Smartview 9314 cannot connect Hyperion Provider

Hello,
I want to connect via Oracle - Hyperion Smartview 9.3.1.4 to Essbase server. But I cannot connect via Hyperion Provider. Always new release popup appear and It force me release upgrade. Because of company rules I cannot upgrade my release.
How can I connect via Smartview 9.3.1.4?

The timeout was updated to 7 minutes but, the timeout on the APS was never updated. What happened was there was a 7,000 member dimension where attributes where being used to build a retrieve. The attributes were what was causing the issue. Not to say you should not use attributes. Ultimately, an alternate hierarchy in the 7,000 member dimension will help but, I used other members to get the results I need. I just never saw the error message before and, did not see it in oracle support.. Thanks.

I am having an issue retrieving on a SmartView grid running 11.1.2.2.309.01 and SmartView 11.1.2.2.102.I have a grid with three attribute dimension and, at first it was long running and gave me a netretry netinterval error. I shared with my administrator and, they gave me the registry updates to increase my timeout for my default browser. Now, I try to retrieve the same sheet and after approximately five minutes, I get the message, "Smartview Error: "Cannot Connect to Provider. Make Sure It Is Running in the Specified Host/Port (503)". I am not sure what this means. I can retrieve on other grids with one attribute dimension or a regular retrieve but, for some reason, I notice when I retrieve on multiple attribute dimensions, I am having this issue. I had this tested with others and, they are experiencing the same result. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance

SmartView Error "Cannot Connect to the Provider. Make Sure It Is Running...

Our user are getting below error when they try to connect from SmartView
Cannot Connect to the Provider. Make Sure It Is Running in the Specified Host/Port.Error(12031).
We are on 9.3.3 planning.our web server is WebSphere

You might want to increase the timeout and check:
Smartview in Excel utilizes some Microsoft settings that it obtains From IE. When running on IE 7 or higher there are new settings that have a low default time out. You can increase these by following the instructions in the articles listed below

Make sure you have a safe backup of the windows registry before you do this .
1. Open the Registry (Start -> Run -> Regedit)
2. Locate the following section:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\
3. Create the following new keys for DWORD with Hexadecimal values:
ReceiveTimeout and set it to 00dbba00
KeepAliveTimeout and set it to 00180000
ServerInfoTimeout and set it to 00180000
4.Disconnect and close the Smartview and launch a fresh connection

SmartView Cannot Connect to Provider - Java Issue?

Hi guys,
So I'm running Windows 8 64, Office 2010 64 , SmartView-11122310 64. A week or so ago, I had an issue where SmartView suddenly couldn't connect in Excel from my laptop. Another laptop worked going against the same server. I eventually ended up uninstalling Java 7 and installing Java 6u29 and it started working.
Now it's happened again and I have no more Java 7 to uninstall.
Have any of you guys seen this before?

Smart View v11.1.2.2.310 This release is available as Patch 16238382. It offers support for 32/64-bit Office 2010 for Smart View only.
As per support Matrix, Windows 8 is not supported. The following OS is supported for EPM 11.1.2.x
Windows Server 2008 with SP2+
Windows Server 2008 R2 (all SP levels included)
Windows Server 2003 with SP2/R2+, SP3+
Windows XP Professional with SP3+
Windows Vista with SP1+
Windows 7 (all SP levels included)

SmartView 11.1.1.1 fails to connect to Provider Services

Background: Using 11g db, Essbase Spreadsheet Add-In works, Can connect to Admin Server and Essbase with EAS, all Windows services start up fine, installed as 'Deploy Essbase in standalone mode'.
Problems:
1. I get the following error trying to connect the SmartView Add-In in Excel to Provider Services:
Cannot connect to provider. The attempt to connect to the server failed. Make sure the server is running in the specified URL.
Here is my URL: http://localhost:13080/aps/SmartView (I've also tried substituting in my hostname.)
2. I get the following error trying to connect to the Hyperion Provider Server with EAS:
URL http://localhost:13080/aps/APS is not reachable. Please enter another Analytic Provider Services URL.
(I've also tried substituting in my hostname.)

I installed EPM 11.1.1.2 on *"BOX1"* (Essbase stand alone mode) and EPM11.1.1.2 on *"BOX2"* (Essbase stand alone mode)
The provider server creation is giving me trouble on Box1 as it says *"URL http://Servername:13080/aps/APS is not reachable. PLease enter another Provider Services URL"*
I tried with localhost @servername(as I was trying to connect from the Box1 only) Stil its not able to create.
I went to services and checked the "Hyperion Provider Services - WebApplication" service and I restarted to make it work several times and still the same problem.
Where as, I'm able to create a Provider Server on *"BOX2"*
I need your expertise advise on why this problem is on my *"BOX1"* and how to get rid of this problem?
I checked with netstat -ae command to see the server port# 13080 is listening too.
Any help is well appreciated and very useful for me!!

That's it!
On a different server of ours, we see this additional information below the Hyperion Provider Services e.g.

Cannot connect to Planning from SmartView

Hi to all! :)
I tried it both in Excel 2007 and 2003 and I am using Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3. When in Excel, I went to Hyperion>Options and put http://servername:8300/HyperionPlanning/SmartView as Hyperion Provider Service URL. Next, when I go to Data Source Manager, no Hyperion Planning applications appear in the tree, even the tree does not appear with its folders. And when I click Connect to Provider Services in Data Source Manager, SmartView throws a message box: Unable to load the following resource: Please enter user credential to login. After closing that box and clicking Connect to Provider Services for the second time, then already nothing happens and even the error box does not appear.
However, if I put http://servername:13080/aps/SmartView as Hyperion Provider Service URL, then Data Source Manager shows Essbase cubes. So I would be immensely grateful for any hint on where I should look into to solve this problem :)

use the aps/SmartView link, that is the proper link through Provider services. The other link is used in the independent connection, not the common connection.
make sure that the 'predefined' button is selected to 'all' not 'favorites'
to add a planning server right click on the Hyperion Planning folder and click 'add'

What I am facing right now, it always prompt me this error message

it is in version 9.3.1.2. this error i got when i try to connect any application through connection manager.

If you are not the admin of the system then you will need to contact them to make sure APS is running, If you are the admin and APS is installed on windows then there will be a service named something like Hyperion Provider Services, you will need to start this service.

Smartview cannot connect to Analyzer

Hello; I installed Hyperion smartview, in excel I use it to create connections to Reports and Analyzer, can connect to Reports but when try to create an analyzer connection cannot connect when request a userid and password, always sned a message "unable to connect" Could anyone test it or know how to connect it to Analyzer 7.2 ? the only thing in there that I recognise as an IP is 127.0.0.1 which I have tried for SmartView and does not work.
The document is pointing me at the inet address under eth0, but there the only address is inet6 and the ip there is unlike anything I have ever seen (fe80::a00:27ff:fe86:515a/64)
Can anyone advise and get me past this brick wall??

SmartView DataSource manager - no link to connect to provider services.

Hi,
I have opened up excel and I want to connect to provider services. I have selected the "Hyperion" tab and then clicked on "Connect".
Now on the right side i see a "SmartView Data Source Manager"
But there is no link "Connect to Provider Services" which i can use to connect to essbase.
I have re-installed smartview but I dont get the link when i click "Connect".
I have removed and added the addin for smartview but still i do not see the link.
Can anybody tell me what's happening ?

P.S.: This is only on my system. On another system i get the link and am able to connect to essbase through smartview.

Dumb question but have you configured the Foundation after installation? Also you mention Foundation and Smart View but no other Hyperion products..have you installed any other products or is this a standalone Essbase instance?

I'm getting the below message when i try and access SQL Config Manager on my Windows Server 2003 R2
"Cannot connect to WMI provider. You do not have permission or the server is unreachable. Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 and later servers with SQL Server Configuration Manager.
Generic failure [0x80041001]"
Also tries with the below solution but still the error persists
The solution is to go to a command prompt as administrator and then run mofcomp.

EPM version: EPM 11.1.2.1
When we are using Zoom In Level as All Levels and tring to drill down for dimention of HFM application we are getting below error.
Error: "Cannot connect to the provider. Make sure it is running in the specified host/port. Error (12031)"
As we found some solution from comunity , we have performed below workaround but still we are getting same error.
·              We have done the changes in mod_wl_ohs.conf file of OHS with (WLIOTimeoutSecs 3600 and WLIOSocketTimeoutSecs 3600)
·              And then restarted OHS and APS service but still we found same error.
Could anyone please suggest ,where can we trace its log from web server and the solution for this issue?

We have already performed the changes for APS in OHS as mentioned in the solution and the path also same as under OHS.
Intially we were getting error for "to increase netRetryCould and NetRetryInterval" as a solution we have added below 3 registry DWORD keys under path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
"KeepAliveTimeout"=dword:00180000                   (26 Minutes)
"ReceiveTimeout"=dword:00dbba00                      (240 Minutes)
"ServerInfoTimeout"=dword:00180000                  (26 Minutes)
Above error resolved but then we received Error"12031"
Now we have added above 3 DWORD keys under path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
and now we are not getting the error "12031".
But here we are not getting how it(LB issue) resolved with above solution?

I get that problem once in a while and I will not be able to connect to the Internet with any of the 5 or 6 (or 7 or 8 ) web browsers that I use on my iPad. The one thing that I do that has never failed to work for me is to close all apps on my iPad and reset the device. I can't guarantee that it will work for you, but this works for me every time I get the server failed to load/can't connect to the Internet message.... Or whatever the exact message is.
If you have a ton of apps in the multitasking display, it can take a while to close them all, so you could just trey resetting the iPad first and that might be all that you need to do.
Closing apps in iOS 7 works like this. Drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Cannot connect to WMI provider. You do not have permission or the server is unreachable. Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 servers with SQL Server Configuration Manager. Invalid class [0x80041010].
The solution is to go to a command prompt and then run mofcomp.

Cannot connect to hyperion financial reporting in EPM 11.1.2.1

Dear all,
I cannot connect to FR in EPM 11.1.2.1 on test server , and this problem avoid us from migrating to production .
I successfully conigured FR and install it on our system . But we still facing the same problem . We already followed some steps published in OTN .
*1- Reconfigured FR and redeploy and reconfigure web server. but nothing changed*
*2- Create new user and provision him to all roles then refresh the security filters but nothing changed*
The test server is 2008 Win OS , 64 bit.
EPM version is 11.1.2.1 .
we received the following 2 errors .
*1- in FR : "You are not authorized to use this functionality. Contact your administrator."*
*2-In workspace : "Required application module reporting.HRImport is not configured"*

For the below issues, we had the same issues earlier....
we received the following 2 errors .

2-In workspace : "Required application module reporting.HRImport is not configured"
First error will come in different situations....
->If FR studio/BI installed in different server, you are trying to connect from other machine, it will give the error.
For this you need to contact firewall/windows team to open the required ports to be open (ex: 19000/8297,etc), we have asked firewall team to open all hyperion ports from main server to source & vice versa, then it worked.
Note: If BI/FR installed unix, you are trying to access from windows, you need to get all ports to be opened vise versa. please make you are in the same network. try to ping telnet ports from source to destination for each port and vice versa.
->Also the same (1st error) will come if BI services down & not able to ping the FR installed server/work space services. and make sure your admin id should have all admin privilizes.
Second error:
-> Whenever workspace/FR studio services are not up, then will get the error, try to restart directly from /bin folder or try to check the status once you restart (sometimes due to closewait/hung connections), will face issue.
Actuall the same error will come even in 9.3.1 version.
Note: I am just sharing my environment issues and fixes, faced same issues & error and get it resolved with help of windows team. apologize if i am wrong in your envrionment & issue.
