Setting Datagrid height

Hi
I have a datagrid on my page, which has the MaximumHeight set
to 400px. So
when the number of rows exceeds this height, then the
vertical scroll
appears.
My problem is that when there is only a couple of rows and
the height is far
less than 400px, there is a large space to the next item on
the page. Does
anyone know how I can reduce this gap until the datagrid
height of 400px is
reached?

The datagrid does not work that way. It renders as a html tag
and as such
the height attribute doesn't work properly. If you google
"scrolling
datagrid" you should find some articles on it but most
involve placing the
datagrid inside of a DIV layer.

how can i calculate accurate datagrid height with variableRowHeight="true" and without getting any empty row.
Currently i am calculating datagrid height on updateComplete event of datagrid as follows:

With this approach the issue is, i am getting scrollbar on datagrid's container. I want scrollbar for datagrid instead of its container so that i can have only rows to be scrollable and not the header. Also, if i set verticalScrollPolicy of datagrid as "auto", i get empty rows.
So,is there any way to have datagrid with following properties:
variable row height
no empty rows
word wrap for headers as well as for rows
Scrollbar for grid i.e. header should remain fix ,only rows should be scrollable
no horizontal scrollbar

I have been trying to set the ui.textarea's height dynamically and I am not able to do it. This is what I am doing.

The height is being ignored and it is set to the default size. How can I set the height of this component to fit to the size of its cell, which is dynamic?

Thank you for your help! It worked for something like this:
getTextArea2().setStyle("color : red");
but this does not work still.
getTextArea2().setStyle("height: 90%");
I think it still does not know the size of the cell at this point yet. But this is a good tip, thanks anyway!

Note that I used a Footer Row in my Table. Headers and Footers have special properties. (A poster in the last couple of weeks asked for a summary of Header and Footer properties - somewhat frustrated that he couldn't find a succinct description in the User Guide. Well, there isn't one and the answer is so complicated that nobody has taken on the project. Now we have a new version of Numbers and the answer would need to change.)
The way to avoid the error is to use a Footer Row and to use the shortcut cell reference notation: =SUMIF(C,TRUE,B). The columns are specified, but the row range is not. Footers are exempt in this notation, so no error is generated regarding a circular reference.
Hope this clears it up.

I have tried setting the height property of the page separator, but still the height in the IDE & in the browser is more then 7px. Is there a solution?

Setting fixed height in Crystal Reports sections

I want to set the height of detail section in crystal report. I want to set the details section such that it must at the most accommodate 10 records in the section.
If I have only 2 records in the section, it should show 8 empty lines.
If I have more than 25 records in the section, the remaining 15 records will be placed on the next page.
After that, the footer will be printed at the end of it.

1. You can also create a SQL expression field or use a subreport to read how many records that it returns.
2. Have 10 detail section; and
3. In each section, put in all fields; and
4. Have a running total in each section; and
5. For each field in the section, you suppress based on the running total; and
6. Do not suppress blank section; and
7. Set new page if the running total is more than > 10

may be this works for you ---
since u want to adjust the width with the text size.. means that you will be taking an input from the user and then set it on the label.. so before setting the text on the label & width of label .. get the length of the text and set this length as the width parameter to method setPrefferedSize()..
ex:

lbl.setPreferredSize(userinp.length,30);

How to set Panel height to browser height?

I have a panel in a module in an application (App > Module > Panel). I would like the panel to take up the full height of the browser window. How can I achieve this? Trying to set height="100%" doesn't work, and makes the panel disappear. Setting the layout to absolute also doesn't work when setting top and bottom margins to 20.
Any ideas welcome.

There is something odd going on. I did what you suggested, but then the module doesn't display. However, when I remove the percentage-based height tags everything shows up.
It seems that the Panel object is sensitive to height being percentage-based. As soon as I set its height to "500" instead of "100%" it displays.

Setting AFrame height to the height of a graphic inside aframe plus padding

I am trying to set a permanent bottom padding between an anchored frame and a graphic object (embedded Visio) that is inside the anchored frame.
However, instead of getting that padding below the graphic, the aframe becomes really small, and only 20% of the graphic is exposed.
The code goes like this:

Set isolatedHtmlContainer height when displaying portal page

I have a portal application which displays portal pages from the pcd in isolatedHtmlContainer.
The page's content is dynamic so the height is not fixed and therefore in the page's properties the height's value set to 'Automatic'
However, when working with isolatedHtmlContainer the height could be set in pixels or percentage only (I cannot set it to 'Automatic').
p.s
If the height was fixed I could get it by the profile of IPortalComponentContext, but if I will do that I'll get a string like 'Automatic' which doesn't help me...)

I read the blog but the javascript doesn't affect my IsolatedHtmlContainer.
Let me rephrase my question:
In the portal innerpage I display X IsolatedHtmlContainers (my application decides how many pages to display). Each container has dynamic content (a portal page from the pcd), therefore, I have a problem setting the height of the IsolatedHtmlContainers (too low - scrolling bar, too high - blank space).
The properties of the portal pages from the pcd are set as follows:
isolation method - URL
height method: Automatic
If I display the pages without the IsolatedHtmlContainers, the 'Automatic' feature works and the page's size is OK.
So my question is:
Is there a way for the IsolatedHtmlContainer adjust its size according to its content?

I recently created a page with some fields as choice lists and some as list of values. Somehow the choice list when opened it is not displaying data properly (I have 3 rows, it is showing only 2 rows and have to scroll to see third row) . I would like to see if there is any way to set this so that I can see all three rows or set the height of choice list as a fixed height?
