Site manager For network logons
Hello everyone,
My name is John, and i am an ICT Technician for my school. We
have been using dreamweaver for a few years now, and have come
accross a slight problem with the "site manager" tool. Basically,
we have 2000 Network users who we are looking to use this tool. The
user can set up the site with no problem, but the information is
lost when they log off the network. So, when they log on they will
have to set it up again.... What can be done to fix this problem?
Any ideas will be gladly recived :)

question- is this machine running some kind of "rollback"
software whose job
is to wipe out any changes to a person's profile or
non-approved registry
entries? This has come up before in questions about school
lab computers not
saving site information. At shutdown or at midnight, the
entire computer is
restored to a predefined state automatically
If there is such software on the machine- see if there is a
way in it's
settings/preferences to have it allow dreamweaver site
entries to the
registry and not wipe them.
otherwise- a work-around is to have the students use the
Export button to
create an .ste site definition backup file. Put that in a
place that's not
to be wiped. Then next work session, dw
menu-->site-->Manage Site-->Import
that .ste file and the site def is restored.

ITunes U Site Manager log in error
Hello,
Some contributors to Public iTunes U courses/collections in our institution cannot sign in to the iTunes U Site Manager for the last couple of days:

They get this message: "We're sorry, iTunes Site Manager encountered an error"
We all use iMac or Macbook Pros.
As an iTunes U admin, however, I can log in without any problems.
Has anyone else encountered this problem. Does anyone know what is going on here?
I plan to send iTunes U Support an email about this issue as well.

Updating iTunes may not be the reason at all. It could very well be the Support Team has fixed the problem, which i think is the case.
Also, I learned i should report EACH problem to iTunes U Support Team using its Report Form:

I used the Report Form a couple of months ago to report a different problem. One tech support person responsded and I have been emailing to that individual via email about a few more issues since then. This, however, is NOT a good practice. Reporting each problem using the report form will help the iTunes Support Team to prioritize the work based on urgency.
Anyway, I am releaved it is working now. Thank you. And thanks to the iTunes U Support Team and iTunes U Editors.

How retieve ste data records(I did not export) in Site manager
corrupted my vista (files exist not lost) how retieve ste data records(I did not export) in Site manager for use in a new installation... was dw cs4 now dw cs6...
Unless you previously exported all your site definition setting and saved them to a safe place (i.e. an external drive, local or remote site folder), you must manually recreate them in CS6 via Site > Manage Sites > New...

I only see Web Forms & Email in Site Manager
Why do I only see Web Forms & Email settings in the Site Manager for a WebMarketing Site? Where did everything else go? I'm trying to upload a pdf file and that function is gone in BC.

If you have published the site via Muse, Please try this
In Admin Panel, on your Right Hand side top, Mouse over on your name and Go to "My Details". You will see a check box "Enable online content editing". Check this box, Click save and logout. Login again, and goto site manager, you will see some more options like File manager

Dreamweaver CS3 Site Manager Problem
I am using Dreamweaver CS3 and when I define my sites in the
Site Manager, for some reason now when I definte the Host
Directory, which looks like this:
"//caflsd/share/DEPTS/BIOSCI/BSWeb/ " (note the two "/" at the
beginning) once I hit the done button and try to connect, I get an
FTP error, and when I go back in to the Site Manager, I will see
that one of the slashes in front of the Host Directory Address is
removed, so it looks like this "/caflsd/share/DEPTS/BIOSCI/BSWeb/"
which misses the first slash. When I put it in manually while in
the Site Manager and test the connection while in the Site Manager,
it works fine...however, when I hit OK and Done, it always cuts out
the extra "/" and then the site will not connect outside of the
Site Manager. How can I get it to stop this?i posted a reply. sorry new to this forum. the only message I receive is that there is no repsonse from the server. Initially I can connect fine and downloand all remote files. It is only when I go to upload that I get disconnected. I can upload fine with an older version of DW. I do not know if I can upload to other sites.
I called my server and was told everything on their end was fine and they tested it and was able to upload. So I am thinking it must be DW CS3 -
License Manager for Enterprise Networks
Is there a still a License Manager available for enterprise customers to run on their own networks?
All links I've found on the Adobe site so far are 7 years out of date, keep making more sales pitches, or take me to a web-based serivce. We already bought our licenses and web-based access is not an option because we conduct much of our business on isolated networks with no access to the internet.
We have nearly 500 users with a mix of Reader and other products licensed for individal users. Our network and software administrators are constantly installing and uninstalling products one at a time to keep up with all personnel and job changes. Anything that makes it easier for us to add and reassign product licenses would be a big help.I don't think moving this to the Creative Suite forum will be helpful because Creative Suite is not the sole or primary project we need to manage.
Most of the product licenses we need to manage are for a mix of Acrobat Professional, Acrobat Standard, and Adobe Reader. We only have about a dozen Creative Suite users. A license manager for all these products would be ideal. A license manager for Acrobat and Reader is what we really need most. -
How do I create a non-apple ID account for a new adminstrator for a Podcast Site Manager
http://myinfo.apple.com is inoperable. I need to create a new account for an Administrator for our Podcast Site Manager account. We have one that no one can access. Can someone assist or point me in the direction of someone at APPLE that can? I called their helpdesk and THEY couldn't even help.
Concerned...I'm afraid I don't know anything about this: it doesn't appear to be relevant to ordinary podcasts. Is this an iTunes-U matter? - perhaps that forum would help.

please modify any thing in process "ExpenseReporting" for example any transition or any activity to place some where else or any other modification and then save that process. Then clean the project and build and deploy it.
if this also not solve the problem then export that project to and import it again in your workspace (Create new workspace or change the project name in same workspace ) and then again clean, build and deploy the application then test in work space.

Need Suggestions For Network Manager/WICD
Hello again everyone. I seem to be full of issues today. Anyway, I'm a KDE guy and I've been using WICD to manage my network connections since around the time that KDE 4.x premiered, because as far as I know KDE does not have a viable network manager.
WICD works great, it connects before I even finish logging in, it connects to my networks without me having to interact at all, until now. Now, it's just acting strange, and I didn't change anything except whatever is changed during the normal updating of packages.
It started off not connecting to wired connections at all and only wireless at home. If I plugged in a network cable, it would try and try and try and then tell me that it couldn't get an IP address. Sometimes after restarting it would work but not every time. After a few more days, it started to connect to wireless connections only 50% of the time. A reboot would usually clear it up.
Now, as of today, it won't connect to anything. I took it to work as I usually do so I can use it in the lunch room (where there are three wireless AP's in range) and it wouldn't connect at all, and I tried rebooting five times. One of my coworkers had no problem connecting to the same wireless AP on her laptop that I could not connect to.
I've never known WICD to be problematic like this. I didn't change anything and I don't think it's been updated recently.
If there is a network manager for KDE that works more reliably, I'm open to suggestions. I prefer WICD because it (used to) worked so well. At the very least, I prefer having some sort of wireless manager. The one that shipped with Kubuntu in 9.04 is completely terrible so whatever that is I don't know if I want that unless it got drastically improved.mcsaba77 wrote:

I use the default nm-applet, it works well, but I agree, it's not nearly as neat as wicd, and the icon is an eyesore Maybe a kernel/wicd update in the future will solve these issues, but as of now, too many people (on various hardware) seem to have issues with wicd + kernel 2.32.x.

Hi,
I am a high school librarian. We have Windows SteadyState
installed in our computers to ensure the software and settings
remain unchanged after they are used. What Windows SteadyState does
is it keeps a master copy of the profile of the public user account
in "c:\Documents and Settngs", and every time a user logon with
that account , a copy of the profile is made from that master.
After the user logout, that profile is deleted. It happens that
Dreamweaver also keeps its application data such as website
management data in that profile. Can I specify to Dreamweaver an
alternative location to store those data instead of the default
"C:\Documents and Settings\"?
Please help. Thank you.will it work to have each user Export their site definition
using dw
menu->site->Manage Site->Export, and then save that
.ste file in their
website's Local Site Folder, or some other location not
erased?
Then before starting next work session, if they double-click
the .ste file,
dw will import and re-define that site.

We are new to iTunes U and all of our teaching staff are generating courses for our school.
We have successfully published one course publicly.
One of our teachers submitted a course on 24 January. I, as site manager/amdinistrator have not yet received an email requesting that the course be published. We've double checked everything and there are no errors that we can find at our end.
Does anyone have any clues on how we can rectify this? The submit course option has now disappeared so she cannot resubmit.

First -- these forums are not a formal channel for support from RIM. Rather, they are user-to-user support forums where users help other users. As such, it is unlikely that RIM will see and respond to your inquiry.
What I suggest is that you have your affected users exercise their formal support channel -- which is available via their carrier. The carriers have the ability to escalate cases into RIM for resolution.

Itunes u support for public site manager
I have been the iTunes U admin for my college for years - since iTunes U first started. I cannot log into the public site manager - it refuses to acknowledge my credentials, even though I can log into my institutions iTunesU site directly through iTunes. Others have reported the same problem with no solution. Who can I call to get this fixed?
