Selection creating in Infopackage

Hello Gurus,
I Have a doubt in selection conditions in Infopackage,
Where i am loading a full upload and i need to pick the data with 100 selection like
abc/india/01
abc/india/south/02
abc/india/03/north
....and more , ahere abc/india are common in all the selections......
can i give abc/india/* for all
if not....plz suggest

The code can be lets say ur field is X
logic i have used is i will take abc ie first three chars by x+0(3) and will delete the records apart from that starts wid abc
delete data_package where x+0(3) ne 'abc'.
so this will only load the records that start wid abc and will delete everyting which start widout abc as the first letter

Debug ABAP Routine in InfoPackage:
Put a loop on the routine,
data : debug(1).
do.
if debug = 'X'.
exit.
endif.
enddo.
And when run infopackage, go to sm50.
On that process, menu program->debug program.
In debug screen, type in debug, and fill with X and click 'edit'-pencil icon.
F5 to next step.

Exclude selection parameters in infopackage

Hi guys!
I've been asked to create an InfoPackage to extract "all product types except <specific type>".
If I were in an R/3 Abap Report, it would be easily achieven by passing an 'E' in the "sign" field of the corresponding select-option. But since I'm to do this in an InfoPackage, I don't know what to do.
I tried by using an abap routine in the InfoPackage, but i get the message:
For sel. field 'PRDHA', no selection with SIGN = 'E'; OPTION 'EQ' allowed
Does anyone know a way to do an exclusion parameter in an InfoPackage? Thanks!

Hi.
You can exclude values by including all the values around the ones you dont want:
Let's say you don't want types 103 and 506. In your infopackage, input three intervals:
001-102
104-505
507-999
You can add more rows for your product type selection by hitting the "insert duplicate row" button, next to the check-button on the bottom left corner.

While sheduling at the last ..by clicking the context menu of our created IP Group.. I am not getting any screen to schedule the same..(I am getting amessage at the mottom saying its not possible to run it in the back ground for my client workstation or similar to this)
Could u plz let me know.. what it looks like for these remaining steps
"Right click on the InfoPackage Group that you just created -> Schedule -> Check that all InfoPackages are selected -> Schedule the job just as you normally do with a InfoPackage."... thansk again.. assigend points...

To create one infopackage for two cubes

iam new to bw and have a problem ,how to create an infopackage for two infocubes and load data into them.Thanks in advance

I believe you are working in BW 3.5, then in the Infopackage select the tab :"Data targets" and select the radial buttom "update in all data targets for which update rules exist". Surely, if there are no update rules you will not be able to load data.

F4 help for Selection fields in Infopackage not available

Hello Friends,
I have created a datasource in Bi7.0 .while creating this i have put selection option X(selection possible) and Selection option 3(EQ & BT) for the three characteristics in the datasource and activated it.
When i am creating the Infopackage for loading the data to PSA, with in infopackage in Data selection tab, when i am selecting the characteristic value for the above chars, the system says "Datasource does not exist in the source system of version A"
Why am i not able to select the values here?
Please let me know friends if you have any idea?

Enable 3rd party selection tab in infopackage

HI,
When i create my infopacakage for 3rd party datasource, my 3rd party selction tab is not enabled to give any inputs. Could anyone pls guide me how to get it enabled.

I created the infopackage on Third Party i.e. ETL source System . In that Infopackage there is tab name as "3rd Party Selections". In that tab I have to give selection for the ETL workflow which will process the data from ETL to BW. And that tab is in the disable/ display mode. So question is how to make it enable or in the active mode to provide 3rd party selection condition?

Tab "Data targets" is missing when creating an InfoPackage

Hello,
when I´m creating an InfoPackage in the maintain screen, the tab "Data targets" is missing, although there are some active transformations to InfoProviders. In tab "Processing" the option "Only PSA" is selected and all other options are greyed out.
Does someone knows the reason? How can I definde the Data Targets to be processed in the InfoPackage maintain view?

1.First of all, while creating transformations , mention sorce as Data source and target as Infocube and the same is for DTP creation also. Then we will get Data targets under "datatargets" tab.
2.As far as my openion is concerned,It will only works.. if we have the requirement to load Monthly data to one Infoprovider, yearly data to second Infoprovider and weekly data to third Infoprovider then we need to create three DTP's for for respective Infoproviders.In this case we can select appropriate Infoproviderwith respect to DTP's.

I have iPhoto 11 installed on my iMac. Has been working for last several months ok. I am trying to create photo books but it gets hung up after I select create book. Does not create the project. Used to work but won't create any projects

After I select "create" it does nothing. Used to work Ok. Program seems to stall and do nothing. I can still look at events and other picture files but it will now not create a "project" / "book" Anyone with a similar issue????

Use ABAP Routine in Selection Tab of Infopackage

I am trying to use the ABAP routine in the InfoPackage SELECTION Tab to "EXCLUDE" a value. For example, I want to load all the Material types, except ZUN1. But, when I write in the ABAP, l_t_range-sign = 'E' instead of 'I' or l_t_range-option = 'NE' instead of 'E', I get an error saying these values are not permitted.
Is there any way to exclude any value from Selection in the InfoPackage?

You have two options:
include everything you want in your IP
load everything and exclude what you don't want in the start routine in transfer rules
No other ways...

Unable to have field in selection screen of Infopackage

Hello Gurus,
I have a small problem,
I am unable to bring on field in selection screen in Infopackage,
even thou the object is ticket in DataSources selection option,
I have noted that the object is of type DEC is it something to do with,
Or is their any other way to have this object in selection screen of Infopackage,

Bhanu its field type is DEC thats why its not coming in selection screen in Infopackage .This is a big problem in our Development as this field is SPRIO(Procurement Priority) and we want to restrict this field with conduction SPRIO EQ 1.
Our DataSource is based on Infoset , Bhanu is it possible to restrict this Field in Infoset writing some code. As their is option in Infoset for CODE we tried this but didnt work.
or any other way to restrict this field with 1.

Data selection tab of infopackage

hi all,
how do we select data from infopackage if you do not want a certain value?
I wrote ABAP code to select not as:
L_t_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
L_t_RANGE-option = 'NE'.
L_t_RANGE-low = 'Y'.
But I got errors. Sign 'I' with 'NE' is not allowed. Please advise.

You can use SIGN equals to I only and option values EQ, CP and BT.
Try append all the required values. use BT as well as eq.
If you want to permenantly exclude those to BW. you have 3 good options along with Infopackge Selection.
1. <b>User Exit in the Source System.</b>
2. Start Routine in the Transfer Structure.
3. Start Routine in the Update Rules.
