  • Java user-defined transaction management not working correctly???

    Hi everyone,
    I have encountered a problem when using Java user-defined transaction management in my session bean. It threw an exception but I could not work out what that means. Could anyone comment on this? Thanks.
    This BrokerBean is a stateless session calling other entities bean to perform some simple operations. There are 2 Cloudscape databases in use. Invoices (EB) use InvoiceDB and all the other EBs use StockDB.
    If I comment out the user-defined transaction management code, then everything works fine. Or if I comment out the Invoices EB code, it is fine as well. It seemed to me that there is something wrong in transaction management when dealing with distributed databases.

    Three things:
    first, maybe you should think of putting ut.begin() just before the invoicesHome.create() method and ut.commit() just after the stockTrans.remove() method.It wont solve the current problem but will help in performance once the problem is solved.
    second, your utx.commit() is outside the try block. how come the code is compiling then??
    third, try doing a SOP call before and after invoicesHome.create() method and see where the problem actually lies.
    let us know...
    Hi SteveW2,
    Thanks for being so helpful. Here are my replies:
    Can I just ask why you're not using containermanaged
    transactions?The reason why I didn't use container managed
    transactions is because I don't really know how to do
    that. I am more familiar with this user-defined
    transaction handling.
    I have attempted to implement the same method in an
    entity bean and just let the container manage the
    rollback itself. The same exception was thrown when
    running the client.
    Also, the transaction behaviour is likely to relateto
    the app server youre using - which is it?What do you mean by the app server? I am using J2EE
    1.3.1 if that is what you meant.
    Finally, if your code has a problem rolling back,and
    throws an exception, you discard your exception
    thereby losing useful information.I have tried to print the exception stack as well, but
    it is the same as just printing the general
    exception.
    This problem is very strange cause if I comment out
    the transaction management thing, then everything
    works fine. Or if I am only working with 1 single
    database, with this user-defined transaction handling,
    everything works fine as well.
    Here is the error log from J2EE server if you are
    interested.

  • Color Management Not Working Correctly with 2 Displays

    At work I am using two calibrated monitors connected to a Mac Pro. One of the monitors is a hardware calibrated wide-gamut NEC Spectraview, the other one is a software calibrated Apple Cinema Display.
    It seems like Adobe products only ever display correct colors for the one monitor that happens to be the main monitor. When “Displays have separate Spaces” is off in the system preferences, it is the monitor that has the menu bar. When that setting is on, it is the monitor that was active while the application launched.
    The main monitor always seems to display proper colors, while the secondary monitor shows exaggerated colors. It seems to me, like the applications only ever read the profile for the main monitor.
    I have noticed this behavior with Bridge and After Effects. I am not entirely sure about Photoshop, since I only ever use it on the wide gamut monitor, but it seems like it does NOT have the issue. I do not use any other Adobe applications.
    I had noticed this behavior back in Snow Leopard while using CS5 and CS6, but I never said anything, because I was using an outdated system. I was now moved to a new Mac with the most current version of Mavericks and the most current Creative Cloud versions of these apps and it seems like the issue remains.

  • Recovery Manager not working correctly

    I am checking my dad's laptop, a Compaq Presario F700 (F761US) and I cannot get the HP recovery working. I don't have the discs, so I select "System recovery" to its original factory condition, but it just restarts as if nothing.

    Is the recovery drive visible in My Computer? Try creating a disc from the HP Recovery Manager and use that.

  • Remote Invocable object is not constructed/initialized correctly

    Hi, I got a strange problem.
    Basically, a node assignes a range of ids (for example 1-1000) to all nodes including itself via the InvocationService. Upon the receipt of Invocable, all the remote nodes do not have the Invocable information initialized correctly, ONLY the original node starts the InvocationService call get the Invocable initialized correctly. In my program, any node can start the InvocationService, and I tried all the different nodes and they all have the same problem.
    I fake the code a little bit and when calling the InvocationService (query()) it always sends to itself. And all Invocable objects (when run() starts) are initialized correctly.
    Can someone help provide some insight?
    The following is some of code related to the problem.
    The node call the InovactionService:query()
    SearchInvocable oneRange = new SearchInvocable(CacheHelper.getLocalMember());
    for (int j = 0; j < members.length; j++) {
    oneRange.setMin(nextMinKey);
    nextMaxKey = ((nextMinKey + rangeSize) < maxKey) ? (nextMinKey + rangeSize) : maxKey;
    oneRange.setMax(nextMaxKey);
    // Inform the member for the assigned key range via
    // invocation service
    // CHANGING TO targets.add(memebers[0]);
    // WORKS FINE! SO STRANGE
    targets.add(members[j]);
    System.out.println("Range[" + j + "]: " + oneRange);
    invokeService.query(oneRange, targets);
    targets.clear();
    nextMinKey = ((nextMaxKey + 1) < maxKey) ? (nextMaxKey + 1) : maxKey;
    The Invocable object
    public class SearchInvocable extends KeyRange implements Invocable {
    SearchInvocable(Member sourceMember) {
    super();
    this.sourceMember = sourceMember;
    public void run() {
    System.out.println("SearchInvocable::run(): " + this);
    Here is the output for remote nodes print out the Invocable (the Invocable is not initialized correctly).
    SearchInvocable::run(): type:null min:0 max:0
    Here is the output for local node print out the Invocable
    SearchInvocable::run(): type:Accountl min:10001 max:99996
    Thanks,
    Jasper

    Hi Robert,
    That's it. It is the KeyRange not implements the Serializable. I missed it. I thought for the local node it goes through the same serialization as the remote nodes do so I overlook the problem. This shows Coherence does the optimization for local node without going through the serialization. Excellent!
    Regards,
    Jasper

  • Management studio dialogs not displayed correct in high resolution

    I am using a Lenovo Yoga2 with 3200x1800 screen resolution, and some dialog boxes are not displayed correct, like the Select backup file dialog that doesn't display directory and the file list. Is there any fix for this?

    I'm having the same issue. Let me try to elaborate a little, providing you with more details.
    Laptop, Dell Precision M3800
    Resolution, 3200x1800 (getting more common on new high-end laptops with 15+ inches)
    OS, Windows 8.1
    Application, SSMS aka SQL Server Management Studio - version 2014 (earlier version has same issue)
    SQL Server Engine irrelevant (tested with 2014 and below - all the same)
    I understand you want to see a screenshot, but really, it doesn't make sense as you won't be able to reproduce the error if you are watching on e.g. a FullHD screen. therefore, I've taken a screenshot and resized it to a FullHD size so you get a better feel
    of the issue - however, I have to mention text will look a lot more crisp on a 3200x1800 screen (that's kind of why you want a screen with high PPI). That said, it's still way too small to look at.
    If you view below image on a 15.4 inch screen with FullHD, you get a feel of how I work with SSMS today.

    I have a 27" iMac with 16GB of factory installed SDRAM and 1T harddrive.  It is telling me the harddrive is full and is not functioning correctly.  How can I adjust so that all files are managed on the harddrive rather than the SDRAM.  (BTW - design flaw here.)
    Older Macs with a single Harddrive would simply expand OS management on the drive, and I think I understand the new Fusion Drive to do just that, but how do I get this product that I spent a great deal of money on to be more than a pretty screen?

    I was confused by this statement
    It is telling me the harddrive is full and is not functioning correctly.
    OS X manages ram and when you run out, it create swapfiles to extend your ram on the HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The OS itself, takes about 16 gig of space and that too resides on the HDD.  Your 16 gig of RAM is really a temporary space that holds things from the HDD so the processor can work on them.  There is no design flaw between your ram and HDD.  Something else is going on and there are a lot of smart people here to help you figure out what that "something else" is.
    I would do three things.  First I would create a backup, backups are important.  Second, I would reboot into recovery and repair my HDD.  Lastly while still booted in recovery I would repair permissions.
    Can you capture a screen shot of the exact error you are getting?

  • Process Manager is not initialized

    Dear MDM/DRM experts,
    New to DRM, I seek your help in configuring DRM on my local machine. I have installed server and its is running well. I can connect to database as well. The problem is, when I try to login with mdm_system user, I get this message "Process Manager is not initialized". In DRM console, I see a "No" against MDM Process Manager and MDM event manager. There is no service created with the name MDM Process Manager in Windows services panel.
    I have created two users with admin access on my machine: mdm_system and mdm_db. There is a point I need to mention here, I got an error while installing com+ applications. Rest goes fine after that. I don't know if the error has anything to do with COM+ installation.
    Any ideas on above problem are appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ashish K

    As far as the "Process Manager is not initialized" error is concerned, we got the same error recently.
    What we did was restart the DRM services on the server - The N-Tier Client and the Web-Publisher.
    However, after doing it - we still got the error or DRM would not respond. On looking through it again, we saw that the Task Manager on the Server did not kill the DRM processes and so we did it manually. Then we restarted the services and it worked fine this time. See if this works for you - first kill all the services on the client sides and then on the server side, check for the client and server side process task manager and then restart the service. This worked for us, hopefully it works for you too.

  • Disk 1 of Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control not downloading correctly

    Hello, I'm downloading Enterprise Manager 11g Grid Control.
    The first disk, of three, does not download correctly:
    GridControl_11.1.0.1.0_Linux_1of3.zip
    On the web page, its size is listed to be around 1.3 GB.
    However, when downloading, it thinks its actual file size is only around 643 MB.
    So only that much gets downloaded.
    But after downloading, this .zip file cannot be opened, it does not appear to a valid .zip file.
    Please investigate and fix this.
    Thanks
    Eugene

    Please check from edelivery.oracle.com . You need to unzip all the zips under one dir.

  • Bluez not working correctly? Configuration error?

    I seem to be having a difficult problem in relation to either the bluetooth stack (bluez) or maybe even dbus.
    I am using the bluetooth on my Lenovo Thinkpad T500 to connect to my Windows 7 PC (which has a bluetooth dongle) so I can transfer files between each other.  I have a KDE desktop, and I am using Bluedevil as my frontend.  I can pair with my desktop just fine.  Also, at the same time, I am using a bluetooth mouse for my laptop.
    First thing I noticed was that I can't initiate a transfer on the Windows 7 side.  The only services that are said to he handled are 'Headset Audio Gateway', 'Remote Control', and 'Remotely Controllable Device'.  I know for a fact you need something called OBEX in that service list to transfer files.
    On the Arch Linux side of things, I can initiate a transfer normally, but it never completes.  Right after clicking the send button, it immediately says that the file has transferred successfully, even before Windows 7 prompts me to accept the transfer.  No file is actually transferred.  Also, I noticed that after this 'successful' transfer, my mouse stops working.  I am not able to pair up anything until I reset the laptop.
    For testing purposes, I booted up a Kubuntu 12.04 livecd.  When pairing using Kubuntu, Windows detects all the services correctly, including OBEX and a few other ones.  Windows 7 is able to send a file to Kubuntu, and vice versa.  So this leads me to believe this has something to do with Arch Linux......I just need some help with pinpointing what it might be, so I can create a bug report of it.

    'spdtool browse local' confirms that the SDP service record for Obex isn't being registered correctly.  Coincidentally, these are the services that Windows 7 only detects working on my laptop bluetooth, also.  This is right after a reboot:
