Schedule Percent Complete doesnt 'roll up'

why the schedule percent complete doesnt ROLL UP to Project level ? how can I get its rolled up for the project level?

    I am developing a MS Project 2010 schedule in which the client would like to see an overall percent complete for process areas that repeat in lower level sub-projects.
    For example, the project breaks down into system types, then individual systems within those types, then process areas, such as CM, Maintenance, Provisioning, Supply Chain, etc., with each of these process areas breaking down into individual activities. What

    Then I'm not sure that it will help in doing what you need. Creating a custom field for entering % complete on tasks you're interested in would be the best solution. Anyway be careful concerning the rollup for total. If you choose average, it might not give
    a proper result, since if 2 tasks have a different quantities of work, the % complete of the summary task will not be the average of the 2 % complete.
    An idea would be to use a WBS for all projects, containing all process areas. Then using SSRS or Excel services reporting capabilities, you'll be able to extract horizontal % complete of process areas through your projects.

    I did try 'Work Complete'. I have a scenario wherein, for a task, the 'Work' is 50 hrs. 'Confirmed' is 25 hrs. 'Remaining Work' is 25 hrs. By this, I should get 50% as the 'Work Complete'. I get 0 in Evaluations.
    There's another field 'Percent Complete'. This is what I was looking for. I inentded rolling up the values for each task in a phase to the phase and finnaly to the project. But having not found the 'percent Complete' for the task, I am not able to proceed.

    I have know a problem, which occurs only that the project has direct underlying task.  If yes, I will find the note for it.

  • How to wait until an Entourage Schedule item completed

    I am trying to script the "Send & Receive All" operation in Entourage, and I have found that I can trigger the process off (from within my script) by:
    tell application "Microsoft Entourage"
    execute schedule "Send & Receive All"
    end tell
    However, the script continues to process while the scheduled actions take place.
    Is there any way to wait until the schedule actions complete and then process the rest of the script?

    I found out about "connection in progress" by looking at the properties of "application" in the Entourage dictionary:
    connection in progress boolean [r/o] -- Are there any network connections in progress?
    (In fact I searched through the dictionary for the phrase "connect".) The property is a boolean (true/false), and my script uses a "repeat while" loop to test for that boolean condition.
    As well as properties, the Entourage application object also has elements. These include "POP account", "IMAP account", "Exchange account" and "Hotmail account". These can be referred to "by numeric index, test". So if you pass a list of accounts to the "connect" command, Entourage will connect and download mail from those accounts. For example, if you have two POP accounts, this works:
    tell application "Microsoft Entourage" to connect to {POP account 1, POP account 2}
    AppleScript lists are contained in curly braces.
    But it's simpler (and less prone to error) to do this:
    tell application "Microsoft Entourage" to connect to every POP account
    Alternatively, the "test" lets you refer to individual accounts by name - a list isn't essential, despite what the dictionary says:
    tell application "Microsoft Entourage" to connect to POP account "My Account"
    There's many ways of skinning a cat.
    To answer your more general question, though, there is no one "user guide" for AppleScript. You can learn the about the basics of the language from the AppleScript Language Guide. But that will tell you nothing about how to script particular applications. This is because every developer, if they do implement AppleScript in their application (and lots don't), implements it in different ways.
    So as well as learning AS, for each application that you want to script you have to learn a slightly different set of commands. There's an awful lot of trial and error involved, but one way to learn is to look at scripts that others have written. There are good resources at Apple's own AppleScript page and at AppleScript Central among others. For specifically scripting Entourage, try Paul Berkowitz's scripts.
    Different people will also recommend different books. My recommendation is AppleScript: The Definitive Guide by Matt Neuberg, but again it's not application-specific.

  • Hours worked uncoupled from Percent complete

    It seems that the work hours and Percent complete are tied together (for updating tasks).  is there a way to remove this feature?
    I tried looking into the enterprise custom fields, but since it is a part of project OOTB, it is not there.   is there another place i can find and change this?
    or perhaps a workaround?
    for example,  i have 1 person assigned to a single 8 hr task,   due to some unforeseen circumstance, he has worked 6 hours and is only 50% done,  however, when he goes to his tasks to update his work, he can not enter both of these at the
    same time.
    he can either update to 50% done (4 hrs filled in automatically )
    or he can enter 6 hours worked (75% done filled in automatically, overriding his 50% done if entered)

       I would advise you to make your tasks as effort driven with a range of date for completion of task.  That would help you get actual reported tasks over a period of time with better accuracy.

  • Percent Complete: 100; Status: Failed

    Hello,
    I just upgraded machines and so had to reinstall my Pro apps including Compressor 3.0.3. Now when I use Motion 3.0.2 -> File -> Export Using Compressor and then launch the Compressor jobs they each fail. When I look at the Status from the Batch Monitor it says, "Percent Complete 100; Status: Failed" and the corresponding log entry is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <services></services>
    The motion file was copied over for rendering properly but there is no resulting movie file. This is true across multiple shots. What might have caused this from a fresh install of Pro apps on the new iMac (10.5.2)?

    I've found that I can get a movie file with an uncompressed 10-bit option but not 8 bit also. Why would this be? (The initial compression that keeps failing is H.264.)

  • Task Percent Complete and Actual Dates - RELATE TO STATUS

    We are on PPM 5.0.
    For Project Management (cProjects), we have a requirement whereby task status should not be set to 'Complete' unless:
    1. The Percent Complete is 100%
    2. The Actual Start and Actual Finish dates have been entered.
    Is it possible to realize this?

    %age completion is independent of the status of the task as per standard SAP PPM 5.0. You'll need to use BADIs in order to meet you requirement.

  • IPhone will not ring if locked even when Do Not Disturb is not on. Even when the sound toggle on the side is not red.  This problem occurs regardless of whether it I have Do not Disturb on (manually, or scheduled) or COMPLETELY OFF.

    iPhone will not ring if locked when when Do Not Disturb is not on and the phone is not on silent (button on side is not red).  This problem occurs regardless of whether it I have Do not Disturb on (manually, or scheduled) or COMPLETELY OFF.   I've tried wiping the phone and reinstalling from a saved copy but of course the problem comes back because the problem is inherent in the save.   There are two options under "Silence" at the bottom of the Do Not Disturb preferences.  "Always" or "Only when iPhone is locked".   Those are the only two options and I want neither.  No amount of deselecting will work.  It forces you to pick one.  
    Does anyone have a solution given that I've better explained the problem? 

    The settings at the bottom of the Do Not Disturb page do not matter if you have the switch for Manual turned to off, or the Scheduled turned to off.
    When the phone is unlocked, if you try to raise the volume of the ringer, what do you see on the screen? Does it say ringer, do you see the word headphones anywhere?

    I've been staring at this for too long now and I'm sure there is a simple solution that has completely escaped me.
    I have the following table:
    PROJECTS
    Product
    Project
    Status
    Budget
    Values look similar too:
    ProductA Project1 Planned 300
    ProductA Project2 Planned 200
    ProductA Project3 Contracted 500
    I want to create a graph that shows the percent contracted for Product A
    Question One: What is the best graph to select
    Question Two: How should I get the numerator (sum of contracted projects only)
    This give me my total budget:
    Select null link, product, sum(nvl(budget,0)) from PROJECTS
    group by PRODUCT --> ProductA 1000
    This gives me my total contracted budget:
    Select null link, product, sum(nvl(budget,0)) from PROJECTS
    where status in ('Contracted')
    group by PRODUCT ---> ProductA 500
    But I can't seem to get sum(budget) / sum (contracted budget) in the same query. Do I need to put it in the same query or is there a way I could set this up with a particular graph? Ideally I would like to see a graph similar to the 10g Express Edition. Any help would be appreciated. I have read through many of the post and documentation but I need something a little simpler since I am new.

    What I'd like to see is this grouped by status - for some reason SQL does not like a grouping function:
    select product, status,

    Basically I have many products, and for each I'd like a graph that looks like:

    (sorry for the crude graph)
    From a business point of view, this tells me 50% of my budget is committed to contracts.
    With your suggestion, it seems I am on the right path, but I am having difficulties isolating the sum (or ratio) of my contracted projects.

  • Lightroom Mobile iPhone won't import complete camera roll. Why?

    Several re-installs and crashes later, I'm still not able to bring in 900 images from my iPhone 5s' camera roll.
    Though there are something like 900 photos and videos, LR mobile only brings in about 250. And when I browse the thumbnails for those 250, many of them are just black boxes. And that was my *best* result. Earlier attempts resulted in LR crashing during the import process, with "delete and reinstall" being my only option. Even manual one by one imports after the initial import attempt of the camera roll don't seem to be working.
    I was so excited by the LR mobile sync, but the majority of my iOS photos are on my phone. Would love to get this working!

    Could you try the import after  a "Delete Data" via Lightroom Preferences->Lightroom Mobile and a resign-in.
    When you add new photos to your mobile device, Lr mobile needs to import the photos locally and send previews+metadata to the back-end. It seems that some of this data was not send.
    If you still see the issue while processing the import could you trigger a diagnostic log.
    The Lr Mobile app log can be triggered when you open up the settings and long press the to LR Icon a diagnostic log will be generated and attached to your local mail client.

    You can trigger the log via LR Desktop prefereneces -> Lightroom Mobile and when you hold down the alt key you will notice a generate diagnostic log button

  • IR reports scheduled in workspace doesnt send out emails.

    Hello Everyone,
    Please input your experinces or valuble suggestions for our issue.
    We have several Interactive reports scheduled through the Hyperion Workspace and the scheduler sends out the generated reports to the users via emails in excel, PDF, web archive and MHTML.
    Recently some users are complaining that they are not receving the reports though there emails are in the distribution list. My email is also attached to the distribution list and I receive the reports without any issue. I have checked the log and its shows that job went successfully without any errors and also displays that particluar user's emails too.
    I also get a notification to my email everytime the job runs and it is successfull all the time.
    We are unable to figure out why this is happening to only particluar users.
    Any ideas? Anybody experienced the same issue? We are on version 11.1.2.1.

    Hi,
    I have changed the order of the distribution list and waiting for a confirmation from the users but we are having a new issue.
    One of the scheduled job is not sending out the emails to anyone. I tried to run the report manually and it runs perfectly. Right now we are exporting the file in the format 'Microsoft Office Web Archive.'
    The scheduler was running perfectly untill 5/18 but didnt sendout after 5/18. I have ran report manually and exported as Web Archive and observed that the file size is 17MB. I have checked the previous outputs and all were under 11MB from the time since it was scheduled.
    I suspect this is because of the file size. I have also did a trail run by changing the export option from Web Archive to Excel and it did send out the report and excel file size was 3MB.
    Any ideas on this limitation? We are on version 11.1.2.1.

  • Ticking a reminder as complete doesnt update to all devices

    My reminders currently show on both my iPad and iPhone when they are due. When I tick a reminder to show it complete, it will only show as complete on the device I am currently using and doesn't update to all my devices.
    In the reminders app, the reminders do show as iCloud reminders. Does anyone know if I can set it up so that regardless of the device I use, marking a reminder as complete will update to all other devices?

    Sorry, you can't extract those photos from the old device unless you restore the new phone from that backup.
    You could of course use a third party software to extract those pics but it will cost you.
    If you still have the old phone import those pics to your computer and then sync those photos to your new phone via itunes.

  • Percent Complete for To-Dos (Tasks)

    I am pleased with my new MacBookPro because it promises to work, and so far so good. I am converting from mean Microsoft to just-works Mac.
    But I am not excited about the capabilities of the tasks in the to-do list. Both iCal and Entourage are overly simple. Over the years that I have been using the task lists in Outlook I've developed quite a reliance on the sorting capabilities - in particular. For example, one of the main sorting fields that I use for planning my day is the "% complete" field. This field helps me to sort my list indicating tasks that might be require very little remaining effort before they are accomplished.
    Can you tell me how to accomplish this kind of function on my Mac?
    I am willing to purchase a third-party software, if that is what it takes. But with more than 500 tasks that I track in my to-do list, trying to get by on the standard features of iCal is just not going to work for me. What are some well-worth-the-price third party softwares out there that do provide this?
    Similarly, I also use a project code field (custom field I created in Outlook), the "deferred" & "waiting on someone else" statuses, and more than one task folder. So any feedback on software options that would include my whole "wish-list" would be really helpful. Likewise, save-your-money tips would be great as well.
    Any way, let me know what you think. And thanks for reading this.
    P.S. It's only such a long list because I have tasks like "change the air filter for the house" and reminders for Daylight Savings Time Changes, etc in there in addition to habits I am trying to learn. The recurring reminders are a wonderful weapon against my saturated short-term memory! lol

  • Percent Completed CHANGES! 41% to 11%!

    I have been compressing a file for 4 days now and yesterday the status read that 41% was done.
    Today, I checked it out and it says 11%!!!
    What does this mean?

    Hi,
    You cannot change the material codes of the existing material instead u have to create new material codes with 11 digits for the existing materials along with any new materials.
    For your old material codes u have to complete all the open orders and all the stocks to be exhasted before u should take further steps.
    Now after clearing all the stocks of the old materials, u can archive all those materials since u cannot delet the material master which have been already created.
    Hope above gives you some idea abt ur requirement.
    Anyway wait for some more experts to reply.
