Stock Categories
Where can I go to add in (or change the settings of) a new stock category?
We are running the AFS version of SAP and I am looking for a way to block a grid value from being purchased or sold before it is completely setup. This would be so that we don't have to block the entire material, just the new grid value.
What I would like to do is add a stock category that does not allow purchasing (or block it in some way) and mark it as the "Preference SKU" (under the AFS valuation tab of the material master) for the new grid value so no orders can be placed for it while we are in the process of setting it up in costing. Unless of course there is an easier, more reasonable solution to this problem that I'm not thinking of.
All help is appreciated.
I dont know if i got u correctely or not
I think u are looking for Split valuating and u want to create one more valuation type in addation to this First, Second, Closeouts and Samples
may be Thrid
if it is so, u can go to transaction OMWC
click on globle type
check the entried for First and create new one third same like First
save it and come back
click on globle categories
click on valuation categorie that are related to First, Second, Closeouts and Samples
click on types --> Cat
Search for newly created Third
click on that and clcik on Active botton below
and save it
Now when ever u will creat a material with Valuation categories will will get First, Second, Closeouts and Samples and Third as veluation type.
I this this will help u to solve ur issues is i have got ur question corectely
Thankx and regards

Exclusion of stock categories from SNP Planning
HI All,
I am trying to exclude specific stock categories from SNP Planning (Heuristics/CTM). These categories include 'CI' (Blocked stock) and 'CF' (Stock in Quality Inspection). According to note 487166, Blocked Stock is not relevant for planning and Quality Inspection stock is relevant for planning. Apparently this is hard coded. Still, the system seems to be taking both Blocked and Quality Stock into consideration when executing heuristics or CTM.
I have also attempted to deselectu2019 Stock in Quality Inspection' and 'Blocked Stock' in the product master > Demand > Available Stock tab, but the system still considers them during planning.
I have also read that the user exit APOCF011 can be used to change the stock category and change the Planning Relevance. However, the down side of this is that not all business unites want to use this same logic and this is a system wide change.
I was hoping there was an easier way then the user exit (e.g. setting in product master > Demand tab), but there does not seem to be any other options? At the very least, I would expect Blocked Stock not to be considered as relevant to planning (according to OSS Note 487166). However, this does not seem to be the case in our system.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Kind Regards,
PaulHi Paul,
There is a way to exclude some stock categories in SNP Planning. You can create a ATP category group just with those stock elements that you want to consider and assignt this category group in location, SNP tab. I use this configuration for SNP optimizer, and it should work for SNP heuristics.
I worked in few CTM projects, but if I were you I would create a order selection without some stock categories and assign this order seelction in planning scope/CTM profile.

Hi all,
We are in SCM 4.0, I would like to know how the system identifies that what are the categories it needs to be considered for Initial stock when the stock is CIFfed from ECC.
In otherwords, what are the settings that needs to maintained if I want to consider the stock categories like CF or CI (along with CC) as Initial stock. Also as per SAP, Stock on hand categories are selected from "Stock Category Group" from location master. But, currently, we are not maintaining this Stock Category group in the system.
You thoughts are well appreciated.
Thanks,
SaiHi Sai ,
You are absolutely right . When a specific stock category group is assigned in the location master then the sytem considers all the stock categories assigned to that category group while calculating the initial stock.
If no stock category group is assigned in location master then the system looks at the category group "ST1 - Opening stock" in SPRO and considers all categories in cat group ST1 while calculating the initial stock.
So to include CF / CI / any other cateogy in the initial stock calculation , all you have to do is assign those categories to ST1 category group . Once this is done you will be able to c the difference in your initial stock.
Atleast that is how it works in SCM 5.0 . Not sure about 4 , but please check it out
Thanks

Hi all,
I have a requirement to audit stock differences that had happened few months back between SAP and BI.
The stock in BI has a cumulative figure of all stock categories viz. unrestricted, in transit, blocked and QI.
In SAP, I can get the unrestricted stock on a particular day using MB5B but I don't know how to find the blocked stock/QI stock/in-transit stock on a past date say as on 15/Jan/2009.
Could you please help me out?
Thanks
RanaHi,
MB5OA doesn't serve my purpose. I need to find what was the stock break-up for all the stock categories (blocked, UR, QI, In-transit) for a material on a past date. For example, I need to know what was the stock of material ABC in QI, in Blocked and in unrestricted stock on 15th of Jan 2009.
Could you please help me?
Thanks,
Rana. -
Problems with existing stock and batch management indicator
Hi,
We would like to set the batch management indicator for a material.
However, there is stock on the material for the given plant.
The different stock categories for the plant/material combination are as follows (according to transaction MMBE):
Unrestricted use 150
Reserved (for production ordeers) 42
Open order qty (incoming PO) 100
"When I try to set the batch management indicator in MM02 I receive the following error message:
Material Master Maintenance
The batch management requirement cannot
be changed for the following reasons:
Stocks already exist at plant level.
Plant SLoc
PL01 SL01
PL01 SL02"
Can someone please guide me in how to remove the stock and the reservations, so that we can set the batch management indicator? Does the reservations of stock have any impact (there are reservations for 5 different production orders for this material)?
Thanks in advance,
Larsin plant A, you have to add 21 in current period (e.g. with 202 movement), then you issue 171 in previous period. with 201. Result: both periods are zero.
plant B, just issue 17 in previous period with 201.
for Plant A 171 with movement 202 back into stock with previous period date, and subsequently 21 goods issue using 201 in current period.
for plant B: 17 with movement 202 and previous period date. -
Regarding Account assignment categories in ECC 6.0
Hi All,
My client is going for a upgrade from SAP r/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0, In this process while creating Emergent orders in PLant maintianence module, an error "Invalid Account Assignment category" is arising with the following explaination under diagnosis.
In Customizing define the account assignment category for service and maintainance orders.
In standard, define the following for the order category 30:
Account assignement type (general) F
Account assignement type (Project) Q
Account assignement type (Sales Order) E
Sales document project D
Do I need to create these new account assignment categories in SAP ECC6.0 to overcome the error.
Also in this Account assignment config, Is special stock going to play an important role. Can anyone please explain what exactly the impact is on the bussiness if we assignt the Special stock categories.
Has anyone who did the upgrade created these account assignment categories for the PM module.

How to ajust stock balance marco in snp?
Dear SAP,
Now, we have created loc-pro hierachy to aggregate demand of location K410 = T661 + T671.
However, the system has only aggregated wrong stock on hand K410 = T661 + T671 not including stock on hand of itself.
Please, tell me how to ajust stock on hand marco?
thanks so much.Hi,
You need to create a stock category group with all stock categories that you would like to consider as available stocks.
Or you can pick a standard group like STK if it contains all categories relevant to your business model.
This stock category group needs to be assigned in the location master SNP tab.
If this does not help, please check the stock balance macro & check if it is active, or it has been tampered with.

Hi Experts,
Can you tell me how we can how we can ditinguish unrestricted stock and qualiy stock in APO
In our sceneraio, Right now Business able to issue un restricted stock and quality stock both, thts problem
User able to issue both unrestricted and quality stock as well, thts part of problem
We don't want to users to use Quality restricted stock.
Can we do something in GATP to block stock for quality inspection.
Is there any way we can include Quality inspection in APO
Thanks in Advance
Thanks
SunilSunil
The different types of stock in APO can be distinguished using stock categories. As per standard APO, the unrestricted stock will have category CC , the stock in quality inspection will have category CF (i think that is what you are referring to as quality stock).
If you go to /n/sapapo/rrp3 and view a material branch, that carries both unrestricted and quality stock, then you can see that they appear under different categories (CC and CF). To exclude quality stock from your planning / GATP all you have to do is go to the category group ST1 and remove CF from that category group. But remember this will have impact on all materials and hence is a very critical change .
Thanks

I have a requirement where I need to create agewise stock report using FIFO. I have the stock availability from 0ic_c03.
Can any one plese tell me how to achieve the FIFO based agewise stock. I have various age buckets like 0-30 , 30-60, 60-90 etc.
If the total stock is made up of multiple receipts and I also have few issues, how can I get the balance stock based on FIFO using the GR date.
I would appreciate your help.

VasunHi,
This InfoCube allows you to evaluate stocks from ERP.
A new feature in this InfoCube is the pre-existing stock key figure Valuated Stock Quantity (0VALSTKQTY) and the associated movement key figures Receipt Quantity Valuated Stock (0RECVALSTCK) and Issue Quantity Valuated Stock (0ISSVALSTCK).
This is made possible by including the InfoObject indicator Evaluation Special Stock (0INDSPECSTK) in the InfoSource Material Stocks (as of SAP BW 3.1 Content) (2LIS_03_BX). The InfoSource used up until now, Transfer BW: Stock (2LIS_40_S278), did not recognize this InfoObject.
Note the Remarks on Filling Non-Cumulative InfoCubes.
The following Basis key figures can be restricted in the query definitions to stock categories (0STOCKCAT), such as project stock, and to stock types (0STOCKTYPE), such as quality inspection:
· Quantity of Valuated Stock (0VALSTCKQTY)
· Receipt Quantity Valuated Stock (0RECVALSTCK)
· Issue Quantity Valuated Stock (0ISSVALSTCK)
In this way, for example, you can evaluate the quantity of valuated project stock (Q).
The newly-included Basis key figures are only updated through the InfoSources 2LIS_03_BX and 2LIS_03_BF.
In this way, none of these Basis key figures can be used in queries that are built up on InfoCubes which were inventory-initialized through InfoSource 2LIS_40_S278. Moreover, the queries 0IC_C03_Q0013 to 0IC_C03_Q0016 cannot be used in the combination of InfoSources 2LIS_40_S278 and 2LIS_03_BF.
Note the following procedures when filling the InfoCube 0IC_C03 for the first time with non-cumulative data from ERP:
1. Create non-cumulatives with the program BW: Initialization of Opening Non-Cumulatives in Transfer Structure (RMCBINIT_BW).
2. Initialize the movements/revaluations with the program RMCBNEUB/RMCBNERP.
3. Post in the InfoCube using the update method Creation of Non-Cumulatives from the InfoSource 2LIS_03_BX.
4. Post in the InfoCube using the update method Initialization of the Delta Process from the InfoSources 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM.
Refer to SAP Note 0643687 (Compression of Non-Cumulative InfoCubes) regarding the subsequent steps for compression.
5. Compression of the request from 2LIS_03_BX with update of the marker.
6. Because in this case you are posting movements and revaluations in the InfoCube that occurred before the non-cumulative creation and which lead to this non-cumulative creation, you must execute a compression without updating the marker. For more information, see InfoCubes.
7. Thereafter, you can transfer new movements and revaluations to the BW system as usual (for performance reasons, we recommend that you regularly compress with updates of the marker, see also InfoCube Compression).
Update Logic
When updating the DataSources 2LIS_03_BX, 2LIS_03_UM and 2LIS_03_BX, the System applies the following logic:
Characteristic Value Calculation
In principle, values are updated with Plant, Material, and Stock Category only. Quantities are updated with these characteristics, as well as with Storage Location, Batch Number, and Stock Characteristic (see also SAP Note 589024: Evaluations in BW with the Characteristics Storage Location and Stck Char.).
Key Figure Value Calculation
The source field for quantities is the field CPQUABU, and for values it is the field CPPVLC.
In the update, the InfoSource fields Stock Characteristic and Stock Category control whether "special stock" key figures are updated, such as Quality Stock or Stock in Transit (only relevant for 2LIS_03_BF and 2LIS_03_UM).
The general key figures (for example, Total Stock), however, can also be restricted in queries to Stock Characteristic and Stock Category, and then deliver the same result (key word: account model versus key figure model).
The values for Stock Characteristic and Stock Category are dealt with on the extractor side in the LMCB1F20 include (routine STA_VERAENDERUNG).
The InfoObject 0INDSPECSTK (field KZBWS) also controls whether the sales order stock / project stock is valuated or non-valuated.
The system valuates the transaction key to decide whether the issue movement key figure or receipt movement key figure is updated. For more information, see SAP Note 492828: Determining the transaction key for 2LIS_03_BF + 2LIS_03_UM.

Additional Stock Category Considered in SNP Heuristics
Hi,
The customer has a requirement to add 'inspection stock' into the SNP Heusrics planning considerations. The stock is already CIF'ed to APO, and is already seen in RRP3 Product view.. So I think part of the work is done. What further do I need to do to get it added to the key figure in the SNP Planning book?
I have looked at MSDP_ADMIN and the details of the key figure, The stock key figure used here is listed in many planning obj structure, eg 9AMALO, 9ASNPBAS etc. But in all of them there are no category groups or individual category settings assigned... and it is actually greyed out and I cannot add one. So im not sure what it is working on today, even before the new customer requirement.
Is stock as a key figure different than others? I understand category groups and how they are used in ATP Issues / Reciepts for deployment.. but this appears to be a different setup? (as it is blank currently)
Other posts seem to have menitoned something about the SNP tab of the location master data in APO. 'Category Groups for Stocks'.
Do I need to create a new category group in SPRO customising, and then add it to this location master data? or the key figure? or both? or none?
Please help.
S SBAnswering my own question now I have found the answer for the benefit of others:
When a specific stock category group is assigned in the location master then the sytem considers all the stock categories assigned to that category group while calculating the initial stock.
If no stock category group is assigned in location master then the system looks at the category group "ST1 - Opening stock" in SPRO and considers all categories in cat group ST1 while calculating the initial stock.
So to include CF / CI / any other cateogy in the initial stock calculation , all you have to do is assign those categories to ST1 category group . Once this is done you will be able to see the difference in your initial stock.
There is NOTHING required in MSDP_ADMIN. Tested and confirmed. -
Batch / Stock Category Issue
Dear All,
I have a scenario where a single material in a purchase order has different stock categories as below:
PO/LI - 10 Mat A US
20 Mat A FR
30 Mat A AG
When the GRN is done, ideally for the different stock categories the created system batch should be different, but in my system a single batch gets created for all the stock categories. As per my understanding the relationship between Batch & Stock Category is ONE to ONE. But how could it is be possible that the system replicates the same batch for the different stock categories for a given GRN instance ( in a single material document)
In the material master, the discrete batch is maintained and also the batch management tick is maintained.
Any reasons as to why this is happenning and how i could rectify this
Regards
Shabeen BuharyWhat "stock category" means? "US", "FR", "AG"?
Are you speaking about valuation types?
How batch number ssignment is set in the system? Please check it - maybe user exit SAPLV01Z is used --> revise the logic of it with the help of an ABAPer.
In your example I can see separate line items - you should be able to set the system to assign different batch numbers to the items (via user exit).

Csaba -
Hi
In Decentralized Warehouse management system, can we use VLMOVE transaction to change stock categories from U/R to Quality or from Quality to Blocked and so on.
If yes, how will the stock category changes replicated in the inventory management in central erp.
If no, how should we do stock category changes in de-centralized WM without actual material movements.
Thanks & Regards,
NadeemHi
Thank you for your reply.
I know about this process to initiate stock transfers in central ERP to do stock category changes via deliveries.
But what I want to know is whether I can use VLmove in the de-centralizred system to change the stock category.
Or is there any way that I initiate stock categoryu change in the de-centralized system and then the respective posting is done in central ERP.
Thanks & Regards,

Difference between Sales Order and Stock Transfer Order(STO)
Hi Gurus,
What exactly is a diference between Sales Order and STO?
Thanks and Regards
RohitHi,
Sales Order Stock
Sales Order Stock are stock with Special Stock type E. It can fall into the usual stock categories such as unrestricted, blocked etc. but "belongs" to a sales order. For example, you create a sales order for a part and assign a sales item category that generates an individual requisition, the requirement has an account assignment linking it to the sales order schedule line, you convert that requisition to a Purchase Order.
When you receive the Purchase Order, the stock is placed in sales order stock. It will show against the sales order/sales order line. It can only be delivered against that sales order line. Any availability check etc for that material on any other sales order will not take it into account as it is not available except to the sales order line the stock is assigned to.
Stock Transfer Order
the cross company Stock Transport Orders can be done by:
- Configure using transaction OMGN
- Depending upon the sending and receiving plants, maintain sales organization and customer data in customizing.
- Maintain the supplying plant as a vendor and attach the plant to the vendor in the Vendor Master.
- Material type has to be HALB or HAWA.
- Ensure that the company with sales Organization has a plant to take care of stocking.
- The PO used is NB and not Stock Transfer PO.
Configure SD for inter-company billing to enable picking up the pricing procedure for billing.
- Carry Out delivery through process delivery due list and billing through process billing due list.
Otherwise, You need to configure your Stock Transport Order settings for your Cross-Company:
Business Transaction to work.
1. Customer No. for the Goods Receiving Plant - OMGN
2. Availability Check- Checking Rule (if necessary) - OMGN
3. Assign a Delivery Type for the Delivering Plant - OMGN (for Stock Transport Orders, NLCC)
4. PO type (which i belive you have done) - OMGN
5. Assign Vendor No. to the Supplying Plant (done) - VK02
6. Assign Customer No. to the Purchasing Plant for the Inter-Compnay Invoice (but you need to assign this to the Sales Organization pre-assigned to the Purchasing Plant),
IMG-SD-Billing-InterCompany Billing-Define Internal Customer No. by Sales Org
***and by the way for the Invoice to work between Cross-Compnay Plants, you need also to have a Sales Org for the Supplying Plant and a Pricing Determination Procedure.
