Smartform form painter not same size as actual output

Hi,
I have set up a z page format as 100x150 and assigned this to a smartform.
The form painter in smartforms dislays 100x150, according to the internal ruler .
But, when I print to my label printer (also set up as 100x150) not all info appears.
Testing has showed that the form painter seems to 33% bigger than actual. So, if I keep everything inside the dimensions 66x100, it prints out perfectly.
Any ideas why the form painter is bigger than the actual size?
thanks.

Hi
Check the Paper format selected on the Printer, and the Paper Size of the Paper format.
You can get this information from Basis Team. If it is a PC printer, you can check yourself by going to Properties-->Paper Tab of the Printer

  • Scanned form not same size as original

    I am trying to scan a form into pdf and make it a fill-in form, then print only the form field info onto an original of the form. When I do so, the fields are out of alignment because the scanned form doesn't seem to be the same size.
    Is there anyway to make the scanned form the same size as the original when I scan it.
    Many Thanks to all that reply......

    Depends on what software you are using to scan and produce the form fields. It's not Reader.

  • Checkboxes border thickness not same

    Checkboxes on a form are the same size and same style yet some borders appear thicker on some check boxes. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I have tried removing the check mark from "Enhance thin lines" under preferences and it makes no difference.

    These are screen captures. I want them to look like the first image. The border is too thick in the second image. I have tried to recreate them and still the same result. I have also tried to select all of them and set as same width and height, but still no luck.

  • First Time Machine backup not the same size as my computers HD

    I just completed my first Time Machine backup of my computer's hard drive. I have a 160 GB hard drive (actual capacity = 148.73 GB) with 145.43 GB used. I expected my backup to be the exact same size or darn near close. When I did a "Get Info" on the backup, its size was 62.11 GB. I looked through some of the files of the backup and it LOOKS like its all there but can't be certain of it. I would like to know the answer to this and PLEASE PLEASE DON'T give me the run around! IE: go see this page, go see that page, click this link, etc.! Just give me the answer straight up. I've already been looking all over this forum and at other Time Machine websites and have NOT found a good answer. I would REALLY appreciate just a straight up answer! Thanks!

    Would you like me to give you a complete list of every website I have looked at? Would that help? Well, here they are:

  • Preview's Actual Size is Not 1:1 pixel Actual Size?

    I've just noticed some strangeness in Preview not loading in a full jpg resolution.
    I have a .JPG photo that's 1920x1280.
    My screen resolution is 1920x1080.
    I double click the photo to load it into Preview. When viewed at Actual Size, there are no horizontal scroll bars (only a vertical one) and Preview's window is not from edge to edge of my monitor---it's perhaps about 80% my screen width.
    How can that be?
    Also, if I zoom even one level in Preview, the image appears to be pixelated. Conversely, if I load the image into photshop and CMD++ it till the title bar reads 100%, the image does in fact appear to be higher resolution/sharper (you can see more detail) and naturally has scroll bars since it can't be exactly as wide as the screen is. So it works normally at 100% pixel size in photoshop, giving me a 1:1 pixel match. But Preview doesn't. How can that be?
    I assume one could test this by using a photo that's the same size as their screen resolution in order to check --- you should expect horizontal scroll bars, right?
    What am I missing?

    Close!
    But that did lead me to find a checkbox at the bottom of the Images tab in the Preview Preferences called:
    "Respect image DPI for 'Actual Size'".
    You must uncheck that, and then it will load in all the pixels of your image! Cool.
    Strange that this isn't the default tho... but I suppose people who just mindlessly snap high megapixel photos don't need to zoom in and see additional detail contained in their photos when using Preview---which would make Preview load faster that way.. But who knows.. Nice to have the option to change it back by unchecking that box.
    Thanks.

  • My SWF is not the same size as my Flash document size

    My SWF is not the same size as my Flash document size. How can I get it to be the same.
    Thanks

    I spent a little time trying to figure out if there's some setting anywhere that might explain this, but couldn't find anything.  That doesn't mean there isn't any--I just don't know of any.
    I'm wondering if you could take a screen shot that shows the stage size versus the swf size when it plays?  It will help to make sure the problem is what I think you have it explained it to be.
    Does this happen in all files you create or is it occuring just in one particular file?  What version of Flash are you using?  If you can make your file available maybe someone can see if the problem remains when they open it--possibly even track down some cause.  I am unable to open CS4 files (don't have it), but if it's an earlier version I can take a look.
    If you are using CS4, have you updated it to the latest release (10.0.2, I believe)?  There were numerous bugs when CS4 was released, though I don't know if this would be one of them.

  • When exporting to PDF, the pictures are not the same size I "placed" them

    I am "placing" pics that are 653 x 983 pixels, 300 DPI, using CS4.  However, my issue is when exporting to PDF, the PDF doesn't look like the same size I "placed" the pic until I blow it up to about 350%.  I do not have a printer set up to my computer so I can't do the print/pdf option.  Am I doing something wrong here?  I can't figure it out.  Your help is appreciated.  Thanks!

    Well, right when I open the PDF, it's just way too small, imagine it being the size of a business card.  I have to keep zooming in until it gets to the size I originally intended it to be.  When I create a new document am I suppose to make it the same size as the picture?

  • Help, mostly with rendering size, not file size, actual size

    I made a short 4 second movie in after effects cs5, there are really no fancy effects, just a car with wheels turning driving across the screen, the size is super small at 167px width x 315px height. It's 30 fps.  It's from a set of three, I have no major issues with the other two but for some reason, when I render this one, it comes out super blurry/pixelated and the size is twice of what it should be, it's not too size of how I built it, and I can't resize it.  I think it looks so bad because it isn't coming out the right size, but I can not for the life of me figure out why. This is for my job, and I have to show it to the higher ups so I need it to look as crisp as possible. Any ideas what would make this happen? I've rendered so many different times, i brought it into Adobe media encoder, I feel like I am just missing some little switch, but can't find it. I render quicktime as an animation, it's so small, it doesn't matter if I do animation.  I've tried at the default settings of best and lossless, I've changed things, I am not sure what else I should do, anybody have any insight? I can provide more info if needed, thanks so much in advanced!

    167x315 is your comp size for all three comps and you know this absolutely.
    Your render settings are exactly the same for each of the three comps and you know this absolutely.
    You shoudl be able to examine the properties of the output movies by either brining them back into AE or using the inspector in QT. Each will show a movie size and a display size. A tiny movie, like 167x315, will look awful if played at normal viewing size of 640x480 because it will be scaled up by twice, each pixel will be four times its native size. That can happen when a flag gets set in QT to display a movie at full screen size which is different from the falge that sets it to display full size.
    Double check everything.
    You shoudl be able to render out comp 1, which is good, and then dleete everything in comp 1 and fill it up with stuff copied and pasted out of comp 3. Then you use the exact same render settings again.

    iOS uses more memory on the iPhone 5 than the iPhone 4 because there are quite a few more to iPhone 5. Therefore there will be less memory available on the 5. Reluctantly iOS 7, coming this fall, uses a bit less memory than iOS 6 so if you can do without a few apps until then you should be gravy!

  • Graphical Form Painter could not be called

    When Im in se71 and click on the pushbutton Layout in the header form I get an error message 'Graphical Form Painter could not be called (FORMPAINTER_CREATE_WINDOW)'. What does that mean and what should have been displayed when I pushed that button?

  • Moved site - ADDT insert form pages not working

    Not sure what has happened here. I have copied a site from:
    www.goodsafariguide.com to:
    www.goodsafariguide.net
    The domains are on a shared reseller hosting account so are both pointing to the same database, but I noticed that pages with ADDT forms were not displaying at all.
    I created a new page just with a basic form, and it works on the .com domain:
    http://www.goodsafariguide.com/campkalahari/newform.php
    But not on the .net domain:
    http://www.goodsafariguide.net/campkalahari/newform.php
    The database connection looks OK - any idea what the issue here could be?
    Thanks.

    Narrowed it down to the error:
    PHP Fatal error:  Class 'tNG_dispatcher' not found in /home/gsgnet12/public_html/campkalahari/index.php on line 27
    I think I can see what all happened now. I originally got thrown because I uploaded the entire site, including a folder containing lots of hi-res photos, that were never uploaded originally. It looks as though files that weren't uploaded when the disk space ran out were still showing up in the file directory, but with a file size of 0k.
    So then when I was reuploading files, Dreamweaver wasn't actually uploading them because it seemed to think they were already uploaded, and I could see them showing up on the remote server, so it all looked OK.
    Anyway - it all looks OK now.

  • Changing page size from legal to letter with same size font when printed

    I have the problem that I get a pdf which is in legal size format.  I need to print this in letter size, sign it and re-scan it and send via email to a person who then needs to print it and sign it and scan it.  What is happening is the person who I have to send this too can only scan letter size paper.  I can make the legal size form print, (shink to fit printable area), as letter size but the font becomes so small that it is unreadable.  What I need to do is resize the legal to letter but keep the same size font.  I expect this to make the document 2 pages but that is fine.  I can not find how to do this.  I have Adobe 9.
    [email protected]

    Does the original legal size document content occupy more space than would fit on 8.5x11? If not, then you can simply set the page size in print driver properties to letter, and in the Page Handling area of the Print dialog box tell it:
    Page Scaling: None
    check: Auto-Rotate and Center
    do not check: Choose paper source by PDF page size - this will force it to print on the paper selected in the print driver properties.
    If the actual content is too large to print on the forced paper, then you need to (in the Page Handling area of the print dialog) tell it:
    Page Scaling: Tile large pages
    This will allow the remaining content to print on a second page

  • How can two pictures of the same size still appear to be a different size? (Photoshop CS6 problem)

    I called the big webdesign file "(X)" and the image I wanted to paste in it "(Y)",
    so that you won't be confused when you read it.
    What Happened
    For the design of a webpage, I made a photoshop-file(X) with a lot of squares(X). These squares(X) had the size 9,42×9,42 centimeters.
    I measured the squares(X) carefully and also made sure the size was in centimeters, so I am sure that the size was 9,42×9,42 cm.
    My plan was to fill the squares(X) with pictures(Y). I had a map on my computer with a lot of square-sized JPG-images(Y) in it. All I had
    to do was open the pictures(Y) in photoshop, change the size into 9,42×9,42 centimeters and copy+paste them into the squares(X)
    of the webdesign. I did this before and it worked perfectly.
    But then, I opened one of the images(Y) and when I wanted to resize it, the resize-tool said it was only 3,25×3,25 centimeters big.
    I thought it was strange, so I copied+pasted it into the design-file(X) with all the squares(X) that needed to be filled. Allthough photoshop
    had told me that the squares(X) in the file were 9,42×9,42 centimeters big and the image(Y) I resized was 3,25×3,25, the "small" image(Y)
    turned out to be bigger then the squares(X). And when I resized the "small" image(Y) into 9,42×9,42 centimeters, it was even bigger
    than it was before. How can this be, and how can I still make the images(X&Y) the same size?
    What I already tried
    - I made the file of the webdesign(X) with all the squares(X) into one layer, copied the file(X) and opened a new file(X) with the same
    measurements of the old file(X). I also changed the resolution of the file(X) into pixels/centimeters instead of pixels/inches.
    Then I pasted the image(X) of the old file into the new file. I didn't work; the image(X) that I pasted in the new file was bigger and
    when I pasted the other picture(Y) in this image, the same problem was still there.
    - I also opened the picture(Y) in photoshop, made a screenshot of it and then pasted the screenshot into paint. With paint I cropped
    it again and saved it as a JPEG-file. After that, I opened the image (Y) in photoshop again. It now had the size of 11,27×11,27 centimeters.
    Then I resized the image(Y) into 9,42×9,42 cm, but it still wasn't as big as the squares(X).
    Could you help me please?
    I really don't understand why this problem is happening and I can't think of a solution because I am still quite unexperienced with photoshop
    and I also couldn't find the answer on the internet. I assume the solution is very simple, but I haven't found it yet allthough I have to finish this
    project soon and I also have to use the image(Y). So any help would be very appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Simone

    You need to understand the basic of a digital image.
    Image is recorded as pixels and image is a rectangle so many pixels wide and so many pixel high.   Pixels do not have a fixed size. The images resolution setting defines the image current pixel size.
    So for example if you have and image that is 300 pixel wide and 200 pixels high and set its dip resolution to 100DPI the image size is 3" wide and 2" high.  Set its dip setting tp 300DPI the image size becomes 1" wide by 2/3" high.  Both the 3" x 2" and the 1"x2/3" images have the same 60000 RGB Colored Pixels.
    Web pages are sized to to be so many pixel wide and so many pixel high.  Often the height is not enforced scrolling is used when viewing.
    However image for web pages often must not exceed so many pixel wide and high for displays have a fixed resolution and a fixed number of Pixels. You want images to fit on users displays.  Users use different displays some have high resolution displays and other have low resolution displays with far fewer pixels then high resolution displays.
    Web Image are normally image that have been interpolated down in number of pixels a resampled large image so that web image will fit on a low resolution  display with limited number of pixels. The image size the user see depend on the display they are currently using. A low resolution display's image will be much larger then the same image displayed on a nexus 10 with a 300dip display. Cheep low cost Desktop LCD have a 84DIP resolution, large high cost desktop displays are not be much higher in resolution somewhere near 108DPI.   Tablets, Laptop and Phones can have much higher resolution like the nexus 10 300DPI IPS display

  • Forms is not cooperating at all!!

    ok so idk maybe I'm just not intelligent enough to understand Forms but I have read through various Documentation on Forms 11g and done research on it and I have typed stuff exactly how I read about to put it and nothing seems to be working like it is supposed to.
    I am working on making a page that can upload and download a PDF from the client's computer to the Database and back by use of buttons. The upload page has a browse button that is supposed to bring up an open dialog box using webutil and then when the user selects a file the file path of that file will be placed into a text box so that 1. they can verify that it is correct and 2. to store the file path for later. Then the user clicks the upload button and the button is supposed to pull the file path from the text item and store the file located in that location into the database.
    here is the code for each of the buttons.
    browse button:
    DECLARE
         File_Path VARCHAR2(255);
    BEGIN
         FILE_PATH := WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_OPEN_DIALOG
              C,
              null,
              '*.pdf'
         :block.file_upload_text := FILE_PATH;
         Synchronize;
         END;
    upload button:
    Declare
         Result_Upload BOOLEAN;
    Begin
         Result_Upload := Webutil_File_Transfer.Client_To_DB
              :block.file_upload_text,
              'file_tbl',
              'file'
    End;
    and the text box is in the data blocks drop down under buttons it was put there automatically by Forms. But when I try to compile it I get an Error 49 bad bind variable 'block.file_upload_text'
    the text item name is spelled correctly and everything I have found online says that is how to access the text in a text item I dont understand what is gong on that it isnt working and I am really getting annoyed at Forms because no matter how much I read about it and how much of the little of what is available that I look at I can not figure out what is wrong.
    Another problem I am having is that before you even get to this upload page there is another page and that page has a button that is supposed to pull up the upload page and I have figured out enough to figure out that I need the upload page canvas to be a data block in order to call it and then you use a go_block or something like that to pull it up but what I can't figure out is how to make that canvas into a data block... everything that I am finding is saying that to create a data block you need to call a table and stuff and I dont know how I am supposed to put that canvas into a table in the database so that I can create a data block with that canvas in it. I even found something that is supposed to walk you through how to do it and I got to like step 4 of 6 and it said to do something to do with double clicking the database node button or something and I looked everywhere and didn't find anything that said anything about database node. I have been working on this for about a month and a half now and it feels like I have gotten nowhere on it I still haven't even gotten to the download part at all.
    I got this same program working completely upload and download in Java in 2 weeks then found out we needed it to work with Forms so I found out I needed it to be a java bean not just java so I tried to figure that out, couldn't seem to figure out how a java bean worked with what I was trying to do and the only documentation I was able to find that might have been helpful for it was on a blog which are blocked from my work computer and I was informed that Forms had something built in that did exactly what I needed, well that hasn't helped much either so far... I could really use some detailed absolutely as dumbed down as possible help here because I really need to get this thing done.
    I know I rambled a little and I am sorry, any help that can be provided will be greatly appreciated!!

    Sorry for feeling uncomfortable with Forms. But your, I think there is a lot of room fpr (re-)reading forms documentation and other educational handouts.
    I won't solve yout problems, but may be I can give you few hints, tht came into my mind, when browsing yout post:
    DECLARE
    File_Path VARCHAR2(255);
    BEGIN
    FILE_PATH := WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_OPEN_DIALOG( C, null, '*.pdf')
    +:block.file_upload_text := FILE_PATH;+
    Synchronize;
    END;
    1. What is C? You should get a compilation error since iot is nor declared.
    2. Do you need a directory ot a file. If the first take FILE_SELECTION_DIALOG into consideration. Or may ist easier for you to use CLIENT_GET_FILE_NAME. For this function don't miss to set FILE_SELECT-Parameter to FALSE.
    3. Are you sure the block, where the item FILE_UPDLOAD_TEXT is in is named BLOCK. Forms automatic naming will generate something like BLOCKn (where n is a number). But may be you have renamed the Block (what is common use).
    4. Declaration of file_path is not really necessary; you may assigne the result of the Function immediately to your forms item (via bind variable :<block_name>.<item_name>)
    5. Synchronize is not neccessary at this point, just costs a round-trip ofr the AS.
    (6. I'm an fan of PL/SQLs named parameter syntax; it make code easier to read and to maintaine. So your function call would read
    WEBUTIL_FILE.FILE_OPEN_DIALOG( directory_name => c, file_name => NULL, ...
    just a suggestion, fell free to uswr or not)
    The following is hard to understand. Probably you have a complete different understandind of how to program. You have to accept it's oracle forms an not sonething. That means there are certain structures:
    1. Data
    1 Form consits of one or several blocks; some of them may be connect to the database, often to a table, but it need not be a table; these are called database blocks, others (no database connect) are often called control block (but might also hold data).
    1 Block consists of one or several items; some of them hold data in form of text, numbers, date, image, lists, radios ...; others are means to control the application, e.g. buttons.
    2. View
    1 Form consists of one or several windows.
    1 Window contains one or more canvases; at least one content canvas; there are also other types, but I think you don't need them.
    On the the canvases you "paint" all the things you want to sho to your users, your items (you have to make an item visible and assigne a canvas in the canvas property), free text, graphic elements.
    You don't program a "page"! Your application is running within an applet within a page.
    3. Logic
    You may assigne logic via triggers to the elements of the data stack (form, block, item), not the view stack.
    You may put logic into procedures and functions for better readability and maintainance; these can be stored locally in the form or in own libraries for re-use in other forms.
    What trigger to use in which situation? That beyond my post.
    A special topic here: you can extend forms functionality with java beans. You have to extend forms functionalty with java beans, if you need to get our of the applet sand box. You need that because you want to read/write information of your local client. Basic Java beans you find in WEBUTIL. It offers, I am sure, all the functionality you need. And you have found them.
    So to get your problem solved of showing the whole stuff after pressing a button there a several possibilities:
    easiest: create 2nd content canvas and put your items there; at the switching button issue GO_BLOCK('<block_name>') OR GO_ITEM('<block_name>.<item_name>'), where block_name is that thing that makes the compilation trouble.
    bit mor an effort: create an own window with a new content canvas; the rest as described above; get some knowledge about SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY, espacially in cinjunction with the property VISIBLE, you will need it, whenn switching back;
    even more effort: create an new forms + .... and call this form on the swithing button.
    This might be a reasonable way if you want to re-use this function (up-/down-loading) from several forms.
    Last sentence, in java it took 2 weeks?in forms, Iwould say it's a task for 2-4 hours (forms and webutil correctly installed nd configured). But I won't tell your boss.
