Service order from a repair order

Hi,
I want to create a service order from the repair order (sales order).
In the sales order, i select "repairs" for the prinicpal item. After that, in the screen "Change Repair request xx: item data". this message appear " The system generates an item porposal automaticaly. Copy proposal?"
But the system take a long time and at least do not create the service order.
Another message appear, when i select SM Order "A service order has not been found for action 'Repairs' "
What's the prerequisites to create a service order from the repair order.

Pre requsits for this are :
Maintain Strategy group 84 in MRP 3 screen in material master.
Go to t-code OISD, here you can maintain plant, material,work centre, task list.
Now go to order creation put your material & quantity is 1 & enter system will genarate service order,
Go to item data >>> schedule line , here u will find service order tab click on that tab service order is displaying
else use IW32 or IW33 to see service order.

    Hi,
    This is about a case of performing Repair services for customers. Customers send their defective product along with replaceable parts for performing the repair. After completing the repair, the repaired Product has to be sent back to the Customer. Then, we claim service charges from the customer for the labor involved.
    I created a Problem Notification and from there, a repair order (RAS). However, after taking the defective product into stock, system is not generating a Service Order. It is automatically picking up SM03 and displays "Order Type SM02 is not suitable for repair processing".
    Can anyone guide me through the steps required till Billing !!

    It is not picking up SM03. It is picking up SM02. And SM02 is not a refurbishment type maintenance order. That is why it is giving this message. Trace back to the requirements class/ requirements type to see which service order type is being determined for the item category.

  • Service Order Creation from a Repair Order - Reg

    Hi,
    I have a situation where a batch of 100 Pieces of a serialized Serviceable Material has been delivered by a Customer. I have to carry out repair and treat each piece as unique. i.e., a Job Order for each Piece of the Material.
    I created a Repair Order, Delivery and perform PGR to inward the incoming Serviceable Material. Now each Serial Number is in stock.
    Now, is it possible to automatically create 100 different Service Orders (based on Repair procedure) for each Piece and assign Serial Number to each of these Service Orders ? Or should I have to enter 100 line items one after another manually ?

    Raj,
    No, if you want to stay within standard, then you need to create 100 items on the repair order each for one unit, then do 100 seperate goods recipts which will then create 100 seperate orders..

    If u want to create service order from sales order,then some prerquisits for this are as.
    MRP strategy group is - 84 in material master,
    Fill all the data in t-code OISD
    Now create sales order >> put material & enter >>>system automatically create's service order, you can latter view it by in shedule line tab at item level or By t-code IW32.

  • Problem Creating Service Order SM03 from Repair order RAS type

    Hi All,
    While performing "Repair" action in repair order, we are triggering service order type-SM03
    If the return material (serviceable material) is having Individual requirement settings in MRP4 screen, system proposing POP up screen for PO creation-
    This POP up we need to restrict (even though as per present setting it is not effecting our business process)
    This is because the serviceable material is copying as item "0000" in component tab.
    Any inputs?

  • Automatic Service Order creation and OBD line item creation - Repair Order

    I tried to run the Repair process based on the help document of SAP:
    Configs Followed:
    1) In Material master MRP3 view, strategy group is assigned as 84 (service orders). By default this str.grp is linked with Requirement type SERA and Requirement class 203.
    2 ) Requirement class is assigned with appropriate Service order type.
    SPRO>Sales and Distribution>Basic Functions>Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements>Transfer of Requirements-->Define Requirements Classes (OVZG)
    Actual Assignment:

    Sorry, here it is...
    Let me explain the process that has been followed:
    1) Initially to start with Service Notification was created with IW51 T-code.
        In that, Sold to party and material # were entered. Then from there directly i go for Create Repair Order from the Action Box.
        Order type for repair order - RAS, and when i save both Service Notification and the Repair gets saved.
        Now, in the repair order, two line items were getting created automatically and the requirement Types for those line items are:
        Line Item I : SE
        Line Item II: SERP
    2) After that i take the material in with the help of t-code VRRE.
    3) Then, i do the acceptance of the stock ( Technical Check) with t-code QA11.
        Once i do that, i get the Third line item in the Repair Order and the requirement Type for that line item is:
        Line Item III: SERP
    Now my query is, Once i do the QA11 transaction i need to get a Service Order automatically but thats not happening.
    Also if i create a Service Order manually, and do the repair and do the technically completion of the service order, then i need to get a third line item (IRAL) in the repair order automatically and thats also not happening.

  • Costing indicator in Repair Service Order

    Hi Gurus,
    I am facing pblm in Repair Service order for component cost.
    Actually the flow is creation of a Service Order automatically using Requirement type from a Return Sales Order.
    Items returned in Return Sales Order are Non - valuated & hence appearing as non-valuated in my Service Order Component tab as well (Defaulted Parent Item -->" Not relavant to costing")
    This is creating pblm to me. Whatever parts, materials I am issuing to Service order are not getting costed. Also the Costing indicator for all the components lines appearing as Not relavent to Costing.
    How I can set it Relavent to Costing for the Child items. Is this control lies in Task List/BOM setting?

    Spare components are not influenced in anyway by the actual repairable equipment. Pls check other settings.

  • REQUIREMENT TO POPULATE PLANNER GROUP in REPAIR SERVICE ORDER

         Hi Gurus, 
       We are using Standard repair process,
    These are the Following Steps
    1.Service Notification Creation.
    2.Sale order Creation (RAS order type)
    3.Returns Delivary
    4.Posts Goods Receipt
    5.Repair Service Order created in the Backend.
          Requirement is , to auto-populate the PlannerGroup field in order Header data tab of Repair service Order.
    I am tried with maintaining Planner group in Organisation Tab ,Responsibilites Screen ,in the Equipment Master.Planner group is not populated in the Repair Service Order header .

             But i all ready tried with updating the planner group in the task list,the Repair Service order is not carrying   planner group from the Service product task list.As per the above discussions, even i tried with updating in equipment Master, still not Populating in Repair Service order.

  • Need to create service order in one system with SO from other sys

    Hi,
    i need to create a DTO program to copy service order from one system to other system. Both systems are SAP systems.
    My requirement is to create service order with same number as it was in the existing system.
    Service order type : SM03
    Now standard SAP automatically create a service order of type SM03 when i add repair qty within the repair tab of IRPA line within a RAS order.
    Can you please let me know if there is a way by which i can change the service order number while creating it from a RAS order??

    Hi!
    In the customizing, you have to set its numbering to
    external in the receiver system for the SM03 order type. And of course you have to set its range the same, as in the sender system. 
    It's working fine here.

    Dear all,
    We r doing Modification/Rectification& Replacements....for our Customer Products...
    Our All Products are Make to Order(So there is No Stock Maintenance).Once complaints comes to us...our Service Engg will check, if it works will add labor hours and spare parts..
    If it not works...We need to Raise the Production order w.r.to Service order /Repair Order.and Run the MRP and As usual Process.
    up to Service order iam creating .in Service order user will tell ..whether it is working or not....then i need to take decision to release Production order...(Re-work order)

    You are raising a service/ repair order to the customer... you are processing the work etc..
    but u dont have the materials needs to be send to the customer... at that time.. u need to produce the material... is this ur scenario.... 
    Check with the PP guy...
    As far as... you can create a sales order from repair / service order.. if u do service and u need to send some materials.. u can add those materials in service order...if u want to maintain in ur system..
    I am not sure abt this...
    then u need to create production order separately... and enter the order some where in the production order to get reports etc etc...
    I dont think its possible to create a production order w.r.t. repair/ service order..

  • To get service order from sales order number and item number

    The select on AUFK takes much longer time than the transaction which is used to get the sevice order number starting from VA03. ( select one line item. goto repairs, then select the repairs column and goto SM Order). Is there any other table than AUFK from which i can get service order number.

    Check, if you have an entry in table VBFA for your sales order (sales order in VBELV, POSNV, AUFK in VBELN and POSNN, VBTYP_N might be 'C').
    If so, your select will be much faster by using VBFA.

    Provides support for the complete Service processing lifecycle from Service Quotation creation to Billing. A service order is created if the customer has to be billed for services like utility usage, no. of pages printed (using counters etc). Service Order processing includes integrated validation of service contract price agreements and warranty entitlements.
    The cycle is :
    Business Scenario – Service quotation and service order management
    A.     Make inquiry – Customer contacts and requests for quotation
    B.     Create and communicate quotation – service rep. creates a quotation and sends it to the customer
    C.     Accept the quotation
    D.     Convert quotation into service order – and release the order
    E.     Create and optimize assignments - The Resource Planner assigns any field service tasks to one or more of his Field Service Representatives
    F.     Execute assignment, perform confirmation - The Field Service Representative performs the service assignment at the customer site and performs confirmation for the work done, materials used and so on
    G.     Approve confirmation, assign costs - The Service Manager checks and approves the confirmation data and decides which costs should be billed to the customer
    H.     Bill customer, perform analyses - The Service Manager triggers billing of the customer and performs analyses of the complete service order processing cycle
    Where as a repair order would be created when a customer finds a defect in say a product and the requests for a repair of replacement.
    The cycle is:
    The business scenario
    1.     Enter repair request
    The customer calls the service organization to request a repair. The agent enters the repair request. The system checks whether a warranty exists.
    2.     Send in defective product
    The customer sends in the product using the given return material authorization number.
    3.     Plan repair steps
    A service representative performs the technical analysis and enters the inspection result (causes, tasks, etc.). He decides what action should be taken based on the inspection result.
    4.     Create service quotation
    The system calculates the price for the planned repair and required spare parts, according to the price agreements in the service contract, and the warranty costs. The agent generates a service quotation.
    5.     Perform confirmation
    The customer accepts the quotation. The service representative repairs the product and confirms his working times and materials used. He also documents the inspection results.
    6.     Return repaired product
    The service representative returns the repaired product to the customer.
    7.     Create invoice
    The service representative triggers customer billing, based on the confirmed time and spare parts used, and in accordance with existing warranties and specific price agreements.
    8.     Analyze defect reasons
    Using predefined queries and reports, the service manager analyzes the most important defect reasons.

  • Creation of Sales Order and Service Contract from Inbound IDOC

    Hi Experts,
    My requirement is to create a Sales Order as well as a Service Contract from one Inbound IDOC. I am getting the Inbound IDOC from a third Party. The message type is ORDERS and Basic Type is ORDERS02. How ever i am using an extension type IDOC which carries all the required data for Sales Order and Service Contract. My requirement is like, to create a Sales Order first.
    I have created a Z FM which is attached to the Process Code and subsequently to the message type. Inside the FM i an calling FM 'IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS' for creation of Sales Order. After that i am changing the IDOC data for the Document Type. I am changing the document type which is responsible for Contract Creation.
    Then I am again calling the FM 'IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS' for creation of Contract with the help of IDOC data. But here the Contract is not getting created. It's getting failed during the Batch input session.
    I need to solve this problem as soon as possible. Please help me. If there are any other options also please share.

    Actually there is problem with BDCDATA. Inside the FM it's calling transaction with help of BDCDATA. If i am creating a Sales order or contract alone its creating successfully. But when i am trying to create both, it's retuning sy-subrc '1001' after calling the transaction on the second attempt. Is there any problem with BDCDATA like we can't handle with less time gap? Please help and give your inputs.

  • Creation of service order from campaign element

    Hi,
    We have a requirement where service orders are to be created for all those business partners who responded to the campaign. We are using standard service order type SVRO. We have set up campaign automation by creating campaign and element, assigned target group, set decision point (rule & condition) to split target group in two; one for those who have replied to campaign and others who have not replied. These target groups are also linked to other campaign elements within the campaign.
    The question is, how to create a follow-on transactions such as service orders through campaign, so that one service order gets created for each successful BP from campaign result?

    My further requirenment is to re-trigger pricing to upade latest price information on these service orders and then to create and send letter to all those customer with price informations. Can I use the same workflow with different steps to complete all these task?
    Also, how will these service orders (created through workflow) be linked with the campaign? Is their a way to link one campaign with many orders?

    The plant should be 0260 with storage location wh01 and item category ZRRE
    Creation of a service order with repair order type SM03 is not allowed in iw31.

    Thank u for the BAPI
    But an error is being displayed saying that the REFURBISHMENT ORDERS CANNOT BE PROCESSED USING BAPI.
    ERROR DURING PROCESSING OF BAPI METHODS.
    This is while u pass the order type as either ZM03 or SM01or SM02 or SM03.
    pls help me on that.
