Sorting Pick Transfer Orders

Dear colleagues,
I am running across the following and would like to hear your thoughts.
My the movement type of my outbound Transfer Orders is linked to a Sort profile for TO splitting that uses field REIHF (sort field of the bin) as the first criteria.
Now, we are playing with the thought of modifying this: IF the same material will be picked from two or more locations, I want them to be picked together, i.e. the regular sorting by REIHF should be abandoned. After this, the regular sorting should apply again.
User exit sounds like the most probable answer, but I am hoping for some kind of creative solution without custom code. Would like to hear from you guys.
Thank you for your time,
Sandeep

Hi ,
If Warehouse Management is incorporated then to do the Picking request you have to create aTransfer order where picking is carried overa nd confirmation the transfer order .
Tables used for Transfer order - LTAK ,LTAP.
When you have deliver some item it has to be picked from Warehouse or some storage location .So picking list is generated
Tables used are - LIPS ,LIPSD .
In warehouse Management Storage type is as follows.
The storage type is a subdivision of a complex, physical warehouse.
Different storage types are identified by their warehousing technique,
form of organization, or their function.
Flow is
Sales Order->Delivery->Picking-packing-Post Goods issue->Invoice->Accounting Document ->Postineg.
Please reward if useful.

  • Update Transfer requirement for partially picked Transfer Order

    Hi,
I am looking for a functionality to update a transfer requirement for a partial picking.
For example, we have a TR for quantity 100 pieces and we have 80 pieces in stock, so we create a TO for 80 pieces and the remaining quantity on TR would be 20. Now we dont want to pick for the rest of the 20 pieces, instead we want the TR to be updated for  the quantity which will be picked i.e 80 Pieces.
Also, is it possible to put some kind of a rule which govern that the TR should be updated only if we are picking for atleast 80% of the quantity originally mentioned in the TR.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Hi Frenchy,
Thanks for the answer. I have one more question.
Is it possible to automate it based on a movement type, so that every time we create a Transfer Order for this movement type the relevant TR will be automatically marked for 'final delivery'. This would help us, because then we would not have to go to WAM everytime to mark it as complete.
Or some kind of configuration that will dictate that only one Transfer order will be allowed for a Transfer Requirement and the TR will be set to complete as soon as the TO is confirmed.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Transfer Order Splitting By Picking Area

    Hi,
Appreciate some help on this one.
Our system is currently set to split picking transfer orders by storage type -       I'm trying to switch this off.
Instead I would like to split by picking area, so if I have say, picking area 001 across 2 storage types, I would like a pick that goes across these 2 storage types to be created on ONE TO.
I have tried various combinations of sorting and splitting but so far no luck.
It seems that the 'Split Picking Area' check box  in     Define Profile > Profile for Transfer Order Splitting    actually refers to the storage type.
If this option is checked, I get 2 TOs, even though my picking area is the same across the 2 storage types I am testing.
If this option is unchecked, I get one TO, even if I set the picking areas to be different.  It is almost like the picking area has no influence.
I read something about 'Forced' splitting  -     I wonder if there is an option to uncheck 'Split Picking Area'   and then set my sorting in a such a way that I get my desired split??
Any hints or tips gratefully received.
    Thanks
    Guy

    Hi,
"Instead I would like to split by picking area, so if I have say, picking area 001 across 2 storage types, I would like a pick that goes across these 2 storage types to be created on ONE TO."
I would think that you do not have one picking area across 2 storage types. You define picking areas per storage type. So if you give them the same name, that does not mean that they are the same picking areas. So the effect you describe is a split per storage type because they have different picking areas.

  • WM Transfer Order Sort / Split

    Hi Gurus,
I want to be able to both sort and split a WM transfer order, so that I end up with numerous transfer orders sorted in a specific sequence.  I have figured out how to sort a transfer order in the configuration, and also how to split a transfer order in the configuration, but as I set the flag for splitting the TO (the 'split single TO' flag under 'Profile For Performance Data') I loose the specific sort sequence, it appears as though I can have one but not both.
    Any ideas??
    Thanks
    Colin

That seems you combine the forced split with dynamic sorting. It is not correct. Since the system always executes the forced split of the transfer order items according to the forced split criteria, the system always sorts the TO items in the standard sort in accordance with the forced split criteria in the order that the forced split criteria are processed.
    FYI.

  • Creating Transfer Order for Delivery with Specified Source Bin

    Hello,
My requirement is to create a pick transfer order for an outbound delivery.
<b>L_TO_CREATE_DN</b> works perfectly well, however, it does not let me to specify the source (fixed) bin in my warehouse.  It actually executes the bin determination routine to pick the source bin for me, which is not acceptable.
<b>L_TO_CREATE_SINGLE</b> won't work as my destination bin is a dynamic bin, and this FM does not allow to set LTAP-NKDYN.
So, I'm stuck.  LT03 actually allows the user to input source bin information, so I'm saving BDC as my last option, but wanted to see if anyone here has other ideas.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Dynamic Bin for delivery Transfer Order

    Dear All,
We have WM implemented in our SAP landscape. We do the picking though transfer order created with reference to outbound delivery through LT03.
In this picking transfer order the destination storage type is 916 and bin is dymanic bin (which is the delivery number).
I have faced a strange issue yesterday where the destination bin  is coming as $--1  or $--
2 etc instead of the delivery number.
This was working fine previously and even now its working fine except one day when i faced this issue.
Any pointers on this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks ,

    Hi Rohit,
Could you please check whether you have set the field  LIPS-VGBEL

  • User exits for delivery picking confirmation and transfer order creation

    Hi
We have a scenario for which we need help.
This is to do with replenishment from plant to plant.
    We have sales sets.
The sales sets needs to be replenished from one plant to another. We want the componenets of the sales sets to picked from the issuing plant. For this we need a transfer order. this needs tobe confirmed and then the goods issue should take place from the issuing plant. Its a two step process.
we are doing Sales sets in STO. The explosion takes place in STO. However when we create deliveries for this. Only the sales set header item without its components are flowing into the delivery.
The Tranfer order does not contain the components either.
However post  the goods issue we  can create a TO with reference to the TR. This is is not acceptable because we want the picking and confirmation to occur before PGI from the issuing plant.
Could anybody help: We want the TO to be created with the components even though in the delivery only the Sales set header appears. Can u suggest a user exit in which when we create the TR from the delivery the components of the set.
After confirmation of the TO then we want the picking status to be put as C.

  • Transfer order sorting by bin

I am trying to print TO sorted by bin number and then by material number. I guess I can sort TO output by bin etc only if I am creating TO using multiple processing function. Second option I tried using ""sort profile for TO split" but that didn't work either...may be because I am using split profile but not splitting.
Can anybody throw some light on this...
    Thanks!

    Hi,
You can maintain this sort profile in WM Customizing under Activities --> Transfers --> Processing Performance Data / TO Split --> Define Profiles' and assign it to a profile for the TO split (refer to note 388828).
    Here are the steps:-
    1. Create "Sort profile for TO splitting" (this is the place where you defined how TO items should be sorted).
    2. Create "Profile for Transfer Order Splitting" and assign sort file created in step 1 to the split profile.
    3. Go to "Control for Performance Data Processing / Define TO Split" and select "Performance data control". Assign split profile defined in step 2 to movement types as per your wish.
TO with movement type defined in step 3 should then be sorted according to sort profile defined in step 2 when it is created.
Please also be noted that sort profiles defined in OMLV are only for multiple processing (print of pick lists). During normal transfer order printing, sorting is always made according to TO item as of Release 4.0 (refer to note 556016).

    Hi All,
In the B2B  process the system is not picking the stock from from sale order stock while creating the transfer order? Please suggest.
Summary : Here we are creating the PR in the sale order and STO is created using the same PR to procure the materials from the WM plant to sale order plant. Since here intialy we are moving the stock to our sale order in WM plant and then picking the same. But while creating the Transfer order system is not picking the sale order stock in WM plant.

  • Automatic creation of Transfer order for Picking and putaway

    Hello All .
I would appreciate if someone can explain the process of configuring Automatic creation of Transfer order for Picking ( outbound delivery)and putaway( inbound delivery)  .
    thanks
    Rahul

    Hi
To have transfer orders created automatically in the background, you must first set the indicator Automatic transfer order creation for each respective movement type in the Customizing application for Warehouse Management under the path <b>Activities - Transfers - Define Movement Types</b>. The system automatically copies this indicator into the header item of the source document.
For more information on how to set up automatic transfer order creation for transfer requirements and posting change notices, refer to the IMG for Warehouse Management under the path <b>Activities - Transfers- Set up Autom</b>. TO Creation for TR/Posting Change Notices.

  • Create Transfer Order for Consingment Pick up

Hey, is there anyone know how to create transfer order for consignment pick up.
I had tried it using LT06 by using GR material document but it didnt work.
Please i need the answer rather sooner than later.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Customer consignment pick is from customer consignment stock back to plant stock.. First of all check in MMBE whether stock exists for that material under customer consignment stock. You can check this in MMBE.
Your stock should be maintained  in customer consignment and not in interim storage type.
Ideally your process shall flow like this
Sales order (KA-Consignment Pick up with item category as KAN & schedule line category: F0 & F1)>>Enter the order reason, material and quantity in sales orde & Save It>>Create Outbound delivery (VL10B/VL01N)>>Now Create Tranfer order to move the stock from consignment to warehouse stock>>Go to VL02N Choose from menu  Subsequent Functions u2013 Create Transfer Order & Enter>>Add Storage bin if required>>Confirm the transfer order (LT12)>>Do the Post Goods Reciept (VL02N)
Now Check Consignment stock quantity with MB58 Add Material , Plant , Customer Execute

  • Confirming transfer order for nested handling units (picking and shipping)

    Hi
My shipping location is HU + WM, I understand we cannot "auto confirm" Transfer Orders during creation from an outbound delivery (LT03) in the case of nested HUs because the system wants to know which exact box HUs ( The TO only specifies the pallet HU...storage unit)
I have an automatic Pick HU created during TO confirmation but the system still prompts for me to enter  box HUs that need to be shipped/repacked on LT12. This makes logical sense but is slowing down our shipping process. Since we do not put HU labels on our boxes, the picker has to go into HUMO, enter the pallet HU, retrieve the box HUs and finally enter some of those on the TO confirmation screen to match the open quantity. In reality we don't really care what HUs he picks as long as he picks from the right pallet.
Is there any way to automate this? If the system can pick box HUs sequentially, randomly or create further pick HUs. Anything but doesnt ask the picker to put in the box HU numbers
    OR
Is there a way to auto confirm TOs during creation
    OR
Is there any way to putaway box level HUs into the warehouse at the end of the production line so that Storage Unit is the box HU number and not the pallet HU number, that way it wouldn't prompt me for box HUs during picking.
I would really appreciate your help.

This is the standard SAP for picking nested handling units.  You can do some more reading on this by accessing the SAP note 829266.
We had a similar problem with nested handling units - what we ended up doing was writing a BDC program that would take the nested handling unit and pack it back onto that HU instead of the pick HU after TO confirmation was done in the delivery.
In order to get your TO to automatically confirm, check the configuration for the storage type that its picking from - look to see if "Storage Type requires confirmation for removal/placement" is checked.
You can als ocheck the movement type configuration for Propose Confirmation.
