Status of R/3 Workflow in Portal

Hi,
Is it possible to display the request number and status of the R/3 workflow in Portal? Do we need any custom development or we can call a transaction for it?

In ITS you need to develop and publish an Internet service which is roughly an equivalent to r/3 transaction.

I'm not entirely familiar with the SAP portal solution, but once the service is published through ITS it is accessible through any browser, so any portal not just from SAP should be able to display it.
One big benefit of having 640 over earlier versions is to have one sap instance serve the web pages to your browser.
The actual human interface of "web-enabled" transactions is very similar to standard sapgui, so it looks like the old transaction, but is often slower and more clunky.

Need urgent help on UWL configuration.
We have integrated our ABAP workflow with portal through UWL.
We have a Ad Hoc link in the ABAP workflow which takes us to some transaction. For some reason we are not able to view that link when we see this workflow through portal.
1. Is is possible to show any Ad hoc links from ABAP workflow into portals?

I can't get the short URL to work within a workflow. There is something with the combination of letters and numbers and other characters that when the link gets created, it fails.

Integrating WebDynpro ABAP applications with UWL for workflow in Portal

We want to integrate an abap webdynpro application as task in the workflow with UWL.
More information was found in /people/ginger.gatling/blog/2005/12/14/create-new-uis-for-existing-workflow-tasks-with-abap-web-dynpro-and-universal-worklist
But no answer on the following issue:
We use the transaction SWFVISU to prepare standard setting for our task. This defines how a task is executed, once you select the task subject line on the worklist.

Access workflow through portal application

HI everyone,
we are working on a portal application for PO approval processo which reads the workflow inbox and displays in the portal, now when users hits on an workitem , two button are displayed approve and reject and when user hits on approve , the next level approvers are displayed and when the user hits on the next approver, the flow has to go to backend and the workflow needs to proceed.
Now that the portal development is fine but after the user chooses the next approver , how exactly the workflow should continue.
Is there any way by which we can make this work and after user chooses the next approver the workflow will send the mail to next level approver.

Calling standard quality notification workflow from portal

Hi
I have front end screen designed in webdynpro, which is for creating a CAPA request in QM. This creates a quality notificaiton in the system. When this notification is created, the standard workflow would be called and the recipient wold get a workitem in his inbox to work on that notification.
I am completely new to workflow, I am not able to understand, how do I merge the standard workflow to the portal. How do I know what exactly the standard workflow do and do I need to enhance it for my purpose? any 1 more queston is, is it possible to enhance standard workflow?
In my requirement, there are multiple user roles, after moving forth and back and with some approvals my notification would get closed.
Any pointers in this regard are verymuch helpful.

Hi AM,
hope you have delegated your Z to your main BOR.
Check in SWO6 if that entry exists.
Go to SWO1 tcode enter your ZBOR (which you delegated above) and click the GENERATE button on the application toolbar.
Later go to your custom WF, check if the Basic Data has the main BOR and event as entry (since you have delegated ZBOR, no need to enter ZBOR and event as entry, you can use main BOR)
If this is also done, check with bindings as our friend RB said.

Can't retrieve approval status in Globally Reusable Workflow (Approval - Sharepoint 2010)

For day's i am trying to implement the following in one of the standard, out of the box, Globally Reusable Workflow with Sharepoint Designer 2010:
If Current Item:Approval Status not equals 0:#Approved Start Approval Workflow Task process on Current Item with Parameter:Approvers Else //Nothing
This is to prevent that a workflow is started if the item is already approved! The strange thing is, a buddy of mine has also Sharepoint 2010 and he can select in the DropDown list -Current Item: -> Approval Status..
But the only things I can select are the following:
Content Type
Created By
ID
Modified
Modified By
Title
I don't understand what is going wrong! What am i forgetting to configure or bind or set?

I have found the solution!
I have setup an test environment, Sharepoint 2013 on MS Server 2008R2 and installed Sharepoint Designer 2013. When I now edit the default out of the box "Approval - Sharepoint 2010", if you enter the condition "if current item field equals value", you can
now select "Approval Status"!!
So this means that it IS available after all! After a lot of trying, searching, this is the solution in a Sharepoint 2010 environment, installed on MS Server 2008R2:
Edit the (global or copied version if you want) workflow.
Add the condition "if current item field equals value" as a step.
Select from the item field: Content Type
Click on "equals" and change it to "not equals"
Then click on the condition and enter manually the following: 0;#Approved
Move the task "Start Approval Workflow Task..." up so it is a part of the condition "If.. "
Add an Else condition
Enter here your custom action or log to show the user that the Task is not performed.
Save the workflow.
We now have to manually edit the Workflow Rules file.
In Sharepoint Designer 2010, click at the left side of the ribbon on "All Files".
If you have created a custom workflow, you can find the "Workflow.xoml.rules" file, in the folder
Workflows/"Your custom workflow"/"CustomWorkflow.xoml.rules".
If you are using the global, out of the box Workflow, you can find the .rules file in:
_catalogs/wfpub/Approval - SharePoint 2010/ReviewApproval_1033.xoml.rules
Click on the file, then in the next screen click on "Edit file" under Customization. 4.Search for the string "ContentType" 5.When you have found the string, it looks a bit like this:

(When you look a few lines below this line, you see your added condition 0;#Approved)!
6.Replace the string ContentType with: _ModerationStatus 7.Save the file! 8.Open in the current directory the "Workflow.xoml" file (this is the workflow itself) 9. Click on the Save button, it will give you a notice:
A more recent version of _catalogs/wfpub/Approval - SharePoint 2010/ReviewApproval_1033.xoml.rules has been saved to the server by "user" on 1/5/2014 10:50 AM.
Do you want to replace this with your file?
Click NO! (Important, otherwise it will replace it with the default rules file, and nothing has changed!)
Close Sharepoint Designer 2010, reopen SPD2010 and go to the workflow.
Edit the workflow and you'll see the following now:
"If Current Item: equals 0;#Approved"
The field Content Type is now gone! This is correct so don't worry!
Publish the workflow and you are done!
Check now on a library that has a link to the edited workflow, when you start a new Workflow on a Approved-Major version of the document, what the outcome is:
The workflow is discarded because of the condition and nothing happened, so your document stays on the most recent Approved-Major version and is not published back to a previous version number!!
Conclusion: I think that the Sharepoint 2010 Designer, is missing that specific "Approval Status" field, but with the solution i have just given, you can solve this!

Make a document workflow in portal

Hello,
We have a requirement which we need to have a documents workflow such contains steps,
1. document author submit the documnet
2. each next step can edit/add content to the document and continue to next step.
3. after last step the ducument is realese
I know that the KM workflow allow only to approve/reject in each step. and that every change in the documnet (for authorize users) force to start the flow form the first step.
Is there any soloution I can use for this requirenent within portal/netweaver ?

Hi Ami, since it's not possible doing it by standards I think you could
either do:
A small portal application (WebDynpro/java)
or
Use Collaboration services, where you'd have a room with the authors
and aproovers as members, whenever an author have a new document,
he would create a new task for the first aproover with the document attached,
the 1st aproover makes his work and create another task for the next
aproover, finally for last aproover his task would include uploading the
document into KM.
That's kinda big workaround but it's a way it could be done, tasks in collaboration
rooms are friendly and it's possible to set date priority, notify by email, etc

Workflow and Portal Short URLs

Hi all,
I have created a custom link for a workflow that uses a portal short URL. if I run the URL by itself, then it works fine. When I add it to the URL link in the workflow, it doesn't show up in the workflow e-mail. Something is confusing the program and changing code so the URL doesn't get added properly. I know that it works if I use say a direct link to an iView (using the URL if you were to click the Preview button when viewing the iView in the Portal Content Directory).
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work? I like the anonymity of the short URLs.

Problem in workflow process when update status of CC32 via workflow

i am working on workflow support issue which is relating to CC31/CC32, here we create change number in CC31, but we won't change status of CC31 in CC32. it is possible thru workflow item only. but when 3 rd person updating status from 2 to 3, he is geting error, because the previous statuses are not updated. it's happening sometimes only not all the times. why.

Lead Status Field Updation Using Workflows

Could anyone suggest me how to update Lead Status field using workflows since that field not visible at the workflow level. we can update using Lead Qualification Script . Is there any other way other then qualification script. Any help would be appreciated.

The Status field for Lead is a read-only field. The updates you see are done by the system. Workflow cannot update read-only fields.
