If I am thinking of purchasing a 2nd hand ipod Touch but the seller has lost the sales receipt - does that mean I am not going to be covered by the Apple 1 year warranty on this product?

You should not need the receipt.

to check the warranty date.
If it is not correct, the receipt will have to be faxed to Apple to update it to the correct date.

Lost my repair sales receipt. How do i get this?

Hey all
A few months ago i sent in my iPad to apple to repair a smashed screen. During the process, a page came up with the sales receipt, but i could not print it because the computer i was on was not connected to a printer (i saved the web page, but now the format is all screwed up and i cannot view it properly)
The problem is, i cannot find the sales receipt anywhere. it was not emailed to me, nor can i find it anywhere on online on the apple website. Furthermore, i do not know which area of technical support to contact for this.
I need the sales receipt to claim insurance from my bank for the repair
does anyone have any suggestions?

What did you lose? You library or the application? Check in the Applications folder for the app and in your Pictures folder for the library which contains your photos. What's missing?
Also what system and iPhoto version are you using?

PAYMENT AND RECEIPT RECONCILIATION

Hi All,
For payments and receipts to have a RECONCILED status, is it required to match them with a bank statement line?
Is there any way to reconcile them without creating a bank statement in Cash Management? We used to manually clear the payments, upon generating the Transactions Available for Reconciliation Report, all cleared checks appear on the report.
I need answers asap.

Hi Audrey,
On Cash MAnagement, System Parameters window, you have the option to mark the Add Lines to Automatic Statements check box. Based on this, the system will add lines to automatically loaded bank statements. This way, Payments and Receipts can be reconciled, getting the status of Reconciled but Unnaccounted (payments) and Cleared (receipts).

I haven't found any AirPrint-capable receipt printers. The Epson Mobilelink P60 series and the Star Micronics T300 will work over wi-fi, but not being AirPrint printers you'll have to find a third-party printing app that will work with them that would also work with your point-of-sale system. Epson has their own app, but I don't know about Star, though PrintCentral would probably work. The Epson now also says that it can print via Bluetooth:

It might be best to ask whoever developed the point-of-sale system you intend to use what they recommend.

Track Purchases/payments Sales/Receipts for 2 business units in 1 OU

We have one Operating unit and need to capture the liabilities/payables for 2 different business units. What approach can be undertaken to set up the liability account ?
Should we maintain 2 different liability accounts ?
If the same supplier deal with both business then at which point do we enter different liability accounts ?
How do we track the purchases made for each.

Ans:You can use two separate Sub Inventories for each BU

Ans: There is an Account Generator called AR: Substitute Balancing Segment: Replace Balancing Segment. Using the WF customization, I understand this could be possible. But it will not be supported by Oracle because before the receipt hits the Cash account it has to pass through several intermediary accounts like unapplied receipts, undentified receipts, Confirmation account, Remittance account On account receipt etc., Only R12 Subledger Accounting has the supported solution. If you are using Oracle Public Sector Financials, then there is a solution for this called Multi fund receipt in 11.5.10.
4. Just like we can setup different transaction types in AR, can we have some means to identify the purchase/invoices of the 2 different BU ?
Ans: You need to capture only through a DFF. But I feel this is not required when you run the AP Trial balance report, you need to specify the Liability account. So if you give in that as BU2, you are going to get only BU 2 related invoices and if you specify BU1, it is going to filter BU1 invoices only. If it does not happen also you can customize this report to filter in that way.

It would help if HP could fix the receipt for print out if it only printed on one page. I am aware one can choose pages and print only the selected page but a receipt for my business records means I do not wish to miss anything.

If you don't have the warranty info that came with your Mac, ask your retailer. He should be able to explain the warranty from Apple and any supplemental warranty coverage you may have bought when you got your Mac.

But you got it wrong in a way. The requirement is not three accnt codes for one row. Actually it is for three different purchase docs(A/P Inv). The client purchases in three categories. For eg.Some vendors give 2% disc, Some give 3% disc and other local customer dont give discounts. So the different A/P Inv will be posted in three different accnts One for one to the corresponding type. Not One into three.
The moto is when the ledger balance of the accnts will be seen the at a glance the user will know that what is the value based purchase done till date for these categories seperately.
Just refer to the fact that we have "Sales Revenue domestic" and Sales Revenue Foreign" in the COA. This shows us the value of rev from 2 diff categories.
Similarly is it possible to have different Expense Accounts where the purchase total will be posted and the category specific purchase value can be seen from the balance of that particular Accnt.

I was scammed by a sales person

last week, i visited the store to upgrade my phone. one of representative approached us and saying we, i and my husband were qualified for a free tablet. from the past experience, i know there is nothing like true FREE and we refused to accept an offer. however, he was saying we had credit of $50 and we could use it to have a tablet. after i and my husband spoke, we decided to take it with paying tax only for the machine. After that, he was installing some kind of program and asked us to provide personal information including social security. My husband works for mortgage lender and we are very careful with providing social number since my husband experienced so many bad situation. We asked him why we needed to provide social number and he told us that was the way they approved us $25 credit for each person. WE DID NOT KNOW WE WERE SIGNING CREDIT CARD CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD TO GET $25 SIGNING BONUS FOR EACH ACCOUNT. WE CLEARLY TOLD HIM THAT IF PROVIDING SOCIAL NUMBER LEAD TO CREDIT CHECK OR SOMETHING, WE WERE NOT AUTHORIZING THAT AND WE WOULD CALL SALES PERSON AND VERIZON FOR DAMAGE. HE WAS SMILING AND TOLD US IT WONT HAPPEN. AGAIN WE ASKED AGAIN WHAT WE WERE SIGNING AND HE SAID THIS WAS THE WAY TO GET $25 CREDIT NOT MENTIONING SIGNING CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD. A week later, as we thought, we received american express card. at this moment, we are seeking for legal action no matter what verizon and sale person are responding. I just need to find out the name of sale person and need feedback from verizon why you did such things to customers without disclosing entire situation. Please let know.

What the sales person was doing was setting up your tablet to use on Verizon's network. However as a customer Verizon already has your social security number why would he need it again?
My guess is you went to a Verizon reseller and not a corporate store. That was the need for the number.
You have or had 14 days to return everything and walk away. However that FREE tablet has a $70 restocking fee.
Pretty high price for FREE
Two year contract on the tablet is $240 ($120 per year)

Ah, gotcha'. In MN, you don't really get to bypass paying sales with what they call Use Tax (sales tax you're supposed to pay on taxable items when it wasn't applied by the seller). But virtually no one does since it would take an audit of your home finances and recorded sales receipts to prove you weren't charged sales tax and didn't pay it yourself afterwards.
I've seen iPhones listed for sale there before.
I'm sure I have in the past, too. But there doesn't seem to be any now.
One has to be careful and pay close attention to make sure they're actually buying from Amazon and not some shady outfit operating out of their mother's basement.
Yes! And I don't understand why they allow that. You're basically just garage sale shopping, or showing up at someone's home via a Craig's List ad, and hoping what you buy actually works. I'll still buy items from a third party, but only after I've checked their reputation by looking up reviews on them.
