SPAU - Logical Info Objects (Client Specific)

My experience with handling patching conflicts in SPAU is minimal. We currently have a conflict with 3 objects under the category of "Without Modification Assistant - HR Objects - Logical Info Objects (client specific)".
I have no idea what do to properly resolve this so that we can finish patching. I am sure this is a simple thing for experienced people.
Furthermore, being client specific it suggests that whatever needs to be done should be done in our config client. True or False?
I am looking for some practical advice to get me looking in the right place for resolving this matter.
Any practical real-life references to SPAU problem resolution would be appreciated.

I believe when faced with patch conflict, best way is to start with note corrections listed in SPAU which generates a transport request used in subsequent systems.
For objects under "Without the Modification Assistant", which I haven't encountered yet, SAP recommends use of versioning. Hope following link helps:

Hi Vijay,
The logical info object (LOIO) represents all info objects that have the same topic. However, it does not have any attributes such as language, format, file size, etc.
The physical info objects (PHIO) belonging to a logical info object are the info objects that represent the contents, language and format versions of the topic.

Restricting Authorization for a specific Info-object

Dear All,
I have a scenario where I have to restrict the account managers by specific channels.
I have 2 info-objects, Sold-to party and Sales Channel. Sales Channel is defined as attribute of the the Sold-To Part info-object.
I was exploring the BI authorizations concept in SCM 2007.
I created a authorization called "Test" and assigned the info-object Sales Channel in the authorization and restricted it for one value. This authorization along with 0BI_ALL I have added to the role under BI authorizations.
However in interactive demand planning, I cannot restrict by the sales channel. It allows me to load data for all the channels.
If I remove 0BI_ALL object, then I cannot load anything in interactive planning.
Does anyone have a step by step proceedure for using the BI authorization concept?

Yes, 0TCAACTVT (activity), 0TCAIPROV (InfoProvider) and 0TCAVALID (validity) have to be made authorization relevant. For the info objects you want to use to control security, also make them authorization relevant in RSD1, imagine the object you want relevant is ZZ_VKORG (sales organization).
Then use RSCEADMIN transcation and 0BI_ALL will include the objects from above, copy 0BI_ALL into a object such as Z_1000 and then change the value for the specific info object that you want to control, imagine that you want sales org 1000 only to be allowed within Z_1000.
Now, you have 2 choices: You can use the normal security maintenance (SU01, PFCG) and you can asssign RSRS_AUTHBIAUTH and set BIAUTH requal to Z_1000 or you can use user maintenance directly within RSCEDAMIN and assign Z_1000 to the user. Either way, it becomes part of the authorization of the user.
You may find that you need to introduce colon authorization concept ( for mixed levels of data and that is just a matter of adding a second line to the allowable values and setting it like "EQ :".
Things to consider:
1. This authorization concept is water tight and will do everything you need, but will do at the expense that if you don't model it first, you will kill yourself trying to make it right. This becomes evident when you trace a security issue (via RSCEADMIN) because the way BI7.0 works is that it will build a minimized superset of authorizations, so it is best to know where you want to get to, rather than starting off by where you know you need to go.
2. To control change or display mode, you will need to influence 0TCAACTVT, even though you might think to use C_APO_SEL3 for ACTVT, the BI7.0 concept works within the BI space and 0TCAACTVT doesn't impact it.
3. If you activate more info objects, 0BI_ALL will get updated automatically but your custom authorization objecst will not. So, it is best to activate them all at the same time so that you don't have to manually change them.
4. Do the work in development and transport it to the TEST/QA/PROD environments, there are transprt tools within the RSCEADMIN.
This is probably enough to get you going, reply back if you have specific questions or issues.
I've been thru this in a painful way, sometimes the best things learned are learned the hard way

Error generating client-specific objects

Dear all,
while generating environment in maintain operating concern i am getting following error
Message no. KE007
Diagnosis
     The system automatically adjusted operating concern PAPL, or the
     environment of operating concern PAPL was regenerated. An error occurred
     while the system was generating client-specific objects in client 600.
System Response
     Operating concern PAPL cannot be used in client 600.
Procedure
     If this message is contained in the generation log, see the messages
     that occurred before it for details about the error.
     If this message appeared during the automatic adjustment, try to
     generate the environment using the Customizing transaction KEA0.
Activate data structures, generate environment
so i could not generate the environment in development server

Actually the problem is when op.concern was generated in dev.server it was transported to test and production server,but while transporting some request from development my client got dump in development server and so operating concern was changed to transport the requests.Also in old operating concern some characteristics and value fields were added and deleted by user .Now when trying to activate environment (client specific part) it gives above error message.
also we have got reply from sap which is as under:
1)Thanks for the log in details. I was logged in to your system and checked the issue. I found few inconsistencies in the system. Please let me know if you have deleted any characteristic or value fields or if you have done any COPA transports recently.
2)Thanks for the reply, we have changed and deleted characteristicsand value fields. Since we have changed our operating concern PAPL TO PAP1 and then assigned to controlling area PAPL which is not transported
to production server then again we have changed as usual PAPL so we are facing this activation problem .please guide us to solve this problem as early as possible
3)) I am not sure if I can help you resolving the issue as this is purely an inconsistency created by user action. These kinds of issues can be solved only by our remote consulting colleagues. However if you want to restore the old settings you can transport the operating concern through KE3I from your quality or production where the system is working fine.
In test and production my operating concern is working fine ,is it possible to transport request from test or production to development ?
also kindly suggest any other solutions

Tables While Creating Info Object

What are the tables created when we create and activate an Info Object. I Came to know that it will create 11 tables when we activate an Info Object what are they It was my Intv Question. are these 11 tables created automatically or with the user specifications?

         The number of tables depends on the charecteristics of the infoobject selected. if it has time dependent attributes or hierarchy
suppose an infoobject is product then we could have the following tables
     Product hierarchy table: /BIC/HProduct
      Product hierarchy SID table: /BIC/KProduct
      Product SID-structure hierarchy table: /BIC/IProduct
     Product master table for non-time dependent attributes (table name: /BIC/PProduct)
     Product master table for time dependent attributes (table name: /BIC/QProduct)
     Product SID table (table name: /BIC/SProduct)
     Product non-time dependent attribute SID table (table name: /BIC/XProduct)
     Product time dependent attribute SID table (table name: /BIC/YProduct)

Error while assigning Logical System to Client

Hi,
I am trying to perfomr data transfer suing Idoc from SAP R/3 to PI.
For this, I have created a logical system PD1CLNT100.
But when I try to assign the client 100 to this Logical system through SALE, I ge the following error
"An entry already exists with the same key SALE"
but I am unable to see this entry in the client list in SALE.
Please tell me where is it picking the entry from?

Check once again for Client 100 ... there willl be entry (Assign the Logical System to Client)
Check in table V_TBDLS for Logical Systems..
T000 for Clients
Log out from the system and log in once again and check it....

An InfoCube describes (from an analysis point of view) a self-contained dataset, for example, for a business-orientated area. You analyze this dataset in a BEx query.
An InfoCube is a set of relational tables arranged according to the star schema: A large fact table in the middle surrounded by several dimension tables.
Use
InfoCubes are filled with data from one or more InfoSources or other InfoProviders. They are available as InfoProviders for analysis and reporting purposes.
Structure
The data is stored physically in an InfoCube. It consists of a number of InfoObjects that are filled with data from staging. It has the structure of a star schema.
The real-time characteristic can be assigned to an InfoCube. Real-time InfoCubes are used differently to standard InfoCubes.

Problem in transporting Variants - "You cant transport client-specific obj"

I am facing a problem while trying to transport variant from DEV to QAS.
When I tried to transport one of the variants (of a program) from DEV to QAS (quality system), it gave me an error that: "You cannot transport client-specific objects".

The program is Not a local object. I am trying to assign the variant to a transport via. SE38->variant->display->utilities->transport request-> request number.
Is there a way to modify this variant from client specific to "non-client-specific".
Also, please let me know hoe do we copy this variant into a new variant which is not client specific (i.e. a global variant).

Generating export datasource for an info object

Hello Guys
I am working on BW 3.5. I need to generate an export data source for an infoobject so that I can load its texts into another target IO. When I go into the infosources tab, and right click on the particular IO, it gives me the option of creating an export data source.
My question is: How do i transport this data source from DEV --> QA? Do we have to re-create the export data source in each system individually, ie DEV, QA and PROD.
Secondly, when I could see the export data source in the the BWQ source system, i tried moving the transfer rules for the DS to the target IO and it gave an error.
Error message:
Mapping between data source 80CRED_GROUPT and source system BWQCLNT100 is inconsistent
Field CRED_GROUP will not be delivered from DataSource 80CRED_GROUPT in source system BWQCLNT100
Field C_CTR_AREA will not be delivered from DataSource 80CRED_GROUPT in source system BWQCLNT100
Field LANGU will not be delivered from DataSource 80CRED_GROUPT in source system BWQCLNT100
Field TXTMD will not be delivered from DataSource 80CRED_GROUPT in source system BWQCLNT100
Why is this happening? And as i asked before, can i transport an export DS or do I create it in each environment individually? Please note: This is an export DS for an info object.

Hi Srinivas,
You can transport the export data source across the landscape(Dev to QA).
You do not eed to generate it in each system.
Also ensure that the conversion of logical system names or the source system names has been maintained.
You are right it looks like the data source creation was a problem hence it is not alllowing importing transfer rules.
You may try to recollect the export data source and transport and then once it is transported successfully replicate metadata of the self system.
Now transport the transfer rules.

Assigning CL Info objects to 0MATERIAL

Dear Gurus,
                  I have created CL Datasources(class type 200,001,022)
classtype     basis datasource              Info object
200              0MATERIAL_ATTR            1cl_0mat200(with 36 attribute fields)
001              0MATERIAL_ATTR            1cl_0mat001 (with 69 attribute fields)
022              0PROD_ATTR                   1cl_0prod (with 9attributes)
Now can i know my following assumptions are right----
1). Make them ATTRIBUTES as Navigational Attributes in their respective Info objects..
2).Assign resp.CL Datasources to resp.CL Info sources generated...
3)Develop the ODS and Infocubes with these CL Info objects...
or
1).Should I add the above Info objects(1cl_0mat200 and 1cl_0mat001) as Attributes to 0MATERIAL Info object???

Have u used the CTBW transaction for datasrc creations for classification data for materials? The CTBW_Meta trasaction will take care of the necessary attribute objects to be created.

ADDING TWO FIELDS TO MASTERDATA 0MAT_PLANT AND MAKE THEM AS INFO-OBJECTS.

I have a Problem , I.e. How to add Two filelds i.e. reorderpoint and maximum stock level in Standard data source 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR for Master data 0MAT_PLANT.
If Extract structure doesnt contain these fields then I Can go for Data source enchancement. Its ok.
But this Extract structure(BIW_MARC_S) is having these fields reorderpoint and Maximumstock level and not showing me in Data source 0MAT_PLANT_ATTR and also not showing me in Hide and selcetions, if it shows me in Hide (selected ) then I can able to change it. (By unselcet check box from Hide).
These fields reorder point and maximum stock level should be maintianed as attributes of 0MAT_PLANT. (IN BW SIDE)
Friends another Problem is in Bw side my client want it should display as info-objects. Is it possible ?
Because these attributes are key-figure attributes and K.F. attributes cant be maintain as navigantional attributes.
Any help would be really appreciated.

My doubt is these fields already available in Extact structure biw_marc_s but not available in data source 0mat_plant_attr.
I can go for data source enhancement when there is no fields availble in Extract structe right.
but fieds reorder point (mabst) & maximum stock level (minbe) are available in Extract Structure.
2) IN bw side i can create these two infoobjects (reorder point and maximum stock level) as key figure infoobjects but they can't be maintained as navigatinal attributes to act as info object individually right.
Please help me out or Please pass through this message to your freinds .

Time Dependent Info Object

Hi All,
I have an extractor that extracts data with DATEFROM and DATETO fo rthe time dependent HR employee related data for managers. But when it extracts into BI and loaded to Info Object the DATEFROM is not the same as what is extracted, it is 01/01/1000 instead of record specific.
Any idea why it is showing like it is?

You are right. But in my case I extract only 200 records with DATEFROM and DATETO as 12/10/2006 - 12/31/9999. So I should expect my extracted 200 records and the system generated 200 records. But I have only 200 records but all the DATEFROM fields are changed with 01/01/1000. My PSA and R3 extractors are having the actual real DATEFROM.
Do you see where I have this issue?

Report info about a specific machine

Hi,
Does somebody have a report that gives all information in SCCM about a specific machine between a timespan (like between November 1st and November 21st)?
We would like as much as possible info about a specific workstation that's available in the SCCM SQL database, for forensic reasons (i.e. software installed, last user logged in, etc).
The specific workstation has been reinstalled, so checking the workstation itself is not possible anymore.

Update Concatenated Info-Object

Dear Experts,
C1 and C2 are info-objects (characteristics) that have their own data and update rules directly from source (ERP). I have a third info-object animal C3 which is structurally C1-C2 (C1 hyphen C2).
What is the easiest/neat/straightforward/standard way to update C3 without using Excel ?

Hi Borat
If you ask me, I will follow below steps.
1. With first step, I will load the C1 and C3 infobject.
2. As I 2nd set up, I will start loading the data into C2 infobject. Together with BI expert, you can create logic i.e. C1-C2 = C3 in the transformation. so ideally I would use C1 and C2 as source data for my C3 infobject.
At least we are following similar kind of process in our area which still works :-).
