Specify a XI queue for processing ?

Hi,
I would like to specify clearly a queue for a specific outbound Message Interface. For instance :
Queue_1   for all MessageInterface_4
Queue_2   for all MessageInterface_5
Queue_3   for all MessageInterface_6
By this way, I will be sure that all messages of "MessageInterface_4" sent every 10min  will be processed by the same Queue "Queue_1".
Thus if a queue is in status "Stopped", that's means that only one interface will be affected.
Note: I use mainly adapter JDBC, IDoc, Abap proxy in Asynchronous mode EOIO.
Note: Another way is perhaps serialization, but I'm not sure that's possible with XML message inside XI.
Thanks
Mickael
P.S: I know well document "How to Priorize XI messages on IS - NW2004S.pdf"

Hi,
As its mentioned in above one of the post
You could arrange the queue for IDOC with
1. Create a function module, which will be used to indicate QueueID for the IDoc type.
2. Import parameters: CONTROL of type EDIDC & Export parameter: NAME of type CHAR16
3. Tables: DATA of type EDID4 In the body of source code, simply specify the QueueID with one line of code.
Note that it must match with the QueueID specified in IDXQUEUE table in your XI system.
For JDBC to be serialized
"Database Transaction Level" Setting as serializable:
Most restrictive isolation level. When it's used, the phantom values cannot occur. It prevents other users from updating or inserting rows into the data set until the transaction will be completed.Phantom behavior occurs when a transaction attempts to select a row that does not exist and a second transaction inserts the row before the first transaction finishes. If the row is inserted, the row appears as a phantom to the first transaction, inconsistently appearing and disappearing.

  • How to configure queues for sending IDOCs from XI in the same order receive

    Hi,
       We are collecting IDOCs and sending them to XI using a background job (RSEOUT00) from R/3. When XI receiving these collected IDOCs, it's forwarding the received IDOCs into different queues for processing them and sending them to receiver system. Some times some queues are taking longer time to process the received IDOC and in the mean time the latest IDOC received getting processed and sent to receiver system. When the information related to this old IDOC is sent out to receiver system after the latest IDOC information is  sent to due to delay in Queue processing, we are getting errors in the receiver system. Can somebody explain the steps to configure queues to process the IDOCs in the same order they received from R/3.

    Hi,
    Why not tunnel all the IDOCs to one queue for processing ?
    Cheers
    Colin.

  • Use of synchronized queue for java socket communications

    Hi all,
    We have a need for a server socket application (stand alone java application) to process just one command per time coming from a java socket client (JSP Web application). There are a lot of users accessing the java socket client, but the server socket can only handle one command per time, so there is a need of a queue type, so users will have to wait for their time.
    We've been told that we can use "synchronized Queue", but we don't know what it is and how to use. A URL, book etc. with sample code would assist us, since we are new to both java socket communication and queue of commands.
    Can anyone assist us
    cheers
    Trajano
    P.S.
    The server socket java application has two threads:
    1st thread handles the java socket communication;
    2nd thread is a RS-232 serial driver that communicates to several micro-controllers connected on a multi-drop.
    JSP web app client socket users can issue various commands at the same time to the java server socket app, however the server can only service one command per time (just one RS-232 COM1 serial port available). The commands have to somehow be added to a queue for processing.

    I do not have the experience to offer advice. But I just happened to be reading today about Collections.synchronizedList.
    import java.util.List;
    import java.util.LinkedList;
    import java.util.Collections;
    public class Queue {
       private List queue;
       public Queue() {
          queue = Collections.synchronizedList(new LinkedList());
       public Object removeItem() throws InterruptedException {
          synchronized (queue) {
             while (queue.isEmpty())
                queue.wait();
             return queue.remove(0);
       public void addItem(Object item) {
          synchronized (queue) {
             queue.add(item);
             queue.notifyAll();
    class Test {
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          final Queue queue = new Queue();
          //start a thread to process items from the queue
          Runnable work = new Runnable() {
             public void run() {
                try {
                   Object item = queue.removeItem();
                   //do something with item
                } catch (InterruptedException e) {
                   //handle this
          Thread worker = new Thread(work);
          worker.start();

  • What to do when there is lot of packets pending for processing in queue

    Hi,
    In our application, we have service bus queue, one of the Web APIs (REST) picks the data from devices and puts into the Queue. The worker role picks the packets and process it.
    To improve the speed of processing, what are the options available?
    There are too many packets laying in the queue for hours.
    Please help!
    Thank you!

    Hi sir,
    Please try to handle your queue message in parallel. Base on my experience, you can create a pool of threads process. Every thread could pick the queue message and handle it. After finished it, you can discard the message or do other actions.
    For this idea, I think this post and thread will give you some epiphany.

  • Specifying Event Queue for EventQueue.invokeAndWait().

    Javadoc says EventQueue.invokeAndWait(Runnable runnable) / invokeLater are static methods causing the Runnable executed in the system event queue thread. But I found that my applet appli. running under IE has 3 event dispatching threads AWT-EventQueue-0, AWT-EventQueue-1 and AWT-EventQueue-2. The system event queue (the one returned by Toolkit.getSystemEventQueue() ) is inside AWT-EventQueue-0 but by testing my applet's event queue should be in AWT-EventQueue-2.
    My question is, is it possible to specify which event queue's thread to run the Runnable? Since I found that the 3 event dispatching threads are of different thread groups and only the AWT-EventQueue-2 is in the same thread group as my applet and I want my Runnable to be in the same thread group of my applet thread. The thread groups of the 3 dispatching threads are :

  • Email for process message failure in CO54

    Hi
    Does anyone know if it is possible to send auto generated emails for process message terminations in tcode CO54?
    Regards
    Werner

    Hi Rohit,
    You can maintain the email ids in following two reports for any queue blockage in outbound and inbound queue -
    /SAPAPO/RCIFQUEUECHECK - For Outbound queue Faiure
    /SAPAPO/RCIFINQUEUECHECK - Sends notifications in the event of inboundCIF errors
    Here you can specify the  -
    1. CIF name/initials like CF*
    2. Name/Distribution List to which mails should be triggered
    3. Target system name
    4. Other settings as needed
    Moreover, you can schedule these reports as periodic background jobs scheduled to run every 30 minutes/1hour as per business requirement.
    This will send emails whenever any queu failure occurs.
    Hope it helps you.
    Regards,
    Alok

  • Message sitting in Queues for 30 minutes before MDB picks them up

    We're seeing a situation where we place messages on a queue and a small percentage of them will sit on the queue for 30 minutes before being picked up by the MDB to process. Anyone see this before?
              Here is the background. We're running 3 distributed queues on a cluster of 4 Weblogic 8.1 sp3 servers. The 30 minute issue happens on all 3 queues on all 4 servers. Currently we do not see a pattern. It can happen at a busy hour and in the middle of the night with nothing going on. During a busy timeframe, we can get up to 50 msg that hangup over a few minutes; less than 5 minutes.
              Our Service is an enterprise email service where various clients send email request to us via EJB. The EJB puts an entry into the database and puts a request msg into the queue. The MDB pulls it off the queue sends it to an email subsystem and updates the database.
              We added log msgs in both the EJB and MDB to track messages and narrowed it down to the requests just sitting in the JMS queue. We DO NOT set a delivery time via setJMSDeliveryTime().
              As mentioned is happens anytime during the day (busy or idle), may go for days without occuring, on any of the 3 JMS queues, on any of the 4 cluster servers, and for any of the clients. It's consistantly 30 minutes. This occurs on a small number of requests, but is enough to concern our business owner.
              Any thoughts on possible problems or any thoughts on monitoring or tracking down the issue is greatly appreciated.
              Thanks. Later...
              - Wayne

    One possibility is that the messages have already been pushed to an MDB instance in the JMS asynchronous consumer pipeline, but the MDB instance has stalled during message processing - which delays processing of the following messages. The waiting messages count as "pending" in the JMS statistics.
              You can reduce the number of messages in a JMS asynchronous consumer's pipeline via the "MessagesMaximum" connection factory setting (default is 10). First: create a custom connection factory with transactions enabled (to support transactional MDBs), and ack-mode set to "previous" (to support pub/sub MDBs), and MessagesMaximum set to its lowest possible value. Second: specify this connection factory's JNDI name in the MDB's weblogic descriptor.

  • Issues during Component Batch Determination for Process Orders

    Hi,
    I am encountering a strange issue during component batch determination of process order.
    1. During creation of process order, when I execute batch determination, systems does determination based on strategies we have set and when I click on Copy it gives an error
    "Log cannot be saved: Object/subobject not specified"
    Message no. BL201
    *Diagnosis
    Log save cancelled because at least one log contains no object or subobject.
    Object and subobject are needed to classify application logs because there are several log types. Only a few logs are managed in main memory at runtime, so this classification is not needed.
    If the logs are to be saved in the database, object/subobject must be specified for later retrieval.
    Procedure for System Administration
    Object/sub object can be passed when a log is created (function module BAL_LOG_CREATE) and changed with BAL_LOG_CHANGE.
    The possible values for object and sub object must be configured in transaction SLG0.*
    If I save the order with CRTD status and come back again in change mode and do determination, It works fine.
    Again when the order is in REL status and do the determination, It gives the same error.
    This happens only for a specific plant, In other plants batch determination works in all scenarios.
    I checked for all plant related Config for batch determination and coudn't find any discrepancies.
    Please advise how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for your help
    Regards,
    Aheesh

    There Is no direct solution for your requirement just try this work around.
    While defining the batch determination search strategy for process order in COB1, there is one column Quantity proposal where you can attach the Routines (This is written in ABAB code )  make use of this, define New Routines with ABAB help to fulfill your requirement. Try this if found useful award full points.

  • Single queue: concurrent processing of messages in multiple consumers

    Hi,
    I am new to jms . The goal is to  process messages concurrently from a queue in an asynchronous listener's onMessage method  by attaching a listener instance to multiple consumer's with each consumer using its own session and running in a separate thread, that way the messages are passed on to the different consumers for concurrent processing.
    1) Is it ossible to process messsages concurrently from a single queue by creating multiple consumers ?

    Hi Mark,
    if the messages are sent with quality of service EO (=exactly once) you can add queues.
    From documentation:
    Netweaver XI -> Runtime -> Processing xml messages -> Queues for asynchronous message processing
    ...For incoming messages you set the parameter EO_INBOUND_PARALLEL from the Tuning category.
    If more than one message is sent to the same receiver, use the configuration parameter EO_OUTBOUND_PARALLEL of the Tuning category to process messages simultaneously in different queues.

  • Concurrent (async, queue) Message processing - design issue

    Hi,
    The question pertains to the following scenario:
    1. A single input gateway (queue) for messages.
    2. Messages arriving from different systems. High incidence (>30 within a
    min) during specific periods
    3. Message should be processed in near real-time as and when it arrives.
    4. A non-polling (async) client.
    I'd thought of two diff approaches for it:
    1> Have a lightweight single-threaded message consumer -
    init connection etc and register a listener (both msg and excep).
    start connection . wait indefinitely
    Listener onMessage creates new thread for working and returns.
    Worker thread - parses xml in message and updates database
    2>Have a single main-thread with sub-threads
    Each sub-thread has own session and consumer and listener instance
    processing of messages is done in sub-thread itself.
    Which approach would be better suited ? Is there any other approach (
    (which of the above goes easy on resources, which is faster)
    Thanks in advance.
    Anshu.

    It depends on how concurrent you want to be.
    If you want to process the messages in order in a single thread; use 1 connection, session, consumer, thread.
    However one of the main reasons for using queues is they provide load balancing across processes or threads. If you want some parallelisation, use 1 connection but many sessions & consumers (1 consumer per session) which will each have its own thread.
    For ultimate performance & pooling of connections, sessions, threads as well as the MessageListener POJOs together with exception handling & transaction management use something like Message Driven POJOs...
    http://jencks.org/Message+Driven+POJOs
    Though if you are talking about 30-60 messages a minute, unless it takes you 1 second to process 1 message, those are very low throughput rates, so probably 1 single thread could do it :)

    Hi All,
    CPACache refresh worked for one day and the same problem repeated again next day, but need to have parmanent fix and should know the root cause of the problem so that the problem can not be repeated again.
    Is there any solution other than  CPACache refresh and JDBC adapter stop and start to fix the issue.
    And also found some entries in SM12 lock entry list during the same schedule time when the messages was triggered and remains for long time. Let me know whether we can delete those locks ?

  • Time duration for Process.waitFor() to wait.

    Can we specify the time duration for the Process.waitFor() after which it resumes?
              Runtime rt=Runtime.getRuntime();
              Process ps=rt.exec("some command");
              ps.waitFor();
    Like here if rt.exec() is taking a lot of time to execute, the ps should wait for a certain period of time for rt to execute and if rt doesnt complete within the specified time then ps should resume.

    I don't know exactly what you are doing but what about: wait(long timeout);

  • Inbound queue stopped processing messages
