Search and compare in an external directory

I am still a relative neophyte to the world of ColdFusion,
but I have created some fairly sophisticated real estate
applications. I have an issue that I need to solve and I’m
not sure exactly how to approach it. I’m thinking that the
solutions will most likely involve some ColdFusion and perhaps some
other techniques, but I’m not sure.
Here’s the situation:
Located on a server that is external to my application is a
directory that has in it a large number of image files. The image
files are all named under a very specific naming convention. These
images are for real estate listings, and the filenames are the MLS
number for that listing followed by _1, _2, _3, etc. depending on
how many images are associated with that particular listing.
What I need to be able to do is: (a.) check for the existence
of any image associated with a particular listing (some may have no
images) and (b) count the number of images associated with a
listing by performing some sort of search an compare function with
a count.
I have no idea if this is possible using ColdFusion or what
would be the best way to tackle this. Any suggestions would be
appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Joe

the images reside on another server that isn't running
ColdFusion so I
will need to find a solution that doesnt involve CFDIRECTORY.
You can use cfdirectory on the coldFusion server just as long
as you can
log into that server as the user under which the ColdFusion
service is
running and then navigate to the images server though the
file system.
Now the default ColdFusion user is "localSystem" on windows.
And this
user would not normally have any permissions to resources not
on the
local box. But if you can provide a user that does have the
necessary
permissions then this kind of cross network access is quite
easy to do.

  • Script that make search and replace based on external configuration file

    Hello!
As I have to make a lot of string replacements on text file, I need to write the script that takes values from separate file. It can be on this or other format:
    old;new
    Search_string;Replace_string
I have searched the web and only found this
thread  but the script download link on this
thread does not function (I have played with import-csv and loops, but I think that I have a lack of the Powershell knowledge to realize this).
    Any help would be appreciated.

    One possibility:
    'old;new',
    'Search_string;Replace_string'
    ) | set-content replacements.txt
    $replace = (Get-Content replacements.txt |
    foreach {"replace('{0}','{1}')" -f $_.split(';')}) -join '.'
    $string = 'old stuff Search_string'
    $newstring = Invoke-Expression ('$string.' + $replace)
    $newstring

  • Photos moved from an external HDD to another: Search and replace paths?

    Hi everyone,
I've been using iPhoto for a few years now and today I have iPhoto '09. I never let iPhoto copy my photos in its library when importing them, since I have most of them stored on an external hard drive. (Also, if the folders within the library would be properly dated like "2008-09-07" and not named like "7-Sep-2008" and "8-Apr-2008" making the former getting listed before the later, and if I could easily manage external volumes, I would be happy. But, I suppose that's a job for Aperture or Lightroom.)
I have moved my photos from a small 160GB external hard drive to a new 2TB external hard drive. The problem right now is most of my photos in iPhoto can no longer be displayed. It offers me the option to locate a file every time I open a photo, which I can do, but doing the same task for each and every picture among thousands is daunting.
To manage photos not stored within its library, iPhoto creates an alias to each picture file. I found a Bash script allowing me to perform a search and replace on all symbolic links in a specific directory. However, the problem is aliases are not the same as symbolic links.
Is there any way for me to perform a search and replace on all the aliases within the iPhoto library in order to make them point to the new hard drive now containing the pictures?
By the way, I'm also having a similar problem with iTunes:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2190505

This issue is the main reason why I never recommend a Referenced Library. Some folks have had success using an app called _[File Buddy|http://www.skytag.com/filebuddy]_ to reconnect the aliases. If that fails then I'm afraid then you will find yourself reconnecting them manually.
Running a Managed Library this issue simply doesn;t arise. And of course, you can easily run a Library from an external disk and easily move Libraries between disks.
Should you wish to consider converting from a Referenced to a Managed library, then AliasHerder is an application that will replace these aliases with the actual files, and so preserve your Library and all your work in it. As always: back up first.
How iPhoto names the folders within the Library Package is irrelevant as you never access them that way.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
*For Users of 10.5 and later*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
*For users of 10.4 and later* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
For users of 10.6 and later:
You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and later:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • How i configure external directory and email

    hi every one
i have just installed and login to oracle beekeeper successfully. now i want to intergate the external directory to my active directory so that all users in it will be mapped in oracle beehive secondly i can use them for email purpose.
i am really new to oracle beehive , i have read the administration manuals. but still confusing how to start , the parameters in external directory creation for active directory cannot understandable for me, what does authectic attributes means.
kindly guide me in this regard and secondly if any image base document avaible so that i configure it through that.
    regards
    Oraclebeehive new user

    Hello,
The primary Authentication Attribute, is just the LDAP attribute you will use to be able to log on Beehive
That can be an UID, the email address, the cn or with AD the sAMAccount
    eg: uid: 123455667
    mail: [email protected]
    cn: firstname.lastname
these attributes and their associated values are on AD and must be available for ALL employees as well as UNIQUE.
Often the email address, the UID or the sAMAccount have unique value.
    Hope that help
However, You may want to take some days of expertise to help you on this setting. That will simplify and speed up your learning curve and Beehive implementation.

    I am using SUn acess manager 7 2005 @4 patch 5
I have configured a realm to point to external directory .I am able to create the user in the subject tab. Able to authenticate to the user in realm and set its security question.
But when i try to reset the password using /ampassowrd?relam=realmname
I get an error message Error
The password cannot be reset for this user.
    1) When i check the logs i find that user is being searched in amconfig direcectory and not the external directory which the realm points to?
    2) Also if i create add in datastrore the amsdk as well and create the user reset it get created in both external directory and amconfig directory? Then i am able to reset the password but it changes only in amconfig directory and not in external directory?

  • Search does not work. Put something in search, press search and nothing happens

"Search" in the middle of the page does not seem to work. I put something in there, press search and nothing happens. I have to go to the top right hand corner (Google) and put it in there and then it takes me to where i want to go. Once there if i want to use search it works once it has taken me to a web site. How can i fix this?

    Hello Albert,
the web dynpro applications for internal and external candidated existed with eRec 6.0 SP 7 (or 9 depending if we count delivered or working ) so the were available before SES and are working with the old TREX setup as long as the SES business function is not activated.
As a general issue you could check IMG node "Assign Search Template Groups to Search Applications". The web dynpro applications use new CompIds (the ones with capital letters). Check if the Ids are existing (you might need to compare with client 000) and if the Search Mask Group Ids assigned are correct.
Furthermore check the application log (SLG1). If there is some configuration issue in the search masks a log entry should be written. If you need assistance with the log entry, just post it here and we will see if we can help.
    Kind Regards

  • FR: - Export to External Directory

In the old version you could set multiple directories in the fr_scheduler.properties file.
    The guide indicated:
    Note:
When Export to an external directory is selected, the enabled drop-down menu is populated by folder locations specified in the fr_scheduler.properties file in the <FinancialReporting>\lib directory on the Hyperion Financial Reporting Scheduler Server computer. Here is a sample from that file: # ExportFolderLabel1=ExportFolder1 # ExportFolderPath1=\\\\{machine name}\\{export folder name} A system administrator must determine all the folders where exports are permitted. Contact your system administrator to specify a different folder location.
Does anyone know the syntax in the new file for 11.1.2.2. I searched and couldn't find the reference to the new settings and how to organize it.
We want to have multiple file directories show up in the drop down as needed.

In this version it is added via FRconfig.cmd.
    follow below steps:
    Logon to FR report server
    Go to Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\financialreporting\bin
    Run FRconfig.cmd
    Click Mbeans
    Expand .com.HYperion
    Click Financial Reporting
    Click Attributes
    Click ExportFolders
Specifies the folder locations when exporting and deploying
    a book as html.
    The syntax should be:FolderLabel1=FolderPath1,
    FolderLabel2=FolderPath2, and so on.
    Example: export1=e:\\exportfolder1,export2=e:\
    \exportfolder2

  • Does the labview 8.5 project have a search and replace option that appies to all vi's in the project?

In 8.2, the only thing the project has to let you search for a vi is "Find vi's on disk", which is redundant since I can do that in windows explorer.  What I want is a way to search for vi's in my application the way the search and replace function works, except I want it to apply to all vi's in a project instead of just the vi's currently loaded in memory.  Do we have this in 8.5?
    -Devin
    I got 99 problems but 8.6 ain't one.

I'll give an example of what I was trying to do yesterday in 8.2.  I tried to build a source distribution of a large instrument driver.  Since its an instrument driver there is no single top-level vi that contains all vi's - there are different categories of vi's to do different functions on my instrument.  When I'm doing the source distribution I have to do it in several stages since 8.2 doesn't do source distributions right - but thats not really what this post is about.  Anyway, every time I do the distribution I get an error saying CnvrtArrayIntoBitPattern.vi is password protected (and another engineer wrote it and I don't have the password).  So the build fails.  Now I don't know the password, I'll find it out later, but I at least want to know where in the hierarchy this vi is even being called.  I don't know where it is on disk, I don't know what is calling it, it isn't in the project explicitly, it's a dependency.
If I had a top-level vi that loaded everything, I could just do a search and replace on that vi and find exactly where it is being called in seconds.  But since I am in a project and have no idea where to start looking, there is no way I can find this vi.  Ideally, in 8.5 there would be a search and replace menu option that searches all vi's in a project to find any calls to this vi.  I want to look for all instances of a vi in my project.  It sounds like you still can't really do that in 8.5.
What I ended up doing is writing a vi that opens all vi's in a folder hierarchy on disk.  I don't know where this vi is, but all vi's in my project are in the same root folder.  So I run my program to open every single project vi.  Then since I know every single vi is open and loaded simultaneously I used the search and replace function on one of them to find all instances of CnvrtArrayIntoBitPattern.vi.  But that is a painstaking process to create a simple search function.
I think NI is maybe misunderstanding how people are actually using a project.  Not every vi that is being called is going to be explicitly listed in the project.  (Its this same issue that makes source distributions impossible in 8.2 - you can't target dependencies to a support library so every dependency has to be explicitly listed in the project - which is virtually impossible because they are all in different locations and there are hundreds.)  Most people have lots of general purpose vi's they use in many different projects, and they are buried down in code so we aren't even sure where they are all being used.  The new searches you mention assume you already know where the low-level function is and you are looking for their callers.  But sometimes you don't even know where the low level function is.  What if its an NI directory function?  For example, "resample waveform.vi" is an NI function that changed its defaults in 8.2 which meant we had to find every single place we used it and wire "open-interval?" to a constant instead of depending on the default value.  Its in an NI library somewhere and is never listed as a project vi.  So when I needed to find every place through every project that I used this vi, I couldn't do it through  the project manager because there is no search function.  To be practical I add the project-specific vi's to the project, and maybe a couple support directories, but there will always be lots of vi's as dependencies.  But every now and then I'm still going to want to search for one of these vi's.  So in 8.5 there is there still no way to search for vi's that aren't explicitly listed in the project?

  • How to move Event (not necessarily connected to Projects ) and projects to new external drive

I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and iMovie11 9.0.4 have a had very stressful time trying to clear down the Movies folder from my internal drive and get it across to a new external hard drive, as my 700gb drive on my 2009 iMac is practically full. I have taken a full back-up and also created a new 1.5 TB partition on the external drive. However I do not know how to get the Events and Projects across, and for iMovie to know that every thing is now on the new drive.
Initially I copied the 2 folders using finder, which seemingly worked but then I discovered that iMovie did not display the the new events, so I deleted the 2 folders from the external drive and tried manually moving the events in iMovie. This was very slow, with lots of spinning wheels and eventually iMovie crashed. So I moved the new Event copies I did manage to create into trash, but still iMovie was crashing.
I then, thinking something had become corrupted, I  tried to restore the Events folder and Projects folder from my backup, but that did not work as I got a message saying the there was not enough space to do the copies (why does it need extra space as I assume it would be overwriting the existing folders ?). So in desperation I did some forum searching and ended up deleting the com.apple.iApps.plist. Now iMovie seems to be working fine, and is displaying al the events from my internal drive (I have ejected all other drives), and I am back to square one (hopefully), however for some reason the 'month' folders I had previously created in each Event 'Year' have disappeared and all the, for example 2013 events, are now under the 2013 folder with no Month sub folders( I assume this is something to do with the preferences I had deleted ?)
I am hoping someone can direct me on the right path for getting the Events (not all of which are used in Projects) and Projects across to the new external drive, so I can free up space on the internal drive (and install Mountain Lion - my end goal).
I have been  trying to do all this since 0600 this morning, so if anyome can help it would be very much appreciated.
Jim (now grabbing a much needed beer !)

Do the external drive show up in iMovie 11?? I just drag and drop in iMovie and don't touch it or change in finder.

  • If i move my iphoto & iMovie source library / Events and Projects to an external hard disk, due to size, will my existing slideshows work ?

I need to move my photo library and Movies (Events and Projects) to an external hard disk as my 700gb drive on my iMac is now full (*see note below)
I have brought 2 Samsung External drives (3TB each) which I plan to partition each for Photos and Movies i.e 2 partitions on each drive, and will use one for use with iPhoto and iMovie, and the other drive for a dedicated backup. I will backup the remainder of my iMac hardisk to a seperate disk.
What has just occured to me is that after I have moved the libraries I cannot see how existing iMovie projects and iPhoto Slideshows will work, as each Application will be looking for the source files on the original iMac hardisc (I assume).
I am running Snow Leopard v10.6.8 ( I did not want to upgrade to Mountain Lion as I was told the iPhoto and iMovie changes were a 'backward' step. However I now want to upgrade to Mountain Lion, for security updates reasons mainly, and so need to free up my hard drive.
Can anyone advise on the best way to proceed ?
    * - the iMac hard disk become full very suddenly, possibly due to duplicates, as I have noticed duplicate events and clips in my iMovies event library. I have noticed that some events are also now not showing, with message 'No video clips match the current selection' (I have not search criteria set).
    Thanks

I was planning on manually backing up my external to the time capsule - but is there a way to set it up to back up automatically instead?
Time Machine will backup up automatically - you can not have your iPhoto library on the same volume as the TM backup (it will not work and it would not be a backup)
Dragging the iPhoto library to any external drive will backup it us also
I was also thinking about having the library copied to another external (I mean we're talking about irreplaceable photos here) - would i just drag a copy of the library to that drive as well?
Yes - that is a good idea - I run TM giving me hourly backups and a daily clone of my entire system giving me a bootable backup - plus do an occasional TM backup at our second home so I have one off site
is it possible to deal with my imovie library in the same way? so all my movies and photos are on my external?
Probably - but I use iMovie very little - better question for the iMovie forum

  • How to save an output job into external directory in Workspace 11.1.2.1 ?

    Hi All,

  • What kind of mac would I need for Nexflix, basic search and email? Also, sounds silly, but can I connect an HDMI from Mac to tv?

What kind of mac would I need for Nexflix, basic search and email? Also, sounds silly, but can I connect an HDMI from Mac to tv?

Just an FYI.  The Macs named PowerMac date from early 2006 and before.  Use this tip to discover where to post once you get your Mac:
Site map of Communities and Categories
The cheapest Mac available new is a Mac Mini.   It is no bigger than many an external hard drive.  But the screen and keyboard and mouse must be purchased separately.  They support USB and Bluetooth keyboards and mice, and pretty much any DVI, HDMI, or displayport display.   Although the iMac is certainly an attractive option if all you want to deal with is deciding on a printer.   I still recommend getting an Apple USB keyboard for the occasional times you may need to troubleshoot startup issues.  Normally not a problem, but as it gets older some issues can be fixed at startup or diagnosed at startup.

  • Batch File Search and Replace a String

I've written a batch file to handle the copying of files.  I'm trying to reduce the number of parameters that I pass to the batch file.
I want the batch file to perform a string replace on the directory path that is passed as a parameter to the batch file.
Here is how I run the batch file:
    COPY_FILE.BAT C:\DATA\FTP_DATA\ACME\IN      (I'm passing directory path "C:\DATA\FTP_DATA\ACME\IN" as parameter %1)
So my batch file will copy a file to the directory path represented by parameter %1.
But then I want the file copied to a second directory.  I want the batch file to replace string "FTP_DATA" in the directory path with string "FTP_DATA\ARCHIVE"
I know I could pass this path as a second parameter, but I want to limit the number of parameters so figured I could have the batch file perform a search and replace on string "FTP_DATA".
After searching the internet, I thought I found the answer by using the following command in the batch file:
    set ARCHIVE_PATH=%1:FTP_DATA=FTP_DATA\ARCHIVE
But it doesn't perform a search and replace.  It just appends to the directory path with the following result:
    C:\DATA\FTP_DATA\ACME\IN:FTP_DATA=FTP_DATA\ARCHIVE
What I want is the this:
    C:\DATA\FTP_DATA\ARCHIVE\ACME\IN
    Any suggestions?

Your syntax is not correct. Example:
    @echo off
    setlocal enableextensions
    set ARCHIVE_PATH=C:\DATA\FTP_DATA\ACME\IN
    echo %ARCHIVE_PATH%
    set ARCHIVE_PATH=%ARCHIVE_PATH:FTP_DATA=FTP_DATA\ARCHIVE%
    echo %ARCHIVE_PATH%
    endlocal

  • How to overwrite a log and bad file in external table in oracle 10g

    Hi,
I have used external table in oracle 10g.whenever use select query in external table orace internally create one log file in specified directory,
but this log file is growing. How can i overwrite the log file(old to replace with new).I need overwrite a log and bad file in external table.
    kindly give the solutions.
    By
    Siva

I don't believe that is possible with the LOGFILE clause, but it may be with the BADFILE clause. Here is an excerpt from the documentation :
The LOGFILE clause names the file that contains messages generated by the external tables utility while it was accessing data in the datafile. If a log file already exists by the same name, the access driver reopens that log file and appends new log information to the end. This is different from bad files and discard files, which overwrite any existing file. NOLOGFILE is used to prevent creation of a log file.
If you specify LOGFILE, you must specify a filename or you will receive an error.
If neither LOGFILE nor NOLOGFILE is specified, the default is to create a log file. The name of the file will be the table name followed by _%p and it will have an extension of .log.

  • Internal vs. external directory services best practices

    Hello everyone,
We have two distinct directory services here where I work, one that supports 'internal' needs, and one that is used for external clients, the people who use our web-facing applications. We are limited by the separation of the directory services. E.g., our internal users cannot use the external directory service to look up email addresses.
I have been asked to look into design options and best practises. Is it common to have distinct services like this? Or are those external users usually part of the same service as the internal users? Is my online banking account information in the same directory service (assuming it is in a directory service at all) as the employees at my bank? Does it make sense to run separate services like this? What are some alternatives?
Part of the integration problem is AD vs. Sun Directory Server. The external service is in Sun Directory Server and predates AD. The AD service is obviously here for the Windows environment. Some organizations I have worked with in the past used Sun LDAP as the authoritative source of data, and synced in one way or another into AD.
    Any feedback is appreciated,
    Mark

No, what I am looking for is architectural input regarding the use of AD and a separate LDAP server. In my case I am talking about AD and the SJS Directory Server, but this would apply to any environment that has AD plus some other LDAP server.
I need to be able to reasonably answer the general question: Why should we keep the SJS Directory Server, when we could just put all our LDAP data into AD?
I also need to answer the more specific question: Given our LDAP data is external users only (customer, partners), does it make sense to keep them there? Again, why not just put these "external" entities into AD?
I'm not trying to figure out how to get AD and LDAP to work together. I'm trying to figure out why I have two directories, and why I should or should not keep two directories. I've found nothing online dealing with what should be a very common scenario.
