Specify Objects in Diff Wizard

SQL Developer 1.5.1 Build 5440
I want to make a Database Diff between some tables in two databases. In the wizard should it be possible to specify specific objects that I want to compare. When I try to populate the list with objects I get the error 'ORA-00942: Table or view does not exist' when I press 'GO'. This error also comes if I try to change schema.
I have tried this on several different computers with the same result.

I have noticed that this problem occurs on other places with the same type of wizards (like Export DDL).
I do not have this problem in 1.2 version of SQL Developer.

I'm trying to determine if the Database Diff Wizard Tool contains functionality to allow/support diff compares between objects found in an Oracle Db instance and objects found in a MSSQL 2005 Db instance? I've established successful connections to each of the Db instances and can open/browse each one via the Connections browser. If compares between Oracle and MSSQL Db objects (vs. Oracle-to-Oracle only) are supported I must not have something configured correctly. Upon opening the Diff Wizard, (Tools --> Database Diff) and clicking on either the Source Connection or Destination Connection drop-downs only my Oracle Db connected instances are listed for selection. Could someone with experience using the Diff Wizard Tool offer assistance? (Provided SQL Developer supports this function).

I'm trying to compare two tables using Oracle SQL Developer, but I'm not being successful. :-(
The tables are the same, but they are placed in two differente environments: development and production.
Every time we need to make changes, we do it firstly at development environment. And I need to know which differences don't exist yet in production environment.
Everytime I try to compare tables, I always receive a diff report with just one difference, like below:
Type | Owner | Name | Change | Diff Count
Table SINFA Artesao CREATE 1
And in the the details window, there's the DDL of the table (source connection).
Does someone have any idea of what's the problem?

EA2- Diff Wizard

I downloaded and installed EA2 this morning. I created 2 new database connections to 2 different Oracle 10gR2 databases, one test and the other is prod. I then ran the DIFF Wizard on one of the schemas that resides on these database to test the tool. It showed there was a difference on every single object (all tables, indexes, sequences, etc). Is there a trick to getting this tool to work properly?

I ran the tool again this time changing the database connections to connect to the user being compared on both databases - this worked. It would be nice to be able to compare any schema from the source db to any schema in the destination db without having to have a separate db connection for each user/schema (I usually connect via some user account with DBA role). Does anyone else agree this would be a useful enhancement request?

i changed my code in many ways by adding new Delegate User with different folder permissions.

That error means you don't have rights to the Mailbox your trying to access. In Exchange by default the only user that has access to mailbox is the owner of the Mailbox, Exchange Administration rights does not grant you access to another users mailbox. You
need to either specifically grant rights to each mailbox using Add-MailboxPermissions or use EWS impersonation where you can impersonate the owner of the Mailbox see

"System: Unable to find the specified object" on N...

When I go to Control panel->Messaging->Text message" I get the error:- "System: Unable to find the specified object".
I also can no longer send text messages. Every time I try to send a text message, it asks for the "Centre number" which presumably is the SMS service centre number, but even if I type this in I get an error "Error: Not found".
I'm sure these 2 issues are related but I'm not sure.
Please, can someone tell me how to fix this.

I have the same problem except for that mine is with my nokia 9500. Did you manage to fix your problem? I started getting the same message after I have deleted certain temporary files. I then, also noticed that I do not have access to the internet and the only available option reflected was W*EasyLan
Please assist if you have managed to fix your problem or can anybody out there assist me PLEASE. Thankx

System: unable to find the specified object.

I am trying to install tomtom 5 for mobile on my 9300i. Installation is fine but when I try to launch the application it gives the following error.
system: unable to find the specified object.
I am not able to find any work around this. Any idea please share.

I have managed to get TOMTOM mobile 5 working on my Nokia 9300i.
I think its just that the TOMTOM software was writen before the 9300i was released so it does not know whether the 9300i is series 60/80 or 90.
So change the file extension names of the file system/apps/ttmobile/ttmobile.app to ttmobile.appx
If your doing this in the phones file manager you may not be able to see the system directory so press the menu key when viewing the memory card directories in the memory card in file manager, then change the view seetings under the tool pull down menu.
Then once changing the S60 file extension name go into the system/apps/ttmobile80/ttmobile.appx to ttmobile.app
This will mean that this file shortcut will now appear on your desktop for Series 80 and not the series 60 version.
You will need to do the same for the Contacts program.
Change system/apps/TTnavcontacts/ttnavcontacts.app to ttnavcontacts.appx
Change system/apps/TTnav80/ttnav80.appx to ttnav80.app

Hi,
Try to update the firmware version (contact ur nearest Nokia Service Center). Please take a full backup before doing upgrade. After firmware update please restore only the contacts (partial restoring recommended). If u do a full restore the probelm (error) may occure again.

Diff Wizard

I am using the Diff Wizard to differentiate detween Production database with Development database.
SQL Developer
Version 1.5.0.52
Build MAIN-52.03
I am geeting below issue whether it is problem with tool or not
We have added a new column to a table say WC_PART with CCN Char(3) in development database
In Diff report the alter script is like delow
alter table WC_PART add ( CCN CHAR );
actual it should be like
alter table WC_PART add ( CCN CHAR (3) );

I have a similar issue with the "Database Diff" wizard: for columns with data type NVARCHAR2, the length specification is missing.
I added in table ACTIVITY_DEF the column "CLIENT" as
CLIENT NVarchar2(5) Constraint ACTDEF_CLNT_FK_NN NOT NULL ,The wizard created the following line:
alter table ACTIVITY_DEF add ( CLIENT NVARCHAR2 NOT NULL );This results in:
alter table ACTIVITY_DEF add ( CLIENT NVARCHAR2 NOT NULL )
FEHLER in Zeile 1:
ORA-00906: Linke Klammer fehlt For other columns of datatype CHAR or VARCHAR2, the syntax is correct.

I tried searching the forum but there were no results
I want to upgrade the iPod firmware on my 5.5 G iPod. I am using a mac so I need AlterPod.
But with AlterPod I have a problem: The specified object is a property, not an element. (-10008)
So AlterPod does not work on my mac!
Is there any alternative to AlterPod?

show your code with the trace() function that indicates the
object is defined (along with the output panel's result).

EA1 Connection errors in Diff Wizard not reported.

If you select a connection in the diff wizard which fails for some reason (eg 1017), the error is not reported and the connection drop down selection is reset.

This is also true for the Copy Dialog connection. I have updated the bug.

How to create an account w/o having to specify object owner_names

Hi,
Do you know how to create an account, that, when logged in wouldn't need to use the following syntax when referring to objects: select * from <owner_name>.<object_name>.
When the owner of the account creates an object, then obviously, it's not necessary to specify the owner_name (syntax: select * from <object_name>;), but, I'd like an account with ie: (username: joey) to not have to specify the owner_name for all the objects owned by another owner (ie: bob).
Is this possible?

This is one use for SYNONYMs. You can create a private synonym for JOEY:
create synonym joey.table_a for bob.table_a; or a public synonym:
create public synonym table_a for bob.table_a;public synonyms mean everybody can seen the table without prefixing it with the owner; but PUBLIC synonyms, like PUBLIC grants, make fine-grained security access harder to achieve.
In the first case the account creating the synonym must have rights on BOB's tables and (unless the account creating the synonym is JOEY) the CREATE ANY SYNONYM privilege. In the second case they must have rights on Bob's tables and CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM privilege.
In both cases the account must either be BOB or have been granted access to BOB's tables: if the creating account is not JOEY they must have been granted the privileges WITH ADMIN option: it's no good having a synonym on BOB's table_a if you don't have the privilege to select from it. This is important because it is possible to create a synonym for an object you don't have rights on or indeed that doesn't exist.

When i try interfacing TestStand with labView 7.1,the Acrivex Automation open is throwing the error mentioned above.
The object its refering is "Sequence Context" of Test Stand.I could set other properties of TestStand from LabView 7.1 FDS,
only if this object is created .Why is it do?.

Hi Jeyaseelan,
To load your steps limits from a LabVIEW VI, I would recommend taking the following steps:
1) Start from TestStand, and create a new "Action" step type named something like "Load Limits". Right click on the newly created step and select "Specify Module", then "Create VI".
2) Within your VI, load test limits from a file format of your choosing (ASCII should be the simplest). The Read From Spreadsheet File subVI should work great for this.
3) Next, you need to look up specific steps in your sequence and programatically change the limits. Right click on the Sequence Context input to your VI, and select Create >> Property >> Sequence. On the "Sequence" output of that property node, right click once again and select Create >> Method >> Get Step by Name. Enter the appropriate step name and group.
4) Finally, right click on the "step" output of the previous invoke node, and select Create >> Method >> AsPropertyObject. Right click on the property object, and click Create >> Method >> SetValNumber. For the lookup string parameter, enter "limits.low" or "limits.high". The options should be set to 0, and the newvalue input should contain your limit value (obtained from text file).
After this, you can definitely customize the VI to meet your needs. For example, you could automatically go through every step in your sequence and detect which ones are numeric limit tests, then set the limits of those tests using data from a text file.

Version of the object using Transport Wizard and Change Lists

Hello experts,
When using the Transport Wizard, after selecting --> "Individual Objects" --> "Add Objects from Change Lists", do you know if the version of the object selected
- is the last one (aka, the version right after the last activation of the object)
- or the version of the object at the time it was added to the Change List?

Go to T-code SE10, go to the transport request you created. See all objects that are attached to your request. Now you would need to revert all the objects attached to its previous version(as you recieved before changes).
Go to each object, by double clicking on it, go to utilities - version management and see the relevant version just prior to your change. Uncheck the checkbox which is checked on current version and check the previous version checkbox and find button on toolbar which says retrieve version, click on it and once that version is retrieved go to change mode on that object and generate or activate the same.
