Sony Mobile Indonesia: Bad Service Quality

Greetings to you all.
My name is Giovan Pangku from Indonesia, an owner of Sony Ericsson Xperia ray ST18i.
I am also a member of a facebook group, "Xperia Community", a group where we share everything about Xperia devices.
On this thread, I'm going to explain about a petition that I made on 10 June 2013, for Xperia users in Indonesia, regarding the bad repair service quality. I'll just make this thread short and simple.
The petition was made because I read comments from members, complaining about the long time that Sony Mobile Indonesia takes to repair their devices (starting from 2 weeks, until more than 4 months), or devices that got broken again after a repair (or in several cases, more than once).  Their reason was the delay in importation of spare parts.
The Manager of Customer Service of Sony Mobile Indonesia, Mr. Roi Permadi, contacted me several times by email, explaining things regarding the delay. I could understand at first.
But it's already February 2014 now without much significant improvement. I also already contacted someone from Sony Mobile Sweden, assuming that Sweden is the headquarter for Sony Mobile (I know Sony is from Japan), and that someone contacted Mr. Roi Permadi to contact me again, and it was no use. So I wonder if Sony Mobile International can help us address this issue?  Does Sony Mobile Indonesia always run out of spareparts?  How can we, as customers, wait for months just for phone repair? Does this mean that Sony Mobile is not ready to serve its customers in Indonesia?
More about the petition is here:
https://www.change.org/en-AU/petitions/sony-mobile-indonesia-must-change-their-disappointing-repair-...
Currently, more than 2200 Xperia users in Indonesia have signed it.
So please, Sony, don't let us be disappointed in Indonesia.
Regards,
Giovan Pangku

    To Whom it May Concern:
I believe I am not the first one to post on this subject, but fact of the matter is that Sony Mobile in Indonesia needs to improve their aftersales and customer service protocols immediately.
Throughout my 18 years of using Sony/Sony Ericsson/Ericsson mobile phones I have always been on the "satisfactory" side in terms of product reliability, features, value, and even customer support. That is, until I experienced the ridiculous "run around" that is Sony Mobile Senayan City, Jakarta. My phone (a SK17i), was admitted into service on 20 November 2013. A week later I received a call from them notifying that the flex cable needs replacement (would be the 2nd replacement in one year time) and repair will be done in a matter of days. So I approved it.
A week later I tried giving them a call at +62-21-72781557 (someone actually picked it up) to ask about my phone's repair status. They put me on hold for about 5 minutes, after which they told me that the touch screen also needed replacement (again, the 2nd similar replacement within the year). I gave the approval, but left a remark that they should give proper advanced notification next time.
Anyways, to make long story short, from 01 December to this day (02 February 2014) and after numerous visits to the shop and phonecalls I am still uncertain of what's happening with my phone. Is it still in service? Waiting for parts? Parts unavailable? Unrepairable? Is it lost somewhere between Senayan City and Sony Mobile Authorized Service Center? Why would Sony Mobile let their customers (a loyal one, in this case) go into such trouble? Why isn't anyone being proactive about this? How much longer should I wait? Is my phone so obsolete or outdated that it deserves no priority? Bear in mind that I had given generous amount of time and patience, but frankly speaking 74 days is quite a stretch (my previous experience with them took no more than 14 days, mind you). Even airplane engines get repaired in less than 60 days. It's a simple matter of quality control, which evidently in this case does not exist.
It's obvious that after receiving so many complaints and feedbacks Sony Mobile Indonesia still have not done any improvement. You can look up for yourselves by searching this support forum and enter keyword "Jakarta" and several posts on Sony Mobile Senayan City should come up. Or Google "Sony Mobile Senayan City" and you will find some useful info there also.
As you can see, these remarks are valid and have reached the point where concerns have been brought into a petition with over 2,000 supporters (that accounts for what percentage of your total users here in Indonesia?). Please don't let me lose faith in your brand, and more importantly don't let something like this compromise Sony's excellent brand standing and recognition in the country.
For your strong acknowledgement and action, I thank you beforehand.
P.S.: I think it would be good to have a separate section in the forum specifically for Customer Services.

Halo, gan. Please find a thread that I started in "Other Discussions General" about a petition I made regarding Sony Mobile Indonesia on its bad service quality.

  • Services quality by for mobile users

    Hello Guys
I would like to share my feedback in the response to the problem faced by me with my Z1 mobile.
My mobile is under warranty period and it got problem with the display screen and I went to the support office of the care center and the response was very very very bad.
What they said was unprofessional and unethical as per the product and service provider of any mobile company.
I have changed my view for sony mobile after their response and I will suggest everyone not to buy any sony mobile in future.

  • Sony mobile warranty support feedback

I need to share with you that recently my phone went back from warranty repair.
And I need to say I can see a huge upgrade in terms of the service and customer support.
Everything went well and the most important - very fast!
As I remember from the past it was about a month or even 2 before my phone went back in the past (first Z model).
Now it was like 1 week + everything was fixed!
    Incredible upgrade.
Thank you Sony service center Poland in Wroclaw.
I can see Sony is doing much better in terms of software (except timing here, but quality is better) and service support.
Even first Z is receiving Android 5. Z series is receiving overall a good treatment, well deserved.
For sure I will stick with this brand because of it, can't wait for new curved camera
Once again, thanks a lot Sony mobile.

Glad to hear it, I wish you luck for the future

  • Re: Complaint Against SONY MOBILES INDIA

I have bought Sony Xperia Z1 in Feb 2014 from Mobile World, Mumbai. It had the IMEI No.
But due to some problems the same has got replaced in warranty period in somewhere around end of July 2014 or start of August 2014. So I got a new set having IMEI NO.
I faced some more problems with my phone and I submitted my phone (to Nehal Techno Services, Ajmer) on 24th March 2015 and got the device back on 7th April 2015, The Job No. is B1W115031901379.
Then again I faced some more problems with my phone and I got my phone serviced by Best Techno services, Jaipur on 20th June 2015. The Job No. is W115062001922.
But now I was still facing some problems which were fixed in Job No. B1W115031901379 (The USB Cap is loose again and not being closed properly) and in Job No. W115062001922 (While talking on the phone the receiver is not getting my voice properly, there is some issue with microphone.)
As both those issue are covered in the 90 days service bill warranty of Job No. B1W115031901379 and Job No. W115062001922. So I submitted my phone as per the instructions of Xperia Customer Care executive. And got a new Job ID- W115062703704 on 27 June 2015.
But The Sony Service centre rejected the Job saying they will not fix it free of charge without the original Bill even though the claim of free repairs is against the Service Bill warranty (not the Phone Warranty).
I again talked to the Xperia Customer Care executive and he suggested to email this issue to you.
Even though when I replaced my Phone in warranty period, I gave a copy of the bill to the Sony Service centre(Nehal Techno Services, Ajmer), they said that they don’t have the copy. However they keep a scan copy of bill and upload it with the Job sheet to keep control of the same. But when I asked about this, they said they don’t have any copy of the bill.
I misplaced my original bill but as my phone is already out of warranty so that should not be any issue now.
And now that my Phone was replaced in warranty period so I got new Bill of the Phone as the New IMEI has been given to me with the replaced Phone. They have record of the same.
My concern is that I should be given free service for the Problems which they fix in previous service Jobs of which 90 days is not yet lapsed. But the service centre is denying and saying that without the Bill they will not provide free service. Even when(I am Quoting again) the claim of free repairs is against the Service Bill warranty (not the Phone Warranty).
Dear Sir, I have been using Sony Products for last 7 years. And I love Sony Products because of the quality and customer service. But this kind of behavior will just kill my aspirations to use sony products in near future. I got my phone repaired through Sony Service centre only so I can get service satisfaction but this incident is making me nervous of using sony service.
Dear Sir , Please look into this matter and please resolve this issue and please provide me free service for this product.

I am not sure if Sony staff reads this or not OR if this forum is country specific. Even if they do, its just a forum so each and every thread doesnt get response. Your issue needs to be raised with Sony India or may be there are consumer associations in India that can help you.

  • Disgusted with Sony Mobile phone support

Hi. I was thinking of getting either the Xperia M2 Aqua or the Z3 Compact. My main concerns are:
    1. Asking for the Android version
The lady on the other end of the line albeit being polite says its "4.4" and that is what her "system is telling" her. This is itself is very inaccurate as there are other Kitkat versions of phones such as 4.4.1 / .2 / .3 / .4? Being on a Customer Support Line and working for Sony Mobile she should be more aware of the different versions and she should have asked a 2nd-line tech support person which she failed to do so.
    2. Known camera issue with the Z3 Compact
Issues such as the overall screen & photo quality being more of the "cooler" side (with pictures seemingly less natural, less sharp, less contrast), slow camera speeds, an "overwhelming" LED flash during night shots are all well documented on very well-known websites such as GSMArena. There seem to be a not-so polished, confusing, & low-quality camera software and an update is needed. The lady kept saying that in her own experiencre she did not encounter these issues. She refused to recognise the issues i have mentioned based on what i have read & seen from this very well-known tech websites as it was pretty much useless to base my opinions on phones in stores as the phones will either be on demo mode, are turned off, software is not updated, camera is covered by the phone holder, phone not connected to a wifi or there are no media files to try out. 5 out 5 times i went to O2, Vodafone, Three and Carphone warehouse stores this has been the case.
I have told the lady to at least make a note of my opinions, comments, complaints & suggestions and to forward it to the relevant people in Sony Mobile which she says she will be doing.
    3. Lollipop timeline
The phones i have mentioned have been out for months now. Lollipop has been out since November. Google themselves said that 1. they have made a way to make sure the Lollipop SDK or API gets to the OEMs (such as Sony)  in order for updates to hapen in an early manner and 2. Google stated that they would like to see updates to the latest Android version would not exceed 6 months which in my opinion is very late. The time a new Android version comes out there should be a "limit"of 3-4 months to update current-gen, flasgship phones and 6 months for the mid-range ones. So with those facts in front of us...why still no Lollipop timeline update?
The bottom line is your profits are slowing down and Sony is cutting on jobs. For people to like Sony phones again you must take in these opinions, comments, complaints & suggestions from us users, incorporate them on current & future software and hardware products coupled with timely and early and "as often" software updates then this would be a better world. I have had Android phones for the past 4 years and although not having a computer degree i think i know pretty much how phones work, etc.
Dear Sony...IMPROVE your customer service over phone (include a chat service please), LISTEN  to end-user complaints & suggestions, UPDATE in a realistic/timely/early manner and BE UP TO DATE to market and consumer trends.
    SORT YOURSELEVES OUT!

I have noticed two known bugs & issues in my Xperia Z2:
    1. Alam Clock
This alam clock bug appeared in my Z1 weeks ago and my current Moto G (4G) phone. When my phone is on Silent mode I set the alam clock to ring even on silent. When the alarm goes off in the morning its either i don't see a slider to cancel the alarm or it rings but i have to go to the alam clock settings and go to delete alams and the alarm stops which is 2-3 steps more than the slider. I had to resort to a 3rd-party alarm clock which helps but prefer the 1st-party one. Can anyone explain this?
    2. Charging
This issue again is not confined to the Z2 but also to my Moto G and my Nexus 5 which i had weeks ago. Charging the phone, regardsless of how many percent left is on the battery, it causes the screen to go "haywire". What i mean is the screen is almost unusable to the point that multiple tasks are being done at the same time i.e. opening Messages, pulling down the Notification panel, going to Album, etc. I have seen videos on Youtube and i'm not sure if Sony is aware of this. Any advice?
    3. Performance
I cannot fault the performance of the Z2. But i'm not the type who do benchmarking tests, etc. I still find sometimes some lag and is a tad slower than my Nexus 5 which has a slightly the same specs. I have speeded up the animations speed under Developer Options but i don't know what else to do.
I also do not believe that by resetting the phone these so-called bugs will go away as this seem to be a "default" advice whenever you ring customer support. I have reset the phone twice and they are still there.
    Please advice & help. Thanks.

  • Bad overall quality

    Hello,
In the last few years, Nokia dramatically decreased the quality of its products. I know of 4 people that bought a Nokia phone in the last 18 months, all of them had to be returned already in the warranty period:
Two Nokia 6110 Navigators: one had a micophone that didnt work anymore overnight, the second was unable to chrge after a few months and the camera wasnt working anymore (screws had to be tightened to fix the camera). On Nokia 6110 Navigator, you also notice the bad building-quality, as you can move the slider, even while closed, at about 2 millimeters, on both phones in same direction. (from beginning!) A known issue.
Thrid phone: a Nokia 3120classic, bought 3 months ago, now speaker not working anymore, phone did never fall down.
Fourth phone: a Nokia 6220classic: tried a firmwareupdate and crashed during the update, had to be returned to Nokia Service Center. curently Nokia is investigating these problems with 6220classic and N82.
Besides the bad quality of the hardware, the firmware/software also got so many bugs. On Nokia 6110 Navigator there are so many known bugs, at the beginning (for a whole year!) there were so many obvious bugs (even the daily alarm-clock didnt work correctly!) that we have to wonder whether this phone was ever tested by anyone at Nokia. Nowadays we got used to the remaining bugs, that are also partly in 6210 Navigator and a few of them are all on Symbian-OS60-Phones. As there are tons of bugs on 6220classic too, if you try to update your phone, it is a really big "chance" to get a broken phone.
Great thing, isn't it? The bad quality keeps ongoing on the new products, if you read some reviews of the newest Nokia phones. No wonder, as phones that are soon 2 years old, still got so many (partly obvious) bugs, how could a new phone work the way it should? And the hardwarequality rarely improves if you build the phones in countries in cheaper, eastern countries...

Quoting: mccbleues answer to something i didnt mention:
The old "I never allowed my phone to get wet" story is very, very tired. All Nokia phones have a label inside (in some models, it is visible in the battery compartment, in others it is completely insude) which changes colour when exposed to sufficient watre to cause damage to the phone. No warranty repair rejected for water damage is a guess, it is a water-tight case with strong evidence against the owner.
As for dust getting in, this again comesdown to the phone being somewhere where there is a lot of dust. It has to come from sowmewhere, I and stand by my statement that these modern phones are sophisitcated devices not Fisher-Price toys, if a phone is left fumbling around in a pocket or handbag, or accompanying its owner in a dirty environment, it is susceptible to problems.
Answer from me: Sorry, but do you read what I have written? Obviously not, as all of the phones got repaired for free during warrantyperiod, as Nokia saw that for example there was nothing broken due to water getting inside or dust, or whatever, all had defects caused by bad quality or assembling. Anyway, the problems were not at all related to this kind of things, and I simply mentioned that the phones were always kept in save places, to show you, that it WAS not the customers fault. All 5 phones got therefore repaired for free. I am not complaing about their reparation, because that is OK, Nokia service centers are doing a good job.
The fact is, that I wonder how this can happen, and about the quality of the phones from the beginning on, so i notice a very high number of phones getting broken just due to bad quality of hardware or other technical problems that occur. Even if you might purchse the phone, and only leave the phone turned on and charge every time the battery gets low, without touching it or using it, it might get broken. The Nokia 6110 Navigator that got broken over night (microphone) while lying on a table at around 20degree celsius is such an example. How can this happen? I thought it was impossible to happen, but it happened.
This is definitily a result of bad quality, and not of customers usage-behaviour.

  • Closure of BT Mobile Pre-Pay service on 21 March 2...

I've just read the announcement of the Closure of the BT Mobile Pre-Pay service.
Whilst I understand the reasons behind this, I do still keep my dongle with me for emergency use when there's no wifi available.
My Pre-Pay account currently has £96.29 credit - which, according to the announcement, will not be refunded!
There's no way that I'm going to use this credit to the service been closed on 21st March.  Can the credit be transferred to my main BT Bill?
    Andy.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delay in providing some clarification on the question raised here.  I have spoken with team involved in the closure of prepay mobile to find out if there is any way to transfer or refund any remaining credit that you have left on your dongle, after the closure of the service. , I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the answer is no.
Since we ended the sale of the BT Mobile Broadband Dongle on 27 September 2013, customers have been informed through messaging on their Mobile Pre-pay accounts on bt.com, the automated telephone service and Connection Manager that we are intending to close the Mobile pre-pay service on 21 March 2014. If a customer has any unspent credit after this date they will not be refunded.  We feel that this is sufficient notice for customers to spend any credit they have on the dongle.  I am very sorry that this has not been enough time for you to spend this credit but unfortunately if it is not used then it will be lost.
    Cheers

  • Extra for mobile hot spot service ?

Just so many people who may be on the fence about choosing Verizon be aware that the Loyalty 2 gig plan does not include mobile hot spot service.
We were never told that. We were sold that plan because we were told that was the best plan available and was only for long time customers like us.
I kept trying to figure out why every time my wife or I tried to access our hot spot feature it said to call verizon. So, I did. Some one there said I can help you and they said it would be taken care of. They just had to do something on their end to turn it on.  After a week it still did not work. I called and was told I had to pay extra for that service. Verizon has been bleeding me monthly ever seen Verizon began and this kind of service is so typical. After spending thousands of dollars over many years they have never shown an ounce of good will.  My advice is to choose a company that wants to be your service provider and that is not Verizon. We were sold a bad bill of goods and Verizon will not account for it.

It is an individual line.  $50 total, before fees and tax and warranty.
This is different than some of the extra features like hotspot and 25GB cloud space (I get 5GB) that More Everything plans have.
So, instead of $40 line and $60 for 2GB or $50 for 1GB, it's an individual plan with no line charge essentially.

  • Looking for help - Company is going to Mobile Asset Management service that does not support BB - especially BB 10.

    Hello,
I am looking for ideas/help. I currently have a BB Z10 (10.1.0.2039) with Verizon Wireless.  The company has a BB Enterprise Server for older devices (I previously was on that).  I bought a Z10 several months ago and have been connecting to the corporate network through Lotus Traveler. They do not have and will not implement a BB 10 Enterprise Server. Some in IT informed that if the company used the BB software they could manage all devices..... not accepted.
All my contacts, calendar, and company email is funneled to the BB Hub.....
So my company is implementing a Mobile Asset Management Service that I have to sign up for (Airwatch?).  They only support Android and IPhone.
Will future versions of the BB OS support Android Apps.... Soon (I have less than 2 weeks)
I have read where it is possible to put the device in development mode to run Android Apps.  I don't know if that will work with this and have no idea how stable the phone is in that mode. I travel internationally so I don't know how a development mode would work overseas. Any thoughts?
I like my Z10 but will need to switch to keep functionality if I can't find a work around
    Any assistance ????
    Thanks for any help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
BB10 devices have the ability to run .apk apps via special methods. Development Mode is used only for installing the app...not for normal operation. So you install (side-load) the app in Development Mode, then go back to normal mode for normal operations.
If a .bar file for the .apk app already exists somewhere, you can side load it to the BB10 device and see if it works or not. If there is not yet any .bar file, there is an app called SideSwype that can convert many .apk apps to .bar and install it to your device.
    Good luck!

  • Cannot enable "Apple Mobile Device" in Services for Windows 7 64-bit. Please Help!

    Hi,
First post here, but I've been trying to figure out a solution towards iTunes opening my iPhone 4 so I can sync it. But every time I sync it, it gives me a message saying "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started".
To try and resolve this, I tried the enabling "Apple Mobile Device" in services method, but when I try to start the service again, I get yet another message from Windows saying "The Apple Mobile Device service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs".
At a first glance, I thought I needed iTunes to be running my iPhone whilst I try to turn the service on, but all I get is the same message saying "The Apple Mobile Device service on Local Computer......", either if the device is connected and attempting to run or not.
This problem appeared out of nowhere when I plugged it in, just to sync some songs and pictures to it. So I don't know what's causing this issue!
And yes, I uninstalled iTunes 10.4.1 and Apple Mobile Device and then reinstalled them. But the issue still continued. Grrr......
It has lasted a stressful 3 days now and if anyone knows a solution or can find one, please let me know as soon as possible.
    Many thanks,
    Martin.
