SCUP publishing errors (signature verification fails)

I have been unable to publish updates with full content in SCUP since getting it set up. Here is the environment:
Config Manager 2012 R2 environment
Installed SCUP on CAS (running Server 2008 R2)
Configured SCUP to use proxy
Here are the steps I followed to get it set up:
Used IIS Manager to create a certificate request and got certificate from our vendor.
Imported cert into local computer Personal certificate store.
Following
System Center Updates Publisher Signing Certificate Requirements & Step-by-Step Guide, exported .pfx with private keys for SCUP and exported .cer without keys into the Trusted Publishers and Trusted Root Certificate Authorities on the SCUP/CAS server.
I also configured a GPO to deploy these to clients.
Set up the Adobe catalogs, then tried to publish a reader update. Metadata updates work OK, but a full content publish generates errors.
These are the germane errors I am getting (with server name changed to something generic):

I have a followed or looked at a bunch of potential fixes but no dice. Any ideas?

That might be the vendor of the cert but does not tell anything about the type of cert. It has to be a code signing one - otherwise it won't work.

  • Signature verification failed

    Hi all,
    I've been seeing a really weird problem with signing my HTML5 extension for Illustrator. I'm using the ZXPSignCmd tool to create a .zxp bundle and sign my extension from the command line. I'm able to install the extension using the Extension Manager, and I've also been able to distribute it to a private group through Adobe Exchange. It installs just fine, and runs great the first time, but after closing Illustrator and reopening it the extension often fails to load and just shows a blank window. I'm on a Mac, and looking at the log file here shows the following error when it happens:
    /Users/<<userName>>/Library/Logs/CSXS/csxs-ILST.log
    2014-12-17 10:18:02 : ERROR Signature verification failed for <<extensionID>>
    This is the only indication I have that it is a problem with the certificate. It seems really strange that it installs without errors and works once, but then fails when trying to load again. I was using a self-signed certificate, but I just bought a certificate from DigiCert to see if that would help, but I'm still having the same problem.
    This actually happens very rarely on my machine, but happens frequently to my other users. I assume this is somehow because I have been doing the development on this computer, so something is different about my extension environment.
    Has anyone else seen this issue at all? Does anyone have any tips that might help me to debug this? Other log files to look at, potential problems with the certificate or manifest file? I've tried about everything I could think of, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    James

    Nailed :-)
    For the folder you might save files into, there are few tokens in CEP:
    /* Identifies the path to user data.  */
    SystemPath.USER_DATA = "userData";
    /* Identifies the path to common files for Adobe applications.  */
    SystemPath.COMMON_FILES = "commonFiles";
    /* Identifies the path to the user's default document folder.  */
    SystemPath.MY_DOCUMENTS = "myDocuments";
    /* Identifies the path to current extension.  */
    /* DEPRECATED, PLEASE USE EXTENSION INSTEAD.  */
    SystemPath.APPLICATION = "application";
    /* Identifies the path to current extension.  */
    SystemPath.EXTENSION = "extension";
    /* Identifies the path to hosting application's executable.  */
    SystemPath.HOST_APPLICATION = "hostApplication";
    Otherwise you can rely on JSX folder tokens such as Folder.appData, Folder.userData etc (see a complete list on pages 56-57 of the JavaScript Tools Guide pdf) and create your extension's own folder.
    Mind you, CEP extensions should support both indexedDB and localStorage - one of them might fit your needs.

    Hi guys !!!
    I am running the report from the SDCCNN - RTCCTOOL, but I get the following error message:
    1. Digital signature verification failed
    Description -  The verification of the recommendation content using digital signatures has failed. Therefore recommendations were suppressed.
    Implementation -  Consult SAP note 69455 if there is a known issue with content verification. If you do not find a solution open a customer message on SV-SMG-SDD.
    When I Goto - Digital signatures Activate button digital content verification is disabled.
    Then go to the transaction on the client STRUST 000 and I found the certificate: SSF SAP AGS Online Content View The certificate shows:

    What is the process because I'm not clear and can not find another OSS note or the SDN forum to tell me what is wrong is happening.
    Thanks guys for the help I can provide.

    Hi all.

    Everything points that may be an inconsistency error external certificate which is in the DB. Anyone know how to fix this.
    Greetings.

  • The device has encountered an unexpected error. Installation error: application verification failed

    the device has encountered an unexpected error. Installation error: application verification failed
    I have been receiving this message over and over again when trying to publish my iOS app for the app store (I use Flash cc AIR 3.9.1.1080 for iOS and my settings are: "device testing in interpreter mode", as my app uses several swfs).
    I have done everything from scratch, as recommended on other sections of the forums: new app ID from my apple developer account, new Distribution Certificates, new Distribution Provisioning Profiles and nothing works.
    I can install my app on my iPad if I use the development Certificate and Provisioning Profile and everything seems OK. But as soon as I use the Distribution Certificate and Provisioning Profile get the same message:
    the device has encountered an unexpected error. Installation error: application verification failed
    I have done everything from the beggining over and over and nothing works. Am I the only one having this issue on Flash cc???

    Hi Daniel:
    I´m far from being an expert on Xcode (or any code) but this is what I did and it worked:
    - On Xcode go to Preferences > Accounts > select your App Developer Account, then click "view details" on the lower right corner.
    - There you can see which of your "Signing Identities" (Certificates) are "Valid". You should have at least one for Development and one for Distribution.
    - Below that window there are two icons which you can use to add, export or revoke a "Signing Identitie" (Certificate).
    - Choose the one you want to use (Develop. or Distrib.), export it to the folder of the app you are working on and name it in such a way you can relate it to your app. Before knowing this I was exporting them using Keychain Access and I wasn´t naming them to differentiate each one properly.
    - On your Apple Developer account create the Provisioning Profile for your app. I deleted any App IDs or Prov. Profs. which were useless.
    - Then on my Apple Developer account I generated a Development Prov. Prof. to install and test my app on my iPad. All went fine.
    - Then an Ad Hoc Prov. Prof. again to install and test my app on my iPad. All went fine.
    - Then I generated the App Store Prov. Prof. and I was able to install the app on my device without the upsetting error.
    - Then I uploaded the app to iTunes Connect with no problem.
    These link was useful for me: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/technotes/tn2318/_index.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/D TS40013777-CH1-TNTAG0
    You can also search for "Certificates" and "Provisioning" on Xcode help.
    Good luck!

  • Signature verification failed for PolicyAssignmentID

    I am in the process of setting up a new SCCM 2012 R2 server.  I have just begun to add some test boxes to the environment and every server thus far is registering in SCCM but is not pulling down its policies.  When doing a policy retrieval evaluation
    cycle the below is
    immediately spit out in the PolicyAgent.log file.  Any help would be
    appreciated!
    Signature verification failed for PolicyAssignmentID {XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX}
    Raising event:
    instance of CCM_PolicyAgent_PolicyAuthorizationFailure
     ClientID = "GUID:F504615C-04F8-462D-B341-265C2FAEE7E7";
     DateTime = "20140708132926.819000+000";
     PolicyNamespace = "\\\\.\\ROOT\\ccm\\policy\\Machine\\RequestedConfig";
     PolicySource = "SMS:RET";
     ProcessID = 3532;
     ThreadID = 4320;

    It seems I have resolved my issue.  The cause was in the AD publishing.  I'm not sure if some parts were corrupt or simply missing but after removing the AD forest from 'Administration\Hierarchy Configuration\Active Directory Forests' in the
    SCCM admin console and re-adding it back SCCM was able to republish the needed info.  Then after a few minutes to allow for replication I was able to run a machine policy cycle which pulled all of my policies down!

  • WSUS Role on Server 2012 R2 fails - SQL Server Error "Schema Verification Failed SUSDB"

    Server is Windows Server 2012R2
    After installing the WSUS role with WID, when running the post installation task it installs the SUSDB in single user mode, runs all its scripts but then when it tries to set it it MULTI mode it fails with the error:
    Schema Verification Failed SUSDB
    If I log onto SQL Management Studio and try to set the database SUSDB to MULTI user mode manually it fails with the same error.
    Detaching, deleting the susdb.mdf and .ldf files and re-running the post-installation task fails on the same error.
    Uninstalling the WSUS and WID roles, deleting the C:\Windows\WID folder and reinstalling everything once again gives the same error during post installation.
    Seems like a nasty bug.
    Does anyone have any ideas? Perhaps there is a way to debug "Schema Verification Failed" errors in SQL Server?

    Hi,
    If the WID can't access "C:\Windows\WID\Binn\DBVerify\SUSDBVerify.dll", this issue may occur.
    Please change the account of WID to local system account in services.msc, then restart the WID service.
    Then try to start the post-install again.
    If issue persists, please check the detailed information of WID log.
    Best Regards.

  • When I try to set-up iCloud, I get error message "Verification Failed"?

    When I try to set-up iCloud, I get error message "Verification Failed - The certificate for this server is invalid. You may be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "setup.icloud.com" which could put your confidential information at risk."  How do I get passed this message?

    The only messages I'm aware of are the ones that say that you can't move to iCloud right now because servers are too busy and that you can continue using MobileMe.  I'd try to go back to iClound in your Settings and give it another try.

    Also make sure your firewall has the required port open (1433
    default) and if you are running 2003 on the SQL box, especially if
    you ran the security Wizard, make sure the IPSec is allowing the CF
    box to communicate with it, and vise verse.

  • Verification failed! codec overrun!

    So this is a brand new MacBook given to me yesterday as a Graduation present. I haven't been able to download anything (such as MSN messenger for Mac and Firefox for MAC, both of which have been downloaded from Apple website). I have tried probably fifty times. Each time I get the same error message 'verification failed' and then 'codec overrun'. I've called Apple three times today, and had to reinstall my software three times. Nothing has worked.
    The Mac people don't know how to fix it.
    Help anyone???

    I'm getting this same error, from Firefox AND Safari. I'm using a TiPB/867MHz with a gig of RAM. I did the archive install (which mucked up my Apache2/PHP install, but that's another story), I did AppleJack.
    Once I did the "downgrade" from 10.4.11 to 10.4.6, I was able to download the two Java updates (20 and 36MB - ????) but I can't download the 10.4.11 update at 186MB.
    I also can't download things like Plone, iWork '08 demo, and a lot of other things. BUT I went to my Intel Macbook and the same links download fine.
    I thought it was bad RAM, but I ran Techtool and everything checked out OK. Applejack didn't find any problems either.

    Hi,
    Is that SQL Express edition? If so perhaps TCP protocol is not enabled. Is Windows firewall turned on? Check port 1433 is open.
    Normally you would not create a datasource to apache port 8500, that is a web server not database server port.
