SharePoint 2013 People Picker to Send Email

I am having trouble finding a solid answer so I'm hoping someone here has it. Some questions get close, but something isn't matching up.
Here is the need:
User fills out a form in a SharePoint list. (the form does not ever open in InfoPath, though that is where it is designed)
User selects an Account Manager using a People Picker field. This works just fine.
User submits the form.
The submit button has rules that send the email to a user, the same Account Manager that is selected in the people picker.
I cannot use a workflow for this because the form is already designed and lots of time
has been put into all the rules and controls on it. The form must be used.
I've been able to use the secondary data connection method to query the User Information List and I did get that to work, but only in the preview mode of InfoPath 2010. I'm thinking the query doesn't ever happen while editing/submitting the form on the SharePoint
web site. If the User Information List query would work while on the SharePoint website view of the form, that would be the missing link. Is that something one could do?
What am I missing? I feel like it should be easier than this to send to an email address based on a people picker selection.

Within the InfoPath client, you should be able to define the data connection to pull from the UPA (http://blogs.technet.com/b/anneste/archive/2011/11/02/how-to-create-an-infopath-form-to-auto-populate-data-in-sharepoint-2010.aspx), then use a Submit action
to send email to the user in the PeoplePicker control.

SharePoint Foundation 2013 Workflow Doesn't Send Email

We are trying to create a workflow that will send an email if a field in a new item in a list contains a certain value.
Example: A user adds a new item to a particular list. The workflow is supposed to send an email if the Number field = 3 in that item.
We can add the item, but the workflow doesn't appear to send the email.
The workflow looks like this:
Step 1: If Current Item:Number equals 3
Email John Doe
then Stop the workflow
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try adding Current Item:Number to log history and check the values are matching properly.
Validate the data types like both are number field to get your condition through. else add an intermediate variable to help this.
Check the send email functionality with out any conditions to validate your smtp configured properly at server.

Problem with SharePoint metadata (People Picker) in Adobe Reader X.

Have a problem related metadata that is in SharePoint 2010 when I try to upload a PDF from Adobe Reader X (Online site). I have a few mandatory fields such as; Document Owner, Document Type, Date, etc..
When I save the PDF to a document library, so fetches Adobe metadata from the designated document library. I am forced to fill in my field, but when I get to document owner field the people picker don´t work. So I can not complete the transfer/upload of the
document.
Any ideas or solutions?!?!

Hi Anders,
What did you mean for “upload a PDF from Adobe Reader X (Online site)”? Whether you mean that the SharePoint 2010 site is an online site.
Per my knowledge, when you upload document into SharePoint, the metadata of the documents cannot upload to SharePoint. If you are using a third solution or party tool, I suggest you ask the third solution or party tool support for help.
In addition, I am not an Adobe Reader expert, I suggest you ask the Adobe Reader support for help.

Outlook 2013 crashed when user sending email from Adobe Writer xi pro ver 11.0.07

Customise SharePoint 2013 Mysite Welcome Text and Email

Hi ,
I am Trying to Customize SharePoint 2013 Mysite Welcome Text i.e "We are almost ready text.." that comes when we first enter mysite.
Since we are not using the skydrive feature, we don't want it on welcome text and also the email that follows.
Is there a way to customize that text and also the email part ?
I want to have my own customized text when mysite is created.

You need several things:
a view that contains the form and text for the email body (Email view)
a data connection to "Submit to Email"
a data connection to GetUserProfileByName
Re 1: create a view with the field controls and the text that you want to email. Alternatively, if the email is all static text, you can enter it in the email body in step 2.
Re 2: create a data connection to submit to email: on the Data ribbon click the
To Email button and follow the prompts. You can go back later to modify the data connection, change the fields and configure them to receive data from your form. Set the "To" field to receive its value from a field in the form (emailHelper)
Re 3: When the button is clicked, you need to get the user's email address from the UserProfile service. The steps are explained in this page http://sharepointisland.wordpress.com/tag/getuserprofilebyname/ and
consist of setting up a data connection to the User Profile Service "_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx?WSDL"
on the site, feeding the user AccountID into the query field, querying the service. After that the data connection contains the user's data and you can filter it with the "WorkEmail" parameter.
This is the value that you need to put into the "To" field of the "Submit to Email" data connection. You may want to store the field in the emailHelper field and then point the "To" field to emailHelper.
The button to send the email is on the Users view and should contain these actions
set a fields value - User Account ID to the GetUserProfileByName query field
query a data connection - the GetUserProfileByName connection
Set a field's value - the emailHelper field to the GetUserProfileByName field filtered by Name = WorkEmail
Switch to the Email View
Submit to Email data connection
Switch back to Users view

2013 professional will not send emails

I am on Microsoft exchange and Windows 8.1
Message sits in outbox and will only send when I restart office 2013.
How do I solve the problem?

Hi,
Please first check if your Outlook is offline when the email stuck in outbox. Please have a look at the status bar at the lower right-hand corner of the Outlook window and check if it shows "Disconnected".
If Outlook connection status is ok, please try to start Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue is related to problematic add-in. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
outlook /safe and press Enter. In addition, some antivirus software may integrate themselves to Outlook which could cause unexpected issue. Please try to disable the integration and test again.
If above doesn't fix the issue, we may consider to recreate the send/receive settings file (srs-file) to check the result. To do this, please follow these steps:
1. Exit Outlook.
2. Browse to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook, find the
<profilename>.srs file and rename it to <profilename>.old.
3. Restart Outlook, it will create a new srs file.
4. Now test the issue again.

Outlook 2013 Can't Receive & Send Email

I am using Oulook 2013 and connected with Office365. Recently I can'c connect the Outlook with office 365 server. The problem  is
LAN Setting Proxy Server. I can't changing the setting to
Automatic Detect Setting. After changed LAN Setting and restart, the setting back again.
My step in this trouble is :
In Iternet Expoler 11, Menu TOOLS ==> Internet Setting ==> tab CONNECTION ==> LAN Setting ==> Use Automatic Detect Setting. After Check this box, the laptop restart, but back again to Use Proxy Server Chek Box.

If the issue persists, please manually set the following through registry editing:

if you are actually using a proxy server, the format is IPaddress:port

People picker works in Central Admin but not other site collections

Hello
I am having a sudden problem with adding users to permissions for document libraries. It appears to only affect the main site collection. The people picker displays some users that are already in site collection when you start typing letters of the name
of the user. However at some point in the typing the message appears "sorry we're having trouble reaching the server." The problem does not occur in Central Admin when adding permissions. Using Fiddler there is an error when I get the message "sorry..."
"500, HTTP, SERVERNAME, /_vti_bin/client.svc/ProcessQuery." Also when I go to the library and select "shared with" I get error "Unexpected response from server. The status code of response is '500'. The status text of response
is 'System.ServiceModel.ServiceActivationException'." I believe they are connected. Any help is appreciated.

Are you using custom FBA provider for web application other than CA site which might be causing misconfiguration in web.config?

Issue with Anonymous Authentication and People Picker and reports

Hello,
We are having an issue with sharepoint 2013 where we have reports that get published to sharepoint via visual studio and we use the people picker for different list.
The overall issue is SSRS does not work if Anonymous Authentication is enabled which caused this error when trying to publish a report:
The permissions granted to user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException:

However, if we disable Anonymous Authentication, the people picker search option does not work and we get there error:

Please try to get the property of the people picker, perhaps there is a rule that implemented on your environment:
stsadm -o getproperty -propertyname peoplepicker-searchadcustomfilter -url

If yes, clear it by running:
stsadm -o setproperty -propertyname peoplepicker-searchadcustomfilter -propertyvalue " " -url

Sharepoint 2013 designer workflow mail not sending

I am doing sharepoint 2013 workflow for mail sending using designer.
I am sending mail when new item created in List.
Here status is completed, but mail not sending the following error comes
"The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the e-mail has a valid recipient".
But i have valid email ID.
If i am sending mail through C# (Visual Webpart), mail sending properly.

Sharepoint 2013 email address issue

I receive the following error when I create Alert for a ask on sharepoint 2013. While there is email attached to the profile on Active Directory.
"You do not have an e-mail address.
Alert has been created successfully but you will not receive notifications until valid e-mail or mobile address has been provided in your profile."

According to your post, my understanding is that you got an issue when using alert in SharePoint.
The is caused by the email address it is not updated to the user profile.
To fix the issue, please sync up the user profile. The solution can be found from：

Make sure the App pool accounts having the right permission.
What’s more, you can also check the ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log is at
