Shaking after time stretch

I've just tried out the new Premier Elements 11. Love the new format and once I found my way around, I really like the flow much better than 10.
I made sure I had my project for 11 set up like 10, and the settings on my Sony HCR-CX260V are exactly the same. When I apply the time stretch (above 100%) and render, the edited result in 11 is severe shakiness. When I used the same footage and applied the exact same % of time stretch in 10, the result was as smooth as can be. I use time stretch in almost every video I create so I really hope there is a fix for this (or you can tell me what I'm doing wrong in 11 that has changed from 10) as the flow in 11 is better. Have you tried using Time Remapping instead?
Are you seeing the shakiness even after you render the file?
Can you post a sample of this shakiness and link to it so that we can see what you're talking about? "Shakiness" could mean anything from frame rate stutter to a need for stabilization to an exaggeration of hand-held camera movements. We can't say for sure without looking at it.

Lost transitions after time stretch video texts

How do I get back to the original project I opened to work on? I realized the text duration was 5 sec and needed to be 6 sec. I used the Time Stretch on the text title to increase about 30 text titles by 1 sec ea. I rendered and saved in batches of 10. Results were that the transitions between scenes "went away." I then replaced these transitions, rendered and results were Text titles were moved. This is a mess and I want to start from where I left off Please help. Thank You :-)

You can try to open one of the auto-saves, in the sub-folder in the same folder as your project file.
But meantime, don't time-stretch a title to extend it. Just stretch it longer on your timeline.

Time stretch audio file to match tempo of track

Hi everyone, I am a new user of Logic express, and have found the info on this site extremely helpful, in conjunction with SFlogicninja's tutorials on youtube.
However, after watching a recent tutorial on Time stretching audio, i am now completely confused. Similar to the tutorial, i am trying to fit an audio region(an acapella track) to the tempo of the project. I have beat mapped the region to establish a tempo, but would like to experiment with slowing down or speeding up the track as a whole. As the acapella was created outside of Logic, i am bouncing the acapella track in order to be able to 'follow tempo'(as shown in the inspector). I have disabled the 'normalize' checkbox and bounced, but the bounced track still does not have the 'follow tempo' option in the inspector.
Any ideas as to why my bounced files cannot follow tempo. I can do it with audio that i create in Logic, but if i import any files, i was under the impression that by bouncing it within Logic, i could still obtain the same results?
I'm running out of hair to pull out!

Choppy or Digitized Audio w Time Stretch

Hi Guys,
I've got some audio I've been chopping and time stretching (voiceover to replace a video with poor audio). The VO was recorded in a 96kHz 24bit WAV file, and sounds great when I first played it. However, after I've been chopping (with the blade tool) and timestretching in STP, I'm finding that the audio now sounds digitized or choppy.
Does anyone know what's happening here and what I can do to fix it?

Varispeed only works on the Masterbus, the final output of all tracks. Bouncing the output leaves you a 2-track master.
It's not an easy task because for one, your software tracks are MIDI based, their output is indeed audio but input is MIDI. To use Varispeed you would have to individually bounce each track/take, a mammoth job.
Perhaps someone can help you with Flex which may be you're best bet but is something I don't use very often.

Time Stretch in Premier Elements 10 prevents moving of clips in Timeline

Time Stretch in Premier Elements 10: after using it the Icon will not go away and I cannot now click-on and slide clips in the timeline. How can this be resolved?.

Time stretch function based on frames...

Hey everyone!
Okay so I have an audio file which I've tried to match up to a video file in FCP, the audio is aprox 130 frames faster than the video after about 45 minutes in the timeline.
based on that information is there a certain way to adjust it in Soundtrack using the time stretch function? or is it all guess work? I tried to follow a simple online tutorial on time stretching but I couldn't seem to comprehend how to do it in my circumstance, so I guess it wasn't so simple.
I would really appreciate any help you folks can offer.

There doesn't seem to be any normal pull up or pull down factor at work here, likely just 2 unclocked devices.
The best bet is measure the video length in STP - HH.MM.SS.ss and then apply the TimeStretch process to the audio file to make it the same length. Even then it may not be in perfect sync all the way through the program because of drifting clocks when it was recorded.

Time stretch percentage is greyed out

I'm trying to adjust the speed of a clip using the time stretch tool, but when I click on time stretch, the percentage is greyed out and I'm not able to modify it. I'm using Premiere Elements 10. Is this not a feature of Premiere Elements and is only available in Premiere Pro?

Time Stretch, by the way, can not be applied to titles any more than it can be applied to stills. Because, technically, they don't have "time". They're still graphics (even if you've applied animations to them).
Extending the clip should very much slow down the animation. But I guess it depends on which animation you've applied.
Is it roll/crawl animation? Or is it one of the Text Animations in the Title workspace? Or is it from somewhere else?
If it's one of the Text Animations, try going back into the Title workspace (after you've lengthened the clip's duration), select the text block and remove the animation -- then re-apply the animation.

Time stretch or increase video still

I'm creating a video slide show from my niece's wedding photos and I wanted to increase the duration of 40 - 50 slides so that they end at the same time as the music. Suggestions?
I can time stretch one image or cut short the music but that is not the desired effect I would like.
I'm using PE 7 any suggestions would be great.

To adjust the Duration of Stil Images, one has two options:
They can go to Edit>Preferences>Still Image Duration, and make the adjustment there. However, this is ONLY for Stills that are Imported, after the change. It does not affect any Still Images that are already Imported. Now, one can Delete certain Imported Images, and Import them again, after this change.
Or, one can Click+drag on the Tail of a Still, to increase its Duration, from that, with which it was Imported. When I do this, I like to have the Info Panel open, to see exactly how I am changing that Duration.

Clips shift position on timeline when using time stretch

Premiere Elements 10, Win 7 x64,
I put together a timeline that had four video tracks. When I added a fifth track I started having problems. Specifically, when I put a still image or video clip onto the fifth track and then used time stretch on that newly added clip, the existing clips on the third and fourth tracks shifted their position on the timeline in response to the time stretch applied to the clip on the track above. Why does this happen? I would expect the clips on the lower video tracks to NOT move position in response to a time stretch change to a clip on a track above. How I can I get them to stay put while manipulating the duration of clips on the tracks above them?

When Adobe was designing the operations on the PrE Timeline, it was determined that the majority of users WOULD want the Ripple. That does seem to be the case. The addition of the Ctrl/Cmd modifier key accommodates those users, or those instances, where the Ripple is not desired.
Interestingly, PrPro, PrE's "big-brother" does things in the opposite order. The user holds down the Ctrl/Cmd key to GET the Ripple. The designers figured that the users of PrPro would have different desires, than those of PrE. As I use both programs, I have to keep reminding myself which program I am using at that time - to get the Ctrl/Cmd modifier key working, as I wish, in each program - just the opposite of each other.

Graphical Time Stretch Problem/Bug??

Hello.
I've dragged a region of audio from the audio bin on to an audio track in the arranger. It is a kick drum track.
Holding down option and clicking the bottom right hand corner of the audio region i then proceed to graphically time stretch it by a small amount (one or 2 bar divisions).
Upon doing this logic warns me about time stretching. I click ok. Time stretching occurs but my audio region has moved forward a few milliseconds. What this means is i lose the accent of my kick drum on the first beat.
Is this a bug or some fault of my own? I am definately time stretching, not length changing. However upon going through the above proceedure the undo is titled "Undo Adjust Region Length"
It is very strange. No other users have reported this problem. Being new to logic i assume I am missing something.
I'm using logic 8.01.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there, this isn't a bug. I'm going to guess that there's a problem with your kick drum.
Every audio region has something called an anchor. That's the part of the wave that should always be on the beat. If your sample has some silence before the kick starts (even a relatively small amount) the silence is staying on the beat but the silence is being stretched along with the rest of the sample, making your kick even later.
Open up the audio editor for your kick and see where the anchor point is. You can find the anchor in the strip just below the wave form. Move the anchor to the start of the sound (or even a little bit after, perhaps the loudest point of the wave) and try everything again.
What happens now is that the whole wave gets stretched but the anchor point will always be on the beat.

High quality time stretch

After experimenting with time stretch in Audition 3.0 for a project, and comparing the best I could obtain from that with the best I could obtain with "Amazing Slow-Downer" (ASD), I found ASD to produce better time stretching. I still need to do some more experimenting, but this leads me to wonder if people have recommendations for stand-alone software or Audition plugins for good quality time stretching.

DEF need another app to get anything usable for time stretching.i would suggest melodyne for using it INSIDE of logic. outside of L8 you could use either melodyne or waves soundshifter (although the waves needs a host that will 'apply' plugins to the waveforms like cubase or pro tools.
these 2 yeild the best results, or you could get pro tools and give the X-Form plug a try, really nice results (the best IMO for strictly timestretching). melodyne will give the option of fixing timing inside the file as well.
just a couple of options.
oh, and theres izotope radius that will let you use it in place of L8s time machine, but would prob come in 3rd behind the other suggestions as far as quality.

Absence quota zero after Time Evaluation

We are generating Absence quota automatically after Time evaluation. But CL/PL/SL leave quota generated is zero after TE.
Even I am not able to edit Absence quota(IT2006) manually or through IT2013.
Please guide me, what needs to be done.

Thanks for your response. No am not able to simulate the situation, it happen just once in PRD server.
I do agree that some one might have chaned the value. But if the quota is generated by time evaluation then you cannot changed the record directly in infotype (2006). Time evaluation generated quota can be changed on through infotype 2013.
I do request all the expert please share your thoughts. Please do let me know what could be the problem here.

Is there a way to put system to sleep after Time Machine runs?

I don't need to run Time Machine every hour, especially since my TM disk is on Firewire and not built in (had a disk fail with TM volume on same disk - bad idea)
When TM runs, it has to spin up the Firewire external disk, so I just run TM by hand now. I'd like to do this when I go to dinner or to sleep etc
Is there a way to have the Mac system sleep after Time Machine finishes running? An AppleScript perhaps?

I have not seen one, and that is exactly how I use TM. Unmount, turn off the drive. Turn on the drive, the backup volume mounts automatically and TM resumes its scheduled backups.
Your Console logs will reveal the times in which TM attempted to back up but could not find the device:

Which firmware your N8 having now? You can check firmware by choosing Call, then type *#0000#.
My N8 works fine on security setting and able to define Phone auto lock period, by choosing Menu>Settings>Phone>Phone management>Security settings>Phone and SIM card>Phone auto lock period>User defined>Lock after(minutes)
You will prompt to enter Lock code each time u define auto lock priod or enable/disable auto lock.

IOS 5 Calendar app current time bar off after time switch

Here is a issue I have recently noticed. Yesterday we had time fall back one hour. On my Macbook, Iphone 4, and Ipad2, the system time is showing correctly(the time in menu bar on the Mac, and in the top system bar on iOS). On my two Ios5 devices however, in the "Calendar" app, the little bar with the red dot (i refer to as the "current time bar") still shows one hour ahead. So for example the actual time in Los Angeles, CA right now is 3:19 PM but in the calendar app on both Ios devices it shows as 4:19 PM. Keep in mind that the system time is showing 3:19 PM on both of these devices. I logged into the http://www.icloud.com web site and it shows correctly. On my Mac book running MacOSX 10.7.2 everything shows up ok (both system time and iCals current time bar). I am connected to Wi-Fi and 3G. I do have time zone support enabled on all devices, but turning that off did not help anything and I don't see how that could be causing this. What is causing this? Is this a bug in iOS5? Please let me know if you are experiencing the same issue so we can have Apples developers fix this bug. Thanks have a nice afternoon.

What I know:
System time on Mac, Iphone and Ipad shows up as the right time
Current time bar in iCal on MacOSX 10.7.2 shows right
Current time bar in Calendar on icloud.com shows right

This post seems to be experiencing the same issue.

I'm having the same issue... the time is right on my phone, however the time-bar is showing DST (one hour ahead). I've restarted the phone... checked my iCloud time zone, etc... even tried turning on/off the Time Zone support not only for the phone but also in the Calendar... nothing.
So in the end, correct time but the time-bar is incorrect. I hope this is just a bug that needs fixing by Apple...
