Still fighting with manual backup

Question

Here are my configured parameters:

This is on Windows. There are no scheduled jobs to take a backup. This is all manual. We are trying to get backups while ARCServe helps get their backup software working again. All I need is to figure out how to set the parallelism so that it doesn't bomb out the job. Theoretically, Parallelism = 1 should be fine and it is the default. I don't know what else could be causing the problem, as the same script worked fine prior to removing ARCServe agent.
