Site loads really slow in File Window

Dreamweaver 8 on Mac OSX4.11 stopped loading my site instantaneously in the File Window.
All other sites load fine, but 2 sites load extremely slow; both are Wordpress sites with lots of files.
I deleted 1 of the 2 sites and recreated it, but it still loads slow.
When I try to switch to it in the File Viewer, I get the spinning color disc for quite a while
What can I do to get sites to load instantaneously again?

Sites that load fine -
http://DStall.com
http://LiturgicalDesign.biz
Site that takes extremely long time to load -
http://LifeGivingSpring.info
All sites use same hosting provider, but are hosted on 1 account,
by way of folders (similar to subdomains, but they are standalone sites with their own domains)
But I'm talking about the sites loading in the File Viewer on my computer,
and not the remote server connections for the sites.

  • Images load really slow after using Reduce File Size...

    After using the "Reduce File Size..." feature in Acrobat 9 on Windows Vista, some of the images load really slow as I page through the document. Is there some kind of compression setting that I should look for to prevent the images from be affected by this?
    For some of my documents it will take 30 to 60 seconds to load an image. Sometimes I can't do anything with the document until the graphic loads entirely.

    Can you post an example of a file that has this issue? Personally, I recommend using the PDF optimizer, it gives better control of the final pdf file.

  • Why is it YouTube loads really slow sometimes even when I'm connected to wifi ?

    Why is it YouTube loads really slow sometimes even when I'm connected to wifi ?

    Hard to say. The speed of your Internet connection. Congestion on YouTube's servers, problems at any point in between you and them... When you are connected to WiFi, you will get a substantially higher resolution version of some videos than you do on 3G.
    Are you using the youtube app or are you just accessing it via a web browser.

  • ALL HTTPS SITES LOAD EXTREMELY SLOW - WHY?

    I am running windows xp + firefox 17 - any https site loads very slowly , while in other browsers no problem at all.

    If you reset Firefox or otherwise cleared the cache/preferences, the SPDY setting may have been saved/stored. You can try to '''Clear Now''' the '''Cache''' and '''Site Preferences''' with '''Time range to clear''' set to '''Everything''' via '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Clear%20Recent%20History Clear Recent History] and check each time after enabling and disabling.

  • Firefox menus (right click, bookmark, etc) load REALLY slow

    System Info:
    Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit.
    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.53 GHZ
    6 gig memory
    Intel SSD 320 series
    Progressively for the past few years, FireFox has gotten slower and slower for me. Not actually the browsing, but the menus. It now takes ~3 seconds to load up the right click menu, or the "FireFox" menu at the top left, or book marks.
    History, Cache, Cookies have all been deleted. All extensions and plugins disabled. If I disable all start up home pages.
    It still does responds the same
    When I reinstalled Windows ~2 months ago when I got the SSD drive (it was a clean install) the behavior is there immediately upon installing.
    This is driving me more and more crazy and I am about ready to give up on FireFox!
    Anybody know what is going on and how to fix it?

    Try to disable hardware acceleration.
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers
    Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
    There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
    If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • My iTunes downloads are really slow on both Windows and iPhone 5

    I've been experiencing slow download speed on both Windows and my iPhone 5.
    I've done a few things like reset my phone network settings, enabled iTunes through my Windows firewall, changed the DNS but none has actually worked out! I really need your help because I'm starting to get really ****** off with how Apple renders its services. On a side note, I've unlimited quota so the speed won't be throttled down. Thank you.

    Unlimited quota does not mean unlimited speed.
    What is the actual download speed from your ISP?  Test it using a site like http://www.speedtest.net

  • Help My Site Is REALLY SLOW!

    I recently changed my site to use cascading style sheets, and it is crawling. Any ideas on what to try? Is there anything that I'm doing really wrong here? Thanks in advance for your help.
    Here is how my basic page is laid out:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="estyles" type="text/css">
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <!-- next do some includes to load top and left nav -->
    <%@ include file = "topnav.html">
    <%@ include file = "leftnav.html">
    <!-- various java processing -->
    <!-- then include bottom of page -->
    <%@ include file = "bottom.html">
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    Thanks,
    Tyson

    I believe it is a long JSP execution time because I go to the page, there seems to be some processing going on, then the site catches and everything displays quickly. My site is www.simdynasty.com, you can see the problem during normal US business hours.
    I have created two versions of some of the pages, some that use CSS, and some that don't. There doesn't seem to be a difference in performance so I've eliminated that. And my index.jsp page doesn't have any database queries, so that eliminates the database. And the JSP pages go quickly when there isn't much traffic.
    So I've narrowed it down to my ISP/Server is overburdened, or Resin (my JSP server) is overburdened. Does anyone know the best way to determine where the bottleneck might be?
    Thanks

    Please click My Settings on the right side of this window and update your profile.
    Which internet provider is this? Are you using Safari/Firefox ??? More details please.

  • WRT350n Firmware Update 1.03.7 - Web page load really slow after update

    Well I updated my WRT350N with the new firmware, but now web pages load very slowly, and streaming video is even slower. Before the update it was blazing fast. I run a mixed network of wireless N and G. Both Wireless N connections connect at 200 or higher Mbps now, which is a great improvement.
    Anybody got any ideas why web pages and steaming video run so slow now.
    Also downloading files never goes above 30 kb/sec now.
    I use comcast cable and downloads were so fast before.
    Thanks in advance.

    check the download speed and the streaming video when the computer is directly connected to the modem

  • Wordpress site loading too slow

    Hi,
    We're having trouble getting our site to load quickly. We’re still in the design process, but have been experiencing slow loads from the start. Our site is http://boltontechnology.com/newsite/
    We've installed the W3 Total Cache plugin and configured it as directed. This did speed up cached pages but initial loads are still way too long.
    In speaking to our themes support team, the load issue seems to be coming from our hosting environment.
    Also, through further investigation, it’s been suggested to ask if Minify will help. Can it be used on our site?
    Finally, we’re pretty new to this and would benefit greatly if we could have someone from Azure walk us through this process. Is that possible?
    Thank you

    Hello,
    It seems to be more related with web application issue, please post it to:

  • Lightbox loading really slow on website

    Does anyone else have this issue? I created a few lightbox widgets on one page, thumbnails are 32kb, the larger image that pops up is around 200kb and are all compressed for the web. Seems like those are small enough files, but the page takes up to 10-15 seconds to load and I've tried it on multiple computers with different speeds of internet and different browsers. This is my first attempt with this software and designing a website so any help would be greatly appreciated:
    http://newleafdesigncenter.com/gallery.html

    Looking at the page a bit closer, it appears the images aren't optimized. Rather they appear to be roughly the size they would be if saved at 100 quality JPEG out of Photoshop. Using 100 quality defeats the purpose of using JPEG. For most photographic images a quality setting of 50 will give acceptable results. For many images you can go lower with no clearly visible impact. A quality setting of 50 would likely cut the image file sizes by a factor of 5.
    Note that Muse will optimize images, but only if the images are resized or cropped in Muse (or have specific effects applied that are baked into a new image at output time). If you sized the images outside of Muse then imported them, the output files are your input files, since Muse assumes that if you sized them you also optimized them.
    If you use Save for Web on your images in Photoshop and choose JPEG with a Quality of 50 or less, I expect it will cut your page load time by 75%, or perhaps more (though I am still curious how BC server performance compares to your hosting provider for the same content).

  • IWeb sites load extremely slow from various computers

    I am sure this must be the case for everyone, but if I click on an iWeb link vs. a homepage link the difference in loading times in amazing. My old homepages load in seconds, iWeb in minutes.
    This is the case if I go to the iWeb page on my mac, my pC at home, a PC at work, whatever.
    Have others noticed this?

    Hi NH Sullivan,
    I too have also noticed less than satisfactory loading times, even for simple iWeb sites. (Again, regardless of platform, browser etc.) It seems to take a particularly long time to load the navigation sections and photo galleries.
    I have not looked into a solution to this, but I have looked at the source code for iWeb generated sites and to me (Although I'm not an expert) there is a lot of unnecessary code.

  • Apple TV down load really slow

    I used to be able to down load movies for rent and watch them 2-3 mins later - now its 8-24 hrs. Even previews have slowed down. I have contacted apple support but they are acting like there is nothing wrong. There are posts all over the web about this - anyone know anything about why they slowed the service down?

    I'm having the same problem over a 802.11n wi-fi connection via my Time Capsule, and I have 2 questions: are the movies and trailers HD and when did this start happening to you? My slow download problems began not too long ago, but before the recent software update. Although, download times for rented movies took around 2 hours before I could start to watch them. Are the movies you're talking about purchased or rented?

  • Acrobat X Pro: Really slow opening files

    There's a post with this name in a read-only section. I haven't posted here for years, but I'm having this problem. I bought Nitro PDF as my workaround. It's good software, but, goshdarnit, I'd really like my Acrobat Pro to work also. There's no fix posted over there, so I'm wondering if there is a fix anywhere? Thanks.

    ...I've uninstalled the trial and, following this, my system is working perfectly again.  I'm sorry but ever since version 10 of the software was released, my system hasn't been able to use Acrobat Pro without having a nervous breakdown.  It's causing trouble even when I'm not using it!  I suspect this is something to do with the software that checks whether it's a trial version or legitimate copy; unfortunately, it's active all the time (much like Vista's useless build of UAC), and so the entire system grinds to a halt.
    I've commented about this issue before in previous releases, but either your team at Adobe doesn't know why it affects certain computers but not others, or you do, and simply ignore the software problem.  It's a shame, but I will just have to do everything through a service via your website from now on.
