Songs Continuously Skip and Wrong Artwork

My 60g iPod is currently authorized on 2 computers. I recently moved my iTunes music folder from a 3rd computer that I deauthorized to another computer without any problems. Right after I did that, I noticed that the songs and artwork did not match up. A few days later, I connected it to the other computer and downloaded new podcasts. I did nothing to the songs on the iPod. Now, the new podcasts play perfectly, but all of the songs skip from one to the other and they also display the wrong artwork. I have no idea what I did wrong. Anyone else have this problem? Do I need to completely restore my iPod? Any help would be appreciated.

On the art issue remove all songs on iPod then put them all back on.

Delete the song from your library and re-download it from the Purchases section of the iTunes Store.

  • What causes double letters skips and wrong letters when typing

    Os 10.9.5
Tried a new keyboard and still get skips, double letters, and wrong letters non adjacent to the intended key.

Boot into Safe Mode, Mac OS X: Starting up in Safe Mode, and see if the problem persists there.  If not then reboot normally and try again.

  • Skipping songs and wrong artwork - Restore or reload to cure

I've had a 60G colour 4G for a few months now. So far on three occasions I've noticed that certain songs have the wrong album art (swapped with others in my collection) and some songs are just skipped over when playing.
Turning off 'display album art on iPod', re-syncing and then turning it back on and re-syncing, cures the artwork problem. But to cure the un-playable tracks problem, I have to remove all music and add it again. I've done this with (and without doing) a Restore.
Is this what other people have found with skipping tracks?
Has anyone else noticed the swapped artwork?
Better yet - why does this happen and how do I stop it?

  • ITunes 7 Songs are skipping and static like

I just installed itunes 7 and after I installed and opened it up and now every song that I go to play is skipping. I have tried many songs from my collection and they all are like this. Please help I have 3500+ songs and I do not have a backup copy of them.
    Thanks,
    -Rob

Have same problem. Apple borked itunes on win32. iTunes playback now is a single milisecond skipping. I have a creative EM-U 1212m card http://www.emu.com/support/ and Quicktime media/movies and iTunes audio/video now are borked.
Apple really has to get over the Hubris and do some quality testing and controll before they unleash this kind of crap to paying iPod customers. The FreeBSD team never ever releases this kind of untested garbage into stable releases. iTunes7 and the new QT should be BETA or perhaps ALPHA not released to the general public.

  • Wrong artwork with song after syncing.

I don't see an answer here and this problem is driving me insane. Ios5 took a big step backwards.

  • Replacement ipod skipping and pausing songs

    Hi,
I paid to have my replaced in january as I had smashed the screen and it was out of warranty but now the replacement continually skips and pauses songs and activates voice control while it is locked. According to apple this new ipod is not under warranty so i would have to pay to get it sent in for repair. I'm currently living in Austria where Apple stores aren't easily accessible so I can't just take it in...Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Does Apple provide a warranty on my replacement iPod?
If Apple provides service under warranty, the terms of the warranty and applicable provisions of law will cover defects in materials and workmanship that arise during the remaining warranty or 90 days after iPod service, whichever provides longer coverage for you. If iPod service is provided outside of warranty, Apple warrants that the replacement iPod will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 90 days from the replacement ship date.

  • Songs skipping and dragging...

I bought my first songs ever from iTunes yesterday and enjoyed playing an old album I used to listen to as a kid twice...
But today when I hit play again, all the songs are skipping and dragging like a old crackly record player or bad electrical connection (slow power?)....
What the heck? I thought buying digital didn't have problems like that.  I'm really upset I spent $10 on an album I got to listen to twice and now seems ruined.  Any ideas?

  • Songs are skipping when played on secondary hard drive

    Hey all,
I have a late-2011 Macbook Pro. I installed an SSD and then replaced my optical drive with my original HDD. I re-linked my iTunes media folder to be on the old drive. Everything in my library is playable, however songs are skipping and sometimes iTunes freezes completely. Any reason this would happen? Could it have something to do with spotlight indexing or is it a sign of something more serious? Just yesterday all of these songs were playing fine with the HDD as my primary.
    Thanks!

I am not familiar with the insides of a MBP but I am wondering if putting a HDD on a bus designed for an optical drive is what is causing the problem.

  • Songs that skip

I am having problems with some of my itunes library skipping.  I am fully updated with itunes, mac os, and ipod software.  I believe the problems stem from having of the files for song long, and transferring them from comp, to ipod, to new computer, to hard drive, back to new computer, etc.  I have a very large library, and it would take me a very long time to go through and identify each songs that skips and re-download it.  I was wondering if anyone knew of a faster way, a program perhaps, that can identify song files that have corrupted, at least partially....  The problem has gotten worse over time as i have transfered digital files from device to device in efforts to save my library from hardware problems.

You may want to check your soundcard output in QuickTime. See this post for directions on the process:

  • Songs are skipping on new ipod

I just bought a new ipod shuffle and all of my songs are skipping and breaking up. Some songs are bought from itunes and some are from CD's. Please help!!!!

Ok, I converted all the music in my itunes library to ACC format, then re-synced to ipod. I am still having the same problem with some songs. These cds/music were previously on my computer that had been imported through either real player or windows media player a while back, prior to having itunes.
I have heard that the cds need to be imported through itunes in ACC format. If you don't have the original cds anymore, you can re-burn them to a cd and then import again in itunes. Apparently it can't be music that has been previously put on your computer through real player, etc.
I haven't had time to try this yet so I'm not sure if it works. I will let you know!

  • Burned CD has songs that skip

I have burned two CDs from music purchased from iTunes. The songs play perfect from my library, but once I burn them to a CD and play them in my car or on my home stereo the songs have skips and jumps. Does anyone know how to fix this? What settings should I be using on my Windows XP? Or is it an itunes thing I need to fix?

Check the burn speed, if CDs are burnt too fast they sometimes skip or don't play at all. To be safe, choose a very slow burn speed and check to make sure the CD plays correctly. You can try slowly inching the speed back up again until you find that too fast line that your player can't handle. I use 12X myself--it takes a little longer to burn a CD but they work correctly when they're done.
To change your burn speed in itunes go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced Tab>Burning. Then use the pull down menu next to "preferred speed" to change the setting (is it at maximum possible right now?)

  • I had to reload all my programs after a  hard drive problem. Now certain songs are skipped over or only play for a sec or 2 then it jumps to next song. all songs played before. Some are Itune bought and some are my old music.

I had to wipe my hard drive clean and reload all my programs. After reloading Itunes, I noticed that some songs will not play, they are skipped over, or the songs plays for 1-2 secs then it skips on to next song. Any ideas what I did wrong? All songs played before and some of affected songs are bought, some are my old library I copied off of CDs

I had been thinking that the hard dri've is starting to fail on me but then I thought about the fact that, If I play an MP3 and the player freezes up or starts jumping through the mp3 file, Then I restart the player and start the same MP3 agian and this time it plays normally, Is it really a hard dri've problem?
Could be a lot of things unfortunately, from corrupt firmware, corrupt format on the disk, a problem with the mainboard, or a problem with the hard disk.
I figure that if the hard dri've was damaged it would always freeze up on the same file at the exact same point in the music wouldn't it's
Not necessarily. It could be just an intermittent fault.
I want to Format my Zen Touch and reload the Firmware to start from scratch, but I first want to backup my 28 GBs of MP3 and WMA files. However I noticed that when I transfer the files to my hard dri've, all the ID3 Information is gone. Now adding ID3 info to 28GB of files will take days!
Strange. Did you edit the tag data on the player? If so what happens is the tag data changes are made in the Music Library but not in the files themselves. There's only one way to write the changes back and this involves getting a copy of MediaSource 3. You then transfer the files back to the PC Music Library, and use an update function to update the files (the PC Music Library will have the same tag data as the Music Library on the player). One problem is that MediaSource 3 is very large, and not available from Creative as a download. I can try and get a copy to you if you can't find it elsewhere.

  • Why is iTunes Radio continuously skipping songs, I've tried all the suggestions I can find

iTunes Radio just continuously skips songs on all of my devices - Apple TV, iPad mini and iPad 2 and iPhone 6.  I've tried all the suggestions I've been able to find so far:
Recycling the power to my modem/router
signing in and out of iTunes and icloud
deleting both accounts and reading back
deleting my wifi home network and adding back
Any additional suggestions I can try?  I really like this feature?  I would hate to have to create a new Apple ID or something, I don't even know how my stuff would transfer from one ID to another.  Please help!
    Thank you in advance!!!!

OK - this fixed my problem of skipping 30-40 songs and playing the same ones over and over.
I moved and changed the address on a credit card associated to my Itunes account.  The credit card was still active, however the billing address was incorrect in my iTunes account.  Make sure your Itunes account billing and payment information is correct as the slightest error will cause everything to seem like it is working correctly, except iTunes Radio.
    My Fix:
In Itunes - enter Account - edit user information - edit payment method (update all information)
fixed problem on both of my two Apple TV devices

  • Artwork is correct for Itunes and wrong for the ipod!

All the artwork is wrong on my ipod! It's all correct on Itunes, though. I can't figure it out. For example, I pick a song by Madonna, and it shows artwork for the CD "Essential Big Bands"! BUT when I click the middle button twice on my iPod (to select the album cover view), the Artwork is correct on the large view on my ipod! But when I go back to the song title, it's wrong again. So it's the thumbnail pic on the ipod that's screwed up. Does anyone have any idea what happened and how to fix it?
    Thanks!
    Frank

Had the same problem with my 4th generation Nano. It seems it was a USB port issue. Once I put a high speed USB 2.0 port on my machine the problem seemed to go away. However, If I highlight tracks in iTunes and drag them to my iPod then, while the songs are loading, try and add more then I will get mis-matched cover art.
Best advise is make sure you have a high speed 2.0 port on your PC (You may need a powered USB port) and copy your music slowly to your iPod. Avoid adding 10 tracks by 10 different artists then dragging 4 more complete albums when the previous music hasn't compleltely loaded.
Yeah it's a pain! And I haven't quite figured out just how much music containing different artwork I can add at once. I just know it seems to happen less with complete albums, a high speed USB port, and not trying to add a lot of different music at once.
Hope that helped I know it's not much of a solution.
