Selection printing not active in photosmart C6280

I am using this printer with Windows 7 Premium and on my Safari browser I cannot select part of a page to be printed it is not active I can only select pages not just a paragraph . Is there a fix for this?

Thanks for the post. Windows 7 premium, can you select area using Explorer? How about Chrome or another browser? I've attached a link here to the APPLE support, I might also suggest posting this question there. Good Luck!

When I try to print from web page I get a dialogue box "Printer not activated - error code 30" followed by a dialogue box "An unknown error occurred while printing". The printer works on websites when I use Internet Explorer. Also, if I copy the web page and paste it into a Word document, I can print a copy. This issue just started this week; I have not encountered this problem prior to this week. Please advise.

Activation error: Printer not activated, error code 20

I have had my officejet 4215 all-in-one printer well over a year and it has connected and printed whatever I wanted. Yesterday when I wanted to print an email it would not and the following box popped up: Activation error: Printer not activated, error code 20. Then the next box that popped up said: Printer Error An unknown error occurred while printing.
If I copy the email over to a Microsoft Windows page, then i can print it fine.
Any idea how to fix this so I can print email's like I used to?

Selection printing not printing correctly.

Every time I try do Selection printing, it doesn't print the content correctly. It will print all the pages for the web page blank and print the highlighted content where it belong in the pages. Before it would print just the selected content and nothing else.

Duplex printing not available on Photosmart 5510 properties window

My Photosmart 5510 All-in-One has avery limited choice when I go to properties options i.e no duplex printing (which I use regularly) no choise for colour , gray or black and few others diferent options. My old HP Al -in One had a fantastic number of options to choose from for printing.
I've noticed that only the Basic driver is downloaded and installed and I can not get it to download and install the full version. I have tried with the installation CD it came with as well as directly from HP web site.
Can anyone help?

Is there a link for installing the Photosmart 5510 all-in-one on a Mac with OSX? My friend needs to have draft mode available and I will be installing this new printer for her. Too bad it doesn't offer duplex printing.

IPhone 4.2.1 print not working with Photosmart B110a

I can access the printer web page from Safari, but "Looking for Printers" finishes with "No Printers Found". iPhone then loses WiFi connection and password has to be entered again.
Any suggestions for getting this working would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. My printer is: "Photosmart B110a"
I can print fine using the HP iPrint application, but when I try to print using the default printer on my iPhone (ie from Mail) I get "No Printers Found"
We're using WPA, with an EnGenius AP, and Cable connection to the internet.
Does the printer need to be able to connect to the internet? I saw some other user saying that the printer updated and they were able to print. Currently we connect through a managed Linux firewall.

Yeah, agree with Milos. Please provide more information for further troubleshooting.
From your initial subject it seems you are facing issue with printer activation on your server. The error may be caused if the wrong printer is set as the default printer, the printer driver is missing, or if there are conflicts in the device manager. Please
make sure below 3 steps whether it’s get some workaround.
Step one: Make sure the desired printer is set as the default printer
Step two: Re-install the USB Composite Device from Device Manager
Step three: Reinstall the Software for that particular printer

Photosmart C6280 print hung in queue since new wifi network installed.

I am running Windows 7 on my laptop. I just created a new wifi network and my Photosmart C6280 is attached via cable to the router. Now my print doc from my laptop goes wirelessly to the print queue but does not print. How can I make it begin to print?

Here something in the router is the printer IP set so that the computer knows what IP to print to? I know on my network printer with a Netgear router I have to set two IP address for both printer so that when I install printer software it knows where to find the printer and set the right print driver to the right printer. Did you do that? I could be that it can't find the printer on the network so that is why it gets stuck in the queue. You have to make a Static IP printer address so the print software knows where to send the print command to.

How do I get my HP Photosmart C6280 All-In-One to scan?

I have updated to Mac OS 10.9 the driver for my HP Photosmart C6280 All-In-One, but the scanner function no longer works. The Apple update list shows the update was performed on October 30.
The printer does not show up in the list of printers as a "Bonjour" printer, as the instructions from HP's website indicate it should.

I understand you're having issues printing/scanning with your Photosmart C6280 since upgrading the 10.9 on your Mac. I would like to help you with this as best I can.
The reason your having issues is because the HP software you're using is not designed for the 10.9 operating system. The last full software package HP released for the Photosmart C6280 was for 10.6, so the best option at this point would be to use the in operating system drivers.
To get everything to work properly again, I'm going to link you to how to completely remove the HP software so you can use the Apple software as Sunshyn2005 has described in her post. Once you follow those steps to begin using the Apple software you may not know how to scan using the Apple software and you can learn 3 different ways to do so.

I would like to assist you today with resolving the error message 'Printer Not Activated Error Code 20' that you're getting on your Windows 7 computer when using your HP Deskjet F2440 Printer.
To start troubleshooting can I please have you click here. When the support document opens please run through Step one, Step two, and Step three. When you get to Step three for reinstalling your driver, please click here to access the latest driver for your printer series. Once the website opens select the Download button on the top left.
Once troubleshooting is complete, please test your printer again.

Why do I keep getting default printer not supported?

Acrobat X Pro - "Select" Button Not Working In IE8

Windows XP, IE8, Acrobat X Pro
The "Select" button on the toolbar was working initially. I didn't use it for a while. Then when I went to use it again, it doesn't work. The button "clicks" (toggles lighter and darker) when clicked, but nothing happens when you try to select things, everything just behaves as if Select is not active.
Is this a known problem? Is there a fix?
I love the Select feature, and would love to get it back.

Photosmart C6280 All-in-One Printer Will not acquire IP Address

I have happily had a Photosmart C6280 for some time now, however I recently replaced my router and my ISP Cable Modem (NetGear WNDR 3700 and Cisco 2100 respectively). At first everything was wonderful. Sadly, my NetGear router went bad and I had to return it. As it stands right now my printer will not take an IP address from the router. I have tried everything I can think of, several times and nothing has changed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software on the Windows 7 and XP machines that I'm using. I have tried to manually set an IP address but on my printer when I'm done inputting all of the information there is no "enter" option. Looking at the Connectivity Status page it states : Network Interface Adaptor Summary

On the front of the printer: Setup > Network > Reset Network Defaults.
Now, set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wired along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you know what that is, set an IP outside that range but no higher than 254 (the last number in the address). If you do not know this, enter the current IP address.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Leave the gateway and DNS blank. Click 'Apply'
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

Photosmart C6280 Not Printing Black Ink

HI.
I have 3 of the HP Photosmart C6280 All-in-One Printers and they have now all got the same problem. When I print or scan anything no black ink is printed.
I have tried 3 different ink caritriages including the official hp ones with no luck.
When the printer does a test print, it prints all the other colours except black.
All ink cartirages are full except the pink one. Does this need to be full? It has not been on the other 2 and the black ink has still printed.
Any ideas?

I've just spent the better part of my day trying to figure this out with my photosmart C4580.
long story short: I noted the instructions for storage of cartridges when not in use (print at least once/month; if you take a cartridge out, store it in a ziplock: color with nozzles down, black with nozzles up.)
So I just took out my black cartridge and sat it upside down/nozzles up for a while, maybe an hour, until I noticed black streaks.
I put it back into the printer, printed black text & it FINALLY printed black, albeit streaked.
cleaned the print cartridges and now it's PERFECT!!!
give it a shot!
