exact relation ship between old Sales org structure  to new Sales org structure, you can design your realignment in such a way that the new sales data will reflect the new structure.
    For this,
1.You need to select the sales documents for which you want to change the sales org.
    2. If you want to derive them again, you can do so
    3. If you want the sales org structure elements to be replaced by new ones, you can do so.
Following a realignment, only the new assignment is known in the information system and in planning. The characteristic values valid at the time the original posting was made can only be analyzed in line item reports. Because the existing profitability segments are changed to adhere to the new assignment, all objects assigned to those profitability segments - such as sales orders or projects - and all existing SAP documents - such as billing documents or FI documents - reflect the new assignment as well.

  • Integrate the Org structure and employees SAP HR system to CRM via ALE

    Hi All,
We want to integrate the organization structure and employees from mySAP HR system to mySAP CRM system. We are also aware that the same can be achieved through ALE Interface between both these systems.
In addition to the HR Organization Structure from HR system, can we also bring over the Sales Organization Structure from R/3 using transaction CRMC_R3_ORG_GENERATE?
    1) Can someone , please let us the possible challenges which might occur when we download HR Org structure from SAP HR to SAP CRM.?
    2) What is the implication of maintaining an HR org structure and CRM Sales Org structure within the SAP CRM 52 system?
    3) Any _precautions) should we take before doing the download via ALE??
Please get back, suitable points will be awarded.
    Regards
    Ritvij

    Hi Ritvij,
Couple of things that spring to mind are:
    1) When you do the initial data load (PFAL) try to ensure that no one is amending the Org structure as Objects can be locked and therefore not transferred. (on one of our test loads the top level was locked and therfore all subsequent levels were just transfered and we didn't have a top level)
    2) Keep the 'forms of address' in CRM the same as the R/3 ones
    3) Keep the same Employee and Org Unit IDs but prefix with (for exmaple) EM and OU in CRM. (Through the HR integration config in CRM). This may also (apparantley) aid you if set up something like an Employee interaction centre in the future.
I will update when other stuff springs to mind.
    Cheers

  • Enterprise Structure -Sales Org to plant of company code

    Hi,
My client wants Sales Org to be assigned to plant of different company code.
While doing configuration in our development system I got warning message that Sales Org,Distribution assigned to Plant is of different company code.
Do we have any procedure/ extra configuration required if Sales Org is assigned to plant of different company code?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Vengata Raghavan

    Hi Raghavan,
A plant can  be assigned to only one company code but to many combination of  Sales Orgn and Dist Chnl. The combination of Sales Orgn and Dist Chnl could belong to a different company code.
The configuration you have done till now is correct just that the system warns the user with a message when we assign the plant to a sales orgn and dist chnl of a different company code.

  • Mass change - Move existing sales orders from Sales org A to Sales org B

    Good morning dear network,
am seeking for your guidance on one specific matter.
We are in the process of making changes to our billing / organisational structure (new sales orgs)
One of the challenges is that we need to move existing open sales orders from one sales org to another (new) sales org.
If all master records exist in the new sales org, is there a (technical) way of moving the existing sales orders from the current sales org into the new sales org, without having to replace each order individually ?
    would welcome any suggestions.
    Many thanks

I would recommend to close the existing open sale orders by assigning Reason for Rejection and create new sale orders in the newly created sales organisation.
This is due to the fact that you need to ensure each and field in the existing sale orders to match with the newly created sales organisation and it is bit time consuming.
Still if you prefer to what you had indicated, LSMW is the better option
    thanks

  • Creation of Sales org views for customers related to vendor

    Hello All,
Can any body tell me is there any functional module which can be used to created the sales org views for customers related to vendors.
    Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi Ravi,
the number of sales area possible would be 6 sales area,
yes you can of course use the common master data functionality
After creating the organizational structure and relevant master records you want to use as the masters, that is, in the distribution channels and divisions you are going to use as a reference, you can group distribution channels and divisions separately for master data (which combines customer master and material master records), group condition records, or both master data and condition records.
Letu2019s say you have a product range that is not different for the four different distribution channels you have (the channels could be telesales, retail, industry, and wholesale.) Neither is there a difference in the customersu2019 details when they purchase through one or the other. Thus, you will not want to create a multiple of four views of customer master and material master records. Merely create the customer master records and material master records in one of the distribution channels, such as retail. Then assign the other distribution channels you created in the organizational structure setup to this one.
Donu2019t forget this means you can only create or change master data in the distribution channel that is being referenced. In the scenario above, this means you can only change data for the retail distribution channel. Even if you should access a customer or material master in change mode, press F4 (possible entries), and select telesales, industry, or wholesale, you will receive a message u201CSales area is not defined . . . u201D
The same is true for the sharing of conditions. If conditions are shared, you need only create a condition in the distribution channel or division you are using as the reference. Obviously, this only pertains to conditions that have the distribution channel and/or division in their key, such as a price based on sales area

  • Sales Org. vs Territory

    Hi all,
Currently, we are analyzing the advantages of having Sales Org. over Territory so that we can frame a meaningful Org. Structure in C4C.
One part of functional team wants to setup Territory as Org. Hierarchy with a belief that they can see all Analytics sorting based on Territory as you can see in the below Opportunity report.
Another part of functional team argues that org. Structure is inevitable but not able to give strong comments on why it is needed over Territory.
We are kind of stuck on taking a decision here. This is not an integration related reqt. for now but we are thinking that it may effect in future as we have C4C Opportunity --> ECC Quote replication which is planned in phase 2. Will it be a problem there if we go with Territory model?
I would like to know your opinion on this.
    Opportunity Analysis
    regards,
    Srivatsava J

It depends on your requirements if you need territory management. I think using the sales orgs of the organisational structure is inevitable, adding territories might be overkill/confusing if you don't really need it. Note that you also need to define and maintain realignment rules (e.g. condition on postal code range) that determine the territory and owner. Also integration with ECC is a good point to consider.
We actually did implement territory management next to the org structure. They have pretty much the same setup, so no problems there. We had extended requirements concerning account management; in our case the account manager (based on postal codes) is not the same as the employee responsible for sales. Territory management could meet our requirements and we also report on territory ID. I think from 1405 release there should be a new data source for territory management, so that should not be a problem (anymore..).

  • Sales Org assign to Plant

    Hello Everyone,
I would need your help to confirm the following is true or clarify some doubts:
    1. I understand that Sales Org (SOrg) is assigned to Plant   , thus :  Sorg := Plant
    2. Does this also Implies : SOrg + Distr Channel := Plant? Not necessary right? For this case, its not true / an invalid assignment right?
    3. Plant is assigned to Sales Org + Distr Channel.  Is it implicit that the Reverse is true? Is it implicit that Always the reverse is true, in general, for Any other organizational unit assignment relationships?
I believe that Sales Org := Plant and Plant  := Sales org + Distr Channel  and the reverse of each of both relationships are not true. Please confirm.
    4. Sales Org is Assigned to Plant but Plant is not Assigned to Sales Org right? Plant is also higher level in the organizational structure than Sales Org right?
    Thanks.
    Sincerely

    Hi,
I guess this will help you
How to Configure a New Plant in SAP?
Plant 0001 is the SAP defaults provide for your reference.
OX14 - Define Valuation Area (Tick one only- Once your system go live, no more changes) Most company take the SAP recommended choice - Value Material Stock at Plant level Value Material Stock at Plant or Company Level If you valuate material stocks at plant level, the plant is the valuation area. If you valuate material stocks at company code level, the company code is the valuation area. The decision you make applies to the whole client.
    OX10 - Create / Change / View Plants
OVXB - Create / Change / View Division
    OX18 - Assign Plant to company code e.g. 0001 - 0001 - All Plants Px1 - Plant Px1 Px2 u2013 Plant Px2
OX19 - Assignment of company code to the Controlling Area
OB38 - Assign company code to Credit Control Area
OMJ7 - Assign business area to Plant/Valuation area and division e.g. Plant Px1 - Business Area Bx1 Bx2 Assign Valuation area to the Business Area .e.g. Valuation area Vx1 - Business Area Bx1 Business Area Bx2
OMS0 - Assign Factory Calendar to the Plant and Business Area The plant plays an important role in the following areas: If you want to create by copying from existing plant: 1. Copy existing plant A to new plant B. All of plant Au2019s data in throughout the IMG will be created/copied for plant B. In some cases with plant A data that is not desired. In step 3 you must go through and correct invalid entries 2. Correct address information 3. Correct data copied to plant B as plant A (a) In Sales and Distribution -> Shipping -> Picking -> Determine Picking Location -> Assign Picking Locations (OVL3), delete entry where Shipping Point = plant A and Plant = plant B and press save. (b) In Sales and Distribution -> Shipping -> Basic Shipping Functions -> Shipping Point Determination -> Assign shipping points u2013 wherever plant B is found the shipping point is plant A. This must be changed to plant B. (c) In Enterprise Structure -> Maintain Structure -> Assignment -> Sales and Distribution -> Assign shipping point to plant u2013 delete plant B shipping point from the plant A assignment. (d) In Enterprise Structure -> Maintain Structure -> Definition -> Sales and Distribution -> Define, copy, delete, check shipping point u2013 copy shipping point plant A to shipping point plant B. • ERP sales org and HR org unit

    hi,
in our implementation we plan to use ERP sales org for all sales documents in CRM hence we plan to map org structures between CRM and ERP.
we also have a need to leverage Employee maintenance done in HR. hence we plan to download employees from HR into CRM.
can you please help guide on how we can achieve both the above scenarios?..can we maintain HR org and ERP org in CRM?
    thanks
    RH

    Hi,
What I undestand is u want to map the ERP sales area i.e. the Logistic Org Structure into CRM as well as u want the HR Integration with employees coming from HR.
    a. ERP Sales Area or Logistic Org structure
This implies mapping of the Sales Organization with CRM.
This can be downloaded using the transaction    CRMC_R3_ORG_GENERATE. This will result in creation of organization unit in CRM represting the ECC sales area.
    b. HR employees
This will requre HR integration to be activated, here the employees will flow from HR to CRM via ALE and will be maintained as business partners with the role Employees.
    WIsh this helps.

  • EMP Sales ORG in MobileClient

    Hi,
When we are creating OPP/ACT and when that replicates to CRM online we are getting an erorrs asking for 'sales group'.
I checked the EMP sales org. We assigned the EMP to Sales Area and not to the sales group under sales area. Right now in he table SMOMITABT table the org details to which the default flag is set doesn't have the sale group.
My guess is if i assign the EMPs to sales group under sales area i might not get this error but after i move the EMPs to sales groups will  I have to do the whole BUPA_MAIN for these changes to go to mobile client? As this is in our PROD system i do not want to do the whole load for BUPA_MAIN.
    Thanks in advance,
    karuna.

    Hi,
I opened an OSS regarding this and they got back asking me to implement the BAdI CRM_30A_USER_EXITS method USER_EXIT_UPLOAD_SALESDOC reading SMOMITAREA and find the sales area with the Sales Group and fill the org structure.
I wrote the BADI but still the mBDOc doesn't reflect changes i made. This is what i am writing in the BADI:
    FIELD-SYMBOLS:
    <fs_sdgen_object> TYPE /1crmg0/sdgen_object01,
    <fs_orgman>         TYPE bad_orgman_mess.
    DATA: lv_sfavbak TYPE smo_sfavbk,
              lv_vkorg TYPE smo3auart,
              zlv_sales_group TYPE SMO3VKGRP,
              zlv_sales_off TYPE SMO3VKBUR.
    Getting hold of the order
    LOOP AT salesdocgen_write-sdgen_object[] ASSIGNING <fs_sdgen_object>.
      lv_sfavbak = <fs_sdgen_object>-sfavbak.
      lv_vkorg = <fs_sdgen_object>-vkorg.
    ENDLOOP.
    LOOP AT bus_trans_msg-orgman[] ASSIGNING <fs_orgman>.
SELECT SINGLE VKBUR FROM SMOMITAREA INTO zlv_sales_off where VKBUR IS NOT NULL.
SELECT SINGLE VKGRP FROM SMOMITAREA INTO zlv_sales_group where VKGRP IS NOT NULL.
    <fs_orgman>-SALES_GROUP  = 'O 50000661'.
    <fs_orgman>-SALES_OFFICE = 'O 50000672'.
    APPEND <fs_orgman> TO bus_trans_msg-orgman.
    ENDLOOP.
    endmethod.
I tried using the variables for sales_group and sales_office. Also i tried putting values. Nothing works.
Am i missing anything in this code?
    Thanks,

  • Short Dump while copying Org structure from ERP to CRM

    Hello Experts:
We are trying to copy the Org structure from ECC to CRM.
We have a standard transaction 'CRMC_R3_ORG_GENERATE' to copy the the org structure from ECC or the IMG path:
    SPRO->CRM->Master Data->Organization Management->Data Transfer->Coppy ECC Sales Structure
We have a multiple assignment scenario where each sales groups are assigned to multiple sales offices and likewise, each sales office is assigned to multiple sales org unit in ECC.
This can be achieved by turning on the enhanced version.
In our current business, even though the sales offices and groups are created, but are not having relavance in the business, hence while running in the sandbox system, we ran the program to copy the structures in the standard mode(default) and we could copy it without issues and create the org units for every entity in CRM based on how the number ranges are defined.
What happens when enhanced version switch is turned on ::
While we turn the mode to enhanced version, The system automatically::
    - enhances the Function tab page in the ppoma_crm  transaction to include a grid table, in which you maintain multiple assignments of organizational units
    - generates an extra dialog box to the Organization tab page in business transactions for you to select the relevant assignment path for the organizational unit
    - adapts the consistency check in business transactions to take into account organizational units that have been multiple assigned
    Risk factor :
Once you have switched to the enhanced backend integration version of the organizational model you cannot return to the standard backend integration version. The system will also automatically make changes to the organizational model version in CRM Mobile Sales.
Also this structure will happen across all the clients in the system,so unfortunately cannot try in a sandbox client also of the new environment.
We are building our development box,so while running the above step in standard mode, the program gives a short dump due to long execution time even though we have the same amount of data as in our prototype system.
Also, we increased the idle time value to a very high value.
When I approached SAP OSS,I was told that it is due to the multiple assignment scenario, hence we need to switch to enhanced version in CRM before we run the copy program ( CRMC_ORG_R3_GENERATE )
I am not quite sure if the mismatch of the scenarios between CRM and ECC could be causing this short dump as we could run it in standard mode in our prototype/sandbox environment without issues even  with the same data volume as in the new development system .
I am looking for help from all the experts if they have come across similar issue and your recommendations/feedback if this can be corrected.
Appreciate your guidance/recommendation on this issue.
    thanks!!

In CRM Best Practices Building block C05 is the step by step description how to replicate Org. structure and some of employee's master data.

  • So Can I determine the business partners linked to user based on the assigned role and org. structure?

Hello, I am working on a SAP CRM 7 Sales implementation and we are implementing leads and opportunity scenarios. The current business organization model is that there multiple vertical and horizontal departments. This is typical matrix structure. This organization has done the segregation of its clients based on the verticals so every clients belongs to at least one or more Vertical department but Horizontal departments can contact all the clients. In the same way sales executives are also either belonging to one or more Verticals or Horizontal departments? Horizontal sales executive can create leads for any clients available in the system but a Vertical sales executive can only create lead only for the client belongs to his vertical and assigned to him. This can be achieved by creating organization structure and business partner relationship.
Now the problem statement is that few sales executives need work for both some Verticals and Horizontals at the same time. But requirement is that they should be able to do the both roles with single user id but multiple roles. So when sales executive is creating leads his vertical department, he should only be able to select clients assigned to his Vertical only but when he is creating lead for Horizontal department, he should be able to select any clients.
So Can I determine the business partners linked to user based on the assigned role and org. structure?
Please let me know if this is not clear also  note we are only using CRM WebUI no SAP ePortal.
Thanks a lot your help in advance.
