Send to back or front in Acrobat Pro10.x
Hi folks, I read a thread for older versions of Acrobat Pro that did not work. I was editing some text and moving some objects on a document and then I added a new text object to the page. After I did that, I could not select any of the text or objects underneath the new box that covered the area. What was odd was that the area box, if deleted, deleted the entire area where I had previously been editing. I tried to find a "send to back" layering feature, but could not find one anywhere. Is it not possible to send to back or bring to front? And why did adding a new text object to the page make the rest of the page inaccessible?

It's not directly possible to change the stacking order with a tool or contexct menu in Acrobat X (that feature was added with the new Edit Text and Images tool in Acrobat XI).
If you open the Content tree (right-click the left sidebar and choose Content) then you can drag/drop the items to affect their rendering order, but it can easily corrupt the rest of the content on the page.

Hello.
Is there any way to order comments, such as the bring to front or send to back commands that are used in Word, AutoCAD, PDF Xchange etc? I need to get my comments in front of the various arrows and things that I have scatterered around my drawing mark-up.

Bit of a shame, this one. Looks like another reason why I have to keep the PDF Xchange viewer on my PC, despite my company having shelled out for Acrobat X Pro for all of us. That software allows me to order/flatten comments and insert images as well. I'm not advertising the rival software, you understand, just hoping to pique Adobe's interest in sorting out the most basic functionality before getting more carried away with portfolios and the like.
Does anyone else know whether the order of comments can be changed? -

I bought a new laptop after mine was stolen. I also purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro on Disc. I then realized my new steady state laptop doesn't have a CD drive... Can I download the software with my serial number or do I have to send it back and purchase the downloadable version?

We would like to create a PDF form to collect sensitive information (phone numbers, payment information) from our customers. Ideally, we would like for them to be able to fill it out, then hit a button to encrypt it when completed, and send it back to us for us to view. Kind of like sending out an open, self-locking box for them to fill, and once they close it no one can see the contents without the key (which we would have).
I’m using Adobe Acrobat Pro XI (11.0.07) on Mac OSX (10.9.4).

Each of your customers needs to have a digital certificate with a private key and send you the public key version of his/her certificate. You also need to have a digital certificate with private key and to send each customer the public version of your certificate. Then after each customer fills in your form, she encrypts it with certificate encryption entering as recipients herself and you before sending this PDF to you. This way only this particular customer and you can open and see PDF filled with sensitive information.
This workflow presumes that you and each of your customers can procure a digital certificate (Digital ID in Acrobat-speak). -
How do you reorder the pages in a PDF ie back to front (not individually via Page view)

How do you reorder the pages in a PDF ie back to front (not individually via Page view). The manual solution of course is to scan or import them in the correct order in the first place. However, this did not happen, and we have many PDF's which are 100% in the wrong order. So we would like to press a button and have them in the right order.
Many thanks in advance for your help...Got it to work. It returned a completely different path of course just to make life interesting and required a FN+OPTION ENTER in order to return the path. I now have the FLATTEN option in the edit menu.
Just trying it checking all the Flatten options except the fields seemed to work on the first pass. I'm going to try and load a copy of the original complete document. I assume that is the proper way to use this at this point since I created the form ***-backwards?
I've used Adobe layout programs since the Aldus days but Acrobat seems to work differently than any other program I've used.
If I understand what you're saying I should:
1. Design the layout of the form leaving spaces for the fields
2. Open Acrobat, import the document
3. Auto-add and correct, or manually add the fields
4. Fix tabbing
5. Add any additional comments or annotations
6. Flatten everything but the fields? (If the fields are flattened I can't fill out the form unless it's supposed to be a printed form only, right?)
Might just have to break down and RTFM. Acrobat is a really different animal. -
PDF form sending data back as FDF

I created a pdf from a Indesign doc and opened it in acrobat 9 to use form wizard, I successfully managed to save and send the pdf from my mac to my partners pc. He was able to fill in the form but when clicking the submit by email button it was only sending me back the FDF file. I checked my settings on the submit button but had checked the box for 'PDF the whole document'. I had notes from an earlier version of acrobat and it stated that after I have created the form and saved the mailto button etc, under 'advanced' I should click on 'Enable usage rights in Adobe Reader'. Yet I could not find this so I tried 'Extend features in Adobe Reader' but this stills sends me back the FDF file which I cannot access the data from.
Ideally I would like the pdf to come back rather than the FDF is there any way this can happen?

Let me give you a scenario.
The user clicks the button on the JSP it sends the primary key value or user id to the servlet.
The servlet calls my session entity beans and returns data base on that call.
At that point the servlet has the data. Even if I set it in the session object in the servlet, I will have to populate the jsp how?
Do I set the values on the jsp from the servlet or within the jsp itself? Use setparameter, setattribute?
The button click starts it all off, but when the servlet is done processing, will I need to detect some other event in the jsp if I want to to populate the fields from within the jsp?
In other words, if I put code in the jsp to populate the text fields after the servlet is finished executing, what triggers the code ((YourObject) request.getSession().getAttribute("your key")) to process inside jsp?

Windows always "send to back" when I open an application, so I cannot edit anything
Hi,
I just updated my "OSX Snow Leopard" to OSX Lion last night. But something wrong with the windows when I first use the system today.
When I only an application such as MAIL, after about a second, the window will be "send to back" automatically - the window became gray and I cannot edit anymore. That means I can use the window for one second then I have to clike the window again to let it in front!
That drive me crazy. Any suggestions?
Or just tell me how to reinstall the OSX Lion system!
Thanks.You may have the Safari window in Full Screen mode. This is where an app's window (Safari in this case) takes up the full screen, as a "space." When you run another app, the Safari full screen space moves over to take you back to the Desktop space, to open the window for that other app.
To take the Safari window out of Full Screen mode, move your mouse pointer to the top of the screen, to drop down the Menu Bar. At the top right corner of the screen, cick the button with the two arrows pointing in. This takes the window out of Full Screen mode, back to the Desktop space. -
A basic question I know... I've searched high and low and cannot find the "send to back" in XPro, so when I drop signatures etc on the document, the block out lines etc.
There's no such thing in Acrobat. What you can try to do is set the fill
color as Transparent. -
Creating Back navigation in Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard
I have a huge pdf - actually an e-book - of more than 350 pages. Each page contains a health therapy with certain words hyperlinked which go to an explanation in the glossary, which is towards the end of the document. This means that the reader could click off page 9 to find themselves in page 320, and then after they've got their explanation, they will want to return to their original page (9).
So how do I get them back easily?
On Acrobat 7, there was a way of doing this. And it is explained here in this tutorial:

The way to do it is found in Lesson 4, Section 3. It says:
* In the Actions pane select the "Execute a menu item" then click on the "Edit" button.
* The Menu Item dialog box presents itself. Select, from the menu, "View>Go To> Previous View.
My problem is that none of these navigation titles such as Actions, or Bookmarks Properties, or Execute a Menu Item appear in my Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard.
And I'm not even sure whether Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard can perform this navigation tool, or whether it is only available in Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional. I rang Technical Support, but they didn't know. So they referred me to Customer Services, but they didn't know. So Customer Services referred me to Sales, and they didn't know ...

The problem is that the form has to be filled out and then submitted via email, as you mentioned the email clients have trouble, I do not have a problem with the amount of submissions as I do not think I will ever hit the max on the form.
I have been doing some digging, can I use "Extend Forms Fill-In & Save In Adobe Reader" function on the form so the users can fill out the form and then save it? And if so are you also able to have the "submit Form" function with this or can it only be one or the other?

I can't sign on to icloud. It says I need an icloud account. I click the help option it send me back to the same page. I reinstall it nothing.

I often record songs at a particular tempo, iTunes Match will then match it and send it back to me at the original tempo, is there anyway I can stop some songs from being matched. At the moment I have turned match off. But I would like to sync playlists.
How old was this backup? It sounds like it was at least several weeks old.
You can look directly in the TM backup for the music.
1. Connect to the external HDD the backup is kept on.
2. Open a Finder window and select the backup drive in the left hand panel. Double click into the folders until you see a list of folders with dates.
These are the incremental backups. You can start at the top or the bottom of the list but I suggest you double Latest/<HDD Name>/Users/<Account Name>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. From this location you can start looking for the "missing" music. When/if you find it you can simply drag-n-drop to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music on the internal HDD.
If the music is actually not in the backups (for whatever reason) then you've got a problem.
You can download the uploaded files from the cloud by deleting the affected tracks from the iTunes library (but not the cloud!), highlighting multiple tracks at once, right-clicking and choosing "download." -
I bought an iPod touch 4th genertion in August 2013. About 3 weeks ago, iTunes told me an update was available for my iPod so I clicked update. It then said it had detected an iPod in recovery mode and I had to restore my iPod. I tried to restore it when another pop up appeared saying an unkown error occured and it was unable to restore my iPod. I talked to someone on the online help page and they said I needed to talk to someone on the phone because it was too complicated to explain. The first person I spoke to on the phone could not identify my problem so she got her supervisor who said I needed to send it in for repair. I sent it in and yesterday I received a brand new iPod in the mail with a letter saying they could not fix my old iPod and this was a replacement. I plugged the new iPod into my computer to restore it and everything was fine. It said my software was not up to date so I clicked update and the exact same thing happened with the new ipod. It told me to restore my iPod and then said it was unable to be restored. They replacement arrived yesterday. Should I send it back?
What is the exact wording of the error message? It may be that there is a problem with your computer and is causing the problem, not a problem with the iPod.

Officejet pro 8100 does not print pages in "back to front" sequence
officejet pro 8100: I cant make it print pages in the sequence last page to first page even tho I have set the default printer preferences to "print back to front" AND I have specified "back to front" for the particular print job.
I am using this 8100 as a WIRELESS printer.
Yesterday it worked OK.:
I did NOT turn the printer off over night.
Today it will only print in first-to-last-page sequence.
I have tried the following:
turned printer off; and then on.
rebooted windows 8.1.
rebooted the router.
confirmed that it WILL print in first-to-last-page sequence for each test.

When you print an 8 page document FRONT TO BACK page 1 comes out on top.
When you print an 8 page document BACK TO FRONT page 8 comes out on top.
Is that correct?
