SM Diagnostics: Restart Solution reload landscape?

I have updated a system landscape in solution manager - transaction SMSY -> system groups.
I want to be able to pull/transfer that update into solution manager diagnostics so that I can then deploy wily agent to it.
In solution manager diagnosts (url /smd) it now says
"Solution X is now outdated. restart the solution setup and reload the landscape"
The question is how is this done??
I'm on solution manager SP13 and how do you reload the landscape and restart the solution.  Its not obvious in either smd or the backend solution manager smsy??

I suggest you to have a look to SAP Notes

then in the field Search Term, put: outdated
in the field Application Area, put: SV-SMG-DIA
click on search, and then....

    the technical prerequisites for Business Process Monitoring are described in SAP note 784752. Otherwise you find plenty of information in the Media Library under https://service.sap.com/bpm
    If you need functional consultants or not is somewhat depending on the scope you want to use for BPMon. You will see that BPMon provides a broad scope of out-of-the-box functionality which can be application related but can also be only used by technical guys, e.g. IDOC, qRFC, tRFC, File or background job monitoring.
    So there is no general answer to it. If you want to do full-blown BPMon then you will also need functional expertise.

  • Solar01/solar02 in solution manager: landscape structure definition- urgent

    Hi Forum Members,
    I need to understand whether this is possible and if it is then how do i do it; any step by step manual from SAP is available. We have solman 7.1 and project with type 'implementation' created. When i go to solar01/02 i can maintain business scenario for ERP with relevant business processes however our landscape is like ERP, CRM, Enterprise Portal , DMS (Document Management System), TREX. I wish to adjust solar 01 business process structure in a way that it reflects the entire landscape. So, regarding i have few questions as below. Please let me know your views ASAP as i am runnig very short of time to asetup
    1. Is it possible to adust all these applications in the single business process structure e.g. one implementation project has business scenarios to ERP, CRM, EP and so on.
    Business process structure we get is general with nodes after project creation in project administrtion is :
    A.Organizational unit
    B. Master Data
    C. Business scenarios.
    2. If not then do i have to create individual projects for each aplication like one for ERP and Other for CRM and so on.
    For reference please see the below prototype i am expecting to achive by doing this (solar01) :

    Thank you for the quick reponse and feel really nice to see you on this queries posted by me. I saw plenty of your threads earlier clarifying so many things on SCN.
    I wish to admit that i am new to solution manager. So from the understanding prospective would you confirm that in core you are saying that technically it cant be realized (individual business scenarios for each applicaton type) as you have explained that one scenario runs on different systems. I mean to say SAP doesnt support this that is what you wish to say? This confirmtaion is needed to rule out the option of adjusting business process structure as i am expecting to be.
    Also, I have to select business scenario in 'business scenario' and adjust it to run on different systems in under GRAPHIC tab in solar01 provided logical components are mentioned appropriately. I am refering to below link for designing the business process structure

  • Managed System Setup / Configure Diagnostics for Solution Manager itself

    Hello,
    I'm trying to run the "Managed System Setup" for the Solution Manager itself and
    I got a problem in the step 4 (Diagnostics Configuration / Configure Diagnostics):
    In the new opened window is only the ABAP stack displayed and the Java stack
    is missing.
    Does somebody know how to make the java stack visible?
    From my point of view seems the configuration of the SMSY ok. The java stack is also
    as "relevant" set.
    The Solution Manger 7.0 EHP1 is on SP25.

    I dont think its happening just because of your CR Content.
    Still If you want to update it,then go to Administration Tab in SLD->>Import the latest CR Content from there.
    As the latest CR Content is :SAP CR Content Version (sld/active):     SAP_CR 7.6 (produced 11/17/2011)
    And Jorn if you are stucked in the Diagnostic Agent registration then Go to Agent Candidate Administration->>In connection
    Parameters Tab go to->>Custom SLD Connection Parameters->>Apply->>Mark the Diagnostic Agent you want to
    connect->>Attach->>Give the password of the SMD_ADMIN->>Apply->>This way you will connect to the available Diagnostic
    Agent.Hope this will help your problem.

  • Solution Manager Landscape Components

    Hi,
       I am in the process of configuring Maintenance Optimizer.
       I have SolutIon Manager Development(SMD) and Solution Manager Production(SMP).
       I have some confusion
       When I go to TC SYSY in SMD the Landscape Components are ECC DEV,SM4 DEV and Sand Box.
       The same when I see in Production I can see only EPORTAL7.
        Also in SMD I have the option of adding ECC QAS and ECC PROD which I do not get in SMP.
        I just want to know where do I configure Maintenance Optimizer in SMD or SMP.
    Also do I need to add ECC QAS and ECC PROD in SMD.
    And do I need to check any connectivity between ECC and Solution Manager.
    Or at last is there any configuration issue if you feel.

    You get the latest version of Solution Manger Config guide and start checking your config step by step. I feel Landscape components are not added properly in SMD also check the respective RFCs ( Which is mentioned in Config Guide)

  • Custom Xpath testing : avoid server restart (domain reload) ?

    We are planning to have a centralized BPEL server for several developers. But apparently, when a developer is working on a custom XPath / XQuery functions, we must retart the server in order to test them ... so the other developers cannot work anymore !
    Is there any way to avoid the server restart, and only reload a single domain ?

    Absolutely, this is what we will do.
    However, we still have an organization problem due to Xquery/Xpath functions, because of the following limitations:
    - Xpath functions are per domain as Xquery functions are per server. Can't Xquery functions be per domain ?
    - There is no versioning of Xpath/Xquery functions. This is quite annoying especially since Oracle BPEL PM can handle versioning of BPEL Processes.
    - Same kind of problem with Jdeveloper : when starting Jdev it would be nice to be able to choose what repository of Xquery functions to use.
    - Xpath/Xquery functions need to be deployed manually (XML cut/paste + copy of *.class/*.JAR), there is no standard way to identify a Xpath/Xquery function in a Jdeveloper project so that we can deploy them easily.
    We have imagined work-arounds, but they are not fully satisfying:
    - Handle Xpath/Xquery versioning in the Java code, by having one parameter as the version number => still a problem for code maintenance, and problem because we need more or less to hard code the version number in our BPEL processes.
    - Run multiple instances of BPEL PM on the same application server, so that we can isolate Xquery/Xpath function per version => high server load, expensive.
    - Write a Jdeveloper launcher to choose the Xquery functions to use.
    - Write a custom deployment tool for Xquery/Xpath => could be quite painful.

  • Annoying app and window restart solutions?

    Is there a work around or third party software that defeats one of the most annoying things Apple has ever done to an operating system - incorporate a new feature that automatically relaunches apps after shut down with no absolute way to disable it. Sure, I can check of the box every in the shutdown window every single time I shut off the computer, but its a pain. As for deselecting the restore windows box in the General preference pane, it's not a permanent solution either. I can see the advantage of having apps restarting after a crash, I do not see the advantage of not being able to easily disable this feature. Upgrades are supposed to increase and enhance, not hamper and aggravate.

  • Printer has gone offline for no reason! I have downloaded HP diagnostics, restarted computer, etc.

    Help!  My Officejet 6480 goes offline whenever it gets in the mood.  It's a wireless hookup.  Everything looks fine--wireless light is on, printer is on, etc.  I've downloaded the HP Diagnostics which seems to think everything is fine, judgin by all the green checks.  This has been a  problem ever since I switched to Windows 7.
    Please help!

    I have to reboot my router for the problem to be resolved. I have assigned a static IP in the router for the printer as some suggested.  But as soon as the printer goes into sleep mode I seem to lose connectivity between the router and printer. The router reboot sloves my problem, but it's a pain. The HP diagnostics does nothing for me except to suggest I have to run setup which is crazy in my opinion.

    when all else fails, take it to the apple store. They are very helpful and are fast! My iphone 4 is now acting up. It said it needed to restore to connect, so I restored it. Now it is saying that there is no sim card, ugh. I will be making my way to the apple store very shortly.....

  • Restarting or Reloading Webdynpro ABAP(FPM) application in Portal

    Hi All,
    I have created a ABAP webdynpro application in FPM framework which is run in the portal. The application has got a roadmap that contains 7 steps. In the last step there is a button 'save and exit'. When the user reaches the last step and presses the 'save and exit' button, one popup will appear with a 'close' button. When the user pressed that 'close' button, the application should restart i.e., the user should be taken to the first step. I tried using the method 'NAVIAGATE_ABSOLUTE' where I hardcoded the PCD path which takes the user to the first step but it is not helpful ( All Relative navigation links and Detailed navigation links were missing in portal ) in my case as it is not actually restarting the application. Could anyone help me out in getting the application restarted in the portal on click of a button.
    Note: We tried with Exit-Plug as well, which is not applicable ( helpful) for portal integration.

    Well we have few webdynpro applications with multiple views, by design, on the last step after save, we disable all other button and display a new button called 'RESTART' with only available choice. On click of this button
    1. We initialize all the data of component.
    2. Clear stored variable parameters & internal table used by assistance class
    3. if everything was fine fire navigation to the FirstDefaultView of the webdynpro application.
    Thus its almost restart of the application.
    So design wise have a method  INIT_COMP  in the component controller of webdynpro component. and then at the last step when call to RESTART is made reinitialize all the data of your webdynpro component.
    method onactionrestart.
    wd_assist->reinit_my_obj_tables( ).
    wd_this->fire_to_v_Start_plg(  ).

  • Macbook Air constantly requests restart - solutions?

    I've had my macbook air for about eight months and so far it's given me the gray "please restart your computer" message about fifty times. There's never any correlation between what I'm doing at the moment the message pops up, so it seems as though I'm not causing it personally. Does anyone know the most likely problem? Thanks a lot!

    It sounds like a kernel panic, thus the problem that occurs when the panic message appears would be written into the panic.log (viewable within the Console). Without knowing what the log file says it's near impossible to speculate on the issue.

  • Changing Solution manager landscape and having a Virtual production system

    We have a 2 line landscape like this
    Line1: DEV1 - QAS1 - PROD1
    Line2: DEV2 - QAS2 - VirtualPROD.  
    During our golive pahse the QAS1 in Line1 will be replaced by the QAS2 in Line2 and Lin 2 will be on hold for a while.
    My questions,
    1) does any one have any experience in topic?, on how to change the system landscape without closing any tasklist/maintenance cycle or project.
    2) We have some problems with logging on to QAS system from the change request when having a virtual production system, it works fine from the tasklist.
    Unfortunalty we can't see anything in the log.
    3)When having multiple QAS systems in one Line , how can the import the change to the second QAS system be handled when using urgent correction since only one QAS is in the task list the one which feeds the production system. (Urgent correction always uses the shortest path to production)
    Comments, references and all else is valuable.

    Apperently does the system check for a connection to the production system and since it's virtual there is no rfc , so would it be possible to create an rfc to a virtual system?

    Can anyone please point me the document that talks
    about Solutiom Manager landscape strategy. Is it recommend to
    have Sandbox, Dev/QA/Prod  instance of Solutiom Manager or we just need

    I will add my two cents...
    A three SM landscape strategy works pretty good:
    #1 - Sandbox Solman - no satellite system connectivity; open access; used for the purposes of testing patches and exploring solman functionality - mostly for basis' purposes.
    #2 - 'Development' Solman - only satellite systems that are NOT on the path to production would be connected here - such as a sandbox.  This solman system would be used for configuration of solman itself [example, your solman team would configure solman functionality here].  It is also a good practice environment for PM's because it would have a small landscape attached to it [your sandboxes, remember]?  Migrations start here for solman functionality...
    #3 - 'Production' Solman - ALL path to production satellite systems connected here, except your sandboxes [which were connected to #2 remember?].  This system also serves as a target system for migrations that came from #2 [for solman functionality itself],  This is the main solman box that most users will access for project management, blueprinting, config, charm, and so forth.
    This type of landscape satisfies ITIL requirements as changes made to solman itself are migrated from #2 to #3; changes are not made directly in the prod box.
