So tired of Fireforx crashing multiple times daily! Happening 2 updates ago or so. Did all the recommended fixes. Sending crash results have yielded nothing!
I used to run a lot of add-ons and never had a crashing problem with FF. But with every update I have been forced to remove more and more add-ons. Now, I only have those that are really essential to me. Yet, I have more crashes than ever. FF keeps thanking me for my crash test results but never fixes anything! Maybe it's time for FF to accommodate the add-ons rather than the other way around -- since that's how it used to be. My add-ons never caused crashes. What's the good of running FF without add-ons to see if it crashes, if you really need the ad-ons? I really don't want to use IE, but FF is trying my patience to the limit. How about actually analyzing MY crash results and sending me an email that says more than "Thank you," but rather, "Here's why your crashes are occurring." Come on, guys -- get with it!
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the crash report if it does not diagnose the cause of the crash?

For the last 2 weeks after installing Firefox 7 and then this week installing update version 8.0 my 64 bit Vista PC started to crash at least twice each day; tried running disabling selected plug ins and extensions, and then using the safe mode option but Firefox 8.0 continues to crash multiple times daily. This problem does not occur on my Windows XP PC.
Both Trusteer Rapport and Roboform are known to cause Firefox 8 to crash, even in Safe Mode.
Do you have '''Trusteer Rapport''' installed? If so, disable it.
* Windows: "Start->All Programs->Trusteer Rapport->Stop Rapport"
* Mac: "System Preferences -> Other -> Rapport -> Stop Rapport"
For more help you can ask their helpdesk. <br />

Roboform is also causing Firefox 8 to crash upon startup. Install the latest 7.6.3 version of Roboform. <br />

Also, Firefox 8.0.1 was just released and has a patch for crashes on Windows, but it's not being pushed as an update to all Firefox 8.0 users on Windows - you need to download it separately and install it yourself. -
I really want the username and password info to stay in the respective boxes without having to do anything to get them there, like they have been the last three years until today. (This is on a site I access multiple times daily, and is not a site having any security issues).
Double-click within the box, then for each incorrect user name, select it, and press "Del" key
(Mac users will have to use "Shift+Del" instead of just "Del" key) -
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times. When I connect my iPod Classic I get the following message: The software for this iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the required software. Any ideas?
Assuming you have windows, try uninstalling iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. Note: uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.

I updated my iMac to Mountain Lion. All the files were deleted. I have Time Machine backups. When I restart the mac pressing Command R to restore it from the backup it shows the previous OS X (Leopard) beside the date of the backup that I want to select. Will it go back to Leopard if I restore it from the backup?
No, it won't revert to the prior OS X but you you may have third party apps installed that were compatible with Lion that may not be compatible with Mountain Lion.

Booklet won't let me because of multiple page sizes, even if I am using A4 for all the pages, this is the error message:
"The active document uses multiple page sizes Print Booklet works only with documents that use a consistent page size."
I am using Indesign CS6 (patches are up to date)
thank you
CeciliaDo you already see this when starting the Print Booklet dialog or later when finally putting out? If you can see the dialog windows, will the preview show all pages in same size?

I have just update my iphone 4 to iOS5 and it did all the usual restore stuff. The next time I connected to my Mac instead of syncing it started to restore again, thus locking my handset, any ideas?
This indicates corrupt files. A restore should resolve.
You might want to try a simple sync first -
I've tried all the reported fixes to make Time Machine to get past 9.5 GB.
I've tried all the reported fixes to make Time Machine to get past 9.5 GB. This is a brand new iMac that came with 10.4.11 installed, we then installed 10.5.2 that came in the box for this machine. I have a new 150GB Firewire HD that I formated and partitioned using "GUID" scheme. I repaired permissions on the iMac HD, with no errors. I tried "safe mode", reformatting and everything else that I can think of. Time machine still won't get by that 9. something GB and reports the error. Any help with this will be appreciated, Richard Dion (508) 881-2535

Flash CS5 Crashing Multiple Times Daily
Over the last few years most of my workload has been UI development & programming. I'm currently on a timeline based animation project and Flash CS5 is now crashing upwards of a dozen times daily.
I'm on OSX latest.
I've installed Flash CS5 latest.
Sorry but this is ridiculous....Hi river_rage,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPad is restarting unexpectedly after upgrading to iOS 7, I'd suggest backing up and restoring it. See this article for the steps:

System crashes multiple times daily after 10.9.2 upgrade
I upgraded my MacBookPro to 10.9.2 and now my computer crashes constantly. Prior to the upgrade my MBP was rock solid. Now, some days are good and it will only crash 2 or so times. Other days are bad, today it must have crased 10 times. I definately feel like I've gone back to microsoft ****.
Here is what I know and what I have done.
1) When I "upgraded" I was using firevault. I did not turn this off prior to the upgrade. I suspected this might be the problem early on because my computer asked me for 2 passwords on boot. One for "legacy firevault." I turned this off. The computer still crashed. I did a safe boot and turned off firevault. This time my computer took about 4 hours to presumably unencrypt the drive. Compuer still crashed regularly
2) I have used safe boot several times.
3) I have used disk utility to check my HDD. No errors to fix.
4) My experience seems to be that often time when moved around my folders in finder the computer crashes so I deleted finder preferences: com.apple.finder.plist
5) I have also reset the NVRAM and the SMC
Still crashing.
Here is my latest crash report. Anyone have any ideas?

Thunderbolt Bus:You have the MacBookPro6,2, the Edsel of Macs. It may have a logic-board defect covered by this recall.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider, to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers do not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue that Apple calls "VST" (for "Video Switching Test.") Ask for it. A "Failed" result means that the fault is present. However, according to reports, some units may pass the test, and yet still be deemed eligible for repair under the program. Your experience may vary.
Print the first page of the panic report, if any, and the support page linked above, and bring them with you.
Note that the recall only applies within three years of purchase. After that, Apple may refuse the service. In that case, you may be quoted a price of about $300 (in the U.S.) for a "depot repair," which involves shipping the unit to a central repair facility and takes about two weeks. For that flat fee, anything found wrong with it should be fixed, not just the logic board.
The model was discontinued on February 24, 2011, so the recall has nominally ended. Some units may have been sold after that date by Apple as refurbished, or by resellers as new, and they should still be covered.
Some owners report that their unit was repaired under the program after the deadline had passed. Others report that the repair was covered by the extended warranty from a credit-card issuer. Again, your experience may vary.
Sometimes the replacement part is also defective, so be prepared for that possibility.
If it's too late for your unit to be repaired under the program, and you don't want to pay for a new logic board, you may be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching. To use the discrete graphics processor, you'll need a third-party utility to switch to it manually.
If you're dissatisfied with Apple's response, please keep in mind that no one here represents the company or can help with customer-service issues.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed. -
Cron.daily scripts ran multiple times since cron package update
Since cron package update I get a weird behaviour with cron.daily scripts. Indeed these scripts are executed multiple times, which is somewhat annoying for big backup.
I added this little script in cron.daily to show this :
#!/bin/bash
# Test cron

And I get this :

My Toshiba laptop is only a couple months old. I have checked to make sure everything is updated. Ever since I've installed Mozilla, it crashes when I open it. It will stay up for anywhere between 5 and 15 seconds before it crashes. When I open Mozilla after the crash, it works fine. I have tried all the suggested troubleshooting and am tired of waiting through that first crash to use the internet.
Also, I have next seen a Mozilla crash report window. As I see, your problems might be derivated from a plug-in.
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
If that did not work, please give us crash report IDs so we can see what might have caused the problem. ''Remember: you should have first send Mozilla crash report information that we can check on databases before sending us any ID''
Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
#Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.
Thanks in advance for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the [[Firefox crashes]] article. -
Here is the error message:
[JavaScript Application]
evalInSandbox:Error: Premission denied for
<https://www.facebook.com> to create wrapper for
object of class UnnamedClass
The message pops up multiple times whenever I reload certain pages.
The problem does not happen in Safari or Chrome.
I've restarted Firefox but it does not help.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to make the error stop.
Thanks!hello flabs, this is likely caused by an outdated extension. in case you have the social fixer addon installed, please update it to the latest version that is available at http://socialfixer.com/blog/category/releasenotes/.
