Shared documents not recieved by recipient

This undermines the whole paradigm.
I've shared documents with 2 people today and neither has received their invite to share.
It can't go on I tell you!

I'm very sorry to hear it. Any chance they hit their spam folders and/or were filtered out by some kind of corporate spam filtering?

  • Shared documents not showing up in Caching mode?

    We're running GW 7.0.2 here. I have a user that created a shared folder
    and threw two documents into the folder. All users who can see the shared
    folder has no problem seeing the documents when they're in online mode.
    However, my users in Caching mode does not see the document, no matter how
    they update their Cache via Send/Retrieve or Retrieve Entire Mailbox. I
    even tried giving the users rights to the document and forced a
    QuickFinder update and they still don't see it. Any ideas?
    TIA,
    Howard

    Well, I was able to get around the problem by forcing my Caching users
    over to Online mode and then back. This fixes the problem. Which is weird.
    However, I have one user that keeps getting the error:
    Unable to open the document.
    8503: The online groupwise system is no longer available. your document will be saved to your Cachine Mailbox and sent to your Online Mailbox the next time GroupWise connects to your Online GroupWise Sytem.
    I looked up the information and I found this TID which seems to be what I
    need:
    http://www.novell.com/support/search...200%2050710452
    However, it says that I need to add a Proxy address and need to change the
    Internet Proxy Client/Server port.
    Supposedly, the proxy address is a server/machine that will redirect the
    request from the Internet to the private network. The thing that confuses
    me here is the fact that all the IP addresses I have specified on my POA
    are public IP addresses that could access the Internet in the first place.
    So I don't understand how changing the port or adding a proxy server
    address will fix this problem. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Sites Shared Documents not showing

    I created a private site,
    it has a few layers and on my end I can see all the documents, but when the people that I had shared the file go through the site suddenly the cannot see what's inside the folders, the only thing they see is "There is not items to display"
    I even changed the permissions to all groups to full control to see if that would fix it but no dice, then I thought it would be because there is more that 5,000 files so I tries with a much smaller site and the same thing happened.
    any thoughts ? please help thanks

    Have you made sure the files are checked in? If versioning is enabled and there is no checked in version, only you will see the file and no one else. If there is a little green arrow in the bottom corner of the document's icon, it means it's
    checked out. You can also look under the Document Library Settings for "Manage files with No Checked in Version" to see a list of files you need to check in.
    Please let me know if this helps.

  • Recipient not recieving the e-mail.

    Hi,
    I have been sharing a file with no problem til today. The recipient is not recieving the e-mail with the link. Is there a problem on Adobe's end? It worked fine all last week. I have even re-entered the e-mail address and uploaded the pdf again. I need for it to go through today.
    Thanks,
    Sandy

    Hi Sandy,
    Thank you for your post. The URL for the file doesn't change, so your recipient should be able to access it from the first email. As a potential work around, you can copy and paste the file url into an email from your own email client and send it again that way. Sorry for the inconvenience, I will follow up to make sure this isn't a system wide issue.

  • How can I use pages.app to edit an iCloud shared document?

    Sharing a pages doc on iCloud is pretty easy. However the recipent/collaborator the document is shared with appears to be able to edit such document only through the browser on iCloud. What if the collaborator has his/her own pages.app installed on the Mac, is it not possible to somehow link or download the shared document so that he/she can use his pages.app on the Mac to do all the editing and viewing?

    The second option assumes a service other than Apple's icloud with more direct file management. For example: Download the DropBox apps and set up an account (basic account is free). Load the files to DropBox via Pages using Open in another app, or via the dropbox website in a browser on a computer (the latter would be much quicker). From the Dropbox app, you can open them in Pages and save the file there. Box will do the same thing.
    But honestly, just because particular files exist in icloud doesn't mean you actually have to open them on a specific device. Might be much easier to get creative with some folder naming and leave them as is.

  • Can multiple people edit and update a shared document in Numbers?

    Hi!
    Just a quick one for you guys!
    I have recently discoverer 'Numbers' which is great! I then discovered you could share a spreadsheet which is perfect for us as we quiet often need to be working in the same document from our iPhones. However, we do not seem to be able to see each others changes on the shared document. Is it actually possible for us to both work in the spreadsheet and it automatically update each others spreadsheet or is it that when we are done editing, we can only send it to our own iCloud?
    Thanks!
    Ry

    If you share an iCloud link, you can all edit the same document through a web browser.  But it has to be a "full" web browser.  Mobile Safari on the iPhone can't handle it.
    If you're editing the document in Numbers for iOS then others won't be able to see your changes. You'll have to email or share a link to your edited version.

  • Shared review not working for Acrobat Reader

    I can not believe have not been able to find an anwer to this, sorry if it has been asked before.
    I am trying to setup shared review with clients running Acrobat Standard XI and Acrobat Reader XI, I am currently using a Sharepoint server for the review server if it matters.
    When I send a shared review from Acrobat Standard XI to a user on Acrobat Reader XI, the user is unable to make shared review comments.  The shared review will work when sent to other Standard or Pro XI users.  Any ideas?  I have been looking at this for sometime now, and know the user has full rights to the Sharepoint server.  Is there some setting I am missing in Reader?
    Thank you
    Update:
    I may be finding my own question, but really can not verify.  Must you have Acrobat Pro for shared review to work with Reader?  (I only have standard for pc)

    Priyanja, your statement is ture.  Reviews initiated with Acrobat Standard can only be participated through Acrobat Pro or Standard.  However, this is NOT by design.  It is a bug.  The Adobe website makes this very clear.  The site is:       http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/shared-pdf-document-reviews.html
    Gather feedback faster than ever
    "Send a document out for shared review to collect comments in one place. Anyone with free Adobe Reader 9 software or later can see and build on each other’s feedback, saving time with fewer emails and meetings."

  • Adding query string to files already within shared documents

    Am a Sharepoint newbie, so hopefully this is an easy one. Am trying to add a query string to some hyperlinks (of PDF files) that are already published in a Shared Documents web part. What's the best way to accomplish this? Can't seem to find an easy
    way to edit the raw HTML anchor tag, which would be so simple. Is the anchor tag HTML exposed someplace where I can edit?
    Thanks in advance.

    You could potentially modify the rendering of a specific Shared Documents by modifying the XSL of your view in SharePoint Designer. However, this will not affect all libraries and not all views of the library, just the specific page.
    The jQuery method is actually very easy and can be deployed site-wide by adding a reference to your MasterPage, or to a specific view / page by using the Content Editor Web Part. The actual jQuery would look something like:
    $(document).ready(function() {
    $("a[href$='.pdf']").attr('href', function(i, v) {
    return v + '#YourCustomQueryString';

  • Using 10.6.8, internet pdf documents not opening using Adobe Reader; how is this corrected?

    Using 10.6.8, internet pdf documents not opening using Adobe Reader; how is this corrected?  I've tried changing "sharing and permissions" to "read and write" as suggested on other help sites, but this did not correct the problem.

    I had the same problem---contacted Adobe and their service rep helped me by
    A.   Deleting  Adobe Reader from my iMac's Applications in Finder
    B.   Downloading Google Chrome browser and then
    C.   Downloading the latest Adobe Reader for Mac 10.6.8 in Google Chrome--it works
    Adobe acknowledges problem with the latest Snow Leopard update 10.6.8 and with this work around, I can open PDF's using the Google Chrome Browser.
    Is this the ideal solution---NO.  Safari is my main browser. I now have to use a separate browser for PDF's.
    Am I happy to be able to open PDF's---YES
    You can't believe the time I spent to solve this problem before calling Adobe for help. My Apple Care policy expired a month ago . As I use Photoshop Elements, I was not charged by Adobe for their help on the telephone.

  • "Document Not Saved" Microsoft Excel 2010 SP1

    We have a remote office which has a 2mb WAN link, The users in the remote office have a variety of Office installs from 2003 to 2010 SP1.
    When attempting to open an excel file over the WAN link (The file is on our main shared drive in Sydney) they can open and edit the document however when it comes to saving they receive "Document not saved" and the original document is gone and a .tmp file
    remains where the original file was on the network drive/shared folder.
    If they then hit save a second time it saves correctly and the document is in the correct .xls format.
    The excel files do have some funky tables etc in them and are a few mb's in size, however we have the same issue with a new excel document with only one word written in it.
    Does anyone know what would be causing this issue?
    We have tried added NetworkResiliency and PivotTableNetworkResiliency as per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291204.
    We have tried removing certain hot fixes from Microsoft as mentioned in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/983458.
    We added the share to be a trusted site.
    There are no errors in Event Viewer.
    I have found another few threads on similar issues with no fix:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/office2010/thread/f559b061-b98f-4b33-ab8a-d1a41d2e8cb8/
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officeappcompat/thread/4af962a0-d883-4e82-8995-7eb766d6c720
    We do have a RiverBed at the remote office and one at the site in Sydney which is for network optimization. On the RiverBed with have all CIFS ports added and QoS marking done so it should be optimized.
    Any assistance with how to fix this annoying issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    We're having the same exact issue in our office where we just installed a new Riverbed Steelhead as well... only happening in that office as well...User opens a document on a network share that the rest of the company works from day to day, they save 10
    or 20 minutes later and BAM... "There has been a network or file permissions error. The network connection may be lost", then a non-hidden *.tmp file is then created in the same network directory as the actual file and the original file doesn't get
    written to, you click [OK] on the error and then try to save again and it magically works...and you're left with a messy TMP file as well in the directory now. I doubt it's related to antivirus, definitely not firewall, reinstalling/repairing office and tweaking
    settings doesn't help, I agree it has nothing to do with locking files or read-only files as they're plain old word docs and excel files...MAYBE it has to do with the Riverbed WANOP appliance but either way... don't you love how this thread just randomly died
    with no solutions? :'(   Thanks Micro$oft ;)
    {Edit} Oh! And one last thing...this MIGHT help steer someone in the right direction in the future... there could be a problem related to your network filer such as a NetApp appliance, EMC, Netgear etc where there is an SMB version mis-match or a bug of some
    kind requiring you to apply a patch your storage device in order to fix this type of issue.

  • Extend/modify deadline in Acrobat Pro 8 shared document review

    Is it possible to extend or modify the deadline for an Acrobat Pro 8 shared document review?

    Christian,
    No it's not possible to extend/modify the deadline in Acrobat 8 shared reveiws. These features have beed added in Acrobat 9. In Acrobat 8, the reviewers can add comments even after the deadline has expired. The review file can however be checked out of the review by saving a copy of the file using the 'save an archive copy' option under file menu(File> Save as archive copy), when the reveiw process is complete.
    Thanks,

  • Shared documents and UCM

    We are in the process of replacing our shared network drives with UCM in my organization, and during our information audits we have discovered that many folks throughout the organization make rampant use of shared Excel files. We are now being asked how UCM can support these documents, and we have no answers.
    Does anyone know of a UCM feature or component that would allow a shared document to be opened and edited by multiple users in realtime? I'm thinking like Google Docs type functionality.
    Thanks,
    Phil
    Edited by: Phil on Jul 20, 2011 12:04 PM

    Phil,
    UCM itself is a document management system, so it has almost no control about what desktop application can or cannot do with a document.
    However, UCM controls check-out and check-in of a document, and there the rule says that a document can be checked-out (-in) by a single user only. The exception is so-called folio which is an XML construct able to reference multiple documents - thus, a single user can have a single document checked-out, but the folio is kind of checked out by multiple users (a good use case is a book consisting of chapters written by many authors).
    Nevertheless, even the standard mechanism, that is, a file (Excel sheet in your case) checked-out by a single user will not prevent editing by multiple users. Only the design will be lame - the file while being edited will have to be stored outside UCM and it will be checked-in by the single user when done.

  • I have a new lion server and 4 lion laptops. The laptops loose connection to the shared documents and printers from the server after roughly 1 hour. By disconnecting and re-connecting wireless the connection is regained to shares and printers

    I have a new lion server and 4 lion laptops. The laptops loose connection to the shared documents and printers from the server after roughly 1 hour. By disconnecting and re-connecting wireless the connection is regained to shares and printers. We can still surf the web when it goes down.

    Ok 1st one. The warning restriction message relates to this line in main.cf:
    smtpd_helo_restrictions = permit_sasl_authenticated  permit_mynetworks  check_helo_access hash:/etc/postfix/helo_access  reject_non_fqdn_hostname  reject_invalid_hostname  permit reject_invalid_helo_hostname
    The last reject occurs after the single word "permit" and is ignored.
    However, that's not the problem.
    I'm not exactly sure what's happening, but this might be a clue.
    It would appear that either postfix is not being able to create the socket for private/policy or it's somehow created with the wrong permissions.  You might need to ramp up the debug level to get a better idea.
    You could check if it's being created by "netstat -a | grep private/policy" in terminal.
    My guess is that it's not being created because there is no setup statement in your master.cf file, but I don't understand why postfix would be looking for it if it isn't set up.  Private/policy I think relates to grey listing.  Maybe gives you a hint.

  • How to get all folders with Name and ID in Shared Document.

    I tried this snippet and it is returning only Name not ID of the folders, Any help where am i going wrong?
            $.ajax({
      url: "/<sitename>/_api/web/GetFolderByServerRelativeUrl('Shared Document')/folders?$select=Name,ID",
      method: "GET",
      headers: { "accept": "application/json; odata=verbose" },
      success: function(data){
      console.log(JSON.stringify(data));
      error: function(data){console.log(JSON.stringify(data));}

    What kind of folder and which ID?
    Assuming you are wanting the folder objects created from the New Folder button in the ribbon, try this search by Content Type:
    https://yourdomain.sharepoint.com/_api/web/lists/getbytitle('Documents')/items?$filter=startswith(ContentTypeId,'0x0120')&$select=Title,ID
    Note that several IDs are returned; the ID (GUID) of the list item and the list's ID column (1,2,3, ....)
    Your example returned an ID property, but it was a URL.
