Strange (new) MLP behaviour: "L2TP: No vtemplate defined"

Dear all
I am facing a new problem on two of our L2TP-LNC.
We have a couple of PPP users connected with MLP multilink bundles. If one of these multilink bundles loses one of its members it seems that the link cannot be re-added to the multilink bundle when it comes back. Debugging on the LNC gives me these two lines:
Jun  7 13:32:38: [email protected] MLP: Bundle appointed (implicit)
Jun  7 13:32:38: uid:1453 Tnl/Sn 31559/54220 L2TP: No vtemplate defined - check config
This is repeating all the time until - all of a sudden - the link becomes re-added to the bundle. This happens always after another PPP user has disconnected.
The machines in question are NPE-G1 with 1024 MBytes of memory. Currently there are around 370 users on each of the machines and memory usage is around 300MBytes.
Are there any limitations on the number of multilink bundles or VirtualAccess-Interfaces?
What does the debug message "No vtemplate defined" mean? Of course the virtual template is well defined.
Thanks for any help or hint,
Grischa

Well, I exported the app (so I'd have a backup), deleted the app, re-imported it, and the problem persisted.
So, I went through the entire app and removed the Apexlib 'stuff', and the problem with the one page (with those two items) went away. However, I now think all the fancy error message displays I had builtin may cause problems now> I'll need to experiment a bit on those other pages and see what happens.
Later I think I'll try to add the Apexlib 'stuff' back in and see if the problem may have gone away.
I have no idea where the references are being kept that those two fields are "required". Everything I've looked at shows that they are now "optional".

  • Strange New Compile Error

    I was just compiling a project and I got the following
    strange new error written to c:\.err.
    Friday, April 25, 2008 17:08:13
    HHA Version 4.74.8702
    htmlproc.cpp(114) : Assertion failure: (pszTmp ==
    m_pCompiler->m_pHtmlMem->psz)
    The only 'major' change made to the project was an update to
    the existing Index, and deletion of a number of spurious entries
    therein.
    What is this error and what can I do about it?
    Any Advice?

    Just got this error again:
    Monday, May 05, 2008 11:25:23
    HHA Version 4.74.8702
    htmlproc.cpp(114) : Assertion failure: (pszTmp ==
    m_pCompiler->m_pHtmlMem->psz)
    Strangely, I have not increased the size of the index since
    the last successful compile.
    I am curious as to what other aspects of this
    formerly-successfully-compiled-project may lead to this error.
    Vivek, could you please provide any insight? Thank
    you.

  • CSM : Strange Round-Robin behaviour

    Hi,
    During validation tests, I am observing a strange server selection behaviour, on independent GET requests (no cookie included) : When a connection request arrives in the CSM within a time window of about 20 seconds after the previous request, then the CSM correctly selects the next real server in the farm (round-robin). However, if the second connection arrives more than 20 sec after the previous request, the CSM selects the same server as for the previous one. Everything looks like the round-robin algorithm would be "reset" after this periood of time.
    Is it a normal behaviour ?
    By the way, how is the server list organized in the CSM RR algorithm ?
    Thank you
    Yves Haemmerli

    Gilles,
    As you requested, I send you the traces showing that when sessions are established with long delay between them, the round-robin load balancing is not consistent.
    Here are some important infos :
    - Client IP address is 141.122.142.197
    - VIP address is 160.213.139.14
    - We NAT the client with the VIP address
    - Servers addresses are :
    -> 160.213.139.163
    -> 160.213.139.164
    -> 160.213.139.165
    -> 160.213.139.166
    -> 160.213.139.171
    -> 160.213.139.172
    -> 160.213.139.173
    -> 160.213.139.174
    I ran two tests. Fore each of them I send you one trace showing the frames (HTTP on TCP port 26000)between the client and the CSM, and a second trace showing the frames between the CSM and the servers. In the trace, please forget about the HTTP code 401 returned by the servers). Also, note that the sessions are kept open by my session generator, in order to do the test.
    In the first test, I sent 16 sessions in the raw without delay between them. Load balancing is perfect, each of the eight servers receives 2 sessions.
    Than, I sent 16 sessions, one after the other, with several seconds between them. As you can see, the load balancing is uneven in this case.
    I can't understand the behaviour as the GET requests in both tests are exactly the same...
    Thank you for your help,
    Yves Haemmerli

  • Strange New Console Messages _spotlight: audit warning: expired /var/audit/ {string of numbers}

    For several days I have been having difficulties having the MacBook Pro (Lion) complete shutdowns. Eventually I have to hard reset it.
    On reboot almost always Spotlight starts building its index again. (I even gave it 2 full days once in case the indexing not completing was the issue but the laptop had just stayed hung). Disk Utility and even the otherwise pathetic Tech Tools Pro 6 report no errors in directories or structures,
    Today, I just noticed a strange new series of messages, while I was not using the computer all day and no apps were running....

    Any thoughts on what these are all about and how to get rid of these problems?
    Thanks and Happy New Year.
    Imran

    To the best of my knowledge, the CaptiveNetworkSupport daemon has to do with WiFi and networking.
    Some things to try:
    Visit ~/Library/Caches <–Trash everything in this folder (it will rebuild after reboot)
    Reboot your Mac. | Empty the Trash. | Reboot your Mac.
    You cannot empty the trash until after you reboot because the files are still in use. When you reboot the second time, after you have emptied the trash, it is to ensure that none of the files are in use, and the new caches are rebuilt successfully.  You may notice it's a little slow at first, that is because it is rebuilding the caches.
    Rebuild the Spotlight Index.
    This is simple. Open up Spotlight in System Prefs, drag your Mac HD into the Privacy section, then remove it. It rebuilds the spotlight database.
    Repair Disk Permissions for good measure as well.
    See if that helps anything.

  • Strange new behaviour

    After recently installing the latest system security update, I am getting something strange happening that I have never had before. I leave my computer asleep most of the time and always have, but the last 2 days when I wake it up the screen goes half dark and a big white warning in multi languages tell me I need to shut off my computer and restart it. Any idea what this is all about? I have never seen it before 2 days ago. The computer seems to work fine otherwise, so maybe its part of this recent security update - or maybe not. PLEASE help me solve this perplexing question. Thanks!

    Of course, what I don't know is how to address my problem based on this information. Clearly the second bit of information is iTunes related it seems. So far the only attempt I have made to address this is to repair permissions. If anyone can suggest another thing to do that would be VERY appreciated. Seems others are having similar issues.
    BTW - even though my machine is now a little old and I am on 10.3.9, all Apple software is as up-to-date as possible, meaning the iTunes and the like are all updated to the most recent versions. I have also performed the usual disk utilities on a fairly regular schedule, though nothing recently except the permissions repair I just did. I am happy to proceed with more of that but hopefully will get a little advice first.
    thanks

    UPDATE...
    I have been in safe mode for a while... When I was login into safe mode the I suffered one of those graphical glitches... I took a photo. After that, when it finished to load the screen went black and nothing more happened... The computer was working... but not graphical interface at all... just a black screen.
    Then, I decided to force to turn off.... and try again to login into safe mode. That time worked well and normal.
    However, while I was in safe mode the mac behaved strange graphically, as you can see in this video. I really do not know if that is a normal behaviour in safe mode. Finally, while I was finishing the email to reply the apple support a heavy graphical glitch happened after the screen went black, as you can see in these photos ( 1, 2 and 3). I decided to turn of the computer and back to the normal mode.
    I have collected another console log, it can be seen in the previous link to the error logs or in this link. The glitch occurred around 14.10 h today.
    Thanks in advance for the help and your time!!! it is really appreciated!!!!

  • Strange card reader behaviour

    Pls help!
    I have notebook with vista business.
    In normal situation once I plug my card reader the lamp on it is lit for 5-6 seconds, after the lamp is turned off I can work without problems.
    but with this vista once i plug my card reader the lamp is lit on but never gets turned off and when i try to use card reader I cannot access it because alegedly vista grabs control over it and refuses to release it.
    Pls help. which windows service might grabs card reader for infinity?

    I think I have found the reason of the "strange behaviour".
    Here's the story (I use the name TAB1 for a table in this example).
    I've created TAB1 using external tables to import txt-saved data in the DB.
    After this step I've noticed that if you remove the txt file with the data from the working directory, the data disappear from the DB.
    So I've created a copy of TAB1 using ODM interface that has automatically named the newly craeted table (something like: TAB14530959847, with many digits after the original name).
    I've erased TAB1.
    At that point my populated table was on the DB, but I wasn't happy with the new name.
    So I've created another copy of TAB14530959847 and called it TAB1 (I guess there are better ways to rename a table, but I am a total beginner and unaware about it).
    This is what creates the strange behaviour.
    Now I have the table with the name I want, but I am not able to see it from SQL plus, that says that the table doesn't exist.
    I've made experiments: if I rename TAB14530959847 into whatever I want (except for the original name TAB1) everything goes fine.
    I bet oracle keep a trace somewhere of the original name and relates it to what is in fact a dropped table (TAB1) and it's not supposed to be there anymore.
    well. that's it.
    hope this can be useful for someone who's experimented this problem.
    cheers
    S.

  • Strange web traffic behaviour for previous week

    Hi,
    I have been experiencing strange web behaviour with my infinity 2 connection for approximately the last week. I say "web" because the connection speed for other applications is fairly rapid still, but general web browsing is very laggy.
    I'm using mainly Apple kit. Time capsule plugged into infinity box. Two iPhones, two Macbook Airs and an ipad. Using a mixture of wired and wireless connections. All show the same issue for websites, where as pages will either take a while to load or half load and not respond until tried upon a second attempt.
    Looking at network traffic it would look like what happens is occasionally some HTTP requests hang and eventually time out. I've tried VPN'ing out then web browsing via the VPN and it doesn't experience the same issue.
    Anyone have any ideas or experienced similar? Sounds like some kind of BT traffic shaping or transparent proxy perhaps?
    Thanks in advance...

    I’ve done some analysis to try find out what is happening and come to conclusion there is definitely some packet loss going on which appears to be the cause of the problem. I’m not sure if this is the correct forum for this level of technicality but hopefully someone at BT will see this and act on it.
    In the instances where the request fails, it is almost certainly because the TCP three way handshake does not complete. Specifically this is final ACK packet back from the client to the server is lost en route but strangely no ICMP error messages which you’d expect to see.
    In the example log below a request to an asset on the BBC news website failed. Somewhere within BT, the final ACK to establish the connection is being lost; so the connection is in a kind of limbo state where it is trying to ask for a particular page asset but the remote server still thinks there’s an ACK packet to come. This is what is causing the actual ‘hang’ within the browser since it is waiting for data to be returned which never is.

    So with this in mind, I’m open to as whether it is just web. It’s likely that it could be other protocols as well. It could be that web is more susceptible due to the number of separate connections that need to happen for each page view.

  • New configuration behaviour

    Hi,
    Would like to know if the following behaviour is normal with a new setup on an ASA having security+ installed;  (or after a reset to factory defaults);
    is it normal that we can't access the server on the dmz (remote desktop for example) from the inside(lan) without any access lists or nat rules defined?  I thought this was out of the box behaviour..  I am using version 8.4 of the firmware.
    thanks.

    Guess what, the router for some reason fell back to version 8.2 of the ASA firmware when I reset it to factory defaults.  I really don't understand why it fell back to that version again.
    So after upgrading again to 8.4 it now allows me to get to the DMZ as you specified.
    Any way to have 8.4 the new permanent firmware that will survive a factory defaults command?

  • Strange headphone volume behaviour

    G'day everyone.
    Yesterday I received a brand new iPhone 4 and today, after syncing all my music, I noticed a strange problem when listening through any earphones. When the music is playing at low volume it is very muffled, though when the volume is turned up close to full, the audio seems to jump into a state of clarity where it suddenly sounds normal.
    I was on the phone to apple about this problem and whilst I was on hold I decided to plug in my headphones to see if they worked for calls... they did, so I decided to test further and see if my music was working... it was, but as soon as I hung up from the call and tried the music again it went back to being muffled until the volume was turned to full. Apple suggested a hard reset which did not help, any other ideas?
    Cheers.

    I bet oracle keep a trace somewhere of the original name and relates it to what is in fact a dropped table (TAB1) and it's not supposed to be there anymore.
    well. that's it.
    hope this can be useful for someone who's experimented this problem.
    cheers
    S.

  • Addition of New Column name "Qty" in user defined layout for CJR2

    Hi Friends,
    I am going thorugh variurs posts but could not a fetch correct answer. If that was available and missed, sorry about that.
    My requirement is, wanted to have new user defined layout which would be copied from 1-701 (CJR2). The layout should have new column which would be named as "Qty".
    Note that I tried to change name after pulling new fileds from left side to right hand side but these fields are grayed out in change layout.
    What is the work around solution to have new column and tthis wouold be named as "Qty". Let me ask one question is it possible to add new fields name to standard layout like 1-702 other than what it has been delivered by SAP????.
    Looking forward to hear from and thanks for your efforts.
    Regards,
    Sudhakar

    Have you tried MENU > Edit > Columns > Append additional fields?
    I think you can not choose any other characteristics other than SAP has provided which is mentioned in SAP Help.

    Mahendra

  • GH2 Video File Strange New Behavior

    I've been working the last 6 months with 4 GH2s and ran into some strange troubles when initially importing them to the timeline. 2 hour shots are divided into 6 or 7 different files, and when brought into PP the first clips audio was assigned to all the other remaining clips. This was pretty strange, but I fixed it by using TSmuxer. It was added time in the workflow/set up, but in the end I could produce; so I did not search for any more solutions.
    The latest update of PPCC now combines the entire 2 hours of footage into each of the 7 files being imported. So it is importing 2 hours of footage 7 times for each camera. The conforming is taking forever! For 4 cameras it's conforming 14 hours of footage each, when it should literally be a 7th of that.
    It is taking up large amounts of time and disk space.
    Any pointers here?

    CS6 is exactly where I picked up Premeire Pro, so you can see that I'm very new. But even after following the advice I found on this forum to
    a. copy the entire folder over to the working drive and
    b. use adobe media browser to import clips,
    I always had multiple clips with the first clips audio. Latest updates of window, video card driver, premeire pro, and all...still the error. Hence the TSmuxing.
    So maybe there is something else that I missed?

  • Strange new syncing problem

    Syncing has never been an issue until last week.
    My ATV is synced to my MacBook Pro. Last week when I switched on the MBP and opened iTunes it started to sync, but strangely instead of showing my ATV content at approx. 100GB it showed it to be only approx. 20GB and was trying to sync 1,750+ files to the Apple TV. This didn't make any sense as a) I hadn't changed any settings and b) the only new content on the MBP was a couple of new pod casts. Anyway it wouldn't sync, just would get past the first file. What was even stranger was that all the content (i.e. over 100 GB) was still available on the ATV. Even if I switched the MBP off (i.e. it wasn't being streamed from the MBP) it was actually still on the ATV even though iTunes on the MBP said it wasn't and was trying to sync it back on.
    Anyway, in the end I had to reset the ATV back to factory settings and reinstall all the content.
    Trouble is, exactly the same thing has happened again. Ahaaaghhhhh!!!!!!
    Has anyone else had the same problem?
    I'm reluctant to go back to the Apple store as to be frank no one there seems to know anything about ATV at all. And even though the product is less than a year old, Apple want to change me if I phone them up to ask them for some advice about this.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Similar problem. I've had the AppleTV for 6 months now and its been flawless until the last two weeks.
    I noticed one night that iTunes said it was syncing with AppleTV. Nothing weird about that. When I woke up it still said it was syncing...not normal. I packed up my MacBookPro and left for work. Got home and noticed the same hours and hours of syncing, but for no reason. Content was still on the ATV, so I saw no reason for the sync.
    A New episode of a TV show became available, so I attempted to download it through the ATV, which has been a feature that never worked for me. Again, no dice, so I run upstairs to the MPB and download the new episode to iTunes. I see the prolonged sync message again, run downstairs and no new episode was shown. I tried rebooting both machines, signing out of the iTunes account on both machines and nothing worked.
    So I restored to factory settings, re ran updates, and re-synced data and all was well.
    Now I see iTunes telling me that its syncing the ATV again all night long. I have no idea why this is happening. The day before yesterday I rented an HD movie through the ATV, which took all freaking day to download, and attempted to watch it last night but the ATV took forever to authorize the movie and after ten minutes of watching the thing move in circles it tells me the content isn't authorized. HOW IS IT NOT AUTHORIZED WHEN I BOUGHT IT ON THE ATV LAST NIGHT?!?
    Very aggravating. I've been a die-hard apple enthusiast for twenty years, starting when I was only six years old on my father's mac classic and my elementary school's apple II's. I haven't done any software updates that I can recall in the last two weeks to make the ATV start to act this strange.
    Help!!

  • Strange behavior in jdev JBO 25002 jbo defination not found

    Hi Experts,
    I am using jdeveloper 11.1.1.5.i am facing strange experience.
    let me put here
    1)i have one application in which i have dto class(ProductDTO)
    2)in ADF model project(TestModel),i have TestDelegate java class where i use ProductDTO
    lets say
    class TestDelegate {
    ArrayList<ProductDTO> listOfProducts=
    TetsDelegate(){
    listOfProducts=new ArrayList<ProductDTO>
    //i populated arraylist of productDTO
    //and setter getter for listOFProduct
    3)created a datacontrol over it
    4)i dragged listOfproduct from the data control to ADFView Project(Note there is no dependency of model,we have added Model.jsr in classpath to view Control)
    5)ViewControler is deployed as jar
    6)now we have Portal application where i use above jsff fragment
    now every thing is working in mylocal copy
    i comited to SVN.
    now i chekcout from the SVN ,now i am getting JBO25002 no definition found for productDTO
    after going though the documentation and forums
    i did clean build,added model as dependency to viewcontrol
    above two option didnt work
    I did as mentioned in DataControl not found
    now its working .i comited my code to SVN.
    and i took fresh checkout.again i am getting same error.all files are sync with SVN
    every time i need to recreate datacontrol and dabindings.cpx file.
    i donot understand what is happening here...why it starange behavior?
    am i missing any file while chekin to SVN?(but there are no files modified in my local expect adf libarrary dependency)
    Can some one help me out on this?
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks Timo, U saved my day :)
    root cause:since productDelegate has ProductDTO .
    when i create the datacontrol over productDelegate it has generated two xml files
    1)productdelgate.xml
    2)ProductDTO.xml file
    in adfm src productdelegate.xml file has been committed but productDTO.xml file has not been committed as SVN shows the green icon even if u added new files to working copy.
    by looking at the green icon on folder i thought that all the files are in SVN
    as timo suggested i compared two copies working copy and svn copy
    beyond-compare shows that productdto.xml file is not adfmsrc of svn copy
    now i committed that file and took latest checkout
    now its working
    thanks Timo and Sri for helping me

  • Strange User Account behaviour at Log In - not solved re duplicate thread

    This morning I cold booted my laptop and strangely after signing in it declared that it was "Preparing Windows." I was then taken to a desktop with empty Documents etc. folders. Panicking I went to the User Accounts and found all my folders and data intact but not accessible through the "account" I had been forced to log in to. Licensed software that was not installed as multiple user wouldn't show as licensed so I must assume that some sort of default new profile had been created. However, in User Accounts there didn't seem to be anything new.
    In addition to my account and that of my wife there were three other folders that I am sure have always been there. (1) Default (with user empty subfolders) (2) An alphanumeric (temp?) folder ... empty except for Appdata / Local / Temp ... itself empty (3) UpdatusUser - used by Nvidia to update the graphics driver (with user empty subfolders) (4) Public - usual subfolders.
    I solved the problem by logging out and logging back in with my usual login credentials. (Switching user didn't work).
    What happened please and how can I prevent it happening again?
