Stamping my iPad when I walk into the store

Hello,
I stopped by the store in Union City, CA on Oct 30, 2014 around 4:30pm trying to get 200 shopkicks, but there was no point popped up for my phone. I installed the shopkick app on my iPad with the Otterbox case to see if it worked. I walked out of the store and walked in the store holding my iPad. When I walked back in, the staff at the store asked me to give the iPad for him to stamp. I asked why he needed to stamp my personal iPad, he said because I walked it with it. I told him I would go out of the store now. When I went out, I asked him his name and he told me Jose. I checked his name tag and it said Chris. When I asked him why it was different, he dared me to make a complaint, so here it is.
Does Best Buy like to stamp personal items when customers walk in? What if I walk in with a smartwatch, headset. The glue will create crease on the item and it can cause cosmetic wears if it is too sticky to clean gently. 
Also, the shopkick probems seem to persist many times now. I haven't got any shopkick at the Emeryville store, and now this store.

I hope you are having pleasant Sunday.
You probably paid quite a bit of money for your iPad, so I can understand asking why we would want to put a sticker on it.  As harryhoudini66 alluded to, a Loss Prevention associate will put a sticker on just about any electronic device, outside of a mobile phone, that a customer brings into a Best Buy store.  That is done in-order to determine if a product leaving the store was paid for or not, and while it is a sticker, we try to ensure it will not harm a product and in most situations we will put them on the back.
As far as your Shopkick account, a potential reason why a walk-in kick has not been available is because you have met your walk-in limit for Best Buy.  Shopkick will take into consideration the number of kicks you have received from Best Buy walk-ins over the past 30 days when deciding if additional walk-ins will be available.  You should see a number listed in the Best Buy information page of the Shopkick app if any walk-ins are available.
How Do I Use Shopkick at Best Buy?
