SAP Connector View

Hi experts,
I am working on EP 7.0, and i am looking for the iview <b>SAP Connector iview</b> (as previously in EP version, as named changed now in latest version), so you guys can  guide me that which iview is the in EP 7.0.
thanks in advance
Iqbal Ahmd

Hi Iqbal,
You need to do three different activities here
1)Creation of System object at System Admin side
2)Assigning the system alias to the particular user
3)Creation of iView in the Content admin side
Creation of System object
->sys admin, sytem configuration workset
->system landscape page(The steps may vary in EP 7...I am doing it in EP6)
-Under portal content, select our folder, new system, select sap r/3 dedicated
->provide system name and id.->Finish
under the properties.....select connector:
Application host: enter the ip address of the sap-r/3
then provide the logical system name
enter the client number.........
server port...for sap-r/3 it is 3200
s/m type...select the sap system you are trying to connect with.
and under the user management property
logon method---uidpw
usermapping type--admin, user
save everything.
Now to create the system alias.....goto edit on the top right corner, select system alias.
provide name,for the system alias.
click add..save.
User mapping
->user admin role->user mapping ws, find out the user.now edit the user info....select system alias under system..
provide userid and pswd to enter into the sap system.
now got to Content admin to create an iView
here under the type of iView, select SAP Transaction iView, now select GUI for windows..select the system alias already created....transaction code is SE11...finish..
Put the iView in a page...ws, role...the usual stuff...
all the best..... Do include your mail id if you are looking for some docs.
Cheers.....

  • SAP Connector Proxy Wizard doesn't start

    Hi all,
I've just installed VS2003, the SAP .NET connector and the .net framework (1.1) on a freshly installed Windows XP pro machine. If I follow the various tutorials on the web I should be able to create a SAP proxy when doing the following:
    - start VS2003
    - create a new Windows Application (in C#)
    - Add a SAP Connector Proxy
    -- A wizard starts
And that is were it starts to go wrong. Instead of a wizard, I get the following:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>
    <wsdl:definitions targetNamespace="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions" xmlns:s0="urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/">

Does anyone know what could be wrong here?
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
With the newer version of NCo (> 2.0) there is no wizard. You would have to drag and drop the RFC/BAPI from the server explorer window of visual studio.
First open the solution explorer, click on the SAP icon. Specify the credentials. And then from the list of RFC/BAPI drag and drop on SAP connector proxy page(design view). You can also specify the filter to restrict the listing of RFC/BAPI.
    Regards.

The contractor that installed this, thinks the next area to look to is to see if the SAP EP has been configured somehow to stop outgoing http traffic from applications running within it... Maybe the EP is blocking outgoing HTTP access, although other components from the EP are working OK.
    How can we check this?
    Please advise.

  • Why sap.ui.view is just a method & not a constructor function ?

    Hey,
Every control in UI5 is defined as a Constructor Function, but why is sap.ui.view which is also a control just defined as a method !! Any reasons behind it?

sorry, the 'would you mind' wasn't meant to sound
snotty! its amazing how bad forums can be for getting
feeling across. I meant to say something like 'oh
hell, I can't see how to do this. I don't suppose you
happen to have an example lying around the place, do
    you?'
I'll give it a go...I sounded a bit harsh perhaps. Sorry.
I only saw someone give an answer and a couple of minutes later a follow-up asking for "example code", which lead me to believe you did not do any research/googling on what was suggested. I now read your original post and saw that you already knew of the AffineTransform class.
Anyway, when I want to see some classes "in action" I always go to http://www.exampledepot.com . It also has some snippets on how to use the AffineTransform class:
    http://www.google.com/custom?domains=exampledepot.com&q=AffineTransform&sa=Google+Search&sitesearch=exampledepot.com&client=pub-6001183370374757&forid=1&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&cof=GALT%3A%23008000%3BGL%3A1%3BDIV%3A%23336699%3BVLC%3A663399%3BAH%3Acenter%3BBGC%3AFFFFFF%3BLBGC%3A336699%3BALC%3A0000FF%3BLC%3A0000FF%3BT%3A000000%3BGFNT%3A0000FF%3BGIMP%3A0000FF%3BFORID%3A1%3B&hl=en

  • Create a new button in a sap-standard-view WD4A

    In webdynpro for ABAP
I have changed the text on an existing button in a sap-standard-view using configuration (change application configuration/go to component configurator/implicit configuration and then on the view-component change the text) it works perfect.....
my next step is to create a new button beside the old one with a new text on it, I created a new button by using "enhance view" (I copied the existing button) the new button appears (so far so good) but when I go into the configuration to change the text on the new button (using configuration the same way I did when I changed the text on the existing button) I  cant find my new button in the view-component list....why can't I find it there so I can change the text?
Can anyone help me this one?

I don't believe that the Configuration tool picks up Enhancement Objects because of the way they are linked to the original component at Runtime. Why set the text using configuration?  You can control the text within the enhancement object.  Do you want different texts based upon multiple configurations?

  • SAP Connector no longer working after upgrade

After upgrading from EP 6.0 SP2 Patch 2 to Patch 3, our iViews using the SAP connector framework is no longer working. No connection is obtained. Even the examples in the PDK has stopped working. It seems that maybe some files have disappeared (in folder ".../server/services/eisconnector/work").
    Any ideas?
    Hilde

    Hi Hilde,
    1. please have a look in the Visual Admin Tool -> Services -> EISConnector ans see if the SAP Connector is deployed there. if you see it there, so it is deployed.
    2. try to remove and add agian the SAP Connector (in the same place as from section one)
    3. why dont you use the last Portal Patch and J2EE patch?
    4. do you see any special exception in the Log file?

  • Open PDF file in Acrobat reader rather than SAP Document viewer...

    Hello everyone,
Whenever we attach a pdf file using Services for objects-->Store Business documents, an attachment list list is created and the file is archived in the repository.
If we double click on it, the pdf is opened in SAP Document viewer and not in Acrobat Reader unlike word document....
Can anyone tell me what configuration changes should be made and where so as to open pdf file in Acrobat?
Similarily what changes should be made so as to open Email files in Outlook?
Edited by: Suruchirazdan on Mar 31, 2011 8:33 AM

Which version of the Acrobat Reader do you use?
According to my experience with our desktop this might be a feature of ACROBAD READER X.
    Kind regards

    Hi Reiner,
One of my partners are having this problem...
    1. They are having a dev server of ip 200.1.12.xx and remote site has network with ip 171.xxx.xxx.xxx
    2. Another subsidiary needs to use NCo to access this server
    3. They are using two firewalls, one from Buiding A and another in Building B
    4. all ports of firewalls are open, there IP mapping from firewall in Building A to IP in firewall in Building B.
    5. Building A being the remote building, can log on via SAP GUI, however, unable to connecto via NCo
    6. What seems to be the problem and what can I tell the basis guy to check?
How does NCo support firewalls and waht is the best way to work around this?
    Your help is much appreciated.

  • SAP Connector: Retrieve Business Components?

    Hello,
i am evaluating the features of the SAP Connector. I deployed the login-data and checked the connection ("Success!"). Then I tried to import metadata.

I tried this both with 10gR1 and 10gR2.

  • SAP.Connector.Rfc.dll installing to 2 directories

I am installing SAPGUI Frontend components including the BW and BI add-on components on a Windows XP/SP2 system with .NET 1.1 already loaded.
I've read on this forum that SAP.Connector.Rfc.dll and other .NET assemblies are installed to the GAC, but I saw on a test machine where this assembly (and others) were installed to both the GAC and to the ProgramFiles\sap\frontend\bw directory as well.
Is there a requirement for the .NET assemblies to be in the bw directory ( or other private SAP directory as opposed to the GAC?   )
If anybody from SAP knows the answer, it would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

    Hi Sowmya C,
    How are you doing ?
Upon addition of any SAP component, the reference is added automatically.
However, in the event that the reference to "SAP.Connector.dll"
is not present, you can add it through the references tab, provided that the SAP.NET Connector is installed on the local machine [as this will allow you to add the dll reference locally, like you would reference anyother local assembly]
It is of type .NET dll

  • SAP connector info

I am working with SAP connector at a customer and I see that the versions supported by OIM is:
    SAP R3 4.6C (running on Basis 4.6C)
    SAP R3 4.7 (running on WAS 6.20)
MySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.0 running on WAS 6.40)
MySAP ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0 running on WAS 7.00)
The customer tells me that they have:
    Netweaver 7.0 (previously 2004s) and we are running ECC 6.0 w/WAS 7.0 (SP 18)
I do not see Netweaver mentioned anywhere in the SAP connector docs.
Can someone please tell me if the version at customer is supported by OIM SAP connector?
    thanks

As Netweaver is a totally different technical platform I would find it unlikely that it would be supported unless specifically stated.

  • SAP Connector 2 - Could not load file or assembly 'SAP

    Hi all,
I've recently installed SAP .NET Connector 2 and have been developing a basic C# web form to interrogate the customers table. I have created all my code and done a successdul build. However, when I try to run the web form I get the following error:
<i>Could not load file or assembly 'SAP.Connector, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=50436dca5c7f7d23' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.</i>
The SAP.Connector.dll and SAP.Connector.Rfc.dll files are on both my development machine and the server I am deploying the project on. Any ideas ?
    Thanks.

Fixed it myself. In the solution browser, expand the reference section and in the properties for the SAP.Connector and SAP.Connector.Rfc set the 'Copy Local' parameter from False to True. This fixes the issue.

    Hi,
SAP Connector for MS .NET is not currently supported on Visual Studio 2005.
Please check the article Using SAP Connector for MS .NET (NCO) in Microsoft Visual Studio 200 to learn a workaround that enables easy design-time connectivity to SAP back-end systems in Visual Studio 2005 by creating the connector proxies in Visual Studio 2003 and porting them to Visual Studio 2005.
