Sorry, an error has occurred, Installer file is damaged

I have been trying to download and install the trial creative suite and this is the error I continue to get even after I have downloaded 3 new files, deleted them and tried again.  I have the OSX version 10.8.2.  I have even tried downloanding the Creative suite web premium, the basic and master collection and continue to get the same error.  Every file version cannot be broken.  That is just completely impossible.  Please help

hi everyone, i am using a bat file to package an air file ,
this application runs on windows 7 32 bit,
it need to call another windows application , so i google and then find i need to add -target native when package , so i added.
the bat file is like below:
    ========================================

    if errorlevel 1 goto failed
    echo.

    echo.
    goto end

    echo.
    echo Troubleshotting:

    echo.
    goto end
    :failed
    echo AIR setup creation FAILED.
    echo.
    echo Troubleshotting:
echo did you configure the Flex SDK path in this Batch file?
    echo.
    :end
    pause
    ======================================================
after run this bat , the air file is successfully built , but when i want to install this air , it says "sorry ,an error has occured .....  bla bla installer file is damaged....bla bla "
but when i remove the red part -target native  in the command above then run it again , the new packaged air file can install successfully, but the application can not call other windows apllication anymore, nativeprocess.issupported always returns false when running
so seems like the problem is all about -target native , deos anyone know whats wrong ?
this problem really bothers me long time , any help will be appreciated. thanks in advance!

Nice! I swear I tried that URL (substituting "mac" for "win" and "MAC" for "WIN" in the one relaxatraja posted), but I guess I missed something.
Ironically, it doesn't include a binary either, but a simple alias works:
    alias pfi='java -jar /path/to/PFI/lib/pfi.jar'
And it did indeed produce an ipa without error. I don't have my hardware with me, but I'll be able to test it tonight. Meanwhile, I think I'm in business. Thank you all!

  • "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged

    Hello-
I have an air application that is distributed via CDROM, the app is signed by a code signing certificate and timestamped. In mid-August when my certicate expired my users started calling stating that they couldn't install our product due to the following error: "Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author." From my understanding a timestamped application is taken at a point in time when it's generated so why would it matter if the certificate was still valid? I have since replaced the certificate and will need to redistribute to my (thousands of) users however when I test it out using a future date and time the same error occurs. Any information to help resolve this would be grately appreciated.

    my command:
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>adl
    application.xml
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>adt
    -certificate -cn HelloW
    orld 1024-RSA certHelloWorld.pfx password
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>adt
    -package -storetype pkc
    s12 -keystore certHelloWorld.pfx HelloWorld.air
    application.xml HelloWorld.html
    password: password
    C:\Users\HOME USE\Desktop\AIR Development\HelloWorld>
And here is another link to download my code
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JS3X2IVC
    Thank you.

  • I keep getting:"Sorry, an error has occured."

I have Windows 7 (32 bit) installed on my Dell Laptop.
Here's the error I keep getting:
    Market Samurai
    Sorry, an error has occured.
The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.
    A little bit of history
I bought the software last year and it worked perfectly fine.  Then there was a new update for Market Samurai and it never worked since on this computer.  I’ve tried it on other computers and it works fine.
Here’s the last support message I got from Market Samurai
    “Hi Andre,
Unfortunately I don't have good news...
The developers cannot think of anything we haven't already tried, and they too are unable to find any information about this issue - it has us all stumped!
Do you have another computer you can install Market Samurai on? Or could you do a fresh install of Windows on your computer? I know it sounds drastic, but in cases like this the easiest (and sometimes only) solution is to try a fresh install of Windows.
If you want to continue to try debugging this issue, you can ask for help on the Adobe forums, as their support staff patrol the forums and answer questions that users may have: http://forums.adobe.com/community/air/installation
I wish I could be of more help but this is an issue that neither I, or anyone else at Noble Samurai, seem to have an answer for.
I'm sorry that I was unable to help you get it to install. I'm more than happy to keep working with you on this if you have any luck with Adobe support, but I'm all out of ideas as to where to go next.
    Regards,
    Tom"

Here’s some conversation with Market Samurai's support and steps of what I’ve done so far:
Ok, I just tried every step detailed in your e-mail below
"It appears there is a corrupt or damaged file that is preventing the install from happening.
First, uninstall both Market Samurai and Adobe AIR using the Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs" area (in XP) or "Uninstall a Program" (Vista and Win7)
Then go to http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall/en-us to run "Microsoft Fix-It", which is designed to clean up problems which can get in the way of uninstalling and reinstalling software.
As an alternative, download and install "Revo Uninstaller" which is available on a free 30-day trial from http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html - this should help you remove any traces of Adobe AIR from your system which may be hanging around and blocking a proper reinstall.
Perform a search on your hard drive for all files that end in ".air" - delete these, as your computer may be caching the corrupt file, preventing you from downloading a new copy of the file (here's an illustration of how to find the Search feature http://goo.gl/q0inI on all versions of Windows)
Be sure to check that there are no AIR (files with the extension .air) in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ - delete any you find.
Download the Market Samurai AIR file again from your personalized download page linked below - use the link under option 2, Manual install - and try reinstalling again."
I did the advanced remove with the revo, uninstalled adobe air and market samurai, conducted a search on my pc for .air and made sure to delete everything, plus did a restart. And I still get the same error.
Here’s more steps that I’ve taken
    "Hi Andre,
    Let's check/try a couple of other things...
#1: Your user account may have restricted access on your computer.
The most common cause is that you are using a restricted access account on your computer - and the restrictions on your account are affecting the installation of Market Samurai.
You can find detailed instructions on checking and adjusting this here: http://goo.gl/L7sHB
After this, try installing Market Samurai again.
#2: The User Account Control (UAC) may be turned off
(this will affect only users with Windows Vista or Windows 7)
This can be checked by going to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "User Accounts". From there, open UAC and make sure it's enabled. (On Windows Vista it's a simple checkbox; on Windows 7, the slider can be set anywhere except the bottom-most setting)
More detailed instructions are available -
    Windows Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Turn-User-Account-Control-on-or-off
    Windows 7: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/975787
    Then retry the installation.
Let me know how it goes."
    My reply
Negative sir, I've tried the steps above and still no success. My account is already operating as an administrator then I clicked on "change user account control settings" (I have windows 7) and changed the setting from default to "never notify and still no success.
I've changed the User Account Settings from Default to Always Notify me (which is the opposite of last time), tried reinstalling the software (market samurai) and I still get the same error. So I proceeded with the manual install of adobe air which was ok then I tried the new information that you've given me (for the other product) above and I get the same error.  Oh yeah, and I've also tried running the "Fix it" from Windows and no success.
It seems that I can’t install any of the Market Samurai nor the Domain Name Samurai from this publisher.  Yet I have the Livescibe Pen which is working fine.
Do you have any other solutions other than trying to reinstall windows?
    Thanks, André

As you can see below, when I right click, I have no such option.  In the User Account Settings, I'm operating as the "System Administrator".
    Any other suggestions?

  • Plugin install problem - Sorry, an error has occured

    Hi,
We are having problem's with our QuickTime plugin code. We are using the object and embeded tag and are using the following url http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab for the codebase attribute. We are redirected to this url, http://wsidecar.apple.com/cgi-bin/qtc/nph-QuickTime.hqx and the only thing that happens here is that we get a the following error:
Sorry, an error has occured. Please try again
    redx1
Go back to the form page.
Anybody else experiencing this problem recently?
      Windows XP   Internet Explorer

If you are trying to install Itunes for Windows and it dies with the -3 error when trying to install QuickTime, here is your fix. You will have to edit the registry so follow this carefully and back up the registry before changing it, just in case.
    1. Do a Start,Run, and type in regedit then OK.
    (This opens the registry file.
    2. Navigate to HKeyClassesRoot\Installer\Products
    3. Right click on Products and use the "find" command in regedit and search for QuickTime.
    4. Delete the part of the Products Tree Key that you find.
    Mine was located here:
    HKEYCLASSESROOT\Installer\Products\6E804929562D471408F5181D9D412E4A
    5. You will now be able to install QuickTime and Itunes without getting the -3 error.
Use caution when editing the registry which should not be attempted unless you are beyond a neophyte computer user.
I tried everything under the sun, when I had this same problem until I hit upon this fix.

I am unable to install the LCCS "SDK Navigator Application" from the LCCS Developer portal. When I try to run the AIR installer, I get the following error message:

  • I'm getting a pop up box saying "Sorry, an error has occured. You have exceeded your storage quota".

I'm getting a pop up box saying "Sorry, an error has occured. You have exceeded your storage quota" but I'm only at 2GB out of 20GB. Everytime I try to upload more photos I get this pop up. I'm not uploading any big files. I can't even upload 1 file under 1GB. Is there something I can do to fix this issue or is it a Creative Cloud technical issue.

  • Sorry, an error has occurred??? Help!

When trying to download the AIR update I get this message: This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance. What can I do to correct this?
    Thanks

See this Adobe AIR troubleshooting document:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403150.html
    specifically, the section
Installing an Adobe AIR application displays the error message: "Sorry an error has occurred. The application could not be installed. Try installing it again. If the problem persists, contact the application author." (Windows Vista / Windows 7)
This error can occur during installation if a standard or restricted user has turned off User Account Control (UAC) in Windows 7 or Window Vista. From Control Panel, Open UAC and enable it. A restart could be required. Once complete, retry the installation.

  • Sorry, an error has occurred. Adobe Air not available

I have tried to install this on two Mac machines and have been unable to do so. I get the same error message on both machines as follows:
              Sorry, an error has occurred.
This application requires an update to Adobe AIR that is not available for your system.
Please view the system requirements for Adobe AIR and update your system accordingly.
Both computers meet and exceed by a wide margin the system requirements (e.g., Mac OS 10.6.3, i7 processor, 8 gigs RAM). Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Brian

I was able to get around this by uninstalling AIR 2.02
Removing all Air info in the AppData C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming
    as well as C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Local
I blew away everything Air related basically
Make sure to make a back up if you think you have some data that needs keeping.
    I then reinstalled AIR 2.0.2
and walla my apps are back.
seems like an issue old appdata.  Not sure what specifically.

  • PSE 8 - How do I fix the error message: An error has occurred reading files or writing to disk...?

    Hello
I am using Photoshop Elements 8 on Windows 7 (64 bit). I have all my photos stored on an external hard drive connected by usb. The photos were transferred onto the HDD from a Windows XP machine. I bought a new computer  so I installed Photoshop 8 and imported all my photos to the organiser from the HDD. I have also taken some photos yesterday which I have uploaded to the HDD.
Now, when I want to delete a photo I check the box to say I want it to be deleted on the hard disk and I get the error message: 'An error has occured while reading files or writing files to disc. The disc may be full or there may bea problem with the source media.' This does not happen with the photos I uploaded yesterday, only the ones which were put onto the HDD from the XP machine.
Please could someone help? I have tried the File>Catalog> repair and optimise functions. I have reinstalled the software. It still does the same.
    Thank you in advance
    Dave

    David GW wrote:
The error message goes on to say, Please check your device settings or consult your device documentation regarding resolving writing errors. Which device do you think they are referring to?
Sorry, but I would have thought that this was rather obvious! The only device capable of being written to under these circumstances is your CD drive; after all, it's a CD you are trying to create...
You have two potential major causes of problems here. The most common cause of these difficulties is the disks themselves - you only need a batch with poor reflectivity to cause all sorts of read errors, so that's the first thing to try - using a different brand of disk to write to. The second thing you have to realise is that CD writers have a finite life - the lasers in them simply don't last for ever, and towards the end of their lives the power behaviour tends to be a bit erratic, and it tends to fall off somewhat - which causes the same sorts of errors, simply because the dye doesn't get evaporated efficiently. This causes mis-formed pits, hence the read errors. The only solution here is to install a new drive.
When it comes to reading, commercial CDs have a much higher reflectivity than ones you write yourself, so often these will play whilst your own will fail - a common cause of confusion, this. But it's worth checking; if you get failures to reproduce all of the tracks from a commercial pressed CD, then almost certainly your drive is failing.

  • An unknown error has occured - opening file

Hi, I'm trying to open a few different AI files that I created and saved a few days ago. They are both giving me an "an uknown error has occurred" message and won't let me open them. I've tried restarting and updating illustrator. Any ideas what is wrong? Thanks.

    cskdr,
It the issue is limited to specific files:
One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way (remember to tick Paste remembers Layers in the Layer palette flyout/dropdown first, and to untick it afterwards).
Here are some websites where you can see whether it can rescue the file, and if it can, you may pay for a subscription to have it done,
    http://www.recoverytoolbox.com/buy_illustrator.html
    http://markzware.com/adobe-software/fix-illustrator-file-unknown-error-occurred-pdf2dtp-fi le-recovery/
    http://www.illustrator.fixtoolbox.com/
As far as I remember, the first one is for Win and the one is for Mac, while the third one should be for both.
Here are a few pages about struggling with it yourself:

If the issue applies to all files:
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • "Sorry, an error has occurred... Installation may not be allowed by your administrator"

Hello everyone.  I am getting the above message when trying to install Adobe AIR.  Here is more information on the issue:
    1) I used to have it installed fine, but when I uninstalled it something must have broken because I cannot now reinstall.
    2) I am running Windows 7.
Here is the output of the .airinstall.log file that is created when I try to install:
    "Performing runtime install

Here are things I have done to try to fix the problem, to no avail:
    1) Uninstalled
    2) Used Windows Installer Cleanup
    3) Used a registry cleaner to remove all traces of Adobe AIR
    4) Tried installing in safe mode
    5) Installed with administrator privileges
    6) Scoured the internet for advice
I think the problem may lie in a missing DLL or something, as when I uninstalled Adobe AIR last time it was a little messy and I think I may have removed a necessary DLL.  I can't imagine that this would really be a problem, though.
If anyone has advice, it would be VERY much appreciated.

    Hi,
I'm sorry you've run into this problem. It appears you've attempted many of the approaches I would have taken, but I have a few more that you might want to try out.
The following messages may appear during installation or uninstallation of the AIR runtime:
"An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your Administrator. Please contact your administrator."
"An error occurred while uninstalling Adobe AIR. Uninstallation may not be allowed by your Administrator. Please contact your administrator."
To troubleshoot these issues, try performing the the following steps in this order:
The Logitech Video driver (LVPrcSrv.exe) is known to cause issues with the installation of the runtime. If the application is loaded, end the process by selecting it from the Windows Task Manager.
Verify that your windows has the latest latest Windows Service Packs and updates are installed on the system. These include updates for Windows Installer.
Windows Installer may be damaged or unregistered. The following Microsoft TechNote articles describe how to address:
Microsoft Knowledge Base: The Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed" error message when you install a program in Windows XP
Microsoft Knowledge Base: Error message when you try to add or remove a program on a computer that is running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003: 'The Windows Installer service could not be accessed'
Microsoft Knowledge Base: 'The Windows Installer service could not be accessed' error message when you try to install Office
Microsoft for Windows Installer update/hotfix. There was an issue with Microsoft Windows Installer that affected AIR installations.http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?familyid=5A58B56F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F 9F4&displaylang=en
Hopefully this helps. Please let us know how it works out.
