Setting server up to point to Domain

I feel I am going in circles reading everything...
I have our server up and running. Inside the house when I type the IP address 192.168.123.7 I am taking to the MAC OS X server page.
I bought the domain www.coheu.com and would like this to be the server domain so I can access the server from outside the office.
Our internet has the static ip of 81.82.193.252.
Am I supposed to edit the DNS zone for the domain coheu.com to point to this static ip?
I created a DNS zone on the server with the following:
coheu.com. --- static ip
ns1.eleven2.com --- static ip
ns2.eleven2.com --- static ip
ns3.eleven2.com --- static ip
www.coheu.com. - alias coheu.com.
Does something seem messed up to anyone?
Currently I can't even type in the static IP to get to the default website landing page...

We have a public IP that is on the WAN side of our router. The ISP handles public DNS so that folks outside our LAN can find the public facing side of the router. The router is configured to forward certain services / ports to the internal IP of the server. Web, mail, and a couple of others.
Internally, we run our own DNS that is configured very similar to what you have. But you must replace the "static ip" with the internal ip of "192.168.123.7". This permits any machine on the internal LAN to hit the local server.
You will need to check with your ISP to make sure that they setup DNS records that point to your public IP. Then you will need to forward ports 80, 110, 25, etc (depending on what your requirements are) on your router to the internal IP of 192.168.123.7. Then you need to change the zone file you created on the server to use the internal IP of 192.168.123.7 instead of your public IP.

How to send email to a SMTP server over a secure channel using STARTTLS setting of a send connector (Exchange and SMTP server are in the same domain)

I’m trying to send email using exchange send connector STARTTLS setting to the SMTP server. I have read multiple documents on configuring TLS for send connector, but they talks about outbound connections to internet facing servers. My Exchange 2013 and SMTP
server is in the same domain (let’s say A.com) and I’m creating dummy domains on my SMTP server (e.g.
[email protected],
[email protected] ) and their respective send connectors on the exchange server end. In the smart host section added the IP address of the SMTP server and in the scoping section added the SMTP domain address (e.g. dummy1.local ). In the FQDN field, added
the FQDN of the exchange server 2013 which certificate is enabled with SMTP service.
Could you tell me a step by step procedure, where I’m going wrong or any extra settings needs to added?
Presently, it is giving me an error that 530 5.5.1 TLS encrypted connection is required.
Note: I’ve created the Microsoft CA certificates for the SMTP and exchange servers and imported them in the personal certificate container. In which, the exchange certificate is created with FQDN name of the server and enabled for the SMTP service.
I’m using OPENSSL certificate for making the SMTP server TLS enabled. (let me know, if I need to import the OPENSSL certificate anywhere on the exchange end)?

Server failed to start: The domain path does not match the running server

I've configured Eclipse to run my local weblogic - which actually is working fine.
The server starts as intended and reaches state RUNNING.
As soon as this happens, OEPE tries to validate the server and compares the identified server's configuration to the expected configuration.
This finally results into the error message shown in the subject -- though server is still running.
!MESSAGE Server watcher[Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 1 at localhost]:The domain path does not match the running server.
Domain RootDirectory retrieved from the MBean of running server is: N:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\USER_P~1\domains\MYWEBL~1\
Domain RootDirectory of this server: N:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\myWeblogicServer
Obviously this seems to be an issue with the length of the directory and file names. The domain's configuration and all its start scripts do not have any 8+3 pathes, like USER_P~1 for user_projects. Nevertheless the MBean of the server returns such a "truncated" path which in turn is invalid for OEPE.
Fix: When setting up the domain in Eclipse, try using that 8+3 representation of the domain's location. Then the comparison will succeed...
My Question: Where do we need to ask for a fix in OEPE? The 8+3 path is still a valid one ...

I haven't been able to reproduce this and 8+3 representation of the domain's location shouldn't be required.
Can you provide more information:
- is this a network drive?
- what is your OS: XP, Vista, Win7?
- what is the Windows file system type, is it FAT or NTFS
- Can you try install WLS on C:, e.g. C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects and see if it still happens?

How can two independent DirectAccess servers be set up safely in the same domain?

I've got a single-tier certificate authority running on a 2008 r2 domain controller with an expiring root certificate. I have a new 2012 r2 domain controller with a new single-tier certificate authority. I also have a DirectAccess server running on 2012
server (two NICs, NAT, IP-HTTPS only). I'd like to get a new DirectAccess server set up running server 2012 r2 using the new CA for the various DirectAccess server and client computer certs. I can get the new environment working and flip machines from
the existing implementation to the new implementation.
I was previously told by a tech working one of my Microsoft support tickets that two independent DirectAccess servers can't run in the same domain. However, I posted a related question

Yes you can have 2 Da deployments in one domain.
I have done this a number of times for customer when upgrading from UAG DA to 2012.
Make sure you use different Group policies for the DA servers and Clients. make sure you target the client with only one GPO at a time. Also use different AD groups.
You then change the GPO assignment to the clients and they will flip when the client does a gp update. I have done this for a site that had over 5000 clients and we didn't have one call about it.
You can use DirectAccess Offline Domain Join for any broken machines.

Server 2012 Distribution Point - Is BITS Required ?

I have deployed a Distribution Point on Server 2012, i went through the documentation and there was no mention of BITS being a prerequsite...
So my Question is - Do we still need to install BITS as a prereq for the Distribution Point Role on a Server 2012 box.

There still seems to be some contradictions on whether you are supposed to install BITS or not when setting up a Distribution Point.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712264.aspx under the section
"To install Internet Information Services (IIS) on Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 computers"
clearly shows for Windows Server 2008 R2, select the
Background Intelligent Transfer Services (BITS) check box.
If you look at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_SiteSystemRolePrereqs under the Distribution Point prerequisites, there
is no mention of installing BITS unless we are to assume the statement "You can use the default IIS configuration" means to select BITS as described above?
Plus the following note under Additional prerequisites is as clear as mud.

With System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, the distribution point site system role does not require Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS). When BITS is configured on the distribution point computer, BITS on the distribution point

A problem with Win 7 Pro, Outlook Web Access based on Exchange Server 2003, and two different domains

As mentioned in the title,
I have two domains. One is Domain A at HQ. The other one is Domain A at branch office. A laptop having Win 7 Pro OS is a client of Domain A. The Domain A has Exchange Server 2003. Users of Domain B get connected to Exchange Server for email services. In
all clients of the Domain B, IP address of the email server added in C:\Windows\System 32\drivers\etc\host file.
Whereas in the clients of Domain A it was not done, because all the servers including the email server belong to the Domain A.
Now, a user with Domain A's client (it is a laptop) came to Branch office and wanted to access the Outlook (using Outlook Web Access). since there is no IP address added in the Host file of the laptop, connectivity to email is not possible. When I try to
add the IP address, I was not able to do so due to Domain A's security reasons.
So, let me know, is there a way out to add the IP address in the host file of the Domain A's client.

I would suggest adding the mailserver address in Domain B's DNS. Would that be possible?
I agree. The correct solution in this case (since it appears you already have a two-way Domain Trust in place) is to properly configure DNS in Domain 'B' to be a secondary of Domain 'A' and completely eliminate the need to maintain the HOSTS file.

Windows Server 2012 Foundation, in a Workgroup - "The server did not finish checking the license compliance. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller"...

Every few days we see two dialogs with the following messages:

The server is not (and never has been) joined to a domain or had any DC roles installed. In fact its still connected to the default Workgroup.
The server was configured in our office and never showed this message until it was installed on site. The main difference from what I can see is that when installed on site it was given a static IP address and does not have any DNS settings in the network
adapter properties.
I have scoured a number of forums on this error but in almost every other instance of this error message the servers are connected to a Domain Controller and the solutions generally are linked to dis-joining and rejoining the domain. Unfortunately this is
not an option for this scenario.
I initially thought that adding some relevant DNS server IP address may resolve the issue, however, we have the exact same model server configured exactly the same running at a different site that does not experience this problem. This server also has no
DNS server configured.
I have seen a post that suggests turning off the servers "Foundation Checking", but I'm unsure how to do this.

I can confirm that this server is not (and never has been) a member of any active directory, it is configured as a Workgroup server. It was initially configured on a network that does have an active directory, but was never joined to it. During that time it
never displayed these messages.
The server was moved into production on a different site and network and setup with a static IP address.The site network does have its own active directory but the server was not joined to it. It is whilst on this new network that these messages began.
Since my original post DNS servers have been added and the Microsoft activation has been verified, however, the messages are still appearing.
There are only 2 user accounts configured on this server. The local admin account and another local admin user.
The remote desktop services roles have been installed but not yet configured. I don't think that has any bearing on this scenario though.
The description of this error in the above "Introduction to Windows Server 2012 Foundation" link states:
This error occurs when the server cannot finish checking the requirements for the root domain, forest trust configuration, or both. It usually happens when the server cannot connect to a domain controller. If the situation persists, the server will
shut down 10 days after the first time the compliance check failed. Each time this error message occurs, it will state the actual time remaining before the server will shut down. If you restart the server after it has shut down because of non-compliance, the
server will shut itself down again in 3 days.
The above description leads me to the following question - In a Workgroup environment, does the server still try to contact a domain controller to establish a level of trust? If this is the case could it be that the server can no longer see the initial DC
on its new network and this is what is triggering the messages?
Am I clutching at straws here?

How do I set a punch-in point without a punch-out point?

I'm recording an audiobook and I need to set a specific punch-in point where I mess up and then I'd like to continue recording without setting a punch-out point. All I've been able to find so far is punching-in on the fly, but I don't want to do that because I need the punch in point at a specific spot, and I need to be focused on the text and hearing how I was reading it, no focused on pressing record at the right spot. There's got to be a way to turn off the punch-out point using the auto punch... right?

Is it possible to print separate pages on the same sheet in preview. I would like to split a set of class power points to display Page 1 and 2 on the first page, page 3 and 4 on the second page etc.

Setting In and Out points

Is it me or is it a complete PAIN to set in and out points in 7? Used to be easy. It's almost impossible sometimes to grab the playback head without it selecting an i/o point. Once I finally do get the markers where I want 'em, the In point moves when I press play?

You can use the arrow keys (right left) to step through frames. You can use the letters i and o to set in and out points.
Hold down the shift key (after setting a point) and you can use the arrow keys to create a selection.

Setting in-and-out points -- is this possible?

I set in-and-out points in the preview window by dragging the blue triangles.
I would like to sample various parts of a clip, though there are only 2 triangles.
1. Is there a way to take one segment of video and establish in-and-out points for maybe the first 30 seconds of video and than set another in point maybe 1 minute later with a out point 30 seconds after that. So ultimately the encoding will encode two non-sequential segments of video.

You can't do that, but you can achieve what you want by simply dragging in the clip multiple times into Compressor and for each clip, set your in and out point.

I need some clarifications.
What are share point server 2013 & Share point Designer 2013 & Office 365 & Yammer & Share point 2013 & Windows server 2008 server & Windows Server 2012 Server Data Center? How each them are related in collaboration system?
Is Share point server 2013 and Share pointer Designer 2013 available in 32bit version? If not, then how to use it in 32 bit machine by using any VMs?

Windows Server is Windows, but the Server OS. SharePoint runs on top of supported Windows Servers editions (see http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc262485.aspx).
SharePoint Server is 64-bit only (trial:

You will need the capability to run 64bit VMs. Minimum recommended all-in-one VM for SharePoint is to allocate 24GB of RAM, but you can get away with as little as 12GB (I wouldn't go below that). Because of this, it generally rules out 32bit OSes as a virtual
machine host.

New problem/bug when I set in and out points on a clip. Unwanted automatic zoom in on clip timeline.

Playing clips to log and set in and out points for scenes I will use later. Something changed with the new update and I think it is a bug. When I hit the I and O keys to set in and out points on a clip before dragging to the sequence, it zooms in on the clip timeline. I cannot see the full clip time line unless I zoom out which is a pain to do time and time again. How do I get it back to the way it was before? It did not used to zoom in and out, it just marked your in and out point as it played leaving the clip timeline unchanged.

Thanks for your post. I think you are using Premiere pro CS6 as the Project option is included in the file menu and in the video there is an option of project available and visible.
