STB fios to multiple VCR

Alright so I tried to use composite cable set up for motorola 2500 SD box, didn't work. I tried the coax set up from stb to vcr to tv, works fine. I tried to connect another vcr, set up from stb to vcr to vcr to tv, only the second vcr works, but there's no channels coming from the stb. a technician even came and said he didn't know how to fix it. how can i fix this? my grandpa is really getting on my back to fix this asap.
composite cables don't work at all, so maybe a solution with coax?

Sorry if I'm jumping into the convo here. I've been working silently in the background, listening in.
Hi electronicnewb,
Okay, here’s the deal with VCRs. To connect up multiple A/V devices, you must understand the daisy chain. It does not matter whether you use coax or composite (or even a combination of the two), but it does matter which device is taking priority, and what channel or input you are tuned to.
I am assuming that you are currently using coaxial cable and have the television tuned to channel 3. So for ease of understanding, I will continue with that model. But know that when you truly understand the chain, you can use coax or composite or a combination, and you can use channel 3 or 4 or Input 1, 2, or 3 if you have them. But first you need to understand the basics.
In a standard setup with an SD STB (model 2500) you connect the coax wall jack to the STB’s RF IN jack on the back of the STB. This connection will remain the same no matter what else you add. You then connect the STB’s TO TV/VCR output jack to the TV with a second coaxial cable. The TV is tuned to channel 3. Channel 3 is what the TV is “watching”. As long as both the STB and TV are on and functioning correctly, you will see your stations.
To connect a VCR between these two devices, you will add a third coax cable. To do this, disconnect the cable from the STB’s TO TV/VCR jack and reconnect it to the VCR’s OUT. Then add another cable between the STB and the VCR. Turn the VCR on and tune it to channel 3. Whether the VCR is on or off, you should now be able to see your stations. Now disconnect the VCR and connect your other VCR in the same manner to make sure that they are both functioning properly.
Now you need to know more information. The VCR now acts like a switch between your STB and your TV. When the VCR is off, the STB feed flows passively to the TV. When the VCR is turned on, it will block the incoming signal from the STB and show only what the VCR is “watching”. As long as the VCR is on and tuned to channel 3, it appears that it isn’t blocking anything. But the fact that you are seeing the VCR’s On-Screen Displays when it is on, and not when it is off tells you differently. To “turn the switch off” without turning off the VCR, press the TV/VCR button on your VCR remote. This should make the VCR OSD disappear.
Now to add both VCRs. Disconnect the cable going from the STB's TO TV/VCR jack and connect it to the OUT jack on the other VCR. Then use a fourth cable to connect the STB's TO TV/VCR jack to the VCR1 IN. You are now daisy-chained. To double-check, follow that the cable from the wall goes to the RF IN on your STB, the next cable goes from the STB's TO TV/VCR output to the VCR1 IN, the next cable goes from the VCR1 OUT to the VCR2 IN, and the last cable goes from the VCR2 OUT to the TV.
Remember that in order to record anything on TV, your STB must remain on. You must also leave both VCRs and the TV tuned to channel 3. You cannot record 2 shows at the same time.
Let me know if you are still running into problems.

  • Using the same stb settings on multiple stb in the same house

I have set up my main stb the way I like it with favorites, parental controls, etc. is there a way to "push" this stb settings to all the other stb in my house?

No there is not. You most configure each STB individually.

  • Fios+Moch+Multiple Airport Extreme/Express Units

I currently have the following setup:
    - Verizon Fios Router (actiontec). Wifi is on but rarely use the SSID.
    - Airport Extreme connected via ethernet to Fios Router which broadcasts to other aiprort expresses in my apt.  Setup to "create wireless network"
    - The airport express units "extend" the network and is in bridge mode. Printer is connected to one of the airport express units.
While this works, the wifi connections in other rooms is very weak as I live in an old building.  Download speeds of 2-3mbps vs 40-50 when I am near my main airport extrme.  The express units help a little but the speed suffers.
So I bought 2 MOCA adapters to help.  If I attach the airport express units to these adapters the speed is excellent, except it uses the SSID from the Fios Router which makes it difficult to print and use other features of the apple routers.
My understanding is that if I disable the router on the verizon actiontec I lose functionality of the tv guide, on demand etc.
    Any recommended solutions?

The express plugged into the MOCA unit should be in bridge.
It should also be setup to create a wireless network. Use the same SSID as the Apple Extreme.
It does however sound like the extreme is in the wrong mode.. it should also be in bridge.. you do not mention that.. just that it creates a wireless network which is correct.

  • Strange issue with FiOS Internet (Multiple devices)

I have 2 laptops and one mobile phone having wifi capibility. One of my laptops works absolutely fine with FiOS wifi internet. My other laptop started giving me troubles since yesterday and refused to open any website and if it opened then it was taking lot of time to load the website.
Even my wifi enabled phone which was connecting fine with the router refuses to connect to it now.
What seems to be the issue ?
    I even RESET the router.

Ok so i contacted the verizon customer care and they have told they will send a new modem / router and i can send them back the old one. Hopefully this should solve the issue. Lets see how it goes.

  • Unable to record programs on my VCR

My VCR(s) are connected according to the diagrams shown on the troubleshooting page of the Verizon website, but I am not able to record anything.  I only have the VCR, not DVR.   I get a blue screen on the one TV and just static (and sound) on the other TV.

How do you have your VCR Connected to the Verizon FIOS Set Top Box ?
Normally you would connect it as follows:
STB---S Video and Composite Audio (Red and white)--->VCR
    -or-
STB---Composite Audio and Video (Yellow, Red, White)--->VCR
    -or-
    STB---Coax Cable (RG6)--->VCR
To record the VCR would need to be set to record from the alternate input if using S-Video or Composite Cables and Channel 3 or 4 if using a Coax Cable.  The Verizon STB would need to be on and tuned to the program that you want to record.

  • ActionTec router reboots on it's own?

I originally posted this on Aug 4, but it seems that a whole bunch of posts from that day were lost in the maintenance that night so here goes again!  My MI424WR Rev I router several times a day just shuts down and reboots.  When it's finished rebooting everything is just fine.  I noticed it when I was streaming radio on computer and it would just shut off.  I looked at the router and saw that it was off, and then started going through it's booting...red power light, then green along with the rest of the green lights.  Since my original post I called Verizon and explained what was happening.  I went through all the reboots and shut downs that you can do with the equipment...rebooting the ONT, powering down the router, etc.  Still happening at what seems like totally random times.  They sent me a new router and I hooked it up today and so far I did have one reboot.  Any suggestions as to what I should look at here?  I like to troubleshoot and get things right before I call tech support. I'll have to keep watching and see if there is any pattern to these reboots.  Maybe today's reboot was just a fluke?  Have FIOS here for quite a few years and it's been trouble free up until now.  The problem does not seem to affect neither the TV nor the digital voice service.  BTW, my main connections to the router are Ethernet connections.

Very similar symptoms.  here's my commiseration. I'm undecided as to how to proceed.
I had a Rev F router that a very friendly, competent Vz tech left for me after a visit for an unrelated problem.  It's worked fine for several (2+) years.  A  few months ago I had a day filled with FiOS internet access problems.  Phone was fine.  TV was ok, except no VOD on any of the STBs. After powering down everything in the house  from the ONT (removed the battery too!) to the router, STBs, and PCs multiple times and restarting from the outside inward, I gave up and called Vz support.  The (exceptionally clueless?) tech put me through the usual power down/up drill again twice and then declared my router needed replacement.  C'est la vie.  While I disagreed, I knew arguing was senseless.  She put in the order for a replacement to be shipped.  That was a Thursday night. I was told it wouldn't arrive until Monday or Tuesday because of the weekend.  Since I work at home 3 days a week (M-W-F,  lucky me) it would mean making an hour drive into my office(unlucky me) until it arrived.  Friday morning before heading out, I crossed my fingers and tried connecting.  It worked (again, lucky me.)  No problems resurfaced that day, or through the weekend - even VOD came back.   When the replacement router arrived Tuesday, it was a new Rev I.  While happy, I was reluctant to install it and lived with the old one for another week.  I gave in and swapped them, sending back the old one.
As I mentioned, I work from home 3 days a week. I  follow the same "work from home" routine on those mornings. 1) reboot my ethernet-wired PC; 2) go get my coffee in the kitchen and let the dog out; 3) about 10 minutes later I start my VPN; 4) I start a Remote Desktop session to my office machine.  Up to here, that's been the same for years and aside form that one terrible day, there's been no problem worth mentioning.   After connecting the Rev. I all was good as well.  However, for the last 2 weeks, when I go through that routine and reach #4,  to start the Remote Desktop session, the  Rev I spontaneously reboots; just a red light, and then the green lights start and begin to flicker on/off during rediscovery & recognition on the Vz network.  While that progresses, I close the not-connected RDP start-up window, and terminate the VPN which is stuck trying to "reconnect".  I wait until full internet access is restored.  Then I start the VPN.  I start the RDP.  All is good.  If I happen to shut down the RD & VPN during the day, and then restart a connection to work, it connects fine without the router reboot happening.  But the next time I try a "morning" attempt 2 or 3 days later, it goes through the same problematic reboot-upon-RD scenario.
While most Vz techs I've dealt with are very good, I live in fear of getting another clueless tech and figure the "devil I know is better than the one I don't".  But reading this poster's problem is making me think it isn't "just me".  I'm interested in hearing if others are having similar issues.

  • Channels Unavailable

As of last night around 7pm I've been getting the "channel unavailable" error on all channels. I tried resetting the router, stb and ont multiple times already. I called the support number and walked through the automated steps but there has been no change. I have Prime HD with fios internet and the internet has been fine, just the TV has issues.
My internet is provisioned over Ethernet and I did set up a new route on Friday night. The actiontec is still on the network for the guide and vod. I've had this setup for years and its worked fine. Is there any reason that a different router would affect the TV? It worked find up until last night. Any help is appreciated.

Last week, my TiVo Series 3 HD using Multi-Stream Cable Card suddenly showed the Channels Not Available message on all the channels for 2-3 minutes and there are a few channels that do not show the error but just show a gray screen with not sound and am getting random pixelation on SD and HD channels.
On Monday 02/03/14 we lost all our services (Fios TV, Internet, and Digital Voice). First the TVs having Verizon STBs showed the same error message channels unavailable, but then showed a message 'Press button.. to restart your router'.  The first time it didn't work, but a few minutes later when the message reappeared and the button was pressed, the everything came back on.
Our router was reset last week because our Internet was slow and we were having a problem connecting to our MultiRoom DVR from our HD STBs. Our Internet again seems very slow with just basic Internet browsing and checking e-mail.

  • Typical wiring diagram

Can anyone direct me to the typical wiring diagram of a Fios DVR multiple room tv system, internet and phone. I currently have DTV with 5 tvs all inter linked and operational from any room. I want to continue this setup but need to run new wiring( based on where my satelitte enters my house verse where cable enters) where they would put the fiber panel. I want to run all the wiring myself and just let this tech plug in the main feed line.

While I agree with Telcoguru that there is no such thing as a "typical" FiOS installation, there are installations that are "fairly common" or "simple." I view mine fitting into the "simple" category, with two exceptions:
    1) I have Cat5 from the ONT to my Actiontec router. This is because I installed FiOS Internet 3 1/2 years ago, before TV was available, and before the ability to use coax only became available. Since I already had cat5 installed, I chose to continue using it when I got an Actiontec about 6 months ago. A normal installation today will not have cat5 from the ONT to the router, unless you install it yourself, so just ignore it.
    2) I have a PC at the other end of the house from the router, and do not have any cat5 run to that area. I wanted to have wired access for that PC, and since I had a leftover NIM100 from the original installation years ago, I used it to provide cat5 connectivity for that PC. Just ignore the splitter and NIM and assume a cat5 connection from a LAN port on the router to that PC.
I have three TVs, one HD DVR and two SD STBs, two wired PCs and one wireless.
Here is a link to my diagram: FiOS Wiring Diagram

  • Extreme slow upload speed in Dallas area

    Hello
Something happened to my upload speed last Thursday, it has dropped considerably connecting to most servers making many sites very sluggish. I have the hardest time just attaching a file in Gmail and the gmail chat keeps saying 'unable to connect'. Using FTP for my work is almost impossible. It's takes me 5-10 tries to upload a file that's not even 50KB.
I've called Verizon tech support and went through different diagnostics and then they sent a new router, which still didn't help. Here's what I concluded so far:
    It's not the router
It's not the computer since it happens on every machine
It's not the wiring since I can get good speed test connecting to some servers.
It's not the servers that i'm connecting to; everything works when i'm at work or on the phone.
I have 15/5, I've attached some speed test results.
Verizon's own speed test page even timed our during upload, which was stuck under 0.5 when it was about to finish.
Anyone else experiencing this? Verizon say my issue is currently with the engineers, but I have no idea how long that wait to be.
    Thank you

Is there any Verizon representative that can escalate my issue?
Basically a tech came last Saturday and wasn't able to figure out what was wrong and left and closed my ticket. Whenever I call back now they're just telling me it's my computer, which is completely FALSE. All my 5-6 computer just doesn't happen to have slow upload speed of the sudden and require modification to RWin buffer as the suggested by the on-site tech. Verizon phone support bluntly told me they can't do anything further and would charge me for coming out again to replicate my issue.
Things the tech have already tried:
-Run Fios Optimizer multiple times on multiple computers.
    -Replaced router
    -Replaced ONT
    -Rebooted PON card
Upload speed still sporadic, works perfect on some speedtests, but it's less than 0.5MB on many servers including Verizon's very own local speedtest. Gmail and any google site request is constantly slow. This site is slow and often times out. FTP to my own site is almost impossible if I want to upload a file that's bigger than 100kb.
I'm extremely frustrated.... There are reports of same exact issues in other thread, one seems to be fixed. Is there any way Verizon can look at that and apply it here?

  • Wrong mac address listed in verizon router for a device on my network

    Hi folks,
I'm having some routing issues and hope you can help.
I've got the standard  verizon actiontec MI424WR-GEN3I router for my standard LAN and then a 2nd router (linksys wrt54g) for a testing environment I set up, to help isolate the traffic.  I'm using the LAN to WAN strategy to set up the two networks.
everything seems to be working fine except for the fact that my devices behind the actiontec router cannot ping/access any devices behind the linksys router, but the devices behind the linksys router are able to ping and reach the devices behind the actiontec router.
my actiontec subnet is 192.168.1.X while my linksys subnet is 192.168.2.X.  I followed this tutorial on the verizon forum to hopefully get the two networks talking correctly: http://forums.verizon.com/t5/FiOS-Internet/Multiple-routers-and-subnets-can-t-access-across-subnets/...
an issue I see in my actiontec router is that it appears as though the mac address is not correct for what I'd imagine is the WAN port on the linksys router.  the actiontec is showing the MAC as 00:13:10:73:72:6a while the sticker on the router itself and through the ARP command in the command prompt shows the MAC for the linksys router as 00:13:10:73:72:69.  I've power cycled both routers 2x and nothing has changed.  I currently have the ethernet cable that goes from my actiontec to the linksys unplugged so hopefully it'll drop from network list eventually and reaquire an address when it's hooked back up, hopefully correcting the wrong MAC address issue.
I'm a bit perplexed as to why I can get out to the internet just fine on my 192.168.2.X network with a botched MAC address, but I can't ping the network that's just a hop away...even after following the guide mentioned above.
    any ideas here?

You can release the address yourself.  It's a function under my network, network connections, broadband connection (whichever one is connected), configure connection
    dhcp lease Release
    Then recycle the router
After you set up the static route did the ping work? - ensure that you have icmp enabled on the linksys.  If you don't get a ping response it indicates an issue with the static route rule.

  • FiOS + VCR + Standby Mode = problems for my Grandma.

So my Grandma just got FiOS. She still "tapes" stuff using VCR's (crazy, I know... but she ain't changing).
Problem is, since she's had FiOS, she has been left with a bunch of tapes that contain nothing but the black standby "Press Menu to blah blah blah" screen instead of the shows she was supposed to be recording.
Is there any way around this in her situation?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

By default, the remote will turn off / on both the TV and the STB when you press the power button.   Normally that is exactly what you want to occur.   You can however disable that sequence and make it so that the power button only works the device you have selected on the remote.
    From the remote documentation:
    On the remote:
    1.  Press and hold the STB key.
    2.  While hlding down the STB, press OK
    3.  Release both keys.  The Device keys will blink twice.
    4.  Press 9 - 7 - 7.  The STB key will blink twice.
    5.  Press OK.  The STB key will blink 3 times to indicate success in programming.
Now, to turn off the TV, press the TV key and then the Power button.   To turn off the STB, press the STB key and then the power button.   To work the STB, press the STB key followed by whatever commands you wanted to perform (channel, volume, etc.)

  • Sync AV on Multiple FIOS Cable Boxes??

I am trying to set up multiple cable boxes in different rooms that are near each other, so that when I want to display different programs in different rooms, I can, but when I want to have the same program running on all boxes, they will display the program in perfect sync with each other. What I am finding is that, sometimes they are in sync, and sometimes they are off by 4-5 seconds. All FIOS boxes are running cable to the box with HDMI to the viewing source. Any ideas of how to fix the out-of-sync issue or otherwise accomplish what I am trying to do? Thanks!

I'm not sure how Verizon can correct this issue.
Delays can be introduced by hardware utlization (DVR with only 1 remote is going to react differently than with 4) or network delays (type of coax, length of run between remote and VMS).
I had a similar issue with old DVR and STBs. DVR would buffer the signal as it was recording and playing.
Not sure why Quantum shouldn't be any different.

  • STB not responding to FIOS TV Central

    Hi all,
Sorry if this is dupeage but I did a quick search and didn't find anything.
I just installed a new DVR which replaced a SD STB. I've actived remote DVR pn the box and FIOS TV central sees it but says that it is not resonding. I am unable to access the box from FIOS TV central.
The last time I activated a DVR it took a few days for it to respond but it's been about a week or more now.
    Any ideas?
    TIA.

I just enabled my remote DVR last night.  I was told by a tech that after it is enabled you have to run the self diagnostic to see if the box connects to the network or whatever by verifying that "Listener 1 or 2" comes up.  You get there by going to menu - Help and Self Diagnostic and run the test.  I am still trying to get my second DVR remotely connected though.

  • New to FIOS TV Multi-room DVR - Should I be able to use DVR functions from the other HD STBs?

We just converted from Directv (three DVRs) to FIOS TV and am hoping I didn't make a huge mistake: The sales agent I spoke to said that the Multi-room DVR (Motorola QIP-7216-1) and non-DVR STB would enable me to get the same features I had with my Directv setup so each user could Stop/Start/Record programming from their own remote. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I can only perform DVR control functions from the real DVR. I can view recorded programming on the non-DVR STBs but pressing record for a live broadcast or trying to select a show to record from the guide doesn't work.
I have the ActiontecGen2 MOCA connected MI424WR router, three HD STBs (Motorola 7000), one standard definition STB and the DVR.

As you've found, you can only create recordings from the DVR.  If you want each room to have the ability to schedule recordings, then you need a separate DVR in each room.
The FiOS Motorola DVRs cannot access recordings stored on other DVRs.

  • Frustrated - Multiple issues with Fios TV/DVR - need advice on dealing with tech support

I have been a Verizon Fios customer since Feb. 20th (all of two and a half weeks).  I signed up for my bundle on-line around 11am on the 20th, and had a technician out for install within a few hours on the SAME day.  I thought that was impressive - and I was looking forward to having a more reliable and fast internet connection than I had been experiencing with Brighthouse.
The technician who installed was very friendly, and although he had some issues (apparently, there was a Verizon box in this house before us, but someone ripped it off the wall, so they had to run new wire all the way out to the street) the install went pretty quickly and smoothly.
The first few days went along without a problem, and the internet was great.  Some of the functionality of the DVR was less than I'd hoped for, but some of the other features were great.  I had a glitch trying to set up my online account, but I used the online chat feature to work with tech support and she was able to correct the issue.  We noticed a couple times in the evenings that the TV would pixelate - but it only happened a few times and was very brief.
On Sunday the 26th, our real issues started.  The live TV started freezing, then having a liquid-like pixelation problem, sometimes no sound.  We tried to watch a recorded show from our DVR list and received error messages stating that we didn't have DVR.  We called Verizon tech support and a very rude person reset the box several times and apparently even reinitialized the box and the result was that the box wouldn't even turn on anymore.  He said that he'd have a new box shipped out to us and that it would arrive by Tuesday or Wednesday.  My husband got on the phone at that point and suggested to him that since we were brand new customers (less than a week) and that since we had service installed on the very same day that we ordered it online, that certainly they could have someone bring us a new box on Monday morning.  The technician told us that he would transfer us to the billing department because we could probably just cancel the service.  We were both dumbfounded.  Especially considering that he had been rude from the minute he took our call, and while we were obviously frustrated, we were never rude.  We were eventually transferred to someone in billing who said she had never heard of such a thing and that she could not help us unless we wanted to cancel.  While this was going on, I had unplugged the box again, let it sit for several minutes, then plugged it back in - and the tv worked.  And the DVR worked. We assumed that maybe something the tech support guy did had worked after all.  Well, it worked until the next morning.  We had error messages saying we had no DVR.  A reboot of the box worked again.  After work, in the evening, it turned out that scheduled shows didn't record.  So, we called tech support again and asked for our new box.  We were told we'd have it by Thursday.
New box arrived Thursday and we set it up that evening.  Went through trying to get all of our recordings set up again and finally sat down to watch tv.  I switched to Showtime (which we are subscribed to in our package) and received an error that the channel was not available, press B to troubleshoot or call tech support with this code.  Pressed B, went through the steps and the channel came back.  Then, proceeded on to HBO, also part of our subscription - and we received the same error.  We pressed B and this time going through the steps did NOT correct - so we called tech support.  After working with the girl for over an hour, she finally determined that we needed to be switched to billing to have them remove our HBO package and then put it back on and that should correct the problem.  So, while we were waiting for billing to come on the line, we started flipping channels again.  Now, channels that had previously worked were now showing the error that the channel was unavailable - even non HD, non premium channels.  When the billing girl got on the phone, she said there was really nothing she could do with that being the case and that downgrading our package and re-upgrading it would do nothing - that we needed technical support.  She got us on the line with a different tech support person who said that we were obviously having signal related issues and that we needed a tech to come out to look at the wiring.  He scheduled an appointment for us for Friday.  That call took over 2 hours.
On Friday, the tech came out and spent time checking all of the wires coming in to the house - he said we had multiple splitters on lines that didn't need splitters and that this was likely causing a signal disruption and was probably the cause of the failure on both boxes.  He removed some of the splitters and apparently streamlined some of the wiring.  We still had the original box and the new box.  He hooked up each box and they both worked - all of our premium channels worked, DVR was good, etc. We boxed up the old box to send back, kept the new box and had tv that worked just fine for a few hours... then we started having the channel not available issues again.  And, now - we were also getting messages saying that we weren't subscribed to a channel - and this would range from HBO all the way to a non HD standard tv channel.  A reboot will work and restore function - for a while.  However - scheduled shows aren't recording - or record for 7 seconds and stop.  Or record for a while, then have a 20 minute gap in the middle where it's frozen, etc.  This has been going on since a few hours after the technician left Friday evening.  And, I have to say - when the tech left Friday - everhything seemed fine.  He had tested the signal strength - seemed completely thorough and was very nice.  I don't think he could have known, at that time, that the problem wasn't fixed.
We have not called back to tech support yet.  We're busy with our work and our lives and we're also frustrated.  I know it will take another several hours and don't have much faith that there is any resolution.  It seems to me that we probably need the whole house completely rewired - brand new - start over.  I'm thinking there's a bad wire in there somewhere.
This morning with my coffee before work, I tried to watch a tv show in my DVR list that apparently didn't record properly - no surprise (it froze and skipped over half the show).  So, I went to On Demand and found the show. (Without Bay News 9, I'm kind of lost with morning coffee, so I need a show of some kind)  It started to play and was going along just fine, till I received a CableCARD  (tm) Pairing Information is not available message.  I tried the auto fix in the menu, rebooted, etc.  It worked for a few minutes, then stopped again.  At one point, I got an error saying the set top box lost video due to a network connection failure.  Great, does that mean my internet is going bad too?? While looking around in the menu function, I clicked on the self diagnostics feature.  It filled in all the information, as I'd seen it do before - except when it got to the package description.  This time, instead of Ultimate HD, HBO, VOD, etc., etc (like I'd seen before). it told me that my package is: Arabic, Armenian, ART (Arabic), Extreme HD, HBO, Prime & Ultimate HD, Prime HD, RA, RAI (Italian), etc., etc.  Huh???  Really???
So, I'm not sure now what the deal is - would a signal issue cause my subscription package to change?  Do I get on the phone with someone at tech support for another few hours?  Are they going to send yet another box?  Are they going to come re-wire the whole house?  Is it worth it?  This is really ridiculous.  Do I cancel and go back to Brighthouse with my tail between my legs?  At least with them, I knew that my internet connection would be wicked slow at certain times of the day, but at least I knew it was coming and could expect it - and I could at least count on my tv and dvr recording my shows.
When I logged into verizon to vent on this forum, my account said that it was unable to access my DVR.  When I clicked on manage my DVR, it just says Bad Gateway.  Not a great start to our relationship, Verizon.
I really need some advice.  Should I stay or should I go?  And, if I stay - what is the best way for me to explain this to tech support so they will do the right thing and fix this?  And, what is "this" anyway?  Bad box, bad wiring?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
