SAP R3 custom extract - trigger XI to map and send to Mainframe

Hello, I'm looking for the best way to occasionaly send table data (as decided by business user via custom transaction) from R3 business system to XI and eventually on to Mainframe. I'm OK with this latter portion of XI mapping, JMS / MQ config, and then on to Mainframe.
Here is my question. Our ABAP developer can create a BAPI to lookup the Ztable extract data for us in the R3 system. In this way, I would like to have it pushed from SAP rather than setting a polling interval because the extract will happen on a irregular basis. But to my understanding a BAPI is to be called / pulled rather than pushed. How can we best accomplish a push from R3? We are accustomed to using IDOCS but in this case it is completely custom.
I appreciate your experiences on what is the best method to use in this scenario.

Our ABAP programmer is willing to try it using the RFC approach but we are unclear on how to do this. I would be grateful for some more information such as:
Does anyone have a simple example?
When we use the RFC Channel as a Sender, are the RFC Server Parameters pertaining to the ERP system or the XI system?
How does the ABAP program on ERP system actually send data to XI?
Do we need to set up any special ports to do this?

BPM Syncron Sender Exception Processing , Mapping and Sending To Asyncronus

Im forming out a scenario in BPM where I should get the content of the syncron sending's exception and after all I would like to map the exception message content and send asyncronously. How should I grab and process the exception message in the exception branch of the block where the syncron send step located?

ok, I stand corrected. You can use a on-update trigger to capture changes. Thinking about it, you would have to create a where and when clause that would always return true. Like
Where [scenario].currentmember
when [scenario].currentmember <> [scenario].currentmember + 1
I would suspect you would wnat to use the logging for this not send an email. This will spool the before and after values. I have not tried it, but I don't think it captures the information on who did it. that is why I would go the ssaudit route. In 11.1.1 you have transaction logging.

I am working on a scenario in which i am to extract thew data from an ODBC database. and send it to Integration Engine using a file adapter. In this case which adapter i should use? If i go for file adapter then how i will extract the data and if i go for JDBCadapter then i can't send the data in the form of file which is my basic requirement.

Trigger changes to T000 and send an e-mail

Dear all,
I've enabled the table logging for our R/3 system (ECC 6.0 EHP6), activating the rec/client paramenter for the productive client; because I need to monitor the changes to T000 table.
Is there a way with "standard" components (I don't want to write any ABAP program) to define a workflow that "triggers" the "change event" and sends an e-mail to an external address?

Logic idoc-xi-seibel customer extract

Hi
I have to work on a scenario where I have to send the customer extract to the seibel system. Here the source system is ECC and I have a custom idoc through which i have to send the cusomer extract to the Seibel system through XI. There should be a logic to send all the customer data at first time and there after whenver there is a change in the customer details the changes should only be posted. It is not of my intrest .......to know the procedure to upload the extract on seibel sytem. just I want to know how to implement this logic in ECC System ??

We are having a option called change pointers, so by these change pointers we can genarate IDoc automatically when the data is modified.

SAP Query as extraction tool - any benchmarks 4 throughput/volume constrain

We are looking to use SAP Query as our extraction tool to create a large dataset for downstream systems. We also will allow the users of those systems to access our SAP system (4.6C) through SAP query for custom extracts. We plan on controlling this by custom coding our own logical database.
Has anyone out there got any benchmarks/metrics/success stories on any other SAP client that might have already done this? Our concern is that SAP Query cannot handle the volume we need to pull from the system, so we need to determine what the choking points of this solution is.
Please advise.

I already used sap query in the way you want. Additionally we added lots of abaps to the query as our extraction modules. Everything works fine. At least you will be able to do delta updates ...
The only issue we faces right now was, while loading time dependend master data. Therefore you have to load the data to PSA first and then you can update your infoobject. But there is an oss note out for this behavior.

We need to Extract data from SAP and send to an external system via Webmethods middlewear using IDOCs. I have never used webmethods before and would like to know more about how to implement this scenario. I have used IDOCS in an EDI scenario before but not used it along with WebMethods.

If you have already ABAP programs /BAPI's in place then try to develop RFC interface and write some back ground programs to scheudl BAPI's and develop scenario but you need to implement error handling , data validation in PI mapping level.
or
take help from ABAPer to design in ABAP like writing Proxy program to pull data and send it PI.
if you are dealing with master data bit risky(correctness) but can be achived using PI.

SAP R/3 Fields to BW InfoObjects Mapping Documentation

Hello everyone,
As a newbie, one of many challenges that I face is to map SAP R/3 fields to its corresponding InfoObjects in BW. I've learned that we can run transaction SE11 and view table RSOSFIELDMAP, in order to know the mapping between OLTP Source Fields and InfoObjects.
However, there are many fields that have not been mapped in this table, like PAYR-CHECT, PAYR-ZBNKN and PAYR-ZBNKL, to name a few.
So I just wonder, has anyone out there compiled this mapping into a document or published it on any web site?
Appreciate if you could let me know about this.

In help.sap.com, you can check out the datasource and the fields mapped from which table. Just check the business content section.

I find this extremely helpful when I need to find out the objects and the tables. Hope this helps.

Internal server error while connecting SAP's customer financial fact sheet with iOS device

I am trying to connect SAP's customer financial fact sheet latest ( version 3.7) with iOS phone/iPAD (version 7.1) but it shows internal server error,
when trying to connect Neither "Gateway (direct)" nor "SMP Cloud" enabled with port 80/443.
On other hand my android devices with this app is working ok.

are these LUNs shared or standalone?
I don't think it's really wise to have more than one DSM on the same server, so you're mixing the EVA and 3par DSMs and on 2003...
other than ensuring that HBA firmware and drivers are all up to date and DMS drivers are at the latest, not much else you can do from the host side...maybe update the storport.sys driver to the latest for that OS
are you sure that the HBAs are in fact supported/compatible with both storage back-ends? what about their driver/firmware/DSM versions - some SANs are very picky when it comes to this stuff, check the interop matrixes to find out
overall, if you don't need SAN connection to one of these storage back-ends, I suggest you get rid of it and its DSM
