SP10 - multiple approver problem with CUP

We have SP10 (patch 1) in our development system and cannot move forward to production because of a real show stopper. I have currently reported this to SAP thru an OSS message (and it is in development) but would like to know if anyone else is having this issue with SP10. (this happened even before applying patch 1)
We have multiple approvers when creating NEW users or CHANGING users in CUP. We have it configured to allow just one of the approvers to approve before going on to the next stage. Since we put in SP10, CUP is requiring ALL approvers to approve the request before going on to the next stage. We get the following message when one of the approvers approve the request: Request no: 5020. is approved, pending for other Approvers.
I've seen this reported for UAR and SOD but not for CUP. In fact, there is a fix for UAR in Patch 1 of SP10. I applied this patch but it hasn't fixed the CUP issue. I also don't have the issue when rejecting a CUP request, or when approving it through the configuration --> Request --> Administration screen (what I consider the Back-door since only security administrators get the configuration area).

I totally agree with you.
The good news is.... We installed SP11.1 and the multiple approver problem is fixed.
We have decided to leave our production system at SP8 until this system settles down a bit. Of course, this means we can't use many of the new fixes and features (such as UAR). We use our sandbox system to apply new support packs and do very rigorous testing. And our DEV system is at SP8 too.

Hi 2 all!
So, I have a problem with my printer. Yesterday I've installed my EPSON Stylus CX3200, everything was ok, local printing, samba sharing etc. This morning I've tried to print some tabs with TUX Guitar, the job was sent but nothing was printed. From CUPS administration page on localhost:631 I've tried to print a test page, but there's only an error message:
Unsupported format 'application/postscript'!
Reinstalling printer hasn't helped at all, the error persists. I'll be happy to listen your ideas... and sorry for my poor english.

pacman -S ghostscript
that should fix your problem.
p.s. restart your printer spooler after that!

Problems with cups

My printer (Epson Stylus Color 460) worked a few days ago. Now wen I try to print something, knotify shows an error:

Generally an error here is "client-error-document-format-not-supported ".
I tried to hash and unhash the line:
application/octet-stream
in /etc/cups/mime.types and /etc/cups/mime.convs. I googled it could help, but not in my case.
I can print some files using cupsdoprint or lp without -o argument. But I cannot print any odt or pdf files. Only plain text.
The only error that shows up in cups logs is:
Unable to set ACLs on root certificate "/var/run/cups/certs/0" - Operation not supported
I googled all the net, and I didn't find a solution, so I really count on you guys.

We are not able to reach from 172.22.20.x ips 172.27.99.x.
It seems so that the phase2 for this subnet is missing…...... as long as we try to reach from 172.27.99.x any ip in 172.22.20.x.
We are using similar configuration on many sites and it works correctly expect sites with DSL line.
We can exclude problem with NAT,ACL or routing. The connection is working fine as long as “we open all phase 2 manually” . After re-open (idle timeout) the tunnel the problem comes back.

When you define the peer with static tunnel-group entry ASA is looking for peer configuration in static crypto map. If the peer is behind static NAT configure a proper static crypto map with matching acl and proposals.

Multiple Speaker Problem with Airport Express

I'm having an issue with my Airport Express in selecting Multiple Speakers. I have one Airport Express located in the Living Room, and have no problem playing music on that directly from iTunes. However I cannot play there and on the Mac at the same time. An error message comes up:
An error occurred while connecting to the remote speaker "Living Room". An unknown error occurred (-15000).
I can clear the error and then go back to listening either in the living room or on the computer, but not both.
I have tried reinstalling everything...iTunes, Airport, Mac OSX, you name it.
Any ideas anyone?

I may have a solution for you Shannon. My solution, found after a lengthly Apple Support call, applies to Tiger 10.4.11 however it likely applies to Leopard as well. The problem is with your Firewall settings which may be blocking UDP access and or have it operating under a Stealth Mode. It must be set to allow UDP Traffic.
In 10.4.11 under System preferences/Sharing/Firewall under the Advanced button there are three checkboxes "Block UDP Traffic" "Enable Firewall Logging" and "Enable Stealth Mode". Uncheck all three of these boxes and it should work.

[SOLVED] Problem With Cups and Hp printer.

I am new to using cups. I usually have my operating system do everything for me. Arch seems to be a lot more tricky though.
I have an HP Deskjet 6980 printer. I have been able to successfully use it with Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora. I noticed that Arch came with HP Device Manager. This is the same program I used to add my printer to fedora. I decided to use this. During the process of adding my printer, it recognized it and when I pressed add printer, it said please restart CUPS and try again. I opened up system monitor and killed the cups process. I then tried to run the installer again and I got the same error. Then I tried to load up the cups interface on firefox but it failed to. I think I need to restart cups but I do not know how.

Problem with CUPS and Canceling jobs

I am using OS 10.3.9 on a 1.42 MDD PowerMac
I am having a problem trying to cancel Jobs using the CUPS interface. When I select "Cancel" I get an error "client-error-forbidden".
I have tried logging in as Root but the same error occurs.
I have run "CacheOut" and deleted all cache thinking that it would solve my problem.
I can't seem to find any answers anywhere.
I have 1 fax job and 1 print job that I would like to remove from the Que.
If I knew where these files were I would manually delete them, but I cannot find them, except in the CUPS interface
I was thinking of installing CUPS 1.2b2, as it has more features and maybe it would solve my problem.
Are there any problems that I should know about before installing this software. If I install it I can't go back to my original CUPS without re-installing the system.

Understand you can't log in as Admin?
Do you have an appication named after your printer in the folder Home/Library/Printers ? If so, click on it and see if you can see your job.
If not, try downloading Printer Setup Repair from:
http://www.fixamacsoftware.com/software/index.html
Seems to do a great job in fixing problems, and might restore your ability to monitor your print jobs. I was only able to monitor and delete my print jobs through the CUPS interface on my browser until I ran Printer Setup Repair. After that, I was able to use the application mentioned in my first paragraph to do the monitoring (and it works great!)

Problem with cups [Moved]

Whenever I print a page using cups, it first prints out an extra page saying who printed it, what time, etc. It's a useful feature, but it wastes a lot of paper. Is there any way to disable it? Thanks

Multiple crash problem with Safari

Hello all,
I'm a new mac user, having recently bought a MacBook. From very soon after I first used the computer, Safari would quit unexpectedly, usually when I followed a link. There is no obvious connection between the sites for which this happens, and the same link does not always cause a crash.
I have followed all the suggestions on the apple.com support sheet, and have determined that the problem occurs for other user accounts on the same system.
The last of the suggestions on the sheet was to dowload and reinstall Safari. I have downloaded (and am successfully using) Firefox, and have now removed Safari from the system. However, upon trying to download from apple.com/safari, the only version seemingly available was 1.2. Upon running the file, it was rejected, saying that the software was not compatible with the system.
In desperation, I ran software updater, and the OS has upgraded to 10.4.7, but I have got no closer to finding Safari. Is there a way to rectify this situation, to download and reinstall Safari, without having to reinstall the operating system.

Hi,
Try applying the Mac OS X 10.4.7 combo update. This includes all the changes made since 10.4.0 and should hopefully update Safari and all it's dependant pieces. The updater from Software Update only updates the changes from 10.4.6.

Multiple copies problem with HP3550

Here's the problem. We have 2 HP Color Laserjet 3550's connected to our network and clients set to print through a Queue on our xServe (10.3.9). When trying to print multiple copies of any document, we only get the first copy. This has been set up this way for about 8 months now and this just started happening recently. Any thoughts. We didn't change anything that I can think of.

What you did BEFORE reinstalling AE may also be very significant. Did you follow the Adobe instructions for uninstalling the application from your particular computer & OS and then run the Adobe Cleaner application?
I hope you didn't just wing it and hope for the best.

6500 multiple installation problems with existing hp printer on same computer

I just bought a 6500 wireless printer on a 14-day trial period from Staples. The first problem I had was that the installation CD said it did not support Windows Media Center Edition on my laptop. I chatted online with HP and downloaded a driver and ran the install. It got error messages halfway through that the HP PSC2100 (which I have used with my laptop) does not support wireless. I deleted the PSC2100 from Printers and Faxes and re-ran the install. This time it worked, but I got a message that the printer could not communicate with Scanning. I ignored this message and I am able to print from my laptop wirelessly. Now I want to install on my HP desktop, which has an HP Photosmart printer connected. Will I get this same kind of installation problem? Should I delete the Photosmart before trying the install? Do I need to connect the printer to the desktop with the USB cable (I'd rather not move the printer)? Will I be able to scan wirelessly after getting the Scanning error message? All of these could be tested, but with only 14 days I'd like to launch off other peoples' experience.

I have been having an bug that accures only on IE. I have a two dataset that is tied to a region. One display values and one checks to see what to display.
here is a snippet:

All of this works fine including on IE except when rsTop2merchants dataset returns no value ie trips and give me Failed spry state. Every thing works fine on all the other browsers.
PROBLEM
When rsTop2merchants is called using rsTop2merchants.loaddate() it seems to update the region before rsWatchMerchant can do get values and do its evaluation
But rsTop2merchants need to be called first because it does the queries and make all the updates in the database which rsWatchMerchant then retrieves
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Is there a way that i can call rsTop2merchants.loaddate() and have it not update the region until rsWatchMerchant has retrieve it values.
OR
Is there a way to have IE not trip when rsTop2merchants does not return a value(ie this problem only occures when rsTop2merchants does not return a value)

Reinstalling iTunes, problem with duplicates

I have an iMac 2GHZ running OS X v10.5.7 which is having multiple longstanding problems with freezing/errors and no significant problems show up after running disc utilities (repairing permissions etc..) or Tech Tool. Also my itunes music folder is full of duplicates that don't show up on my i tunes duplicate or "Dupin" duplicates list. iTunes library shows 43 GB space used and iTunes Music folder shows 95 GB space used.
I would like to start from scratch, reformat my hard drive and reinstall iTunes to see if it solves most of the problems. I am using Time Machine for backup but also can make a bootable clone with Super Duper. I wonder if it would be better to restore my iTunes from an iPod since none of the duplicates exist there.
Suggestions?

L430 multiple driver problems (ultranav and others)

I have multiple driver problems with my newly purchased L430.
1) After hibernate the UltraNav driver randomly stops working. This means that the settings are grayed out and my old settings aren't applied. Sometimes the mouse pad and track ball also stop working after hibernate.
2) The hardware mute button and hibernate don't like each other as well. After resuming from hibernate with the mute button on the sound doesn't work anymore. Rebooting only helps if you have disabled the mute before rebooting.
3) The intel usb 3.0 driver can't be installed unless you want a lot of bluescreens.
I do have the newest drivers and BIOS (2.54).

It's ok my friend, I just hope I will be able to help.
Now to the problem. The thing that worries me the most and the reason I asked you to contact a Lenovo Repair Center, is the blue screens with the Intel Usb 3.0 installation. If the driver is correct this should not happen and most of the times it signifies a pure hardware problem, not a software one. Really, it just should not happen, period!
So please, before anything else, download and boot with a Linux Live cd, any distro you like (e.g. Linux Mint, Fedora, etc). Better choose a 64bit version. It's one way of determining if you're facing a hardware problem with the usb 3.0 ports.
The information you give is very useful and more or less complete, but I would like to also know the model of your SSDs, both the 2.5'' and msata.
Meanwhile, you can check either with the Linux Live cd or with Memtest86+ your ram. This does not seem to be a memory problem but it would be nice if we could exclude it from the suspects list. Many - if not most - of these problems are multifactorial and we cannot leave anything to chance..

Problem with CSS files when placed in multiple locations.

In our application we have a folder structure for the code files. Folder structure looks something like the one shown below:
ABC
---Scripts
---Stylesheets
DEF
Scripts
Stylesheets
Common
---Scripts
---Stylesheets
The problem is, if we create a CSS file and place it in its module specific folder (Eg: ABC) to which it belongs to and call the CSS on a page, then the styles are not getting applied to the page. But if we move the stylesheet to the Common folder, then page renders properly. In common folder, we already have a common CSS which is used across the project.
Facing similar problem with module specific and common js files.
We have to move all the module specific files to the module folders and all the common files to be placed in the Common folder.
MII Version: 11.5

Also note that, If your html is referencing to multiple css files then the last referenced CSS file style classes will override all the style class having same names in the previous css files.
for example,
say CSS1 has
.bodycolor
background-color:yellow;

color:red;

and CSS2 has

background-color:red;
.button
color:yellow;
And your HTML is,
