Song titles won't display in itunes..

when i connect to the music store, the album will display but the song titles down below will not...? a little help...?

I've got the same problem. Both in Windows and on my iBook... Both are running iTunes 4.7.1. I talked to a friend of mine and she's running 5.0.1 with no problems.
I did try "add album" and it shows up in my shopping cart, but the items i had in there before are also invisible. (The add to the total cost, but aren't listed in the song list.) Even empty is says the total cost is near $16, but i can't click on Buy.
I'm guessing they've decided to force us to upgrade to 6...

Windows Explorer will display tag properties for mp3 & wma files, not aac (m4a) or wav. It is possible for mp3 files to contain multiple tags but only one will be displayed. Try inspecting the problem fils with a third party tag editor to see if you can tell what is going on. For mp3 files, provided all the details that you want the file to have are displayed in iTunes, you can try using the right-click option Convert ID3 Tag > None a few times followed by Convert ID3 Tag > ID3v2.3 which may well help.

  • PodCast chapter artwork won't display in iTunes

I recently put together a PodCast walking tour, which had images of the different stops for each chapter. However, these do not display when the PodCast is played through iTunes (when it's retrieved from the feed, or when the file is played outright). However, the images/chapters display in QuickTime and on the iPod itself. Can someone tell me why this might be, and how I can fix this?
    Thank you!

I'm having a similar problem. I'm not creating the podcasts, but I am trying to view one that has chapter artwork. The podcast is "gdgt weekly" which you can download through the iTunes store.
The chapter artwork displays just fine on my iPhone, but won't display in iTunes 9, yet I can click on the Chapters menu and see small thumbnails of the chapter artwork.
How do I get the chapter artwork to display in the main window during playback of the podcast.

  • ITunes song lists won't display, iTMS works fine

I'm not sure what I did, but when I open up iTunes (7.2) and click on Library or a playlist, it won't display the list of music. The iTunes store displays fine, and the music still plays (I have to cycle through it blindly), which makes me think the problem is with the rendering of the list or the program's reference to it being null. I'm not too sure. Interestingly enough, the search text box is disabled.
I've obviously rebooted the computer and tried to delete the old library XMLs and re-import, but neither of those helped. Suggestions would be great.

  • CD titles, song titles not showing up in iTunes 7

I backed up my songs purchased from iTunes and burned on iTunes 6 before I finally got iTunes 7 installed. My library appears to be in limbo, so I inserted the backup CDs to import into the iTunes 7 library. However, iTunes 7 is not reading the information. The CD title reads Audio CD, and the song titles are listed as Track 01, Track 02, Track 03, etc. My question is what do I need to do to get iTunes 7 to read the information that was burned using iTunes 7?

    Chris,
I would start with a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes. If you're still having issues, this article provides some other things you could look into to help solve your issue:

  • My podcast displays as continuous and won't display in iTunes.

My podcast displays as continuous and won't display time or download in iTunes. My RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/AfterRealityTvPodcast
My first post displays fine but this does not.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Best,
    Spencer

I was able to subscribe to your podcast; both episodes showed and the latest one started downloading (I didn't download it fully), so everything seems OK in that respect. The Store is showing only the first episode: it's too soon to expect to see the latest episode there as it was only posted today. The first episode plays OK in the Store.
Your server does handle 'byte range requests' as required for iPhones so that should be OK.
The reason it's sayinng 'continuous' when subscribing is that you have no 'itunes:duration' tags containing the duration of the episode. I can't advise on how you would enter this information in Blogger, but I would expect it to be possible.
If you are unable to play episodes when subscribing or from the Store there is some problem local to your Mac or iPhone. Perhaps you can get a friend to check whether they can play it, but I would expect them to be able to as I had no problems.

  • Why can't I read Japanese characters on song titles and artists on my itunes

For some reason all of my Japanese songs titles and artists are in this random jumbled text, and I was wondering if anyone can help me fix it.

Sorry. I think you misread me. I know you said the software upgrade messed me up and I agree. It was Kobo Support who said the ebook/library book that caused the problem. When I called Kobo Support to see if they had a fix they told me it was my library's problem. I kept going back to the software upgrade and all the trouble shooting I had done - including the paperclip in the back - but the tech just kept getting me to do the same things over and over. You were spot on that they would try to place the blame on something other than their upgrade but they didn't blame ADE. The tech didn't have any new suggestions . I eventually gave up on her and took the device back to its like new settings, unintalled and reinstalled all the software on both my device and pc. It is working now but unfortunately I lost a couple of books.  Thanks for your input.

  • I moved my podcasts and image files to a subfolder - now images won't display in iTunes

I moved my podcasts and image files into a subfolder. The podcasts are working OK, but the image file does not display in iTunes anymore.
The feed is directed through feed burner at http://feeds.feedburner.com/VineyardChurchOfMilan.
The source xml is at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/rl89sk4lkrn9930/Zm0Jb6C1Hj/Podcast (MilanVineyardChurch.xml)
The iTunes link is at https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/vineyard-church-of-milan/id562567379
I added "/Podcast/" to the image path url in the <itunes:image> tag in the xml file and updated the path to the xml file in feedburner, but I did not add the <itunes:new-feed-url> again. Do I need to do this to force the iTunes scripts to reread the whole file again? I thought that if the iTunes scripts are reading the feedburner file that they would pick up path changes to the image when they read the feedburner file. The location of the feedburner file has not changed. Only the location of the source xml and the image have changed. Feedburner is working right, and shows the image.

You have changed the image URL in the 'image' tag but you have not changed it in the 'itunes:image' tag, and that is what is applicable here.
iTunes is looking for an image at
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/89406141/MilanVineyardChurch.png
and not finding one there. When you have amended the tag with the new URL it will probably take some days before the image appears in the Store.
The new image is apparently at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/89406141/Podcast/MilanVineyardChurch_144.png - this is 144x144 which is inadvisably small for iTunes.
Although your episodes, which have Feedproxy URLs, are appearing OK, iTunes does not get on at all well with Dropbox and you might be advised to consider hosting your image on an ordinary web server. However, it's possible that it will work once you've amended things.

  • Items in iTunes Media folder won't display in iTunes

    Hi there
I just had to restore my Windows 7 PC. The iTunes Media folder has been located on an external drive (iTunes media folder location: G:\iTunes Media) and remained untouched. After restoring the PC and downloading iTunes (current version was on the computer before) I changed the iTunes Media location (in Advanced Preferences) again to G:\iTunes Media and logged in with my apple ID.
Thanks to iTunes Match, my Music is displayed in iTunes. However, all other files such as iTunesU data or iPhone and iPad Apps will not display in iTunes (although they are all right where they were before, in the indicated folder location).
Owing to a couple of print screens I took of my settings before the restore of the PC, I was able to set everything exactly the way it was in the Advanced tab of the Preferences window.
Thank you very much for any hints or advice.
    Simon

Do you only have media on the external (which by the way is not a "library" because it is lacking many parts of a complete library), or do you have a complete iTunes folder with library files and support folders (a true library)?
If only media and you have both drives connected you need consolidate/organize media from one drive to the other.  iTunes 12 for Mac: Change where your iTunes files are stored - http://support.apple.com/kb/PH19507 - more information at: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22026652#22026652 - and steps 5-8 in https://discussions.apple.com/message/24491967#24491967
If you have your entire library on the external drive, copy the iTunes folder from one drive to the other.  Start iTunes while holding down the option/alt key and select the relocated iTunes folder on the new drive.

  • IPod won't display in iTunes

Recently I started having problems with my iPod skipping songs - it would show the song, but skip right over it to the next song when I tried to play it. This didn't happen with all songs, but quite a few of them.
I used the restore in iTunes to rest my iPod, and now it won't show up in iTunes at all. I've tried all the suggestions on Apple's page - restarting my computer multiple times, re-installing iTunes multiple times, using the Windows Install Cleanup Utility, etc. It show up in Windows as a hard drive, and I know it's connected because it's charging. I even ran the iPod diagnostics in iTunes and it says everything's fine, but it still isn't displaying as a device in iTunes.
    Please help!

It may be a drive conflict:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93499
Or you may need to reformat your iPod in Windows. To do so right click on it in Windows, select disk management then format. Use FAT32 format and deselect quick format. After this restore it again in iTunes.

  • Content won't display in iTunes

So i have the new shuffle, and i have put about 80 songs on it and it works fine... BUT, when hooked up to iTunes, i wanted to check the contents of my new shuffle, maybe remove a couple of songs, but the content won't appear on the screen, although there are tracks on my shuffle.
I have done the restore, restart, etc. but still nothing. Therefore i have no problems putting tracks on my shuffle, but no way of removing tracks without having to restore factory settings and delete the lot.
    Help will be much appreciated.

  • Titles won't display in App Store on iPhone

While iTunes on my computer only cuts off the text on the brief page (still annoying, try downloading Khan Acadam.... out of thousands of videos) it does not cut off the title on the main page, BUT
not so on the iPhone. You can be on the description of software, and have no idea what it is. If the developer repeats it in the text (many times below the reviews they like to post) or in the screenshots, you'll know. Unfrotunately, it's otherwise luck until you download it.
I don't see why this hasn't been considered a problem, does Apple only plan on having a finite number of apps, such that this naming issue won't be an issue?
Also, I'd like to be able to hit "back" after going deep into my searches, and not have to scroll all the way back to where I was. This is prominent on the iPad after digging 30 pages into a search.
I also would like it if Apps not in my language don't clutter my results. I know more than one person that bought items in the wrong language since they assumed front page in America might not be italian.
    Fix it

    Try this workaround
    App Store>Purchased>Select "All"
Note: Look out for apps that have the word "Update"

  • Song name won't display in grid view

I have long had a problem whereby the song-name column was missing when viewing a single album from the grid view. There is an archived, unanswered question on the very same question here: http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1818126
I have never as yet found a conclusive answer to this problem, and I've watched several new versions of the software come and go with no fix.
Well, for the benefit of those still suffering that problem, I'm here to tell you today that I have a conclusive fix!
For those impatient among you, just do this: http://bit.ly/gf8P0m.
For everyone else, let me tell you unequivocally that it's NOT (directly) a problem with the software. It basically seems to be down to library corruption of some sort. I know it sounds strange that an entire column could go missing due to data, but I have proven it as follows:
I created a new test account on my Mac, opened up iTunes and started to import my music from my main account. After a few albums had imported, I cancelled the import and looked at the library - fine. Then, I completely uninstalled iTunes from my main account and reinstalled a fresh copy. This did not solve the problem, but it proved that even with fresh software, the problem persisted and the previous test showed that the software was fine with a fresh user.
So, next I tried to rebuild my library, and that's what worked. Basically, you need to delete your itunes library xml file and the (compiled?) itunes library file (.itl) BUT DO NOT delete the iTunes Music Library.xml file... this is the key to it all...... you're gonna use that file to import the whole library as a playlist so you're not starting from scratch.
Here's the instructions from Apple: http://bit.ly/gf8P0m
Hope this helps anyone that's still stuck with this problem.

Thanks! I have long had this problem, but before I do this... am I going to lose any data from my music library (ratings, playlists, play counts, custom artwork, etc.) if I follow these steps carefully? I have a large library and it won't be worth having to re-enter/lose a bunch of things just to retrieve this column.

  • Imported songs but won't  play on Itunes

Hi all. I recently bought a new Ipod and imported songs from it to my Itunes. As soon as I had imported them there is an exclamation mark next to each song. When I try to play it Itunes says that the song cannot be found. Anyone know why?
There on my Ipod and working but none work when imported.
If it makes a difference I imported by adding folder to library.
    Thanks.
    Scott

Are you saying you have music on an external drive and it won't play if the drive is not plugged in?
You are not very clear with your question, but I wonder if you tried to add them to your library on your internal drive. If so take a look at:
    Edit>Preferences>Advanced>General
Is "Copy files to Itunes Music folder when adding to library" checked? If not the songs would be left on the external drive.
If this is the case, you could plug in your external drive and then consolidate your library. This will copy ALL files not in your iTunes Music folder into the iTunes Music folder.
If you intentionally keep some of your music outside the iTunes Music folder you may want to think about the implications before using Consolidate.
