Sqlldr without tnsnames entry

Hi,
I am able to connect to the database using sqlplus as follows
sqlplus user/passwd@''(description=(address_list=(address=(protocol=TCP)(host=machine)(port=1521)))(connect_data=(sid=dbsid)(server=DEDICATED)))'
But I am not able to load data using sqlldr as follows
sqlldr userid=user/passwd@''(description=(address_list=(address=(protocol=TCP)(host=machine)(port=1521)))(connect_data=(sid=dbsid)(server=DEDICATED)))' control=file1.ctl
I got the following error messages
LRM-00116: syntax error at 'address_list' following '('

Could anyone help me?

Is there any otherway without using the TNSNAMES entry to load the data? Actually I have a program which analizes some genomic sequences and during the process It will insert data into the database. The program takes the Oracle SID, database host, database user name, and user passwords as params and do the things. If there is no alternative, We need to change the interface such that it accepts an entry in tnsnames.ora file as parameter instead of SID, hostname, port etc.

Close Service PO without service entry

Can anybody help me about service PO
Is there any possibility to make service PO without making service entry. that means how to make service PO 2 way match. for this service POs the business doesn't want to make service entry. they want to make a service PO and they want to close this PO through Invoice verification only without service entry intervene. once invoice was posted automatically PO should close. business requirement is they dont want to post service entry for this type of Purchase orders.
how to do this process in SAP.

Please create service Material with material type DIEN, then please create PO without GR indicator and also please flag Invoice Indicator in PO.
Then you can do invoice with respect to this PO.

I have one requirements for service entry report.
my requirement is I need to take all POs without service entry.
I am taking records all from the table EKBE, but I dont know how to classify these records.
Is it based on fields(table EKBE) vgabe & vgabe?
Is the table EKBE correct?

Selection Parameters Tab---->Press F4 from the drop down you can find list of parameters (WE102 & GUTSCHRIFT)
For PO-GR existing, use ME2N & WE102 combination for existing GR list, pls use ctrl+F8 for the selection field for this.
For PO-Invoice, use ME2N & GUTSCHRIFT combination for existing Invoice list ,

The vendor master and inforecord uncheck the GR based invoice verfication or Service based invoice verfication and do the MIRO with reference to PO.

The manual has this section below. Is ipc-ora for the EBS database and ipc-gw is the DW database ?
Are these sample names or they must be used and the SIDs replaced?

How to create the Report Server tnsnames entry

I'm trying to integrate Oracle Forms with Oracle Reports and the document says that I have to know the tnsnames.ora entry for the report server. In other versions it was created automatically but in 11g there is no configuration. How do I configure this?

In 11g in the opmn.xml the environment variable TNS_ADMIN is set for the reports servers; in addition to the "normal" location under $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin you have to add a tnsnames.ora in $INSTANCE_HOME/config if memory serves (just take a look in the opmn.xml for the exact location)

Can LabVIEW call a DLL built with VS(2005) C++ with /CLR and Without an Entry Point

My project requires me to convert a C++ program to a DLL and having it called by LabVIEW. Due to the complexity of this C++ program (converted from fortran using f2c -C++ option), it cannot be compiled without using /clr option. I did build the application standalone (/clr), and it functioned fine. When I build it into DLL using VS2005, I was forced to use No Entry point option and without using DllMain in the C++ code. Eventually the DLL was built without error. But after I call it from LabVIEW, I was not getting calculated results as expected. I added a testing function to the C++ code of the DLL and just try to modify a parameter, it will not, but only return the input numbers. I was passing data by pointer and not by value, so I expect this parameter output be modified. I suspect that the DLL didnt get executed at all as it has no entry point specified.
Am I on the right track to approach this task, or I am heading to totally wrong direction here? I believe due to the fact that my C++ was from f2c and use vsf2c.lib and so on, the code is managed code, so that a regular DLL cannot be built from it with an entry point. How can LabVIEW call such a DLL? Am I right on that? I really need your advice here for a right approach to this problem and possible implementation "watch outs"...Thanks!

Hi...Finally I was able to compile my code with an entry point defined and without using /clr. I can also call this DLL from LV and got back a variable from a little test function added to the DLL. But the function that was used for my main application in the DLL crashed LV and I got a pop up box from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library: Runtime Error! "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way, please contact the application's support team for more information". In Visual Studio I also got the following message: (I eliminated most of the "No symbols loaded" messages that are not errors but just info.) I would apprciate if someone can take to look with your more "experienced eyes", many thanks! Bryan.

Service entry without an entry date/not linked to goods receipt/invoice?

Dear Gurus,
I created a service entry against line 10 of PO. When viewing the service entryu2019s u201CAccept. Datau201D tab, there is a document date and a posting date.
When viewing the u201CHistory tab,u201D the created dated is 01/12/11...
When viewing the POu2019s u201CPurchase Order Historyu201D tab, the Service Entry does not have an entry date Additionally, when I go to the u201CGR/IR Assgtu201D view, the service entry is at the very top of the view But the goods receipt and invoice processing document are at the bottom, grouped together, but without the service entry.
Please help as why is it happeing like this?

after this, I am going to PO history tab, there i m seeing the SES number but entry date field is missing...

MIRO without Service Entry Sheet

We have a odd requirement to have the MIRO done before the Service Entry Sheet. The business process is as follows:
1. User will raise a Service PR and then a Service PO will be raised.
2. The services will be carried out at the plant.
3. There will be a central location for Invoices and the vendor might send the invoice before the Service Entry Sheet is created.
4. To manage the huge load, the MIRO will be posted and will be blocked (Since Service Entry Sheet is not created).
5. The Blocked Invoice will trigger a workflow which will be sent to the requestor reminding that a Serv Entry Sheet has to be created.
6. The requestor will then create a Serv Entry Sheet and the Invoice will be cleared.
Std SAP does NOT allow the MIRO without the Serv Entry Sheet.
Any feedback will be appreciated.

you can do this way-
step1-
You can change the Error message into warning which you are getting during invoice posting ( in absence of SE) or
make the changes in std SAP invoice posting code
see at which stage SAP code validate whether Service Entry is exist for given PO.
If SE is not there then instead of allowing to throw an error message, and bypass the error message with warning message.
Step2
you pass the MANUAL BLOCK on invoice via user exist . As soon as you post the invoice, Invoice will have header level block (you can see the invoice in RSEG table RSEG-SPGRQ)
Step3
there should be one function module which will fetch the requisitioner ID from Purchase Order ( ARNAM or AFNAM, based on company policy)
logic- if invoice has manual block , then get the requestor's ID and send a notification via WF to requestor 2) you need to schedule a job which will call T code MRBR with option Manual Block to release the invoices
Process- Once SE is done by requestor and subsequent GR is created automatically, the job will run as per the schedule and invoice will be unblocked

My questions is I do not have a tnsnames file pointing to this service. How is it possible to connect to an oracle db without using a tnsnames.ora file?

No. I have oracle 10g installed on my laptop at home. I started SQLPLUS from the command prompt (Windows). I did a search for tnsnames.ora on the entire computer and none of the files have the services I connected to. Is it possible to connect?

Run Query without TNSNAMES.ora information??

I have created a simple tool in Microsoft Excel which basically runs macro to create a reports. Macro contains queries which executes on oracle database server. I can run this tool because I do have the TNSNAMES.ORA file on my desktop but I want to distibute this tool to multiple users. These users are not able to run this tool because TNSNAMES.ORA file is missing on their side.
Is there any way so that the users can run this tool without having TNSNAMES.ORA file?
Can I include this information somewhere in the sql query or macro itself?

of course, it seems that Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" driver was no longer supported after v8 (I said I hadn't done ODBC in a while).
I tested using the oracle supplied driver, and in the "TNS Service Name" box, just ignore the pull down, and type "//host:tnsport/service". I think you need the full service name, as defined on the remote machine. I stopped my local listener, and the odbc connection worked.

Closing the A/p document without journal entry reflection

After receiving the material from a vendor , we copy the GRPO document to A/P invoice .
After creation of A/P invoice , we dont like to made a entry , so we directly closed the A/P invoice by right click and closed.
during that process a journal entry was entering.
But we want to close the a/P invoice without any reflection of journal entry.
Is it possible.

when you look at the JE created by the GRPO (if using perpetual stock) you'll see that the increase in stock value was put onto the stock account, the balance was posted to the allocation account. There was no posting to the BP subledger account & the BP balance at this point is not affected.
Once you have received the AP invoice, the balance is taken from the allocation account & put onto the BP account. It is only at this point that the BP balance is affected & a payment can be created based on the invoice. If you wish to reflect that payment of the invoice will not take place, you can create a credit memo based on the invoice & thus nullify the balance due on the BP account.
Of particular importance is to reflect any item cost changes between the GRPO & the actual invoice. In the GRPO, the item cost is merely advisory, it is an estimation of the value your stock goes up by when you receive the goods. Only at the point of invoicing do you know for sure how much the goods are going to cost you. Price differences are accounted for in different ways depending on the valuation method of the item(s) in question.

AP and Expenses without Accounting Entry Template

Hello,
Is there a way to use AP and Travel and Expense without setting up an accounting entry template?
This templates asks 35 accounts but more then half of them are for functionality taht we won't use so we don't really see the point in setting it up...
In case we have to set it up, is there an explenation somewhere of which account in the list is used for which functionality? The 'fundamentals' PeopleBook doesn't seem to provide us with a lot of info.
