So i have this macbook pro and when i put my phone on the left side of the touch (pad?) my laptop just goes to sleep every time.

When ever I put my Iphone on the left side of the (Pad?) my laptop goes to sleep, sometimes does come back on until I change the position of the phone. Can anyone explain this?

Sleep function in the MBP is triggered by magnets placed in the lid.
There is an advisory from Apple against stacking portable computers to prevent this.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2917
Just keep gadgets that have magnets away from the computer.
Best.
