Setup of FAQs and solution search in ICSS webshop

Dear SAP SDN team
We are currently using SAP CRM 7.0 EHp1.
As per SAP standard best practise, we have configured the ICSS scenarios and setup the FAQs , solution search and live web collaboration.
We are able to login the ICSS B2B and B2C webshops but when we choose FAQs and solution search we do not see any results .. The categories I created for FAQs are not available in the icss and the solution search does not get any results. All XCM settings seem to be fine .
The CRM solution is correctly connected to the TREX system , but not sure where things are going wrong
Could you please help .?
Regards
Dinesh

Hi Dinesh,
The following are the pre-requisites to search the result.
1). You have to configure the necessary settings for SAF.
Spro - CRM - Enterprises Intelligence - SAF
2). You have defined the problems and solutions.
Easy Acccess - Service - Enterprises Intelligence - Define Problems & Solutions
3).You have maintained FAQ   in the backend for a particular product.
Easy Acccess - Service - Enterprises Intelligence - Maintain FAQ
5). RFC connections has been cheked with the Trex.
SM59
4). You should compile the same .
BSP_ Wd_cmpwb  Comp: crmcmp_safadm - Test
After all these steps the data will reflect in the search.
Hope this will clear your issue!

  • FAQ's & Solution Search in CRM ICSS 6.0

    Hi ,
I am working on  CRM 6.O . I want to configure the FAQ & Solution search in ICSS. For this I have defined Probles, Solution and tried to compile the same in in BSP_WD_CMPWB for the component CRMCMP_SAFADM. But during compilation no data is reflecting. I had also configured the SAF.
Can anybody suggest me how to get the FAQ appear in ICSS. ?
    I had already referred the document C13 & C74.
If you have any documents related to these pls suggest..
    regards,
    Sarangamath

So, let me add the step to this that specifically is not working.  Let's add to this the fact that to the Material of Truck, there are attached Warranties and Service Contracts (Truck is part of an equipment master).  So, now I want all Red Trucks which have a Warranty expiring this month AND no Service Contract.  To further explain, the equipment master has a Type (Truck), and either a Warranty or Contract attached to it (either, both, or neither).  So I want to use the AND to identify Trucks that have no Warranty or and expiring one, AND Trucks that have no Service Contract.  I only want Trucks that meet both conditions at the same time.
In our testing, we have found that using the AND with the KEEP functionality it works in all cases EXCEPT when someone owns more than one Truck.  For example, lets say Bob owns two Trucks, one has no Warranty but a Service Contract, and the other Truck has a Warranty, but no Service Contract.  In this case, Bob should not show up in the Target Group because he does not own a Truck that has no Warranty AND no Service Contract.  However, because he shows up in the no Warranty target group for one Truck, and the no Service Contract target group for the other Truck, when you do a KEEP you get Bob in the final Target Group.  Is there any way to find just Trucks that have both no Warranty and no Service Contract?
    Thanks, Bryan

    Hi
You have to create problems & solutions should assigned to that problems.By using transaction IS01,we can create problems & solution.Make sure that status of the problem or solutions should be set to "REL SLA".
Now, Go to transaction CRMD_IIA_FAQ & select the product for which you want to maintained the FAQ's.Select product & press F6 ,assign the problems to that product.

  • SMTP settings in ICSS for  sending emails in FAQ, SOlution search

    Hello All.
We are currently implementing CRM 2007 ICSS. I am able to email FAQ,s and solution search from the default application.
where do we configure the SMTP settings for this?  this functionality is working on my QA server but not on my DEV or PROD system..I dunno why.
I checked the XCM settings, SCOT settings etc. This functionality works even without making any of these SMTP settings in these 2 areas.
Does anything have to be done on the CRM server etc??
    Please advice

    Check the following XCM setting:
    Start
      General Settings
        Customer
          lwc
            lwcconfig
Scroll a couple pages in the configuration, you will see
    mail.smtp.host
    mail.smtp.port

  • Knowledge Search - Problems and Solutions

    Hi,
I am creating Problems and Solutions (in IS01). But that is not visible in knowledge search in IC Webclient.
I have also done compilation in SPRO -> CRM -> Enterpise Intelligence -> SAF, but not getting the result.
    Please Help.
    Regards,
    Ankush

    -  Your IC WebClient Profile should point to the Knowledge Management Profile which point to the Configured Knowledge Base ( Problems and SOlutions )
    - I hope SAF Diagnosis Tool looks good ( CRMC_SAF_TOOL )
    -  I hope you have gone through the Best Practice Document ( help portal ) for Interaction Center which tells step by step ways to configure Knowledge Base

  • Questions on "FAQ - SAP Solution Manager for VARs"

    Hi,
I just got through the FAQ - SAP Solution Manager for VARs, but have some further questions:
For me it is not quite clear which connections are necessary for which VAR scenrio.. currently we have setup the service desk in our solman. Customer's aren't linked to the solman yet - we have saprouter-saprouter connections. Connecting them via SAP support backbone is an interesting option, especially for incident management. To get this working we should follow note 1124718 right?
But what about the other scenarios like maintenance optimizer and ewa monitoring? I guess for that we definitly need to build up RFC connections to each relevant customer system (~300+x)?! I think it will be hard to handle so many connections - just consider if a customer is cancalling the maintenance contract, everything needs to be removed again... best would be to have a central communication point...
For MOPZ we need up-to-date system information. So everyone is talking about SLD. Do you also recommend this option? There we need again a connection (direct to SolMan SLD or via external SLD on customer side).
According to the FAQ there is a workaround for ewa monitoring for customers with security doubts.. is this also working for non-ABAP components? We need SMD and WI for generating ewas for JAVA systems...
With regards to Enterprise Support contract: ewa only need to be monitored for productive systems? Can a customer be charged if they want to have ewas monitored for other sytems too? How long do we need to keep the ewas (1 month, 3 months, half year) before they are deleted? Are there any specific requirements?
All the work to get these scenarios working.. is this covered within the Enterprise Support contract? Can the customer be charged for work thats done by the VAR in their system (e.g. RFC connections, SDCCN, SLD,...)?
Sorry for this long text.. hope you have some helpful ideas!
    Regards,
    Richard

    Hello Richard,
    (1) regarding network connections see document [Draft:Technical Support Network Connections for VAR Scenario|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=00200797470000089947&_OBJECT=011000358700000880802009E] as overview and with a lot of detailed information.
    (2) yes, you have to setup once all your customer connections at the beginning but then only add/remove with customer contract changes
    (3) the workaround by sending by email can handled a anexception. EWA has to be done for productive systems like nowadays done by SAP. Additional EWA services could meas additional business case for a VAR - that's contract between VAR and customer.
    (4) whatever you think may be a business to sell - do it ! (and get a monetary bonus from your boss

  • Maintaining Problems and solutions in IS01

    Hi all,
I am working on CRM 5.0. In it, I have created a problem in IS01. After saving and releasing it, it appears in the search help. But when I try to display or change it, I get an error ' Problem no. xx does not exist'.
    Plz help.
One more query, are FAQs related to the Software Agent Framework(SAF)? I have seen that in SAF, when we go to 'Name and Configure Search Engine', there the host IP and port no. for the search engine are not provided.
    Thanks and regards
    Debolina

    Dear Vikas,
Kindly check C13_BB_Config guide as service marketplace.
It says in section 3.1.5.2.3 on page 57, the below mentioned paragraph.
    3. On screen Create Problem maintain the following data:
Be sure that the descriptions of the following problem(s) and solution(s) are defined in all languages that you want to use (e.g., in the E-Commerce Internet Customer Self-Service).
4.Choose Enter. The default parameters are filled; please also see the NOTE following this description.
5.Enter the problem description listed in the box below. The first line should not exceed 40 characters, for this is like a short description of the problem that will be displayed in the first line of the hitlist in the search.
    hope this helps

  • Compilation of Lenovo X120e issues and solutions

Just thought a compilation of issues may be beneficial for folks who own an X120e.
Screen adjusts brightness automatically without user input depending on content on screen:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X100e-screen-brightness-increasing-by-itself/td...
This is caused by Vari-Bright being enabled in the Catalyst Control Center.  With this option enabled, the screen will automatically adjust its brightness depending on what is shown on the screen.  The display brightness is increased when the screen is predominantly white while the display brightness is decreased when the screen is predominantly dark.  An easiest way to see this effect happening is to have two tabs opened in a web browser window.  Set one tab to display a website that is mainly filled with white pixels (such as this Lenovo Forum) and another tab to display a website that is mainly filled with dark pixels (such as http://www.krijtenberg.nl/ ).  Switch between the two, pausing a few seconds in each tab.
    Solution:
Open the Catalyst Control Center and select the PowerPlay option in the Power section.  Uncheck the Vari-Bright option (or adjust the slider) and click Apply.  Verify that the automatic adjustment is no longer occuring by doing the two tab experiment described above.
Function keys for brightness control not working after waking from sleep / hibernation in some instances:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Funtion-keys-for-brightness-not-working/t...
For my X120e, whenever I have it sleeping or hibernating and change the power source (such as initiating sleep when on power and then waking it up while on battery, or vice versa), the function keys for brightness controls do not work.
    Solution:
Restarting the machine will bring back functionality of the brightness control keys...
A way to prevent this from happening in the first place is to wake the X120e in the same power state that the X120e was put to sleep in (wake up from power adapter if slept while connected to power adapter, or wake up from battery if slept while on battery).
All we can do now is wait for Lenovo to come up with a fix on their side of things.
AMD SATA Controller and TRIM for SSD:
The AMD SATA Controller provided by Lenovo does not support passing of TRIM command according to http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/450343-post35.html for SSDs.  The Lenovo provided AMD SATA Controller is 1.2.1.197, before the official TRIM support in 1.2.1.263.  If you're using a HDD, this is of no concern.
    Solution:
In order to have support for passing of TRIM command, one has to update the AMD SATA Controller to any version above 1.2.1.263 ( http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/integrated_win7-64.aspx#3 for Windows 7 64-bit, for example) or uninstall the AMD SATA Controller to revert back to Microsoft's Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller.
Disclaimer:  Since the AMD SATA Controller driver linked is not from Lenovo themselves, I'm sure they won't provide any support if something is to occur so try at your own risk.
As HP79 mentions below, at least according to the update notes, TRIM implementation is implemented for Hudson chipsets as of 1.2.001.263.
Audio Stutter / Slurring occuring during playback of video/audio:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Stuttering-Audio/td-p/389023
This issue can be reproduced (at least on my X120e) by waking the X120e after putting it to sleep.  The symptom is the audio repeating a sound over a span of a second or two during playback and is quite noticable.
    Solution:
uEFI Bios version 1.11 seems to deal with the audio stuttering issue.  So far, results lead to positive outcomes.
    Old Solution:
PWMTR64V.DLL that is loaded at Startup seems to be causing this issue.  Disabling it from launching when starting up seems to cure the Audio Stutter (even after waking up from sleep which was seen to be a pretty reliable way to get the issue to repro).  Start Menu > Launch MSCONFIG from the Search Bar > Select Startup Tab from the System Configuration window > Uncheck Thinkpad Power Manager > Restart.
This does not seem to turn off the power manager application itself so settings in Power Manager can be saved and it seems to still be in effect.  However, opening up Power Manager from the notification / taskbar can cause audio stuttering and mouse movement slowdown while it is launching and/or when applying settings.  This is only temporary and is gone when Power Manager is closed. (Thanks kns7977 for the find)
Pending to see if those who uninstalled Power Manager are able to turn off the offending startup .dll.
Mouse seems to stutter or stay in place for a moment when moving:
This seems to be caused by the same issue causing the Audio Stutter / Slurring.  At least at this time, the cause of the issue and solution seems to be the same.
Emulating Middle Mouse Button with Trackpoint:
One can set up the middle button between the left and right click button for the TrackPoint to act like pressing a middle mouse button on a standard mouse by changing the scrolling type to Smooth instead of the default Standard.
Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Mouse > UltraNav Tab > Setting for TrackPoint > Setting for Choose Scrolling or Magnifying Glass Function > Smooth.
Trackpad's two finger gesture being hit or miss:
The trackpad's two finger scrolling is very hit and miss.
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-Touchpad-issues/td-p/393751
Solution: Turning off Gesture Filtering may alleviate the problem.  As mentioned in http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/561751-x120e-owners-thread-24.html#post7323293, it seems that the Gesture Filtering is counteracting any sort of two finger input.
Get to Mouse Properties by Fn + F8, select Manage Settings.  At Mouse Properties, select the UltraNav tab > Settings for TouchPad.  Expand the Smart Check Settings, highlight Gesture Filtering, and uncheck the Enable Gesture Filtering box and Apply.
    Screen flickers lines:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Flickering/td-p/389523
Had this issue occur on me once, but never seen it happen again.  Unsure what caused or cured it.
    Solution:
If the flickering is occuring, a restart is all that is needed to alleviate the problem.  Haven't tested if hibernation fixes it, but neither sleep nor turning off the screen with the Power Manager dealt with the flickering.
3-Cell Battery mentioned as a 40Wh in the Order Page of Lenovo X120e when it is actually rated as 32Wh according to Power Manager:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-3-cell-40Wh-battery-reported-as-32Wh-by-P...
    Yeah...
    Solution:
Accept that it's a 32Wh you will get when selecting 3-Cell or go for the 6-Cell if you want more than 32Wh.
2x2 ABGN Driver from Lenovo triggering Error Code 10:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/X120e-ABGN-Driver-issue-in-Windows-7-Pro-x64/td...
The Wireless driver from Lenovo's site seems to not work with the 2x2 ABGN wireless when installed on a fresh copy of Windows 7 x64.
    Solution:
Not really quite a solution, but one can bypass this by either installing the 32-bit Windows 7 and installing the 32-bit driver, or using the factory recovery disc to install 64 bit windows 7 to have it install drivers that work for x64 windows 7.
X120e bluescreens after installing LAN Realtek 7.26.902.2010 drivers from Lenovo's Driver download site.
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-bluescreen-when-installing-lan-drivers/td...
The drivers doesn't seem to work and it causes a bluescreen on fresh installed Windows 7 x64.
    Solution:
As Clicq suggests, Realtek's own drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTy... seems to deal with the issue.
    Screen quality on the X120e:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-poor-LCD-quality-viewing-angles/td-p/3945...
The quality of the screen on an X120e is below expectations.
This is common with low-quality TN panels not helped by glossy displays.  My personal X120e screen likes to bleed certain colors of red.
    Solution (not really):
One can use the Windows 7 built-in color calibration tool to adjust the colors to make it more tolerable.  Adjusting your own viewing angle in relation to the screen might deal with some color issues (hard to figure out what's the correct viewing angle because of TN panel's small range of optimal viewing angles).  Also, changing the refresh rate to 60Hz may deal with some headaches due to the screen (as it did for me).
    HDMI Overscan to HDTV issue:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/HDMI-overscan-to-HDTV-issue-on-x120e/m-p/395335
There is a black border when outputting to HDTV through HDMI.
    Solution:
AMD's CCC by default sets a specific value for overscan / underscan.  One can http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/Output-to-TV-via-HDMI-port-black-border-on-the-... while the device is connected via HDMI (the option is hidden if the HDMI port is not used) and adjust the slider to an acceptable value.
Skype asserts after 10-20 seconds of video chat:
    http://forum.lenovo.com/t5/X-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/x120e-Skype-quits-after-10-20-seconds-of-video/...
When doing a video chat, the video feed will freeze and then skype will crash to desktop.
    Solution:
Version 5.3 of Skype seems to be the culprit.  Until Skype itself is fixed, one can use Skype 5.2.60.113 from http://www.filehippo.com/download_skype/changelog/9465/ to bypass this issue.  Just reject any offer to update to 5.3 after installing 5.2, for now.
If there is anything I missed, please respond and I'll update this post with new information.  These are the ones that I have encountered so far with my Lenovo X120e.  Don't get me wrong, I like my X120e... it's just been a "learning" experience lol

  • E55 e-mail issues and solutions.

The main problem of Nokia E55 e-mail (and AFAIK generic Nokia e-mail problems) is there are too much support for email but poorly documented. I just discovered everything I'll write here by my own trying to figure out the problems. This message is also a bug report if Nokia cares.
First, there are many ways to setup an email account (or mailbox in Nokia jargon). Just to name the ones I know:
(Assumption, you got some internet connection.)
    1. Go to Control panel, settings, general, personalization, one touch keys, messaging key, short press and select email setup. Then close the menu and short press the messaging one touch key. An application will start, check for connection and then asks for an email address. If you continue, you'll see that the setup options are few and useless. If you check the task manager by long pressing the menu button, you'll see a @ sign.
    2. Go to menu and select email to start Email 2.1.0 application. Select "new" and settings wizard will start then it starts a screen with email on top. Then, you need to press start and it will show you some commercial (free or not, but commercial) email options together with "other" option.
2.a. If you choose any commercial email provider (e.g.. gmail) and enter your address and password, the application will "detect your email settings" which means your phone will communicate with a nokia server and the nokia server will log in for you as a man-in-the-middle. Then, the application will download a contract in your language and ask to sign it. If you don't accept see 2.b, if you accept the contract, it means the "Nokia Messaging Service" will be enabled. Nokia messaging service is hosted at http://email.nokia.com. (A very bad, confusing name) From now on, NOKIA WILL KEEP YOUR EMAIL PASSWORD (with some poor privacy act based on the unbalanced contract) and Nokia will access your mail in your name, Nokia will be able to change your email settings, Nokia will be able to delete your email messages Just like the well-known man-in-the-middle attack in crypto courses. (See TR's note of Aug 26, 2010 18:18 at http://noknok.tv/2010/05/26/how-to-set-up-nokia-messaging/)
2.b. If you decline the contract or choose "other" that Nokia doesn't know how to access your account, then the application won't enable Nokia messaging service (*) and the application will enable the email access protocols already installed on your phone. Thus, you'll access your email directly and Nokia will not keep your email password. In that option, you may need to enter more server settings. But IMHO, it worth it.
(*) Oh, yes. This is a very good point. If you're willing to use the Nokia Messaging Service but doesn't have a commercial account, you can't enable it. At least, you can't enable it as you pay. E55 includes fuzzy-lifetime service agreement. If you go directly to the site and sign up yourself online, you'll get a trial service agreement. Not the full service you've already paid. (See TR's notes above to understand what fuzzy-lifetime is. Shortly, you can enable it just once for just one person but not for each person using the same phone.)
    3. This is the tricky one. I found only one way to configure my email in that way but it has the most detailed settings for your account and it connects to the server directly. Bad news is, you can set only one mailbox up with that method. Go to menu, messaging, options, settings, email, options, new mailbox, start, enter your address and password, choose imap/pop, enter server settings, save. You'll see the default mailbox box will change. (But you won't see the mailbox in the messaging application [the app we've started by selecting menu then messaging]. I don't know if this is a bug or a feature.) Suddenly, the Email 2.1.0 application will start and it will try to take the control of your mailbox. Don't let. Selecting options, exit close that application. You'll be in the messaging application's menu again. Another options, exit closes this application too, and will take you to the main screen. Now, the tricky part. If you go and check Email 2.1.0 application, you'll see your mailbox is there. If you go to the messaging application, it won't show you your mailbox. Still, if you go options, settings, email, you'll see your mailbox as the default. Ok, who cares. Now, the settings. If you shortly press the email one touch key, you'll see your mailbox in the messaging application. If you select options then Email settings you'll get hell a lot of settings to set your mailbox. This is the only way I know to see the "Email settings" menu item and set the mailbox in detail. Remember that, there are projections of these settings on the Email 2.1.0 application's menu with less options.
There may be other setups for exchange and so on but I didn't check that options. These were already enough for my brain to explode.

    Continues...
The third solution is the native solution, I think (as it doesn't support html messages and Nokia Email 2.1.0 and Nokia messaging service are marketed to be able to read HTML messages).
Another issue of the third solution is that the settings in the native messaging application and the settings in the Email 2.1.0 are sometimes conflicting. So you need to crosscheck them after you set up.
Nokia hardly have IMAP-idle support. So, don't trust on it. The very basic example of such is, you seem to be connected with the fancy green circle at the top right but when you try to read any email, you'll be asked to connect to internet continuously and you won't be able to fetch or read the message.
I checked many IMAP server logs to realize this issue. The problem is, as Nokia doesn't keep the credentials and disconnect from the server way too early, server generally interprets it as "remote party disconnected". And if you ask to fetch something again the second time, it creates an SSL 41 error (certificate not found) and closes the connection.
(Yes, I got SSL installed in my mail server. I think nearly everybody has it in these days.)
Another thing is about the "Nokia messaging service" It has hardly any customer support and it goes offline from time to time. Sometimes, you cannot reach the server even from your PC or if you can reach, you cannot configure anything.
For example, it is possible that it creates an account for you that you aren't aware of. The account creation is automated and the username/password pair is set as the first email address you've logged in with your phone. Sometimes people are unaware of this and when they change their passwords on their accounts, their email suddenly gets disconnected. Also, sometimes they cannot remember their old passwords or their old mailboxes not in use anymore.
Second, it maps many personal data altogether, which is against privacy. I realized this issue by practice. Here is my story:
I got an mail account, say [email protected] and I created a nokia messaging service account with this email. This is normally a "trial period" subscription of which the username/password pair is identical to my mail account. Namely, [email protected] and some password. I also added my second email account, [email protected] to my nokia messaging account. During account creation, the site asked me about my phone number.
Then, I bought E55 which has lifetime nokia messaging service subscription. I switched on my brand new E55 and try to configure my email. By chance, I started with [email protected]. So, Nokia created an [email protected] nokia messaging account for me. (I realized that account creation afterwards and it was a phone-lifetime subscription.) Then, I added my second email [email protected] on my phone.
What the duck, everything was scrambled. After I realize the double Nokia messaging accounts issue, I decided to delete the old one, which was a trial. At the end, I actually got a lifetime. So I logged in to the service and cancelled my first account. What do you expect? Nokia messaging service deleted both of my accounts and all email messages from both of my phones. I was lucky that I backed them up recently. I can't imagine to lose all my business mail because of the poor and ill policies of Nokia. Moreover, now, I can't get another phone-lifetime subscription to the service in the first week of my phone. Very nice...
Still, I got the third issue. I mentioned that I was checking my servers' logs to understand what's going on. After I tried to delete one (but practically deleted both) of my nokia messaging accounts, there shouoldn't be any references to my servers. Do you think so?
These are some of the IP's trying to connect to my mail server even after the messaging accounts are deleted:
    131.228.18.22
    131.228.18.67
    131.228.18.30
    131.228.18.40
When you check them at geo locator, they're all in Finland... Very nice... The only way I found was changing all my accounts passwords to get rid of the great and fancy Nokia eavesdropping service. After that, these IP's started to try the same password to log in. Currently, Nokia is trying to log in 6 times every 15 minutes to my mail accounts. I don't know when they'll stop trying. They're like terminators, they never give up.
Advice: IF YOU EVER SUBSCRIBED TO NOKIA MESSAGING SERVICE, JUST CHANGE ALL YOUR EMAIL PASSWORDS ASAP.
The fourth issue is about the setup process again. If you connect to the internet during setting up the email (Second option above), wizard runs so slowly, because it is trying to connect to the Nokia server (to send your username and password to Nokia databases).
This is probably one of the reasons why people end up waiting for minutes and cannot get a mailbox at the end.

    Dear Vikas,
Kindly check C13_BB_Config guide as service marketplace.

  • How to Setup Service Desk and CHARM in Solu Man 4.0

    Hi Gurus
I am New to Solution Manager 4.0 and i want to setup Service Desk and Change Request Management for my client. Any one help me to guide where i can start and after configuring how the functionality of service desk and change request management.
Can anybody send the documents with screen shot how to configure and how it lokks after Configuration.
My client requirement is he wants to make Service desk as a ticketing tool and Charm as Change management tool
    Please help me
    Piont rewarded for solution
    Rajesh

    Hello
I have configured Ibase for Charm, i followed spro config info as follows:
Manually Create and Assign the Component Systems asiBase
In this IMG activity, you define the Installed Base (iBase) manually, that is for refreshing existing iBases after solutions have been changed.
An iBase component has to be created for each satellite system from which Service Desk messages will be sent to the SAP Solution Manager system.
For the Value Added Reseller (VAR), it is not absolutely necessary to manually define the iBase at this point. We recommend, however, that you carry out this step so that you have a functioning test scenario.
    Activities
    1. In transaction Change Installed Base (IB52), choose iBase No. 1 (SOL_MAN_DATA_REP).
    2. Create under the IBase Header (SOL_MAN_DATA_REP) an IBase component, for example the SAP component system (SAP WEB AS) or use an existing one.
    3. To assign the systems as iBase components, go to the Text item tab.
Three components are included in the standard package.
    4. Add all the satellite systems as text items to the table:
Column Short text: Description of the system
Column Identification: System ID, installation number, client
    5. Save.
After changes have been made to a solution, repeat these steps to update system landscape data for iBase.
    Note:
Every system is only listed once in the iBases. That means a system is not listed in an iBase if it has been listed in another iBase before.
If the identification is not entered correctly, the system cannot correctly identify the component from the incoming Service Desk message.
Its really good and I have set up the config in that way only.
    If useful reward the points.
    Thanks
    Regards

  • Best Practice on Knowledge Management, IS01 Problems and Solutions

Been Playing with KM and looking for insight from other users (will give points) using it for ICWC.
We have mulitple product lines where we have documents with Q & A's in each line.  As I look at moving that into CRM via IS01, I am looking for any Best Practices or recommendations.
    1. Create a single problem and solution for every question.
    2. Create a single problem (list all questions)  for every product line and create multiple solutions that are linked to that problem (solution for each question)
    3. Is LMSW a good tool for loading data in mass?
The ICWC search brings back the 1st line on the problem & solution on the screen, meaning I try to limit the characters used so it fits on the ICWC screen, a long 1st line on the problem doesn't allow the agent to see enough of the solution without opening the link.
    Thanks,

    Hello Glenn,
If it helps, here's a scenario about KB on my company system.
Our call center supervisors are the persons who creates problem and solutions in our KB. They maintain it but don't use IS01 transaction. They use instead  People Centric BSP's for Problem s and solutions (they're integrated in IC webclient with the help of transaction launcher).
Normally, they prefer creating multiple solutions to one problem, instead of single problem - single solution method. This because some questions may have multiple solutions. They could put all the solutions text in one solution object, but for maintainance purposes we think it's better to create multiple solutions object to every solution text, because if one solution becames obsete, all we have to do is unlink instead of changing the text.
We don't use LSMW. I don't have much experience in LSMW, but if you use it, be careful to respect KB interval numbers for problems and solutions. We implement an initial set of problems and solutions in our Development system, and we passed to the Quality and Produtive system, with the precious help of sap note '728295 - Transport the SDB customization between two CRM systems' and '728668 -Transport the content of the SDB between two CRM systems'.
One cool idea to use the KB is using Auto-suggest feature. The idea is to integrate the links between problems and solutions with, for example, service ticket categorization, using BSP Category modeler, and when an agent classifies a ticket, at the top of the screen it will appear the suggested solutions/problems for the classification choosen.
    I think that's all.
Sorry for my poor english. Today I'm not feeling very inspirated
    Kind regards.

  • EP and Solution Manager Via Webdispatcher

    Solution Manager Via Webdispatcher
    Dear All,
We have installed the Webdispatcher 7.4 and did the SSL setup and maintained necessary parameters to  access our Portal and ECC systems from internet and its working fine for indepedent Java and ABAP stack.
Now when we are trying to access the solution manager via webdispatcher using webgui, it opens but when its calling the webdynpros like solman_setup, the page is not openning. The same case is in our portal system also, when its calling the webdynpro of backend system its not openning.
During our analysis we found the urls are called from the local machine to the backend host (ABAP)  directly and there is no where its communicating the webdispatcher.
Can you please guide me what kind up setup can be done to access the Portal and solution manager complete functionality via webdispatcher.
I have checked many posts on the forum and was totally confused on the solution approches. So trying to filter it down to do a proper setup which is feasible to our landscape and infra team.
FYI Our Solman is on 7.1 SPS10 and portal is on 7.4, OS windows
Looking forward for your valuable inputs
    Thanks & Regards,
    Satyabrat

    Thanks Samuli,
I tried it..its working for solman but in my ECC (NW 7.31) its not working for web dynpros. Its going to hostname:8001 port and not redirecting to webdispatcher.
Pleae let me know if I am missing something.
    Thanks & Regards,
