Sender Filename to Determine Which System to Send IDoc to

I have a situation where I'm retrieving a file on a server that will have one of three file names:
example.sendto1.file
example.sendto2.file
example.sendto3.file
so I'll use the 'wildcard' * to pick up the file like this
example.*.file
but what I want to do is depending on the * part of the file name I will have to send the file as an Idoc to different sap servers, so
sendto1 would go to one server and
sendto2 would go to a different server
since it's an IDoc, I can't use variable substitution in the reciever.
Any help on this will be appreciated, I'm generous with points.

Paul,
This can be easily achieved by using Dynamic configuration (ASMA) and Enhanced receiver determination.

  • Semantics File Sender Adapter to determine which files to retrieve

    Hallo,
does anybody has experience with this semantic?
    Thanks in advance,
    Frank
    From the FAQ-List of file-adapter(Note 821267 , Question 27).
Q: Which semantics does the File Sender Adapter apply to determine which files to retrieve from an FTP server?
A: Up to and including SP13 the File Adapter will issue an NLST command (see RFC 959) with the configured source file name scheme as first parameter to the FTP server. It will try to retrieve any of the files returned by the FTP server in response to this command.
Starting with SP14, the File Adapter will issue a LIST command with the configured source file name scheme as first parameter to the FTP server. If it is able to parse the returned result (which is the case for UNIX- and Windows-style directory listings), it will retrieve any of the returned files. If it cannot parse the result, it will fall back to the pre-SP14 implementation and use the NLST command as described above.

    Frank
We are on SP12 and have had problems with this and specifically, the FTP server on Solaris, not being fully RFC959 compliant.
We've had to get a different FTP Server as we were returned *.xml no file or folder found instead of 550 *.xml no file or folder found.
This increased the polling to the server, and filled up the ftp logging file, which intern filled up the partition and crasehd the server.
We got round this by installing http://www.proftpd.org/

  • How to get the sender filename in the mapping

    hi
I want to get the name of the target file placed by XI at the target into a mapping.I need this to correlate this file with the acknowledgement file to be received later by Xi from the target, which has the same name as the target file.
I have gone through the following link:[Sender Filename in BPM]
however i'm unable to understand the precise steps involved in it.
    am using a BPM.
as of now, my BPM has 3 step:receive , transform and send.
    please help

    In ID sender communication channel
    check the checkboxes for
    setadapter- specific message attributes
    filename
in message mapping---- create one target elemt for the filename
Write a UDF to pass the sender filename to the target element
    The UDF is as below
    DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");

    Hi
    Receiver is FTP only.....
    SAP side is RFC.........
RFC sender will be initiating the scenario, and there is receiver is File, PI should go to file directory and take the file then send it back to RFC as response.
    Sender: RFC
    Receiver: File
    1. is this scenario with condition based routing.. so that each time outof many receiver systems it will trigger any specific system.
if above is the case then you can achive this without BPM also..
    Yes...its condition based routing...
I Used async in this scenario.....sender side configurations also done....
But when when I am triggering BAPI from SE37 I am getting an error
    Exception SYSTEM_FAILURE
Message ID: 00 Message number: 341
    Message:
    Runtime error CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND has occurred
    How to Solve this????
I checked the RFC destination which i created in TCP/IP..a nd i mentioned the same in se37 RFC target system..
    Connection is Ok
Or we need to create proxy for MI and report for this?

I HAD two accounts because of this problem.  I completely removed the problem account from the Apple Mail client.  Guess what is happening??  That's right - Mail is still sending from the other account that no longer exists on my computer, and I have absolutely no idea how this is happening.  This is incredibly frustrating.  When a recipient chooses to reply to my message, quite often I won't get it now because it is going to the other account that has now been deleted from my system.  COME ON APPLE!!! • Sender party of reciever determination is getting used in IDOC receiver

    Hi All,
i am having a very strange problem in my XI scenarios.
i have 2 scenarios: S1 and S2.....S1 scenario is running on production.......S2 scenario is on development....both S1 and S2 are similar in the sense, they are sending IDOC to SAP R/3.......
s1 scenario is having in recever determination :
    sender party A
    sender service A1
receiver service R/3 by IDOC adapter - in this apply control rec values from payload is checked.......This S1 scenario is running fine on production.....
s2 scenario is having in recever determination :
    sender party B
    sender service B1
receiver R/3 bY IDOC adapter - in this when i check apply control rec values from payload, then in SXMB_MONI i get error :<b>Unable to convert sender XI party http://sap.com/xi/XI/XIParty/B to an IDoc partner</b>....<i>So you see the sender party B is getting used in the IDOC comm channel.</i>.....But when i uncheck control rec values from payload, then my msg is successfully processed in SXMB_MONI...
Now my question is : why S1 is runnig fine and S2 is not running fine on check apply control rec values from payload option......both are having party and service in sender.........So has it to do something with the definition of party......

    Hi Bhavesh,
my scenario is file - idoc........basically it is XI msg->IDOC scenario....the source xi msg i am getting from another XI system.....but on dev, i cannot connect to that external XI system, so on dev i am having file sender adapter to send the source file to be mapped to IDOC and then to be send to R/3 dev..........
i saw the control rec values of both S1 of prd and S2 of dev........
S1 scenario is similar to S2 in the sense it also has XI msg from that external system.....but since prd is connected to that external XI system, so we have created a party and a business service in it.......it has in IDOC adpatere the option of appy control rec checked........
i saw that the control rec of both S1 and S2 msgs were similar......moreover the control rec values of S2 msg with and without the option of appy control rec checked were similar.........the only issue is when the apply control rec option is checked, then it gives error that "Unable to convert sender XI party http://sap.com/xi/XI/XIParty/B to an IDoc partner"......
But in S1 prd scenario, it is not giving this error on checking the option of appy control rec.......
<b>Can you suggest why this is  happening - why party B of S2 is considered differently from party A of S1</b>......moreover these parties are simple parties created in ID.........

  • No Service for System SAPECC(Sender Port), Client800(R/3 system client 800)

    Hi friends,
I am new to XI/PI I am working with IDOC to Flat file scenario I am facing the folllowing error.
No Service for System SAPECC(Sender Port), Client800(R/3 system client 800) in integration Directory.
can any one tell what was the reason for this error.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ravi Yasoda.

    Hi Ravi,
Have you imported the Business System in Integration Directory?
Check whether  you see the logical system name in adapter specific identifiers or not...
Also check from integration directory that cache notification was done and also check SXI_CACHE in the abap stack.
    See this thread...
No service for system SAP***, client 001 in Integration Directory
Please go through below content from sap note  for your issue...
Error message: No service for system SAPABC client 123 in the integration directory
    Solution:
You send IDocs from system ABC to XI. In the control record of the IDoc,the SNDPOR field contains the value "SAPABC". The client of the sending system is determined by the MANDT field of the control record. The system ID and client are then used to determine a service without party of the
    type (business-system/business-service):
    Business system
-> Activities in the System Landscape Directory (SLD)(Create technical
    system):
Create a technical system for system ABC in the SLD, and create the client for this. Do not forget to assign an "ALE logical system" (for example, "ABCCLNT123") to this technical system.
    SLD (Business system):
You can now explicitly assign a business system to this client. For more details, refer to the SLD documentation.
Activities in system ABC (self-registration in the SLD):
Alternatively, you can register the system in the SLD in system ABC with Transaction RZ70. You will find detailed information about the SLD registration of systems on the SAP Service Marketplace for the
"Exchange Infrastructure" in the document "Exchange_Installation_Guide.pdf".
In system ABC, you can check your configuration with Transaction SLDCHECK.
Activities in Integration Directory (import business system from SLD):
You will find the business systems under Services Without Party in the Integration Services. In the Service menu, you will find the system identifiers, the client, and the corresponding ALE logical
system under "Objects"->"Adapter-specific identifiers". Use the Import/Update button to copy the data from the SLD, to create business systems, or to update their identifiers.
    Business service
-> Activities in the Integration Builder directory:
You want to create a service without party that is not part of your system infrastructure and is therefore not maintained in the SLD. In the Integration Builder directory, you will find the "Business-Services" under Services Without Party. In the Service menu, you will find the system identifiers, the client, and the corresponding ALE logical system under "Objects"->"Adapter-specific
    identifiers".
Activate the change list in Integration Directory.
In system ABC, you can restart the incorrect entry from Transaction SM58 .

  • Sender RFC from Third Party System

I have a vendor who is actually communicating through RFC from third party Application to SAP R/3. Now we are trying have XI in between. Where as with minimal impact on both sides.
    Solution.
    1. Have the RFC made as ZRFC in XI. Let the vendor call the RFC in XI ABAP and internally make an RFC call through XI Interface to R/3 as Sync Interface. Because we need to report the information back to the system where the request initiated.
    2. Have RFC INI file copied as SAP Suggests under one of the folders. Develop the regular RFC to RFC Interface via XI.
Is there any other alternatives other than the above mentioned solutions? Or out of those 2, which one will provide the best performance
    Appreciate any feedback. Please advice

That's exactly what we are trying to achieve here. By Eliminating direct connection R/3, we are placing XI in between. But with the budget/timeline constraints from the Partner side, we are trying to have minimal change on the partner side. They might not change something to web service etc...
Here is the text about INI file
You can configure the non-SAP RFC client to connect to the sender communication channel in the following ways:
    ■       By defining the parameters PROGID, gateway-host, and gateway-service within the saprfc.ini-file using RFC-SDK.
    ■       By using appropriate parameters in the function RfcOpenEx.
If you use the saprfc.ini-file, the respective RFC destination has to be of type R.
All the parameter values used within the saprfc.ini-file or with the function RfcOpenEx should match the entries maintained within the corresponding sender communication channel.
Example for the saprfc.ini-file is as follows:
    DEST=RFCCLIENTEXT
    TYPE=R
    PROGID=P106646.HKExternalClient
    GWHOST=pwdf2153
    GWSERV=sapgw40

Using the same Sender RFC for non-SAP System, please share any ideas

  • How to determine receivers in the send step in BPM?

    Hi Guys,
I have 3 send steps in BPM defined with send context and for each send step i have defined a receiver determination in ID. Each Receiver Determination has a condition based on which identifies multiple receivers.
The BPM is failing and unable to determine the conditional routing. Do i need to add the receiver determination step before each send step so that it identifies the receivers.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Raj

    Hi Guys,
Thanks for all of you for the quick replies and it is really a great help.
We have resolved the issue. The approach is as below.
we have a generic design used by multiple customers. For the interface where we have the BPM, we are doing conditional routing for each customer before they hit the BPM that is as soon as we receive the Asynchronus request based on the condition we direct the message to a particular BPM. Basically every customer will have different BPM process. ie we create the same BPM with different names specific to each customer and in this way we dont complicate the BPM process and we will know if any particular customer has problems with his process.
Please let me know comments or suggestions on the above approach
    Thanks,
    Raj

  • Send price conditions to external system

    Hello,
I would like to send the price conditions to a non SAP system. The IDOC COND_A02 seems to be the solution for sending the price conditions modifications to this system but is there a programm to send an initial set of idocs with all conditions (like RBDSEMAT for materials)? I cannot find any.
Thanks in advance for any help provided.
    Julien

    Julien,
You can send prices to external system from pricing reports, transaction V/LD.  For example, I used this to send sales prices to an external system using pricing report 15.  Here you can enter your material selection criteria including, condition type.  This will generate a report which you can then send to external systems.  I apologize, but I do not remember the menu path from the report result off hand.
    Ram,
Make sure you have activated change pointers for message type COND_A, create or change a price and excute RBDMIDOC for COND_A.

  • Send same data to two systems

I tried several ways but failed. And I'm very confused, Is somebody tell me the correct way?
send the same message to two receivers.
So there is one Receiver determination, what about interface determination?
Shoud I use different message interfaces and mapping for two receivers?
    Thanks very much.

if you want to send same data to two systems this is how it will be
    1 outbound interface
2 inbound interface (this is for more clarity. The interfaces will use the same message type)
    1 Message mapping
    2 interface mapping
    1 Receiver determination
    2 interface determination
    1 sender agreement
    2 receiver agreement
This is just 1 design out of the many But i guess the above sud be clear enough.

  • Clear explanation of Sender Agreement, Receiver Determination..etc

    Hi Experts,
In Configuration, I know the terms Sender Agreement, Receiver Determination, Interface Determination and Receiver Agreement.
But I would like to understand cleary what exactly each of above term and what it does.
No direct technical definitions please.. as i already read those in help.sap.com
Can someone please explain in usual simple terms, which even a layman can also understand what is SenderAgreement, Receiver determiniation etc..
    Thanks in advance.
    Sree

    Hi sree,
u need to give Receiver of ur message in <b>receiver determination</b>....if u hv more than one recivers of ur messages then u can also do this with condition
in receiver determination we give sender service, sender interface and receivers
now we must provide inbound interface( interface/structre of receiver)...so we provide it in <b>interface determination </b>
<b>Sender agreement </b>contains sender communication channel...that is one who can understand message from sender...eg if ur sender is file ur sender Comm channel will b file.
Similarly <b>Receiver agreement </b>contains receiver communication channel...that is one who can convert message understandable to receiver...eg if ur receiver is RFC ,ur receiver Comm channel will b RFC.
is it clear??? if not u can ask again....we r here to help u
    Thanks,
    Maheshwari.
