SharePoint Online : how to disable properties promotion / demotion?

Hi,
I working on a solution hosted in SharePoint Online. I need to disable the promotion / demotion feature.
I know it's possible to do it using powershell in an on premise installation, like :
$web = Get-SPWeb http://xxxx/sites/xxx
$web.ParserEnabled = $false
$web.Update()
But I'm not sure how to proceed with SPO.
Any idea welcome. thanks.

ParserEnabled isn't decorated with ClientCallable (in my tenant which has first features turned on), so you're likely out of luck.

Using Yammer for page commenting in SharePoint Online, how to prevent user from doing it wrong?

I am trying to use Yammer for a per-page comment platform in a SharePoint Online environment. This seems to require placing a Yammer embed in each page
and configuring the embed to use Open-Graph. (see further below for the embed code details I'm using)
When a user begins typing their comment, a gray box also appears (not sure the technical name for it) giving the user the option to click "x" to close it. In the screenshot a little below,
I've put a green-box around it.
If the user clicks the x to close that little piece, they can still submit a comment, but it doesn't get added to the page. There's no feedback that indicates this is what happens.
It is distracting and adds unnecessary complexity to what should be a simple task of appending a comment to this page's conversation. In fact, everything I put a red box around in the screen shot
would ideally be hidden from the user.
Can we hide this complexity (everything in red box) from the commenter completely?
If not, how can we prevent the commenter from clicking the "x"
and thusly quietly breaking their feedback?

This is not an APEX issue, but a general browsers one. This is an old problem, without any good solution. Usually, if this is a critical issue (like in payment pages etc.) the course of action is indeed to prevent the page from being cached by the browser, and mark it as expired.

As a work around, you can edit the Drag and Drop js as to remove the drag and drop functionality, edit the document library page (default
page) place the content editor web part on top of the library include the modified Drag and Drop js file in the content editor web part, Please save the Drag and Drop js file to other location (probably Site Assets library etc).

Office 365 SharePoint online: How to create multi level top Navigation

I having a requirement that we have a site structure which contains departmental sites and each site have multiple subsites.
eg:
Site 1:
sub site 1
Sub site 2
Site 2:
sub site 1
sub site 1 (last node)
sub site 2 (last node)
Sub site 2
Site 3
and so on.
I have to show site structure in top navigation, can you guide me how can we achieve this using SharePoint Design Manager or if their is any other way then please tell me.

In snippet gallery, select top navigation from Ribbon, it will show snippet and customization details.
In Customization - Top Navigation (ASP.NET) section, expand
Important node and change value of StaticDisplayLevels
to 2. After that expand Behavior node and change value of
MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels to 2.

SharePoint 2010 How to Disable alerts on one server

We have a farm with about 8 web front ends and 6 Web application servers. The network is run by a different team, when they did an update to the domain somehow one of my web application servers became blocked from accessing the email server. So alerts
on that server no longer work. Immediate alerts are constantly hanging.
I was wondering if there is a command to disable or remove immediate alerts from processing on that one server until things get corrected by the network team.
When I look in central admin and look at the services on the server, I don't see one specifically for immediate alerts.

Ok, I think I have come up with a temporary solution for this. So hopefully this helps others.
I set the preferred server in every content database to any other server except the one that can't communicate with the SMTP server.
To do this:
Open Central Administration
Under Application Management, under the databases section, click on the Manage content databases link
For each database select it.
At the bottom of the manage content database setting page select a preferred sever.

Customization approach as per best practice for SharePoint Online

Hi All,
I am working for a customer for customization on SharePoint Online. I need to create following customization.
For each department one site collection is required to be created. There will be 15 site collections.
Each site collection will have couple of team sites.
Each team will have couple of document libraries and customer list.
Custom lists and document libraries will have custom views.
MaterPage and Layout will be customized to apply the UI Branding.
Customer wants that configuration management should be as per the Microsoft best practice. I am wondering what the approach I should use is.
Should I create visual studio solution, but since there are 15 different site collections are required to be created I believe sandboxed solution will not be feasible sine sandboxed solution are scoped with site collection.
I also believe if I do create visual studio solution that development efforts will be extensive.
I am not sure whether it is feasible, use the SharePoint Designer to apply this customization but I am confused in this case. If it is possible then how I will promote the customization to production.
I am also confused in case SharePoint online how I will keep production and development environment separate? What is the best practice around it?

You can create Custom Master page using SharePoint Designer. And for first four points from creating Sitecollection to creating views you can create a hierarchy of objects in site using csv file and then create Powershell script to create sitecollection,
team site, list/libraries and view by reading csv files.

SharePoint does not remove users from SharePoint permissions just because they were deleted/disabled in AD. This is to maintain referential integrity. In fact, when you delete a user from SharePoint, that user remains in the SharePoint content database,
just marked as deleted.
They do not have access to SharePoint given their account is deleted/disabled. But as far as automatically managing this, I'm not aware of a tool. On-prem there is Metalogix ControlPoint which does a great job of this, I haven't explored the O365 options.

when any user sends a message using contact us page in SharePoint online.
1. We are inserting item in Contact Us List . - This is working fine
for anonymous users also. We have used Office365 anonymous codeplex wsp and it is working fine. Anonymous user is able to insert new record in the Contact Us List.
2. Once, new record is inserted in Contact Us list, we want to fire email notifying thanks to the user on his email id as well as to our company x person for notification of new inquiry.
We tried using Workflow having impersonation step for anonymous user but it is not working for Anonymous users. Workflow is able to sent the email if someone logged into system but not working for Anonymous user although workflow is getting started
but not able to send email although used Imperonsation step.
We are stuck into implementing second step.

How to delete the exceed threshold limit list in Sharepoint Online

i am trying to delete the list data using client context in console application. But I got this error message "The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator."

Unfortunately there is no option to override the list threshold in Office 365/SharePoint Online. One option is to create the folders and move the items to that folders, then try deleting the items.

Per my knowledge,
there is no out of the box way to accomplish this with SharePoint.
This is a forum which is supported for SharePoint On-Premise.
