SSRS 2012 Configuration

I have installed SQL Server 2012 Developer version and trying to configure SSRS for report manager URL and web service URL. But the url is not working and I am getting page not found error. Below are the screenshots of Reporting services configuration manager.
But none of the urls are working. Showing as page not found. Please help me.

Hi Rajesh,
According to your description, when you access report server, the page displays webpage cannot be found error, right?
Based on your information the 404 error means that the page you are trying to reach couldn’t be found on the server, so the issue could cause by the URL reservation. In Reporting Services, a URL reservation defines the URLs that can be used to access a Reporting
Services application. When configuring the report server URL in RSCM, a URL reservation will be created in rsreportserver.config file(default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer) automatically. If
values for <URLReservations> elements are not corresponding to the report server definition in RSCM, it supposed to display page not found error when accessing report server. In your scenario, please make sure the setting for <URLReservations>
in rsreportserver.config file is correct.
As we tested in our environment, when changing URL setting in RSCM, update will occur in URL reservations. And the URL reservations is corresponding to the URL setting in RSCM. Then we can access the report server successfully. Please refer to the screenshots
below:

    Hi Vichu,
    According to your description, you encountered the timeout issue when rendering your report. Right?
    In Reporting Services, sometimes this issue happens when rendering big report, and it exceed the default Query Timeout time. Generally, we increase the Query Timeout and Session Timeout so that it will have more time to retrieving data.
    In this scenario, since you have done this adjustment and the issue still exists randomly. We suggest you optimize the performance of your report. Please refer to the articles below:

  • SSRS 2008 R2/SSRS 2012 Tab Delimited setup is not working correctly in Report Designer

    I have changed a RSReportDesigner.config to add a tab delimited option for report export, but it is not working correctly in vs2008/vs2010 report designer. I get a duplicate of CSV (comma delimited) in the export dropdown list.
    I have tested SSRS 2008 R2/SSRS 2012 on Windows 7 64 bit professional.
    It is working correctly in the report manager.
    <Extension Name="TAB" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.DataRenderer.CsvReport,Microsoft.ReportingServices.DataRendering">

                    <Encoding>ASCII</Encoding>

                    <NoHeader>False</NoHeader>

                </DeviceInfo>
            </Configuration>
          </Extension>

    Hi Dave0323,
    According to your description, you want to export your report into TXT file and change the delimiter to be a Tab. Right?
    In Reporting Services, when exporting to a CSV file, we can change the default field delimiter to any character that we want, including TAB, by changing the device information settings in the configuration file. For example, to use TAB,
    update the FieldDelimiter setting to <FieldDelimiter xml:space="preserve">[TAB]</FieldDelimiter>. And we can change the FileExtension to be TXT if we want to export it into a TXT file. So in this scenario, we just need to modify the configuration
    file like below:
    The result looks like below:

  • SSRS 2012 Print Error w/ Win 8.1 IE11 (0x80004005)

    I'm having an issue printing SSRS 2012 reports from Win 8.1/IE11.  When I print I get "An error occurred trying to render the report. (0x80004005)"  See below for SSRS Log.  This happens when trying to print any reports from this
    server on a win 8.1 machine. I've checked on Win8/IE10 and Win7/IE11 and they both work fine.  When I change the "User agent string" in F12/Emulation to IE10 instead of default it also works fine.  These reports are in compatibility mode
    by default due to the "Dispaly intranet sites in Compatibility View" being checked by default.  If I uncheck this box the reports will not even run.  They display an error message of "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: String"
    which is very similar looking to the error in the log below.
    TIA for any help

    Hi Joshua.Arenz,
    As per my understanding, you configured SSRS 2012 of SharePoint mode, when you click system setting in Central Admin, you got the error message.
    According to the error message, the Reporting Services service application is not configured correctly. Please make sure you created service application correctly by following steps:
    In SharePoint Central Administration, in the Application Management group, click Manage Service Applications.
    In the SharePoint toolbar, click the New button.
    In the New menu, click SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application.
    In the Create SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application page, enter a name for the application.
    In Application Pool section, create a new application pool for the application (recommended). Then select or create a managed account for the application pool.
    In the Database Server, you can use the current server or choose a different SQL Server.
    In Database Name the default value is ReportingService_<guid>, which is a unique database name. If you type a new value, type a unique value.
    In Database Authentication, the default is Windows Authentication.
    In the Web Application Association section, select the Web Application to be provisioned for access by the current Reporting Services Service Application.
    Click OK.
    For more information about Creating a new Reporting Services Service Application, please refer to the following document:

  • SSRS 2012. ReportServer takes long time to be up.

    SSRS 2012 Sp1
    Hi guys,
    I am using SSRS as my reporting platform, but I have always got the following issue.
    SSRS ReportServer takes time to load.
    The first time takes long, then less time but only if the ReprotServer web page is continuosly retrived.
    HERE the problem:
    If the ReprotServer page is not used after a short time (let me say 10 min), the page takes long time to be up again.
    I have checked the configuration that is set as for default 12 hours.
    Is there a way to speed up the ReportServer opening page time?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi Fasttrack2,
    According to your description, you want to optimize the performance of your report. Right?
    In this scenario, when your report page is not active for a short time, it will take long time to render again. This is because the you have the report timeout. You can select "Do not timeout report" in Processing. Please refer to the link below:
    SQL Server Reporting Services – Timeout Settings
    For the performance issue, it can be many reason cause the report running slowly. Please refer to the articles below to optimize the report:

  • SSRS 2012 with SharePoint 2010: Unable to connect to the remote server

    We had originally installed SSRS 2012 with SP 2010 and I did not like how the installation was configured, so we uninstalled everything and removed the SSRS server from the SharePoint farm and uninstalled all the SQL bits (SSRS was deployed to web tier in
    sharepoint mode).
    I've since added a new application server to host the SSRS SharePoint Mode and Installed the reporting services add-in on the WFE.   For reference, I have 1 WFE and 2 App Servers.  the WFE has the Reporting Service Add-in and both App Servers have
    the SharePoint mode of SSRS installed as described here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh479774(v=sql.110).aspx
    I've also installed the Service Application and all seems to work well up until I make an attempt to create a report or data source on the WFE.
    It looks like somewhere, the WFE is still looking to connect to the original SSRS machine we installed.  I've gone through registry, config files and the SharePoint config database to see if I can see where the reference value is.  Still can't
    find it anywhere.  None of the Reporting commandlets are helping.
    Technically what is occurring;
    Add Reporting service content types and create a New Reporting Data Source through UI

  • How to deploy a SSRS 2012 report to IIS 8

    Hi SQL gurus.
    I wrote a simple SSRS 2012 report and saved it in d:\A_report\.  I installed, accepting default configurations, IIS8.  I used Reporting Services Config Mgr to configure report manager.  Web Service URL is
    http://testreport:80/Reports.  Database is ReportDb.  Report Manager is
    http://testreport:80/testreports.  I can see internet information services web page when I browsed it thru IIS manager.  Can someone please guide what are the next steps for me to publish my helloreport
    to the web?  or show me the chronological steps that leads me to successfully publish the report?  Do I need to creat a new virtual dir in wwwroot and start to save new reports to new virtual dir? are there anyother missing components/parts
    of services I had missed?  I want to learn but there are so many sources I read but each showed differenlty from others & I am confused.  I dont need Sharepoint.  For now, all I have is MS SQL 2012, MS SSRS 2012 & IIS8.   Thanks
    in advance.

    SSRS reports are no longer hosted in IIS, that changed after the 2005 version.
    Your web service URL should be http://testreport:80/ReportServer
    it should be a different URL to your Report manager URL (at the moment for some reason you have them both the same?)
    Then you can set up your config to point to your web service URL and deploy through visual studio

    How do we configure the reportserver to accept windows authentication?
    Any help is welcome.
    Regards,
    Jim

    Hi Jim,
    In your scenario, you need to configure the SharePoint mode report server to use Kerberos authentication. Since SQL Server 2012, Reporting Services SharePoint Integrated mode has been changed from a Windows Service to be a SharePoint Shared Service. In this
    way, the SharePoint mode report server has its own RSreportserver.config file located in the following directory (SharePoint 2013):
    C:\Program Files\common files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extentions\15\Web Services\Reporting
    So, the document you referred to applies to native mode report server. For SharePoint mode report server, what you need to do is set the Authentication elements in its corresponding configuration file as follows:
    <Authentication>
    <AuthenticationTypes>
    <RSWindowsNegotiate/>
    </AuthenticationTypes>
    After that, we need to reset the IIS. When creating the SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application, we need to check the “Enable Windows Authentication” option, and select the Integrated Windows authentication type to “Negotiate (Kerberos)”.
    Besides, we must register SPNs for both the SharePoint mode and the SQL Server service to which the report data source establish a connection.
    Here is an excellent blog about this topic that you can walk through:

    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • SSRS 2012 excel export is still coming out as an xls not xlsx

    Hello, All
    I am pretty new to SSRS 2012 and trying to migrate existing SSRS 2005 reports to SSRS 2012 to resolve the limited record export function with classic excel format.
    The server is using .Net Framework 2 application pool as below and it's not showing any page with .Net Framework 4.
    I have migrated RDL files using SQL Data Tools and updated web.config and aspx pages too.

    Also, Report Viewer 2012, 2010 and 2008 (all of them) were installed on the server.
    I checked the RSReportServer.config file and it does have xlsx available and xls visible=false instead.
    <Extension Name="EXCEL" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.ExcelRenderer.ExcelRenderer,Microsoft.ReportingServices.ExcelRendering" Visible="false"/>
    <Extension Name="EXCELOPENXML" Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.ExcelOpenXmlRenderer.ExcelOpenXmlRenderer,Microsoft.ReportingServices.ExcelRendering"/>
    The target RDL file looks working fine with .xlsx file export in the SQL Data Tools(Report Designer) but it's not exporting xlsx file and trying to export classic xls and failed to generate more than 65536 records.
    Can anyone help me with this issue?
    Did I miss anything in the settings or something?
    Your help would be much appreciated.

    Hello,
    If I understand correctly, Excel render format is working fine when you export RDL file, but cannot work for RDLC file.
    RDL files are created by the SQL Server 2012 version of Report Designer. RDLC files are created by the Visual Studio 2010 version of Report Designer. RSReportServer.config file is control RDL file rather than RDLC file. Based on my test, in Visual Studio
    2010, when we export RDLC file, Excel render format is .xls. You can try to use Visual Studio 2012 to test, if it can export .xlsx file.
    In order to solve the excel limitation issue, please refer to the document below:

  • Ssrs 2012 export to comma delimited (csv) file problem

    In an ssrs 2012 report, I want to be able to export all the data to a csv (comma delimited) file that only contains the detailed row information. I do not want to export any rows that contain header data information.
    Right now the export contains header row information and detail row information. The header row information exists for the PDF exports.
    To have the header row not exist on CSV exports, I have tried the following options on the tablix with the header row information with no success:
    1. = iif(Mid(Globals!RenderFormat.Name,1,5)<>"EXCEL",false,true),
    2. = iif(Mid(Globals!RenderFormat.Name,1,3)="PDF",false,true),
    3. The textboxes that contain the column headers, the dataelelementoutput=auto and
       the text boxes that contain the actual data, I set the dataelelementoutput=output.
    Basically I need the tablix that contains the header information not to appear when the export is for a csv file.
    However when the export is for the detail lines for the csv export, I need that tablix to show up.
    Thus can you tell me and/or show me code on how to solve this problem?

    Hi wendy,
    Based on my research, the expression posted by Ione used to hide items only work well when render format is RPL or MHTML. Because only the two render format’s RenderFormat.IsInteractive is true.
    In your scenario, you want to hide tablix header only when export the report to csv format. While CSV file uses the textbox name in detail section as the column name, not the table header when you view the table. So if we want to hide the header row of the
    tablix, please refer to the steps below to enable the “NoHeader” setting in the RSReportserver.config file:
    Please navigate to RSReportserver.config file: <drive:>\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS1111.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer \RSReportserver.config.
    Backup the RSReportserver.config file before we modify it, open the RSReportserver.config file with Notepad format.
    In the <Render> section, add the new code for the CSV extension like this:
        < Extension Name="CSV"   Type="Microsoft.ReportingServices.Rendering.DataRenderer.CsvReport,Microsoft.ReportingServices.DataRendering">
            <Configuration>
                <DeviceInfo>
                   <NoHeader>True</NoHeader>
                </DeviceInfo>
            </Configuration>
        < /Extension>
    Save the RSReportserver.config file.

  • SSRS 2012 rendering issue/Enabling Anonymous access - Upgraded SSRS from SQL 2005 to SQL 2012.

    Hi,
    I just recently upgraded SQL 2005 SSRS to SQL 2012 SSRS. Everything is working great other than small issue.
    Sounds like some authentication issue. SQL 2005 SSRS - IIS, we enabled anonymous access and we never had this problem. SQL 2012 SSRS /WIN 2008 R2 -  I am not sure how to enable anonymous access.
    If anyone can help me on this? I really appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Vel
    Vel Thavasi

    Hi Vel,
    According your description, you want to know how the enable anonymous access to SSRS 2012. Right?
    In SSRS 2008 or later version, we are not using IIS any more. If we want to configure the authentication, we need to configure in RSReportServer.config. This file locate at:
    <drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS12.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer
    However, in SSRS 2012, Anonymous authentication is not supported on report server. Please see:
    Authentication with the Report Server
    In this scenario, we need to custom an authentication type to achieve the "Anonymous" goal. Please refer to the link:
    Configure Custom or Forms Authentication on the Report Server
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
